Whew. It's the day after Election Day. And we all probably feel a little hung over. It was an emotional day/month/year. But it's finally over. And on this day after, as the dust settles and the partisan spin begins, we've got a pod to help you cut through the corporate and partisan media and propaganda and better understand what the hell just happened. It's moments like this especially when independent media is critical. Grab a cup of coffee (or three), close a few things on your phone, and watch the latest episode of the independent show you can trust to help you understand what that hell just happened–and what's next.  Your host Paul Rieckhoff (@PaulRieckhoff) is joined by Sami Sage–cofounder and Chief Creative Officer of Betches Media, news and culture analyst, entrepreneur, media powerhouse, podcaster and lover of pop music.  They analyze Mamdani's closer-than-projected victory, his fiery acceptance speech and frontal attack on Trump, how it's him vs the establishment and moderates for the future of the Democratic Party, and why it's all so much bigger than New York City. Sami and Paul also focus on the historic victories by two Democrat women vets for Governor: Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey and Abigail Spanberger in Virginia, the failures of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, the impact of independent voters, and two things that are really good to end a chaotic time.  Because every episode of Independent Americans with Paul Rieckhoff breaks down the most important news stories--and offers light to contrast the heat of other politics and news shows. It was a clean sweep for progressives and their propositions, with Zohran Mamdani winning New York City's mayoral race and ushering in a new era of Democratic/Socialist/Communist/Marxist ideas. As democrats celebrate, problems (predictably) pop up in several voting locales. California passes Prop 50 and the gerrymandering olympics will now commence. The soft news media try not to celebrate democrat wins in Virginia, New Jersey and New York as they help the party over the finish line. Hakeem Jeffries auditions for the new progressives.

It's Fun Day Monday on the Majority Report On today's program: Trump's polling shows him underwater on almost every single issue. His disapproval rating is the highest it's been in either term and his approval rating hits the lowest it's been so far in his second term. Somehow the Democrats are squandering this incredible opportunity to reach the folks who are jumping ship from the GOP. Founder and editor-in0chief of Bolts Magazine, Daniel Nichanian joins the show to break down the significant elections taking pace tomorrow across the country. In the Fun Half: Rep. Joe Neguse (D-CO) pushes back against a reporter's framing of the shutdown as the Democrats' fault, using the moment to highlight the GOP's responsibility in the crisis. A refreshing moment of effective communication from a Democrat. In an example of ineffective communication, Hakeem Jeffries is thrown a soft ball from Jake Tapper when asked if Zohran Mamdani is the future of the Democratic party and he swings and misses spectacularly. Michigan Representative Haley Stevens does her best Hakeem Jeffries impression in fumbling on an easy question with an incoherent word salad. Majority Report's own Emma Vigeland went on MSNBC this weekend to discuss the failures of the democratic party. Jen Psaki shows Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson and Vice President JD Vance explaining out loud that the reason they don't want to fund food assistance to millions of Americans is because if they do, Democrats will have even less incentive to vote for the Republicans' budget bill, in effect admitting that they're deliberately causing pain to people they know Democrats care about as leverage to get their way on a bad budget bill.House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries talks with Jen Psaki about Republicans trying to use the pain of tens of millions of Americans going without food as a means of manipulating Democrats to vote for their bad budget bill, and points out the irony that while Donald Trump has never met a law he didn't think he could ignore, he is trying to use the law as an excuse to avoid funding the food assistance program SNAP.Curiously coinciding with a fictional TV movie about U.S. nuclear readiness, Donald Trump has taken a sudden interest in testing U.S. nuclear capability and, against conventional good judgment, has announced that interest out loud in public. Mark Hertling, former commanding general of United States Army Europe, joins Jen Psaki to discuss how nuclear issues are addressed when they're handled by a competent administration, and why it's a bad idea for U.S. leaders to muse about the possibility that the nuclear arsenal doesn't work. It's Thursday, October 30th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Muslim Ugandan beat wife and kids for trusting Christ A Muslim man in Uganda beat his wife and two children last month for putting their faith in Christ. Kulusumu Namulondo had to be hospitalized along with her two children, ages twelve and nine. Her husband proceeded to demolish the building of the church she had visited. Namulondo described the attack to Morning Star News. She said, “My husband hit my son with the walking stick several times, and he soon fell down screaming and wailing in great pain . . . While my son was on the ground, my husband started beating up me and my daughter. Thank God, neighbors arrived, and my husband fled away.” In Luke 18:29-30, Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.” Help victims of Hurricane Melissa  in Jamaica and Cuba Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica on Tuesday as a Category 5 storm. Melissa weakened to Category 3 before making landfall in Cuba yesterday.  The hurricane is one of the strongest ones on record in the Atlantic, killing dozens of people across the Caribbean. Christian charity organizations are mobilizing aid for victims of the hurricane. Samaritan's Purse announced it is “already preparing to respond as needed — with disaster relief specialists, materials, and aircraft all on standby.” You can give towards their relief effort through a link in our transcript today at TheWorldview.com.  Trump, Cruz and Johnson urge centrist Democrats to re-open gov't The Democrats in the U.S. Senate have now shut the U.S. government for 30 days, as they attempt to undo the provisions of President Trump's Big Beautiful Bill which ensured that only U.S. citizens would get taxpayer-funded health care. President Trump didn't pull any punches. TRUMP: “Today, I'm calling on every Senate Democrat to stop the madness, to let our country get back.   In the greatest moment in the history of our country, in terms of wealth, in terms of job creation, and in terms of investment coming in, these guys go on strike. It's really a shame! “So, I'm asking them to be smart. It's not working. They're getting killed in the polls. The public understands what they're doing. They're doing the wrong thing.” Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas explained that the Democrats have failed to stop the government shutdown. CRUZ: “Thirteen times now the Republicans have voted to open the government to pay the federal workers 13 times. The Democrats' party line have voted no, keep it shut down. Keep it shut down. Keep it shut down. “And at this point it's not even clear they have an exit ramp. I think they're going to continue this another week or two, and then at some point, seven or eight Democrats are going to have some sense come into them. I think it is very likely to be retiring Democrats who will never again face a primary election. So, they're more insulated from the crazy left wing base. “But we are watching performative art. We're not watching public policy. We're not watching elected officials. This is all about political saving Chuck Schumer's rear end.” And House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, described Senator Chuck Schumer as irredeemable. JOHNSON: “We have very important work to do here, and that's why we're pleading with them. Look, I think Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are irredeemable at this point. I don't think they'll be able to tell [New York City Mayoral candidate Zohran] Mondami, [a socialist], in New York and his disciples that they voted to open the government. “I've given up on the leadership. So, we're trying to appeal to a handful of moderates or centrists who care more about the American people and will put the people's interest over their own and do the right thing in the Senate.  There's no point in me sitting down with Chuck Schumer. He's painted himself into a corner.” The Congressional Budget office said that the economy could lose $14 billion over two months unless the government is reopened. If you have a Democrat U.S. Senator, call 202-224-3121 and urge him or her to re-open the government immediately. Half of U.S. states scored poorly on religious liberty The Napa Legal Institute released its 2025 Faith and Freedom Index on Monday. The report ranks states in the U.S. from 0-100 based on how well they treat faith-based nonprofits.  The states with the highest rankings on the index are Alabama (72%), Kansas (69%), Indiana (68%), Texas (65%), and Mississippi (63%). The states with the lowest rankings are Michigan (31%), Washington (35%), Massachusetts (37%), Maryland (38%), and Illinois (38%).  Sadly, over half of the states scored below 50% on the religious liberty index.  Nvidia now valued at $5 trillion Nvidia became the first company yesterday to reach a market value of $5 trillion. The tech company started with video game processors. Now it is a major producer of computer chips for the artificial intelligence industry.  The record valuation follows growth announcements from the company, including plans to build seven supercomputers for the U.S. government.  Apple and Microsoft, two other tech companies, are not far behind with market valuations of around $4 trillion.  America's debt has surpassed $38 trillion The U.S. government's gross national debt surpassed $38 trillion last Wednesday. That's up a trillion dollars from just August of this year.  The U.S. government debt as a percentage of gross domestic product stood at 120% last year, according to the International Monetary Fund. That's one of the highest debt-to-GDP ratios in the world. Only Japan, Venezuela, Greece, and Italy are higher.     (Look at the U.S. Debt clock.) Federal Reserve cut interest rate by quarter percent The Federal Reserve cut its benchmark interest rate by a quarter-point for the second time this year. This brings the rate to a range between 3.75% and 4%. That's the lowest it's been in three years.  The Fed's announcement noted, “Available indicators suggest that economic activity has been expanding at a moderate pace. Job gains have slowed this year, and the unemployment rate has edged up but remained low. …Inflation has moved up since earlier in the year and remains somewhat elevated.” Museum of the Bible displaying oldest copies of Jonah and 1 Peter And finally, CBN News reports the Museum of the Bible is displaying the oldest-known complete copies of Jonah and 1 Peter.  The pages come from the Crosby–Schøyen Codex which dates back 1,800 years. The text is written in the ancient Coptic language.  It's the first time the pages from the codex have been available to the public since 1988.  Dr. Bobby Duke is the Chief Curatorial Officer at the Museum of the Bible. Listen to comments he made to CBN News.  DUKE: “This dates back to about 250 A.D. That's incredible to think that we have something that's 1,800 years old. Free Thinking Through the Fourth Turning with Sasha Stone

I imagine right about now, the group chats between Hillary Clinton, Neera Tanden, and Huma Abedin are lit. Democratic Socialism is at the gates. Once upon a time, that was their worst nightmare. Now, it's their inevitable reality. If Andrew Cuomo does somehow pull off a miraculous last-minute one-in-a-million win in New York, he will do so without any help from the establishment Democrats. But even a weak endorsement from Hakeem Jeffries for Zohran Mamdani is enough. They know their goose is cooked. Even if they're not happy about it, they have no choice but to go along with it.We wanted to smash the Patriarchy. They wanted to smash the oligarchy.I am old enough to remember how those of us in the I'm With Her army fought viciously with “Bernie bros” throughout the 2016 primary, calling them racists and misogynists, saying they were “useful idiots” for Trump. We wanted to smash the Patriarchy. They wanted to smash the oligarchy. Most of us Hillarycrats were terrified that Democratic Socialism would pull the party too far to the Left and we'd never win an election again. It was the word “socialism,” and no matter how many times they put “Democratic” in front of it, the song remained the same.Maybe we were the last generation forced to read Animal Farm in high school, but we seemed to remember what so many in the Bernie movement had suddenly forgotten. Not only doesn't Communism sell, but it doesn't work. That message never got through, and socialism, Democratic or otherwise, would be like those dinosaur eggs that magically appeared in Jurassic Park. Socialism, like life, finds a way.Look at the Democrats now. They're all in. Even if they weren't, they know better than to say so out loud. They also know they're out of moves. They've had their shot, and all it meant was Trump beating them again. But I still wonder what's going on in those group chats. Does Hillary know that this potentially means the Republicans will rule for much longer? Or does she, like all of the fanatics on the Left, still believe they are just one election away from taking back the country We'd better hope they aren't. Socialist SocialitesYou've heard of Vivek Ramaswamy's Woke Capitalism. Now, meet Woke Socialism —the hybrid of AOC and Bernie, and their Green New Deal manifesto, merging the two ideologies into one complete organism. Zohran Mamdani is their love child, so perfect for today's Left that he almost seems like he was created in a lab.You see them everywhere, these socialist socialites. Somehow, it's become the ultimate pretty girl cred, like “Free Palestine” and “This baby is not yet human.” They like socialism for the same reason they like fat acceptance. As long as homely and otherwise rejected women are allowed in, that gives the pretty girls the freedom to display their beauty without being hated for it. Here are hot girls for Mamdani:We saw this on display at a recent Vogue Hollywood fashion show, populist enough for Gavin Newsom to attend. An array of all designated marginalized and their allies, the virtue signalers, all in one place. It was one big mix of the new Gilded Age and the high-society Woketopians in their finest. Here were two famous transgender models greeted with euphoric cheers. How to reflect social justice while luxuriating in extreme wealth? Just chant Tax the rich! Tax the rich! Tax the rich! That was all AOC needed to abandon her working-class cred to join the high-status Woketopians at the Met Gala. It's its own kind of evangelical grift. But it is the workaround necessary in the totalitarian America promised if the Democrats return to power. We've seen what it looks like. We already know. Obey the rules, or you're banished forever. AOC's gleaming face in that photo has been replaced by an angry one. Her speech at the Mamdani rally was very much an “us vs. them” anthem, and by them, she means you, the majority in America that voted for Trump. There is no escaping the fact that the party about to embrace socialism is the party of wealth and the ruling class. It's an inconvenient detail they all mostly gloss over. Here is Walter Kirn and Matt Taibbi on America This Week:It is no longer Bernie's dream of smashing the oligarchy — they are the oligarchy. The workaround is to make it no longer about class but about race and gender. Then, there are no limits on wealth. The lawn sign people desperately crave the status that comes with being deemed an oppressed group, the highest status attained inside Woketopia. You can borrow oppression by, say, making illegal immigration your most important cause. You can be out there chattering about racists. Accuse, lest ye be accused. And best of all, wealthy and powerful high-status figures like Michelle Obama or Oprah Winfrey can still be oppressed and maintain their status while helping to fund the revolution. Meanwhile, some working-class white man in Wisconsin, unemployed and strung out on fentanyl, is forever the oppressor because they need a constant supply of them — white men, Christians, Jews, and billionaires. Here is Barstool Sports Dave Portnoy:Mamdani must rely on his identity to make wealthy elites feel the same sense of inner purpose we all felt the first time we heard Barack Obama speak. He made us feel worthy because our support of him, just because of his identity, made the country better. We mattered. We were important. We were changing the world. What else does Mamdani have to sell? Sure, he's charming and charismatic. He has a great social media game. He is offering a vision for the future rather than only Trump hate. But I also wonder, could his pitch have worked if he were a normie white dude selling it? It only barely worked for Bernie. How many will heed this warning?Or this:What Mamdani has, like every other designated marginalized group, is protective status inside Woketopia. No one can ever criticize you once you are deemed oppressed because then you get to call them racists, homophobes, transphobes, more phobes, more ists, and even ignite a mob to chase, condemn, and purge the offender. When I hear Mamdani speak, or any Democrat besides John Fetterman, I hear them always choosing to see the worst, to see all the complaints against policies the majority of Americans care about, like crime and the border, the answer is always that they are bad people for caring about their own lives. They are a racist, an Islamaphobe, or a transphobe. Here is the Great White Hope, Gavin Newsom, doing just that on a podcast: Their inability to see beyond that, or for voters to snap out of it and return to the real world, has put them in their most precarious position since the Civil War.Gone with the Wind If you are wondering how the Left was lost or why they are in a hell of their own making, or why they can't snap out of it, or why they seem like every day is the end of the world, look no further than the South during the last Civil War. They did not want to give up their way of life, or their utopia, either. They were happy, and they did not realize the rest of the country wanted to move on. When the North decided slavery would not expand to the states, the South was willing to fight and die to hold onto what once was instead of evolving into what must now be. The Left is so desperate to hold onto their way of life, they are willing to fight to preserve crime in the cities, to open the border and allow all of the migrants to flow freely into America, and for Medicare for all and universal education to pay for them too.It was a fixed hierarchy in the American South, just as there is a fixed hierarchy among today's Left. Just as the South was a contradiction to America's foundational principles, that all men are created equal, so too are today's Democrats a contradiction to America's promise, that class no longer decides success, certainly not gender or skin color, but hard work, merit, and talent do. Obviously, that hasn't always been true for everyone. But it is the whole point of an America at all. Mamdani insists he wants all New Yorkers to live a dignified life. It sounds great, doesn't it? Once you start digging into exactly what he means by that, you realize he's not just talking about economics. He's also talking about thought and speech.Woke socialism is, for the Left, the best of all possible worlds. As long as the marginalized living in poverty are lifted up and elevated, the wealthy ruling class, the Socialist Socialites, can justify their absurdly comfortable lives in a country that has afforded them more wealth and privilege than most will see in their lifetimes. They're hoping that if they keep the government shut down, if they make Americans suffer, then we will have no choice but to abandon the American experiment and lean in to the same failed policies that have so many fleeing from all over the world just for the chance to live here and be free. As Orwell warned in Animal Farm, it is human nature that ultimately upends utopia. Sooner or later, the powerful take control anyway because all animals might be equal, but some animals are more equal than others. Music:Tip Jar This is a public episode. Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Get Ready to VOTE Election Day 2025. The hour kicks off with a discussion on the upcoming elections in New York City, Virginia, and New Jersey, emphasizing the stakes and voter turnout trends. Clay shares a personal anecdote about voting locally and previews an interview with Riley Gaines, who recently faced backlash from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over her stance on protecting women’s sports. The conversation quickly pivots to the New York City mayoral race, spotlighting controversial candidate Zohran Mamdani. Clay and Buck dissect Mamdani’s shifting narratives, including his disputed claims about Islamophobia post-9/11 and radical past statements such as “Defund the NYPD” and linking police to the IDF. They analyze why voters seem unfazed by these revelations and criticize Andrew Cuomo’s lackluster campaign strategy. The hosts warn that Mamdani’s progressive platform—featuring ideas like government-run grocery stores and fare-free buses—reflects a dangerous trend toward socialist policies that could devastate city infrastructure and small businesses. The "White Men Are Evil" Argument Clay and Buck discuss Zohran Mamdani, the leading candidate for New York City mayor, and dissect his radical platform and controversial family background. They highlight statements made by Mamdani’s father, a Columbia University professor, who accused the United States of inspiring Nazi genocide through its treatment of Native Americans. Clay and Buck push back hard, offering a detailed historical rebuttal that includes references to colonial history, tribal warfare, and global conquest, arguing that the left’s narrative is rooted in anti-American sentiment and historical ignorance. The conversation expands to critique the broader Democratic leadership, including figures like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Gavin Newsom, warning that the “New York City liberal” and “California liberal” brands are becoming toxic in middle America. They praise more moderate Democratic mayors like Daniel Lurie in San Francisco and Muriel Bowser in Washington, D.C., for showing signs of pragmatism, especially in working with President Trump on crime reduction and urban policy. Trump '28 Unity Ticket? record-breaking highs in the S&P 500, Dow Jones, and NASDAQ, crediting President Trump’s economic policies for the surge. He contrasts this with media narratives from earlier in the year that predicted economic collapse, emphasizing the disconnect between Wall Street performance and lingering ground-level effects from the Biden-era economy. The hosts then pivot to Trump’s Asia tour, highlighting his meetings with leaders in Japan, South Korea, and potentially North Korea’s Kim Jong-un. Trump’s comments aboard Air Force One spark speculation about a JD Vance–Marco Rubio unity ticket for 2028, with Clay and Buck debating the plausibility of Trump stepping aside while endorsing his successors. A major segment features Trump’s challenge to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and Rep. Jasmine Crockett, mocking their intelligence and inviting them to take cognitive tests. Crockett fires back, accusing Trump of elitism and racial obsession, prompting Clay and Buck to critique the intellectual caliber of current congressional representatives across party lines. Riley Gaines vs. AOC Riley Gaines discusses her recent clash with AOC over women’s sports. Gaines shares her experience as a new mom, pushing back against cultural narratives that discourage young women from motherhood. She also responds to AOC’s dismissive comments about her athletic achievements, defending her fifth-place NCAA ranking and criticizing the left’s hypocrisy on women’s sports and fairness. We react to the “Ragin’ Cajun’s” shocking rant, where he fantasizes about shaving the heads of Trump supporters, dressing them in orange jumpsuits, and parading them down Pennsylvania Avenue to be spat upon. And we unpack the left’s obsession with public shaming and “thought crimes" and thechilling parallels to Orwell’s 1984 and the real-world silencing of conservatives during the COVID era. 9:30 Plus, we cover the Top 3 Things You Need to Know. President Trump has terminated all trade negotiations with Canada over a TV ad that features a clip of President Ronald Reagan seemingly denouncing tariffs. Inflation ticked up a bit in September, but not as much as was expected. The USS Gerald Ford Aircraft Group is moving into the Caribbean sea as the US is ramping up military strikes against drug runners coming from South America. 12:30 Get NSorb from Victory Nutrition International for 20% off. From Trump Derangement Syndrome to a culture that prizes victimhood over virtue, we explore how emotion has replaced truth on the left. 16:30 We ask American Mamas — Teri Netterville and Kimberly Burleson — how they can be okay with Donald Trump tearing down part of the White House. We unpack the latest round of media outrage, sparked by Trump’s privately funded ballroom project. From Chelsea Clinton’s dramatic tweets to Hakeem Jeffries’ call for an investigation, we dig into the hypocrisy surrounding presidential renovations. Nearly every president—from Teddy Roosevelt to Barack Obama—has left their mark on the White House. So why is it suddenly a scandal when President Trump does the same? 23:00 House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is endorsing Zoran Mamdani—a New York politician so far left, he makes Bernie Sanders look like Milton Friedman. We unpack Mamdani’s extremist rhetoric, including his call to “globalize the Intifada,” and what that really means for Jewish communities at home and abroad. 25:30 What exactly is the “Trump Doctrine”? It's simple: be nice to me, I’ll be nice to you — cross me, and you’ll regret it. We break down President Trump’s decision to hold off on deploying the National Guard to crime-ridden San Francisco after a respectful call from the city’s Democratic mayor, Daniel Lurie. It's a perfect example of Trump’s “tit-for-tat” strategy in action — strength tempered by reason, toughness balanced with generosity. 32:30 Get Prodovite from Victory Nutrition International for 20% off. Go to vni.life/agr and use the promo code AGR20. 33:30 Canada just got a cold dose of the Trump Doctrine. We break down the fallout after Ontario Premier Doug Ford pulled a $75 million taxpayer-funded ad campaign that deceptively used Ronald Reagan’s words to attack U.S. tariffs. Turns out, the ad violated Canadian law — and when Trump found out, he didn’t just hit back, he shut down the negotiations altogether. 36:00 Plus, it's Fake News Friday! We're putting you to the test with our weekly game of headlines—are they real news, fake news, or really fake news? From sanctuary city standoffs to repeat offenders shielded by politics, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has become a symbol of accountability in an age of chaos. It's not cruelty — it’s common sense — and that Americans are finally saying “whoa” to open borders and lawlessness. 42:00 And we finish off with some words of wisdom about the White House. Well over 3 weeks into the government shutdown, economists are eager for federal metrics that help paint a picture of our nation's economy. To that end, the Labor Department brought back some workers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to release the Consumer Price Index, or CPI. 10 days late, CNBC's Rick Santelli, Nomura's David Seif and Richard Bernstein Advisors's Michael Contopoulos dig into the numbers and what they mean for the data-driven Federal Reserve. It's the second-longest shutdown in U.S. history, and lawmakers like House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-New York) and Senator James Lankford (R-Oklahoma) are standing firm on their respective sides of the standoff. Both explain their perspectives on how the country can move forward. Plus, Target announced it would be laying off about 8% of its corporate workforce, and President Trump says he's halted trade negotiations with Canada over an Ontario ad featuring President Ronald Reagan criticizing tariffs.  Rick Santelli - 17:09 David Seif & Michael Contopoulos - 19:29Sen. NBA Betting Scandal One of the most explosive sports scandals in recent memory: a massive NBA betting and poker rigging investigation led by the FBI. Clay and Buck break down the details of a multi-year probe that resulted in over 30 arrests across 11 states, involving current and former NBA players and coaches, including Portland Trailblazers head coach Chauncey Billups, former player and coach Damon Jones, and Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier. The scandal spans illegal gambling operations, insider betting schemes, and mafia-run poker games using high-tech cheating devices like x-ray tables, contact lenses, and altered shuffling machines. Clay explains how the FBI uncovered two interconnected cases: one involving the mob rigging high-stakes poker games with tens of millions of dollars at stake, and another exposing NBA players manipulating game performance for prop bets, such as Rozier allegedly leaving a game early after signaling insiders. The hosts discuss the staggering stupidity of risking a $26 million NBA salary for $200,000 in illicit winnings, and why legalized sports betting may actually help catch these schemes by flagging irregular wagering patterns. Oppression Olympics An in-depth look at the Virginia Governor’s race, dissecting conflicting polls on Abigail Spanberger and why Democrats are sounding alarms despite media narratives of a comfortable lead. The hosts mock MSNBC’s claim that Spanberger’s struggles stem from sexism, pointing out that she’s running against another woman and citing examples of women winning major races nationwide. They argue Democrats are leaning on identity politics rather than addressing policy failures. The conversation pivots to Spanberger’s refusal to call for the resignation of Jay Jones, the Democratic Attorney General candidate embroiled in a text scandal advocating political violence. Clay warns Virginians that Spanberger is a far-left candidate masquerading as moderate, predicting radical policies on gender identity and sports if she wins. This leads to a fiery discussion on transgender athletes, spotlighting a shocking Minnesota Supreme Court ruling that unanimously allowed a male powerlifter to compete in women’s competitions, citing “human rights.” Clay and Buck slam this as emblematic of the left’s strategy to impose gender ideology through state power, comparing it to COVID-era mandates and warning of broader cultural consequences. Rep. Jim Jordan The ongoing government shutdown, now in its 23rd day, with Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan joining the show to explain why Democrats are holding the line—fear of primaries from the far-left and leveraging issues like Obamacare subsidies. Jordan predicts the shutdown could last until November and blasts Democrats’ Trump Derangement Syndrome as a driving force. Jordan also drops bombshell news: a criminal referral against former CIA Director John Brennan for allegedly lying under oath about the Steele dossier during the Russia investigation. He details evidence showing Brennan pushed for the dossier’s inclusion despite knowing it was unreliable, framing it as part of a broader pattern of anti-Trump bias. The discussion then shifts to Trump’s record in his second term, with Jordan calling it “the most impactful year of any presidency,” citing achievements on tax cuts, border security, Iran policy, and ending men in women’s sports. The hour closes with a quick revisit of the NBA betting scandal, contrasting today’s corruption with Pete Rose’s infamous wagers, and a nuanced debate on whether athletes betting on themselves should be treated differently. Clay explains why leagues ban all player gambling to prevent debt-driven corruption, noting referees as historically vulnerable due to lower salaries. Gov't Shutdown Realities The latest on the government shutdown, now stretching into weeks, as Clay and Buck dissect explosive remarks from Democratic House Whip Katherine Clark, who admitted the shutdown is being used as “leverage.” Speaker of the House Mike Johnson fires back, accusing Democrats of holding American families hostage to push for $200 billion in Obamacare subsidies and benefits for illegal immigrants. The hosts argue this political brinkmanship is driven by internal Democratic fears—Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries worried about primary challenges from the far-left, especially after Mamdani’s surprise victory in the New York City mayoral primary, which shook the party establishment. The conversation pivots to the New York City mayor’s race, analyzing the fiery second debate featuring Curtis Sliwa, Andrew Cuomo, and Mamdani. Clay praises Sliwa’s populist message but warns that staying in the race could guarantee a Mamdani win. They highlight Cuomo and Sliwa pressing Mamdani on housing ballot initiatives, exposing his evasiveness and lack of clear policy positions. Clay brands Momani as a “cipher”—a social media-savvy candidate with no substantive record—contrasting him with Cuomo’s long political history. SEASON 4 EPISODE 27: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:30) SPECIAL COMMENT: Today is the dawn of Trump’s new policy: destroy America. Literally. Well, destroy part of the WHITE HOUSE – Literally. And steal $230 million from the government and pretend he’s going to give it to charity; AND give away 172 million dollars for two private jets for Kristi Noem; AND give Ukraine and eventually Europe to Putin, AND make America a one-party nation, AND get elected Democrats killed, AND destroy America. Literally. Well, ok, describing this as Trump’s new policy to destroy, steal, give away AND get elected Democrats killed - that’s not ENTIRELY fair. Because it’s not really NEW. He has long tried to stochastically encourage violence against opponents, but now key minions like Tom Emmer and Tom Homan talk about the quote “terrorist wing” of the Democratic party, and, Presto! A January 6th traitor Trump personally pardoned tries to assassinate Democratic House Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Looks like cause and effect to me. Josh Marshall just invoked imagery I used in 2016 and he’s right: Trump has entered (actually RE-entered) the stage in which he is the omnipotent petulant child, Anthony, from the terrifying Twilight Zone episode “It’s A Good Life" who could destroy the world and kill people just by thinking it. Josh is right. I was right. Trump is now destroying just because it gives him something to do. And because in his psychosis it no longer matters whether he's constructing or deconstructing, it only matters that HE does it. ALSO: The Democrats can stop self-flagellating. Party identification has now swung back away from the Republicans and the seven-point margin is nearly as big as the Dems' was in 2012. So let's focus instead on taking out the trash like Graham Platner. For 17 years or so, the populist Maine Democrat somehow didn't know that was a nazi tattoo on his chest, which I suppose is possible. But when it was going to come out, instead of going right to a tattoo parlor and holding a news conference explaining and apologizing as they turned it into something else, he released a drunken video and waited three days to (supposedly) actually fix the problem. He has no judgment. None. Get out. B-Block (33:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Doing the right thing for the wrong reason. Bob Iger and Disney didn't walk back the Jimmy Kimmel firing because of justice and the 1st Amendment. They did it because of a boycott. The Andrew Cuomo self-destruction tour continues as he confuses the New York Jets and the New York Mets. And The Washington Post columnist who said we'd be fine whether Hillary or Trump was elected is back with more stupidity. C-Block (49:12) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: This time of year, 51 years ago, I was about to sign up to go to Boston University when a radio student there gave me the inside story of the limitations undergrads faced. He talked me out of it. I was 15 and he was 20 and his name was Howard Stern.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We're seeing a confluence of events that suggest President Trump's corruption has crossed over to an ugly new place. Trump is destroying a White House building to create a ballroom for him and his rich friends. He's demanding that the Justice Department hand over $230 million in taxpayer funds to compensate him for “damages.” And Democrats from Senator Chris Murphy to Democratic House leader Hakeem Jeffries are going after all this in a newly aggressive way. Into this mess stepped White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who issued an extraordinary new defense of Trump's ballroom fiasco. It was absolutely laden with comically cultish devotion to the Audience of One, but the hagiography also revealed something darker. We talked to New Republic staff writer Matt Ford, author of a great new piece about Trump's self-dealing. He explains how all this corruption and all this worshipful propaganda reveals Trump's profound contempt for the rule of law, for DOJ independence, for the idea of the public good, and even for the American people. In today’s episode of The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, the first story zeroes in on the unsettling news that a man pardoned for his role in the January 6 United States Capitol attack was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Authorities say the text messages were explicit and showed intent, raising new concerns about the effects of mass pardons and political-violence risk in the U.S. legislative sphere. Next up, controversial pastor Marvin Winans came under fire after a livestream showed him chastising a church member for donating less than what he asked for. While both parties later clarified the interaction, the video has ignited debates on giving culture, public shaming in houses of worship, and leadership accountability.
