”It was really sort of a Blitzkrieg assault approach where I wrote many, many scripts and emailed everybody I knew, and entered scripts into screenwriting competitions. “While I was living in New York I paid for a pitch fest in L.A. I flew out there to this event where you had five minutes to pitch different companies, like Lionsgate Motion Pictures. It was like speed dating for screenwriters. Eventually, I got one of my scripts into the hands of The Asylum and that eventually became ‘Born Bad,' which was a made-for Lifetime TV movie. When they told me they liked that script and they wanted me, well, that was amazing!” Jared Cohn is a film/TV director, writer, and producer based in Los Angeles, CA. I had the chance to sit down and speak with the stars of a new horror film called Dawn, a movie that explores what horrifying possibilities getting into a rideshare vehicle with a stranger could have. Jared Cohn and Jackie Moore lead the film, and we spoke about their characters, their approach to the roles, and how they initially got involved in the thriller. They shared their inspiration to join the acting world in the first place, and we also talked about the other projects they've been working on. It was a hilarious and wonderful time between the three of us and it clocks in at just over half an hour, so be sure to grab your popcorn. And don't forget to check out Dawn!

I was sold on 'Devil's Revenge' the second I saw William Shatner wielding a shotgun on the poster. Not only that, but the story comes to us via 'Star Trek TNG' scribe Maurice Hurley. It's like a little 'Trek' reunion, except with a lot more violence and creepier creature effects. Good, bad, or otherwise there is no way I'd pass up the chance to watch Kirk team up with Seven of Nine herself, Jeri Ryan, to take on a bunch of satanic creatures in caves. When I say caves, I mean real caves. Director Jared Cohn had the cast and crew filming in various real-world locations underground in Kentucky. So, how did this story of a family cursed by the devil come about? What was it like working with the legendary Shatner? Find out in our interview below.

When a plane crash in 1977 ended the career of the original Lynyrd Skynyrd, the world lost one of the greatest American rock bands. Skynyrd drummer, Artimus Pyle survived the crash, crawling from the wreckage and saving lives. For the first time, Artimus' story has been brought to the screen in a dramatic recreation that focuses on the band's last few days. To get this film produced, the filmmakers had to navigate a dangerous swamp of lawsuits and litigation. Writer and Director Jared Cohn discusses the courtroom dramas and the stories behind the making of the movie – the highlight being one of the scariest crash sequences ever shot.
STREET SURVIVORS: The True Story Of The Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash was scripted and directed by Jared Cohn, produced by Brian Perera and co-produced by Tim Yasui for Cleopatra Entertainment. The biopic recreates the story about the ill-fated flight through the eyes of former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle (who narrates the film), who not only survived the plane crash that claimed the life of the band's founder and front man Ronnie Van Zant amongst others, but who also physically pulled the remaining survivors out of the plane wreckage before staggering towards the nearest farmhouse in rural Louisiana to seek help. Pyle also contributes original music to the film's soundtrack. Says Pyle: "This film's story - MY story - is not just about the plane crash but also about my personal relationship with the genius that was Ronnie Van Zant - whom I loved like a brother and still miss to this day." Cleopatra Entertainment completed an international festival run followed by a domestic theatrical run, which included personal appearances by Artimus Pyle, who introduced the film and participated in Q&As with the audience. Pyle also performed a live music concert with this band that featured the hit songs by Lynyrd Skynyrd. A worldwide VOD and home video release which will include a stand-alone official soundtrack CD are coming June 30th via MVD Entertainment Group.

This was also a video interview https://youtu.be/9jSr2lQPmXA Jared Cohn is a writer, director, producer and actor in film and television. He has to date directed over 30 films that have also been produced and distributed by major studios and production companies. These include Netflix, Hulu, Showtime, Syfy, Lifetime, and many more. Jared has also won awards and has been featured in GQ, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline, respectively. Street Survivors: The True Story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash Cohn's film centers around drummer Artimus Pyle his perspective on the tragic 1977 plane crash of the Lynyrd Skynyrd band. The crash claimed the lives of singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines and his backing vocalist sister Cassie Gaines, as well as their road manager Dean Kilpatrick, and the two pilots of the plane. In August of 2017, the other surviving member Gary Rossington and the estates of Ronnie Van Zant and Steve Gaines successfully sued to stop the film from being produced. They claimed that Pyle had violated a 1988 agreement that prevented individual members from exploiting the band’s name after the crash. However in 2018, this court ruling was overturned and now Jared Cohn's film will make its debut on the June 30th 2020.Jared's links Web: https://www.jaredcohn.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/traplightmedia Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jaredcohn1/ And don’t forget to support the podcast by subscribing for free, reviewing, and sharing.
