It's the 150th episode of Lost and Sound and I'm joined by the legendary DJ and producer Laurent Garnier, who this week releases his epic Fabric Presents Mix, celebrating 25 years of the London superclub.Garnier famously checks out 400+ tracks a day, and we discuss how he sustains his passion for music amidst an avalanche of daily releases. He underscores the relentless pursuit of musical treasures, maintaining that even in a saturated market, gems persist. Garnier also reflects on the evolution of DJ culture and music trends, highlighting the significance of resisting nostalgia and embracing fresh tracks while acknowledging the challenges posed by technological advances in music distribution. Our conversation also touches on the nuances of today's techno scene, where commercial and underground elements often blur, not always in the best way. Garnier's approach shifts towards intimate venues that prioritize artistic expression over mainstream success. Lastly, we celebrate Fabric's 25th anniversary with Garnier's contribution: a mix for each of Fabric's rooms and a special "fourth room" mix for home listeners. Garnier is also a keen cook, and we draw on the parralels between clubs and restaurants, and how good resident DJs fulfull the same need for the culture as good chefs do. I loved hearing his insights into maintaining a successful DJ career, understanding crowd dynamics, and the intricacies of performing for different audiences. If you like what I'm doing with Lost and Sound, please like, rate, review or subscribe to the show on your podcast app of choice – it really does help.fabric presents Laurent Garnier: celebrating 25 years of fabric. Podcast Overview: In this conversation, Will Clarke, Huxley, and Ramin Rezaie discuss the evolution of the music industry over the past decade, emphasizing the importance of community building, engagement, and authenticity. They explore the role of luck in achieving success, the challenges posed by the streaming landscape, and the diminishing relevance of curators. The discussion also touches on the need for artists to understand their value in the business and the launch of a new platform aimed at supporting artists in their development.Who Is Huxley: Huxley aka Michael Dodman is one of the hardest working producers and DJs out there. Originally weaned on a classic British diet of house, garage and techno, he's continually buffing his sound via increasingly high profile DJ sets and a steady string of well received singles and EPs. Huxley has plunged his beats deeper and wider to incorporate more of his influences through releases for some of electronic music's best loved imprints including Tsuba, Morris Audio, Fear of Flying, Hypercolour and 20:20 Vision.Who Is Ramin Rezaie: British talent Ramin Rezaie is known all over Europe and further afield for his energetic House / Tech House / Minimal Deep Tech. With a great performance background he's played at some of the world's most reputable clubs including Fabric London, DC10, Studio 338, Privilege Ibiza, EGG London. Influenced by everything from Funk and Hip-Hop to avant-garde electronica. Ramin's prominence is on musical depth rather than genre boundaries. His approach to the skilled art of DJing is unorthodox and unique, expect hypnotic journeys accompanied by his signature produced stripped back RAW grooves with hard kicks, trembling sub baselines, sharp synths accompanied by soulful vocal cuts. With all this being said it's no surprise that his productions receive regular support from the heavy hitters including Jamie Jones, Richy Ahmed, Solardo, Dennis Cruz, Reelow, PAWSA and Michael Bibi to name just a few.Join for updates: https://laylo.com/willclarke⏲ Follow Will Clarke ⏱https://djwillclarke.com/https://open.spotify.com/artist/1OmOdgwIzub8DYPxQYbbbi?si=hEx8GCJAR3mhhhWd_iSuewhttps://www.instagram.com/djwillclarkehttps://www.facebook.com/willclarkedjhttps://twitter.com/djwillclarkehttps://www.tiktok.com/@djwillclarke Hosted on Acast. Risa Taniguchi is arriving at the forefront of the dark techno wave that has washed over the underground in recent years. The Tokyo born - and based - artist has spent the last four years cultivating a lo-fi sound of distorted textures, fizzing synths and a quietly burning energy, which consumes all who hear it. Preferring to play sets which are "late night, for the weirdos", Risa has a knack for getting crowds in a nocturnal trance, before delivering shocks and surprises with a curious motif or unpredictable element. For those who like to cut loose in a dark environment, she is the perfect selector. In the studio as well as the club, Risa focuses on the drums, programming kicks that bring visceral and often aggressive thrills next to a uniquely addictive layer of well designed snares and hi hats. Her signature has become her own subtle and intriguing vocal samples, best heard on Slipped My Mind and Enclozed. She adds layers of acid bass and an always raw, edgy aesthetic. Having experienced them first hand whilst living in London, in 2010, Risa also has an enduring love of underground UK bass sounds, which can be heard in many of her tracks. The multi-talented act is also formally trained and a skilled player of the piano, who continues to play daily. She is a "classical music nerd" too, but of course prefers to explore the minor rather than major end of the scales. Since her first release back in 2018, Risa has attracted high profile interest from A-list players Amelie Lens, Dense & Pika, Pan Pot, Perc and Daniel Avery; has hit the Top 5 of the Beatport's Leftfield Techno Chart and played everywhere from SXSW Festival in the US to De Marktkantine in Amsterdam, Watergate in Berlin and of course all the most revered spaces all across Japan including Contact, Womb, and Vent. Despite the pandemic, 2020 has proven to be a high watermark for Risa as she has delivered a continuous flow of new music, primarily on Pan Pot's Second State and on Dense & Pika's Kneaded Pains. With both of these mighty techno duos giving Risa their support and platforms, it has enabled her to start taking her first major footsteps into Europe, picking up her first headline bookings in Hungary and the UK. BRYAN BLACK aka BLACK ASTEROID started his music career as a sound designer and keyboard tech for PRINCE at PAISLEY PARK STUDIOS in his hometown of Minneapolis. While working for Prince, black proceeded to create his own music- some of the most innovative techno records released on labels such as MUTE and KOMPAKT. These records caught the ear of MARTIN GORE from DEPECHE MODE. Soon after, Black was on tour with Depeche Mode with his band MOTOR, and recording songs with Martin Gore at his home studio in Santa Barbara and Berlin. Together Black and Gore wrote a top 40 single “Man Made Machine”. In 2011 the debut BLACK ASTEROID single, “Engine 1” introduced Black Asteroid to the world, and introduced an industrial rock sound into techno that quickly took off, propelling Black to play at clubs such as Berghain, Fabric London and major festivals. The focus was in favor of song structures and vocals in a techno template.
After a string of EPs, the debut album “Thrust” was released in 2017 with many cross over singles, featuring vocals from ZOLA JESUS, COLD CAVE and MICHELE LAMY. The fashion designer RICK OWENS picked up on what was happening, and used Black's music for his runway shows in Paris. The two quickly became friends and collaborators.
Currently Black Asteroid is prepping a new album and several EPs, in addition to working in the fashion world, having just released a collection of sunglasses with Valley Eyewear, and music for Raf Simons and Rick Owens.

John Tejada on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 6/28/22 About John Tejada - Normally associated with his peers in techno from Detroit, Europe and elsewhere, John Tejada has embraced electronic music as a personal frontier, expanding on his resume as a techno recording artist as producer, remixer, DJ, and label owner. Known for crafting a brand of subtle, musical techno, his recorded output ranges across tempo and genre lines, from chilled out affairs with spacious arrangements to pulsating, densely layered, deeply energetic tracks that work magnificently in the hands of DJs as well as on the home stereo. John Tejada was born in Vienna, Austria on April 21, 1974. His parents, both professional classical musicians (his mother an opera singer and father a conductor) began his early piano training at the age of 4. In the summer of 1982, John would move with his mother to her place of birth, Los Angeles. It was that summer at the age of 8 another instrument would catch his eye, the drums. Teaching himself to play along to classic rock music, John quickly learned his way around the drum set (an instrument he still plays to this day in his I'm Not A Gun project).  Everything changed however when he got his first taste of early 80's hip hop music. The impact of those early productions and electronic experimentation was very strong. Soon after, at the age of 12 John was given his first set of turntables and a mixer. He wanted to figure out everything he was hearing DJs do at that time. His first gigs came at the age of 12 for his own school, DJing his school dances. Soon after his fascination with DJing began his fascination with production began. Just as he was completely determined to learn the tricks of local DJs, he now wanted to know how the music was made. His introduction came around the age of 15, when he acquired his first looping delay. Soon after came his first workstation, an Ensoniq EPS sampler. This opened up a whole new world of possibilities. John spent every part of his day honing his craft. In 1991, while still in high school, John was already recording his first productions. He was also involved in college radio, even though he was just a junior in high school. John had a spot on “The Fly ID Show” with DJ Rob One. John produced the show's first record for Rob and also went on to do some hip hop production on Ruthless Records. It was during this time that he met his long time collaborator and best friend Arian Leviste.  The two met at a hip hop recording session in ‘91. John, already tired of the hip hop scene and where it was going, spent hours talking to Arian about acid house, techno, ambient house and everything they seemed to have in common. The two agreed they would meet weekly to compose material. It took some time before they would release any music, but in 1994 they pressed up their own single and that started a chain reaction of releases. John and Arian during this time also were accepted into CalArts' (California Institute for the Arts) electronic music program, but both decided not to attend to hone their craft on their own. Soon after, John enjoyed a series of releases on European labels like A13, Multiplex, and Generations R&S. In the fall of 1996 he started his own label, Palette Recordings as an outlet to release his own productions without having anyone tell him how to do it. The demand for his music continued to grow and labels such as Ferox, Sino, Mosaic, Immigrant, Plug Research, Pokerflat and 7th City all released Tejada 12”s. John began traveling internationally in ‘97 to showcase his DJ skills around the globe, traveling to more than 25 countries and playing various clubs and festivals around the world. Festivals included Movement (formerly The Detroit Electronic Music Festival), Sonar Festival (in Spain and Tokyo), Dance Valley (Netherlands), Sync Festival (Greece), Mutek Mexico, as well as internationally known spaces such as Fabric (London), Yellow (Tokyo), Rex Club (Paris), The Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles) and many more. In 1999, John met classical jazz guitarist Takeshi Nishimoto, which was the beginning of another musical frontier. The two had a similar meeting as John and Arian had years before and began talking about making music. The project I'm Not A Gun was born and signed soon after to Berlin-based City Center Offices. This project would bring back John's own training as a drummer while also trying his hand at the guitar. The project became a mix of John's own electronic productions along with Takeshi's professional guitar playing and John's drumming. The project has enjoyed great reviews and success the world over and the duo has performed live in LA, Japan and Germany. In the summer of 2004, John would - in one week - create the two songs that would catapult his techno career. The classic “Sweat On The Walls,” and “Mono On Mono” were released almost at the same time on two different labels. “Sweat” was released on Pokerflat and “Mono On Mono” on Palette. Together the two records sold over 23,000 copies on vinyl. This lead to the equally successful follow up singles “Paranoia,” “Mind Bend” (with more recent collaborator and Palette-signing, Justin Maxwell) “Voyager,” and “The End Of It All.” With dozens of singles and remixes to his credit, he has also produced full-length albums for Playhouse, Palette, Plug Research, deFocus, Moods and Grooves, Immigrant and A13. Pete Moss and Colette on the "Virtual Sessions" presented by The DJ Sessions 2/27/21 Pete and Colette talking about their collaboration album "THE DAYS" A Retrospective Part 1" and other things... About Pete Moss - Philadelphia based Pete Moss knows a thing or two about house music having traveled the world in search of the ultimate underground dance floors, and releasing over 150 projects on top labels such as, Ovum, Dessous, ALola, Definity, Large, Seamless, I records, MN2's, Acryl and dozens of others, including his own underground Recline imprint.  Known as one of the finest late night/underground Dj's on the map, crushing it at Fabric London, La Terrazza Barcelona, Roxy Prague, Salon Daome Montreal, Harlot San Francisco, King King L.A, The Arches GLasgow, La Santanera PDC Mexico, Rioma Mexico City, Smartbar Chicago, Living Room Miami, among others, Pete has a reputation for giving his all at every gig and leaving people touched and inspired by his signature deep and eclectic sound. Candy Talk Records kicked off 2021 with its twenty-second release, featuring the first in a two part retrospective compilation "The Days", from label favorite, Philly's deep house aficionado, Pete Moss. This two-part retrospective compiled by label head Colette features some of Moss' most memorable moments, with many tracks originally only available in limited quantities. These hand chosen tracks have all been remastered for today's modern fidelity. Part one of this series features an eclectic collection of sounds and moods. From the dubbed out aesthetics of tracks like "So Sweet", "2012", and "All Ova the World", to the spaced out elemental disco-tinged "Turn U Back" and "Back in the Daze", this is just scraping the surface of this release's brilliance. Paring the sweet and subtle spatial delicacy of "Too Soon", "I See the Beauty", and his rework of "Dreams feat. Colette" with the emotive tracks like the deep and driving "Rain Day" or "Solutionz", this compilation is a true testament to the exploratory musical magic that has become a benchmark of the sound of Pete Moss.   About Colette - Always seeking to push boundaries and explore new territories, Chicago native DJ Colette, continues to discover ways to push her craft and career forward even after over two decades of leading the pack. A founding member of the pioneering DJ collective Superjane—along with DJ Heather, Lady D, and Dayhota—Colette has been an integral part of the Midwest underground since the birth of the 90s. Crafting events in Chicago—ones that would see most of Chicago's second generation of house music artists and DJs graduate to global scales—her Material events at the storied club Shelter in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood were seminal in the development of the house sound of Chicago's North Side, from the early 1990s on. Colette's groundbreaking combination of incorporating her live vocals over into DJ sets became her signature and a definitive technique that's won her fans from six continents. As a natural extension of her formative musical academia at Lane Tech College Prep, she began making recordings, with her first release appearing on 1995's “Moments of Epiphany” produced by Mazi & DJ Motion for Shroom Records. With an ever-increasing velocity of singles released for independent mainstays such as Icon Recordings, Moody Recordings, Nordic Trax, Brique Rouge, including Derrick Carter's seminal Classic Music Company, eventually led to recording two successful full-length efforts—2005's Hypnotized and 2007's Push—for San Franciso's legendary imprint OM Records. With multiple Dancestar Awards, commercial licenses, TV placements, and a Top #5 Billboard Hit, Colette was ready to make the next move in her career from not only just making records and playing them, but the upward motion to releasing them as well. About "The DJ Sessions" - “The DJ Sessions" is a online/downloadable series featuring the hottest electronic music DJ's with live mixes and interviews, streamed live to a global audience. Since then, Colette has personally released eight singles and two full-length efforts of her own work—2013's crowd-funded When The Music's Loud (named one of Vice's 99 greatest dance albums of all time) and 2017's Retrospective. Releasing remixed and original works from the likes of Gettoblaster, Sonny Fodera, Late Nite Alumni, Lawnchair Generals, Rubb Sound System, Scrubfish, WhiteNoize, Demarkus Lewis, Chuck Love, Golf Clap, Local Options, Change Request, and more she has created a home for other like-minded creators to have a platform for their work. With an ever-growing roster of musicians, producers, and DJs, 2019—thus far—has seen Candy Talk release East Coast production stalwart Pete Moss' mixes of Colette's “Dreams”, which peaked at #4 on the Traxsource Deep House Top 100. Establishing a remix series highlighting particular producers, Candy Talk has released two volumes in this series thus far with The Rubb Sound System Remixes (CTR015) and The Gettoblaster Remixes (CTR016), and The Demarkus Lewis Remixes (CTR018) featuring his reworks of "Call On Me", “Dreams”, and “We Feel So Hot” slated for the last quarter of 2019. Looking forward, the label anticipates celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2020 with a compilation centered around the best of the Candy Talk catalog—including some new tracks—(CTR019) in the first half of the new year.

From his bedroom belt drive turntables, to his first tentative gig at a student party, phased by a pair of 1210s, to small bar sessions around 1999/2000, his first big break was a party in an MOT Test Centre somewhere on the outskirts of London. Rundell has steadily built his following and his skill and has now played alongside such luminaries as Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox, Ben Sims, Luke Slater, Danny Tenaglia, Joseph Capriati, Pan-Pot and Dubfire. His calendar is a collection of major festivals and iconic clubs; from Fabric London, Space Ibiza (one of the few artists to have played in every room at the club over the 12 years he was a regular guest), Output (NYC), Zig Zag (Paris), Kristal Glam (RO), to Sunwaves (RO), Awakenings, Glastonbury, BPM, Ultra Miami, and regular stints in South America. Rundell doesn’t follow trends, adhering to his own beliefs and interests both on and off the dancefloor. As a prominent spokesperson, from publicly voicing his opinions and showing his support for Fabric after their recent temporary closure, to various panel appearances at Amsterdam Dance Event and Brighton Music Conference, Rundell speaks his mind. As a DJ, the Belgian embraces his heimat's rich cultural history and as a consequence, he is known to be an eclectic selector. Techno in the widest sense of the word, all-inclusive without restrictions to BPM. Before long this attitude created a reputation which deemed desirable and was followed by an ongoing string of successes: appearances at some of the most favoured clubs and festivals around the world such as Fabric London, Fuse Brussels, Dour Festival, Gare Porto, Kompass Klub in Ghent, Aquasella Festival, Terminal 7 in Paris, Monasterio in Moscow, Fabrik Madrid, Spazio Novecento in Rome, Mixed Munich Arts and Extrema Festival. https://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/farrago https://www.facebook.com/farragolenske/ https://soundcloud.com/frrgo Listen to all Slam Radio shows here https://soundcloud.com/soma/sets/slam-radio facebook.com/Slam.soma instagram.com/slam_djs twitter.com/slamdjs slam-djs.com Subscribe on Spotify: bit.ly/SlamRadioOnSpotify Subscribe on iTunes: itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/slam-radio/id584845850 Slam Radio is produced at http://www.glowcast.co.uk For syndication or radio queries, email conor@somarecords.com and contact@syndicast.co.uk

With a stunning Vivrant debut in his remix on Jeremy's 'Caravelle' we're very happy to welcome him to the label.

Placing Blakkat in the hottest clubs around will be Barcelona based Common People. He will build on this partnership further through various projects with the boys from Spain. I'm A House Gangster presents The Gangstercast

Gangstercast 58 comes from French house DJ/producer ‘Giom’   ‘Funky, eclectic, quirky, smooth, melodic, yet always bumpy with a solid groove…’ It’s not easy trying to define the sound that Giom has created for himself over the years but when you attend one of his energetic DJ sets, sample one of his many remixes or dance to one of his chart-topping #1 singles, the message becomes clear: Giom is here to make you move your feet. And maybe that’s why the London-based Frenchman’s music has been supported by such an impressive list of the world’s best DJs, from the underground kings to the big room soldiers, from Fedde Le Grand to DJ Sneak, Green Velvet to Joey Negro, David Vendetta to Jimpster, Mark Knight to Grant Nelson, Sharam Jey to Kolombo, it seems everybody needs a bit of the Giom sound in their DJ sets.   In the Summer of 2014, his song “Dr. Zapp" topped the Beatport Indie / NuDisco Top 100 and to this day still remains in the Top 50. And at the end of 2014, Giom was Beatport’s 25th most downloaded Nu Disco artist and was voted Traxsource’s 29th most important Deep House artist of the year.  Giom has worked, released, toured and collaborated with the likes of Riva Starr, Joey Negro, Fred Everything, Loulou Records, Toolroom and Defected Records. He has also headlined some of the world’s best clubs such as Fabric (London), Privilege (Ibiza), LIV (Buenos Aires), 360 (Dubai) and has performed in over 30 countries.  Away from house music, Giom’s preferred spot is behind the drum kit, which has seen him touring and recording for the likes of Alice Russell, The Nextmen and Kasabian.    Asking Giom how this mix represented him as an artist, he commented; “This mix is old school, mixed with new school, vinyl and digital, sexy, funky, silly, French and quite laid back. Like me!”  Giom describes the House Gangster sound as “an urban/ghetto/attitude take on the sound we all love” When we asked Giom, What does House music mean to you? He replied with, “House music is something I can't explain, it's a feeling, a hypnotic groove, it's a movement. I mean, even bad house music makes me want to dance, that's how much I love it.”    Telling us how he compiled this mix, he says, “I chose tracks that reminded of how I felt when I used to listen to DJ Sneak many years ago, but also some that represent me today and try to showcase who I am and what I'm about.”

Gangstercast 49 comes from Toronto-based Nathan Barato. Nathan Barato is a Toronto favourite and has been a staple in the city’s underground scene for more than 15 years. Early into his career, his ability behind the decks was quickly recognized by industry peers and fans alike, landing him residencies at some of Toronto’s most established nightclubs, including the iconic Guvernment nightclub, Footwork and Mad Bar. Musically, Nathan’s range dabbles in many genres, going back to his early influences of 90’s garage, and ranging to many spans of house and techno. His music has been released on some of the most prestigious labels in the industry, including Hot Creations, Rekids, Cajual, Saved Records, MOOD, Defected, Suara, Inmotion, Snatch, and of course, his very own Roots And Wings Music. As Nathan Barato continues to turn industry eyes and ears in his direction, he remains a well-respected and sought after name. He’s been booked to play some of the largest events and clubs around the world, including Womb Tokyo, Stereo Montreal, DC-10 Ibiza, Amnesia Ibiza, Fabric London, Coda Toronto, Output New York, and Magazzini Generali in Milan to name a few. Nathan recently enjoyed a summer spent in Ibiza where he held residency at arguably the largest party of the summer, Marco Carola’s legendary Music On. Nathan was also invited to play Music On in Mexico, Milan and Miami, as well as Jamie Jones’ Paradise in Ibiza. While Nathan’s career has him busy playing in cities around the globe, he remains proud to call Toronto home. He explains that this mix represents him well as him as an artist, because it was taken live from Coda for his recent open to close set. “I think it shows my versatility, timing and flow” says Nathan. CODA nightclub is in Toronto, Canada where Nathan lives. It is one of the only underground clubs in the city. It used to be called Footwork which is where Nathan use to play a lot, also with Carlo Lio, another Toronto house music hero.   He describes the House Gangster sound as “raw, fast and fun”. When asked what the House gangster movement meant to him, he replies; “To me, it means be yourself, believe in yourself and fuck everyone else.”   Nathan would like to give a special mention about this mix, in saying “Thankyou to the people that were at Coda and giving me good vibes to influence me in the way they did.”

It's our honour to present our Next Guest For (February 7, 2014) . The super Deep House DJ/Producer SIOPIS from Berlin, Germany. (Get Physical Music / Crosstown Rebels) One may indentify Jannis Siopis as the former Silversurfer from Crosstown Rebels, a rather raw, dark and mysterious lad in his early days. His roots derive from a traditional Greek background in a modern German setting. A classical love affair with his clarinet and trumpet later coincided with his creative talent for breakdancing, graffiti art and spinning records, ultimately, landing him DJ gigs in small clubs in Germany. In 1997 he moved to Berlin, where his musical career was launched into full swing. His unmatched DJ sets were part of the soundtrack of the uprising electronic music metropolis. Siopis' stages were underground clubs and Illegal off-location parties in east Berlin. In 2003 it was time for the next step. Missing real special sounds in his dj bag, he wanted to fill this gap by creating his own music. Years of impressions & melting profoundly with Berlins nightlife made his creativity arouse very quickly in the studio. After only 3 months in the studio his very first track "Welcome to Berlin" was born. It immediately hit the electronic music scene in its core and became an anthem for the city. Causing worldwide a stir amongst many recognized artists and labels, Damian Lazarus was one of the first who picked up on this uprising talent. A Silversurfer production became Crosstown Rebels' first release. In the following years he toured all around the world playing in more than 30 different countries at venues like Fabric London, Back to Basics in Leeds and Space Ibiza. His DJ Sets and Live Acts with Kiki set a unique brandmark on the electronic music landscape. In 2008 he felt the need for a time-out. The mexican jungle provided the perfect environment for this. Living there insulated for several months he connected deeply with nature and himself. Awakening new creative energy led him to the decision to start a new project: SIOPIS. Returning to Berlin he had several successful releases such as "Penny from the Lane" & "Really love ya" on Get Physical and the recently released Masterplan EP on Crosstown Rebels' offshooting label Rebellion. Currently he is working on new material for Get Physical and Crosstown Rebels next to taking care of his own imprint MANGALI Find more about SIOPIS at the following links: SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/siopis Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/SIOPIS/152144634848269 Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/artist/siopis/87219 ONE OF SIOPIS TOP HITS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k8hXM1d-d8&list=PL8C0AC71CBEB41ECF&index=10

Track List: Live DJ Set Biography: Guy Gerber has been stirring up electronic audiences with his anthem releases and live shows for quite some time. After countless productions for major labels, dance ensembles and electro rock bands, which earned him many awards and praises, Guy was ready for a major hit. His universally embraced single on Bedrock Records, Stoppage Time, became the stand out anthem of the year at the likes of Cocoon at Amnesia, and DC 10. The single has surpassed the 5-digit mark in sales and continues to shift by the truckload, and to appear on numerous compilations. Last summer's success led to Guy joining the Cocoon family. First came This Is Balagan, which attracted Sven’s attention to Guy’s unique melodies and production skills. Then came Sea of Sand, collaboration with Shlomi Aber, which appeared on Cocoon’s Compilation F, with its breathtaking memorable melody, that introduced Guy’s production to a wide new range of electronic audiences. When the single came out, accompanied by After Love, Guy was already spotted as the hottest name around. On New Year’s Eve 2007, Guy introduced to the world his new live show, rocking major events and festivals, such as Time Warp, Blue & Green, WMC SAMC, Sonar, SMS and many more. His tour included the electronic scene's most prestigious clubs, such as Fabric London, Panorama Berlin, Bar/Berghain Berlin, Amensia Ibiza, Cocoon Frankfurt, Goa Rome as well as South America and Asia. While touring with his live show, Guy was busy working on two other projects, which played a major roll in his life: The first was his album, Late Bloomers, which demonstrates Guy's vast knowledge of the history of music, was released on Cocoon May 2007, and was supported by a world tour; The other is Guy's self imprint, Supplement Facts, now a favorite of some of the biggest DJs around. An addict to his studio work, Guy continues to work on his follow up album and new releases, while still touring the biggest clubs and festivals in the world.

The Terrace Podcast Presents a Special Guest from The Desolat Family : Episode 175: Yaya In the era of digital revolution, the geography of individual stories draws the lines which blend cultures, lifestyles and different rhythms. Yaya's geography unravels on three essential cardinal points: Benin, where the roots of his African blood come from, Torino and Ibiza, places of training and achievements. Within Yaya's electronic work, the echoes of his aphrodisiac background, of a clearly tribal African nature, mix with the sunny Balearic rhythms of new house, deepened through several summers in Ibiza. Yaya grew up in Torino, in the resonant Babylon which was his home, where the rhythms of his father's drums, singer and leading voice of the renowned group M'bamina, ensemble lining up Italian musicians coming from Zaire, Cameroon and Benin, prophesied a multi-ethnic Italy. With rhythm in his blood, Yaya approaches the sound turmoil which is setting the kinetic nights of Torino's underground on fire and falls in love with electronic music. Like a child lost in the minimal wave overcoming the techno house scores, Yaya spent his summers in the mid 2000s within Ibiza's electronic ferment. On the white Island his vivacity lead him to play at several afterhours and his musical assertiveness, reflecting his heterogeneous origins, allowed him to be noticed by the enterpreneurs of the white island's big electronic circus. An electronic mix combining a full commitment towards all techno house dialogue's horizons seasoned with tribal influences soaked with an intrusive sound of Italian demand: this is the identikit of the afro-sabaudian lion's sound. Yaya became part of the Zoo Project in the summer of 2009; the following winter, on Friday nights next to the river Po, Yaya's roar sets the nights on fire during his slot at Savana Potente. In the afternoons, Yaya spends hours mixing synths of his hybrid sound, storing up a vast library of tracks. The arias of Yaya's scores reach the ears of Loco Dice, who falls in love with the Afro Latin rumba of Fresca de l'Agua and decides to record the Vecute ep. Yaya thus becomes part of the Desolat family. In December 2009 Do you know Telespalla? is his track in the Desolat X Sampler, double vinyl signed by all the artists of the German academy: Loco Dice, Martin Buttrich, tINI, Guti, Livio & Roby. In 2010, thanks to Desolat and Zoo project, Yaya lands in the big meccas of European electronic music: Miami Music Conference, Sonar Barcelona, Fabric London, the Iarmaroc Fest in Romania, the Bermuda festival in Berlin, Goa in Barcelona , Sankeys in Manchester, Mint in Leeds, Silo in Liverpool, Mad in Lousanne, Cocoricò, Magazzini Generali in Italy... In the 2010 summer season in Ibiza, Yaya plays weekly with his residency at the Zoo Project, at the We Love Savana Potente at Space on August 15, and at Ushuaia at the tINI & the gang during Desolat's Wednesday. During Autumn 2010 Yaya spends his weekends alternating between the Independent Republic of Savana Potente, his gigs around Europe and playing often with Loco Dice around Italy. For Christmas 2010 Loco Dice puts the second Desolat X Sampler under the tree in the Desolat offices of Hoffeld Strasse in Dusseldorf: Talk to your heart is Yaya's track, which fulfills the work of the Desolat ensemble, set up by Dice, Martin Buttrich, Guti, Livio & Roby and which features the collaboration of big names with guests such as: Dj Sneak, Frank Roger, George G. ( third member of Prominesku together with Livio & Roby) and Audiofly (who sign their track together with Guti). In 2011, the housedisiac roar of the afro sabaudian lion is ready to make all electronic Europe bounce. www.theterracepodcast.com
