With the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine top on the news agenda, it may be easy to miss ongoing war in Sudan. The medical charity Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has this week highlighted the extensive use of sexual violence against women and girls - some of them very young indeed - in the Darfur region. We hear testimonies from survivors and Edward Stourton speaks to Ruth Kauffman, the MSF Medical Emergency Manager for Sudan and by Dr Harun Issack Muslim Aids Country Director for Sudan. The King? A healer? An American shaman? We explore Elvis' little known fascination with the occult, spirituality and a quest for higher consciousness with Miguel Connor, author of ‘The Occult Elvis: The Mystical and Magical Life of the King.'It's been a busy week for the new Catholic Archbishop of Liverpool. Installed on Tuesday, his first mass was overshadowed by violence at the victory parade in the city which saw 79 people injured by a car driven into the crowd at high speed. And now, John Sherrington has another job on his hands: deciding the future of an historic church in Lancashire, one with links to the martyr St Edmund Arrowsmith, executed for his faith in 1628. Parishioners like Bren Cook at Brindle St Joseph's were shocked to hear their building would be closed and the congregation dispersed to neighbouring churches after their priest was recalled to Ampleforth Abbey in North Yorkshire- the Sunday programme also hears from Liam Kelly the company secretary of the trust.Presenter: Edward Stourton Producers: Bara'atu Ibrahim & Linda Walker Studio Managers: Jack Morris & Chris Hardman Editor: Tim Pemberton

Now, they've just celebrated their 5-year anniversary of owning CraveWell Cafe and are excited to share their healthy smoothies, sandwiches, cold-pressed juices, and more with all of you!Liam Kelly is no stranger to hard work, and even began helping out a family member's business at the age of 8. Later on in life, he found himself drawn into the culinary world when Ireland competed in the 2010 world cup and was hooked. So, in the late 90's he made the decision to move to the states and was offered a job inside a Manhattan bar. Soon after, he became a managing partner of the place and helped to open Tir-Na-Nog, a well-known Irish Pub & Restaurant chain. After that, he took a break and worked in Australia on boats...but eventually was drawn back to the states with a desire to open his own place in Philadelphia. Today, Liam is the Managing Partner of Con Murphy's Irish Pub in Philadelphia, Con Murphy's Ocean Bar & Grill in Florida, and he is a buyer for Aylesworth's Fish and Bait, Inc.There's some sweet rewards when you stay tuned for our last guest, Gize Negussie, who owns and operates Negus Winery which is located in Alexandria, VA. Why is this such a sweet reward? Gize is the first Ethiopian Honey Wine maker in the US, with strong familial bonds. The recipe for his signature blend was the one he was raised on. According to Gize, Tej (the honey wine, which is similar to mead) is always on the table when there's an occasion to celebrate. The signature wine also happens to be his mother's recipe but modernized to meet the needs of US regulations, and stamped with his mother's approval. Gize also offers other varieties of wine inside his tasting room, as well as specific varieties available to ship nationwide, so if you want to sip on something originally created for royalty--check out Negus Winery online or in-person!

Everyone struggles in life but, for some, those struggles turn into suffering. When we experience suffering, it is my belief that we often suffer in three main areas. We suffer in ourselves, we suffer from others, and we suffer in life as a whole. You may be experiencing suffering in one, two, or all three of these areas. When we suffer, we deserve to have the help of others to come along side and work together to relieve, process, and heal that suffering. It would be my honor to come along side of you and work to turn your suffering into acceptance, understanding, and freedomTogether we achieve this freedom by digging deep into your emotions and belief systems using the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy framework. This framework can reveal stringent unaccepting belief systems that cause you to suffer and transform these beliefs into more loving, kind, and accepting beliefs. This reframing calls on you to take behavioral steps toward a life that is more accepting and free!My counseling experience includes working with those who are experiencing grief and loss, trauma, depression, anxiety, career/life changes, and others. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is important in healing and in the effective use of REBT. Because of this, counseling begins with us building a therapeutic relationship. We will work together to identify and define your goals. Then you get to put those goals to the test as you continue to strive for more acceptance and freedom in your life.My hope as a counselor is to connect with you and help bring a level of joy to your life regardless of circumstance. Please contact me directly at 940-268-4287 or lkelly@lotusflowermound to get started!
