Et pour tous ceux qui en font la visite, guidés par la voix de Charlotte, quelle surprise, quel choc, de découvrir non pas le provocateur Gainsbarre superstar des années 80, à l'alcool mauvais, mais le vrai Serge Gainsbourg, celui de La Javanaise, sensible, touchant.Et donc, 35 ans après sa disparition, que peut-on encore raconter sur lui qui n'ait été dit ?, - vous allez me dire. Et ben justement, c'est ce qu'on vous propose cette semaine, comme on a toujours fait.Vous entendez ? A travers le volet baissé, ce piano ? C'est Serge qui compose. Nous sommes en 1975, et mis à part les passages radio de Je suis venu te dire que je m'en vais, Serge est à nouveau en panne de succès. Son Je t'aime moi non plus en 1969 a été sans lendemain. Pire, un chef d'œuvre comme L'histoire de Melody Nelson a été un cinglant échec commercial. Oh il a signé pas mal de hits récemment mais ce sont toujours des chansons écrites pour les autres, des femmes, Jane Birkin, en premier.Seul bémol, l'incroyable titre qu'il vient écrire pour que sa copine Dani le chante à l'Eurovision a été refusé : trop provocateur ! Serge s'est vexé, pas question de changer quoi que ce soit. Alors pour se prouver qu'il peut faire un tube comme il veut, quand il veut, il a enregistré L'ami caouette. Gros succès évidemment, tout le monde le lui demande, même les gosses dans la rue, l'apostrophent en disant : Hé, l'ami Caouette !Le fond du fond est atteint quand, un soir au restaurant, il sympathise avec le maître d'hôtel et sort avec lui après son service boire des coups. Bonne ambiance avec ce partenaire de ribote d'un soir. Et si on allait boire le dernier chez moi ? OK ! Arrivés chez lui, le fameux maître d'hôtel dit alors sur le ton d'un ordre : Et maintenant, tu vas me chanter l'Ami Caouette ! Ah non mon p'tit père, je ne chante que pour du blé et jamais en privé, pas même dans ma salle de bain. Le gars furibard saisit alors un fusil de chasse et crie : Tu vas chanter l'ami Caouette, oui ou merde ! Gainsbourg sans se démonter prend Jane par la main et lui dit : allez, on se casse. Voilà ce qui se passe quand on chante des conneries. Et dire qu'ils n'ont pas voulu de son Boomerang, c'est pourtant pas la chanson de tout le monde. Il a raison Serge, et pourtant, on va mettre des décennies avant de l'entendre.

Put ice in a Collins glass, pour in 1½ oz. St Germain, 2 oz white or sparkling wine (we used Sauvignon Blanc), 2 oz. club soda. Stir and top with a lemon twist. That's it – you are done. Enjoy. Then float ½ oz. red wine by pouring slowly over the back of a bar spoon. Garnish with a lime wedge.We both loved the St. Germain Cocktail and rated it a 5 and a 4.
