On this week's episode of 'The Saturday Show with Jonathan Capehart': Pardon power. Before he leaves office, President Biden has the constitutional authority to pardon anyone he chooses for federal crimes. Some Republicans argue that pardoning Donald Trump would "heal" the country. Biden could also pardon his own son, Hunter, although he's vowed not to. I'll ask Ankush Khardori and Kimberly Atkins Stohr who they think could and should receive presidential pardons. And, raising alarms. Health experts warn that confirming Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as HHS Secretary could actually cost lives. We'll talk to Gov. Josh Green of Hawaii, a medical doctor who has first-hand experience with the consequences of RFK Jr.'s misinformation and conspiracy theories about childhood vaccinations. And the Watch List. "Wicked," "Gladiator 2" and the "Moana" sequel fueled a Black Friday box office bonanza, but what else should you be watching? Chris Witherspoon joins me with best movies and TV shows to put on your holiday watch list. All that and more on “The Saturday Show with Jonathan Capehart.”

Last week, the Supreme Court wrapped up a controversial and consequential session that addressed abortion, guns and presidential power, just to name a few. The once favorable views of the Court have fallen to historic lows in recent years thanks in part to the conservative majority. And since the Dobbs decision in 2022, many Americans are concerned that the court's decisions are not reflective of the American people. Senior opinion writer and columnist for Boston Globe Opinion and co-host of the legal news podcast #SistersInLaw, Kimberly Atkins Stohr breaks down some of the biggest decisions from the session and explains the ripple effect the Trump immunity will have on the presidency. In this episode, we unpack the chaos of the Trump years. Breaking news took on new meaning during Donald Trump's term in the White House—one that was quite different from prior presidential administrations. A ban on Muslims from entering the United States, known as the “Muslim Ban” quickly went into effect after his inauguration. The world saw the United States lock children in cages at the border and defend its policy to deny those children soap and toothpaste. The Trump years set in motion the end of Roe v. Wade, the dismantling of agency authority, the elimination of important environmental protections, and chaos regarding the pandemic. There was also the rise in domestic terrorist groups—white nationalist supremacist groups grew 55% during his term. After the now convicted former president's defeat in the 2020 presidential election, the “Stop The Steal” campaign took off—leading to more than sixty lawsuits challenging election results and the January 6th insurrection. Notably, he appointed more federal judges than any other president save George Washington—including three to the U.S. Supreme Court. To unpack the Trump era, the civil and criminal lawsuits, and much more, Dr. Michele Goodwin is joined by very special guests: Webby Award winning #SistersInLaw podcasters Jill Wine Banks and Kimberly Atkins Stohr. -Jill Wine-Banks served as one of the Watergate prosecutors, and is the author of The Watergate Girl. She was first female general counsel in the U.S. Army and first female Executive Director of the American Bar Association. She is also an MSNBC legal analyst. -Kimberly Atkins Stohr is a senior opinion writer at The Boston Globe and a regular contributor to MSNBC. She served as the first Washington, D.C.-based news correspondent for WBUR and as the Boston Herald's Washington bureau chief. Support the Show.

Kimberly Atkins Stohr hosts #SistersInLaw to discuss Hunter Biden's conviction, the validity of evidence from the laptop, Joe's response, the sentencing process, and if an appeal might lead to the loosening of gun restrictions. Then, the #Sisters examine the SCOTUS rulings on mifepristone and bump stocks, looking at why the Justices ruled the way they did and how standing affects which cases come before the court.
