This episode happened to be recorded on International Women's Day and it's very fitting because these two women are killing it as entrepreneurs in the fashion industry. Thus, they absolutely deserve to have the spotlight shown on them, their partnership, and their fast-growing brand. Mary Ralph Lawson and Kennedy Crichlow are best friends and Co-Founders of Daily Drills, an apparel company designed by and for women who find adventure in every day. The pair decided to launch Daily Drills less than two years ago and have already seen sell-out after sell-out. Not to mention, they're only in their mid-twenties and have never gone to fashion school… so how did they do it? In this discussion, Mary, Kennedy, and Chase talk about owning and scaling a business with your best friend, overcoming the fear and uncertainty you face after graduating from college, and how to move forward out of failure. Plus, they share an amazing story of how a business crisis turned into a key learning opportunity for them. In this week's episode, BossBabe business duo, Mary Ralph Lawson and Kennedy Crichlow, have joined Sabrina Riccio to share their entrepreneurial knowledge with fellow sacred disruptors. Mary and Kennedy are the perfect example of how you can remain friends with your business partner and create a company with each other that consistently relays positivity well into the community. In this episode we talked about... ◆ Breaking stigmas about doing business with friends ◆ The future of sustainable business + the rise of ethical brands ◆ How faith plays a significant role in Mary Ralph and Kennedy's journey growing Daily Drills ◆ How to differentiate yourself in an oversaturated market ◆ How systems can help you scale, grow and cultivate work-life balance ◆ Having more inclusion in the world of fashion ...plus so much more Discover Daily Drills, Mary Ralph Lawson and Kennedy Crichlow Daily Drills is the new lifestyle destination for transitional pieces that effortlessly move you through every moment in style. In 2020, amidst a global pandemic, best friends and entrepreneurial spirits Kennedy Crichlow (Kenn) and Mary Ralph Lawson (Ralph), spotted a niche space in the ever-growing leisure industry. It was obvious to the duo that shoppers were getting more selective with their purchasing decisions and apparel with only one use-case no longer held appeal for savvy, sustainability-driven consumers who needed their closets to work harder. Their Daily Drills logo, which sits fiercely on their signature pieces, has been the symbol of their mission: simplifying getting dressed and blurring the lines between workout-wear, lounge-wear, business-wear, and everything in between. ◆ SOCIAL LINKS ◆ WEBSITE | https://shopdailydrills.com (https://shopdailydrills.com) INSTAGRAM | DAILY DRILLS | https://www.instagram.com/dailydrills/ (https://www.instagram.com/dailydrills/) INSTAGRAM | MARY RALPH | https://www.instagram.com/maryralph/ (https://www.instagram.com/maryralph/) INSTAGRAM | KENNEDY CRICHLOW | https://www.instagram.com/kennedycrichlow/ (https://www.instagram.com/kennedycrichlow/) TIKTOK | https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMREUqs56/ (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMREUqs56/) YOUTUBE | https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChhZnK5bsTLDdscrKoCyeVQ (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChhZnK5bsTLDdscrKoCyeVQ)

Good friend and Milanese heartthrob, Lele Sacchi returns to the SB guestmix series this week. The man knows his way around a house 12", having been in the game since the early '90s, bearing witness to the evolution of what we call house music. Lele also teaches musical history at his local polytechnic, so he's well placed, and even better versed, to take us on a journey through time. A couple months back we tasked him with digging through his collection to provide us with a soundtrack to the mid 90's... and hear lie the fruits of his labour. "I recorded this selecting only underground deep funk and jazzy house tunes from the mid 1990’s, when I started leaving breakbeat music behind and mixing only 4/4 music. It was a great moment for those genres, the US original sounds melted into the exploding UK sounds. In Milan, I was playing at legendary nights at Tunnel, Gasoline and then at Magazzini Generali which became one of Europe’s most important underground large venues. It was also a period when I started getting international recognition playing in Spain, France and UK with likeminded spirits as Ralph Lawson, DJulz, Jef K and the likes..." To know where we are going, we must first know where we have been...
On this episode I sat with Head Sugar Slinger Melissa Wedman. CEO of this fantastic caramel and toffee candy company which starts out of her fathers love for caramel. GO BUY HER CANDY! www.mollycoddledhashslinger.net Follow her on instagram @mollycoddledhashslinger ABOUTWhile we'd love to tell you that our story began in the early 1900's at our Head Sugar Daddy's great-uncle Andrew Wedman & great-uncle Ralph Lawson's Palace Confectionery in Yukon, OK (shown above)...we can't.Our vision has grown into the American dream of one day opening a brick-and-mortar location in our hometown of Yukon, OK. It was businesses like the Palace Confectionery that molded communities across the nation into what they are today. The businesses that made America great were the businesses that people drove from town to town to visit. The businesses that made America great were the businesses that relied on each other for survival, especially during tough times. Those businesses gave our nation the heartbeat we're often missing today. Our goal is to bring those qualities back to the communities we serve today. As we share our beginning and who we are today below, a few things will remain as the foundation of Mollycoddled Hash Slinger-- We will always source supplies and ingredients from other small businesses, especially those in our local community. We will always hand-craft our candies just as was done in the early years of our great nation. We will always provide you with candy that truly leaves an impression whether for yourself or as a gift. Above all, we will always work hard to provide you with a piece of the American dream. This podcast is made possible by the Made in Oklahoma Program. On this last episode we invited Act.Natural, they are a brand new DJ/production duo hailing from Leeds, formed through a long standing friendship and a mutual love of music. They found that both their tastes were along a similar line to one another whilst also still having very individual eclectic interests. They love everything from 90’s hip hop, to breakbeat through to disco and of course house music and everything in between. Act.Natural’s main aim is to create and deliver music in their own unique way and to do it how they want to do it, without having to succumb to the latest trends or 'the norm.' They've been big vinyl collectors for a number of years and they love nothing more than digging through record stores to find that one gem. They are constantly surprising each other with their track selection whenever they play and practice, yet manage to maintain a vibe and a groove fit for the party that they’re playing. Simply, Act.Natural is an expression and a vision of 2 personalities that have come together to create unique and interesting music along with the ability to deliver their own sound through their DJ sets. In March 2016, they won the coveted title of the 20/20 Vision DJ Competition and were hand picked by Ralph Lawson himself to play alongside him at the 20/20 Vision Easter Party. Off the back of this they’ve made a special guest appearance on KMAH Radio and have a string of remixes and original releases lined up for 2016. In 2008 I started a series of radio shows with fellow Freak and host, Jonny Rock. The original format was based around vinyl. Digital started to creep in, then CD's, then YouTube rips, and so on. But the idea remained the same, that we were sharing our discoveries with an audience. Fast forwarding a couple of years and expanding on the original concept, I will once again be playing dance music that you may or may not have heard, but this time said music will be readily available, if pointed in the right direction of course. The idea is for you to use me as your selector slash shop assistant in a virtual record store. Not only will I be shouting about both old and new music, but I will also be following it up with a series of compilations to be released on my label, Classic throughout the year. I will be your slightly odd, slightly off-centre, guide. But ultimately and most importantly, your friendly on-line record shop assistant. Tracklisting: 01. Welcome once again to Tomorrowland Sessions This time my Guest DJ is a very good friend and a fantastic DJ based in London, Clint Lee. The first hour of the show is my selection of Tech House, Techno and Deep House and after that, you can listen to the fantastic set of my good friend Clint Lee with an extraordinary combination of deep and sexy beats. It is worth to listen it! Clint Lee loves a little disturbing behavior; with roots in the richly cultured soil of Africa and a penchant for mind-bending minimal and tribal techno, he entices clubbers to twist in all sorts of distorted array, and has firmly embedded his name in London’s electronic jungle. Clint has played at some of the biggest club nights in London; with regular appearances for Zombie Soundsystem, Circo Loco, and regular appearances at Zoo Project and Underground in Ibiza since their inception. Guest appearances at some of London’s most solid event nights include, Vagabundos, Supernova, Jaded & Mixmag events playing alongside some of the biggest names in House and Techno including, Luciano, Guido Schneider, Loco Dice, Booka Shade, Reboot, Mathew Johnson, James Holden, Dan Genacia, Gui Boratto, Jamie Jones, Marc Houle, Timo Maas, Steve Bug, Ralph Lawson and Mr C to name a few… https://soundcloud.com/clint-lee https://www.facebook.com/clintleemusic *** My microphone broke while recording this episode, sorry for not putting any voice over. Everything will be back to normal on the next show *** Rodrigo Roura info & bookings > info@vagome.com

Episode 3 of the 22 Digit Deep Tech house podcast series featuring a tribute to Shindig's 21st birthday and a guest mix from Moodymanc. "Moodymanc" has become one of the most respected names in house music today. The cheeky monniker was given as a nickname to Danny Ward by his cohorts at 2020 Vision recordings due to his heavily jazz tinged productions and Mancunian roots (Danny was a Hacienda regular and performer back in the day) whilst he was producing his two widely acclaimed albums and may 12"s under the name "Dubble D" and as part of "2020 Soundsystem". The rest is house music history with the first series of 12"s on his own imprint through 2020Vision leading to releases on labels including Tsuba and Dessous (as well as 2020Vision itself), and underground 12"s on boutique labels including Landed, Abstract Theory and Fly By Night. The considerable success and response of these releases, not to mention his chart topping eps "Black Paint", "Joy" and "Father" have showcased his unique production skills and lead to him becoming one of the most in demand re-mixers around, keeping his name consistently in the bestseller and DJ charts and earning the respect of most of the big hitters on the scene, whilst his tribute re-work of Whitney Houston's "It's not right, but it's okay" continues to be an internet sensation. Danny's roots lie in his background as a jazz musician (he still regularly performs with some of Europe and the US's finest) leading him to gain work with such beat luminaries as Rae and Christian, the Pharcyde, Fila Brasilia and many more before taking the drum and production seats in 2020 soundsystem with Ralph Lawson and Silver City, this led him to perform and dj at some of the biggest clubs, dance events and festivals across the world and has seen him create a large media presence having graced the cover of DJ magazine and been featured in all the Dance music glossies as well as the underground blogs. 2013 is kicking off in fine style for Danny with Moodymanc re-mixes of 95 North's classic "Let Yourself Go" tearing up dancefloors and vinyl eps in line for spring release on Frole , Abstract Theory and Gimmick, plus a "Dubble D" ep on Dark Energy and further side projects and an album planned for later in the year. JMX is a name that seems to be cropping up all over the place at the minute, his tracks appearing in charts and mixes from the likes Ralph Lawson, Adam Shelton, Jordan Peak and Huxley. He has definitely got everyone talking and rightly so with his first ep dropping on 2020 Vision in April followed by a release on One Records plus tracks coming on a new label from Huxley and Nic Fanciulli's soon to be relaunched Deleted Records, 2012 is looking like a year JMX's name is going to ring out
It's no small order to fit 20 years of dance music milestones and history into an 8 and a half minute clip, but here it is. From being first to sign Daft Punk to their latest series of remixes, Slam introduce the backstory and method to one of the longest running labels in electronic music. Stories of early Soma memories with Ewan Pearson, Ralph Lawson, Arveene & Misk and The Revenge. Featuring performances from Slam, Ewan Pearson and Ralph Lawson. welove-music.com
Next to mix things up is resident Matt Long. His eclectic take on the current strain of house will stay fresh for some time, sprinkling a touch of everything into the latest mono_cult podcast. With his joint label venture 'FINA', alongside 2020 Vision's Ralph Lawson and Simon Morrell, currently making a bold statement; Matt is steadily establishing himself within the industry as one to watch.
