Ciao. Rocket Beans wird unterstützt von fritz-kola. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

O forse no?

Today on the Movies We've Never Seen Podcast, Mike is joined by his good friend Dan where they discuss the Cult Classic Krull, not Alexandre Aja's Crawl, NOT Crullers, the pastry, NOT the land speed of horses drawing wagons... Well, maybe they do discuss that last part. This episode does contain *SPOILERS* for Krull. This podcast may contain STRONG LANGUAGE and ADULT THEMES. Not Recommended for children. This episode is Rated R. On The Movies We've Never Seen Podcast, we talk about a movie that one or more of the hosts have not seen. In the fist half of the episode, we talk about our pre-viewing thoughts, expectations and impressions about it punctuated by a small trivia quiz and other fun facts. We then give the movie a tentative rating (on a scale of 0-5 Snake Plisskens) based on the discussion. We then come to the intermission, where we take a break and watch the film in question. In the second half we have a similar conversation and discuss our post-viewing thoughts and see how right, wrong or on the nose we were about the film and give it our final rating. linktr.ee/CatchingUpOnCinema It's October, so that means it's once again time for Catching Up On Cinema's annual, “Kyle's Killer October” event month! All month long, Catching Up On Cinema's resident horror enthusiast, Kyle, will be taking creative control of the program, offering up new reviews for a wide variety of horror flicks from week to week. This week, Kyle and Trevor review Alexandre Aja's, Haute/High Tension (2003)! An early film in the unofficial, “New French Extremity” movement of the 2000's, Alexandre Aja's Haute/High Tension (2003) is a slickly produced, beautifully shot, and exceptionally brutal home invasion thriller with a novel twist. Best experienced without spoilers, the film is nevertheless a very taut and immediate experience, such that it proves a worthwhile horror experience, even divorced from its twists and gimmicks. It's there's one thing we know about the boys of Dark Night of the Podcast, it's that they love themselves a proper, masculine, truck-driving lesbian! And few lesbians read quite as lesbianic as the androgynous and truly badass Marie from the ever-divisive 2003 French gore-fest High Tension. This early Alexandre Aja title has caused much contention amongst horror fans and for good reason; it throws a serious curveball at its viewers that has led to many a raised eyebrow and plenty of room for debate. But controversies aside, this movie also offers viewers some truly intense moments of drawn out suspense, a cement saw vs a car windshield, a man receiving oral pleasures from a decapitated head, and one of the best executions of a throat cutting to date. What's not to like?! The tension is high this week over at Dark Night of the Podcast, and that's exactly how Troy and Roger like it! This week the GraveTalk crew head to the hills.... (we couldn't resist. sorry). We watched the remake of Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes [2006]. Packed with more mutants than our normal family trips, this remake from Alexandre Aja, had us wondering 'should we just write off the whole desert at this point'? Only way way to know, press play & find out!
This week, the 2 Guys 5 Movies podcast continues their journey through each year of 2000s horror movies. Frank's list for 2003 includes a series of foreign movies and one American: Takashi Miike's Gozu, Alexandre Aja's High Tension, Park Ki-hyung's little-known Acacia Park, Kim Jee-woon's A Tale of Two Sister's, and the much-anticipated-at-the-time Freddy vs. Jason. Finally, if you have your own ideas for the podcast, you can also email us with list suggestions at 2guys5movies@gmail.com, and thank you all for listening and your support.
