SEASON 4 EPISODE 23: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:30) SPECIAL COMMENT: Here we go again. Trump is talking about his own mortality or career mortality or heaven or all of the above… AGAIN at the same time he’s talking about declaring insurrections and jailing more political opponents, like Mayor Johnson and Governor Pritzker and any one of a dozen judges including at least one he appointed – not prosecuting them, just jailing them - and, as if it could GET any worse, he specifically segued from the issue of wanting to prove to God that he’s been good to how great all those weapons are at his naval base. The missiles are flying, hallelujah, hallelujah. Plus he's written: “Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect Ice Officers! Governor Pritzker also." Look, you and I know it should be TRUMP in jail because he’s not only broken laws, he’s nearly COLLECTED THE COMPLETE SET of broken laws. But the process of convincing Trump that he's not crazy, that his predictions are coming true, that Portland is ablaze, is how Stephen Miller and the others manipulate him into eroding American democracy a little more every damn day. And this has worked since at least 2016 and I was told about it by Ed Rollins in 2017. It's the Trump personal feedback loop. And when the interruptors in that loop get in the way, they get bought out and destroyed. CNN first, The Washington Post, and now CBS News and the "B" stands for "Bari Weiss" who once told The Federalist Society that it was ok if it didn't believe her and her wife's marriage was legal because they all shared what really mattered: a desire for lower taxes. David Waldman brings us one day closer to… whatever that is up ahead. Greg Dworkin is still renovating yet still has time to drop by for a chat. Donald K. Trump has a new can of gold Rust-Oleum waiting for his Nobel Prize this Friday, but first he must attend to his conquest of Portland, the crushing of his adversaries, subjugation of the masses, etc. His commands, spoken face down in his morning oatmeal, are then relayed to Nikolai Yezhov, or in his absence, Stephen Miller and the She-Wolf of the DOJ, Pam Bondi. The government shutdown has now riled Democrats into actually walking over to Republicans and asking them questions. It's pushed Marjorie Taylor Greene to the point of empathy. It's even made Chuck Schumer… ornery. It might even help save health care. There's even a possibility that it might save the United States. What's in it for Trump, though? The war between the states front has moved from the courts, to right outside the court, to right over to the judges themselves.

A clearly mentally disturbed Donald Trump got on Truth Social on Wednesday morning and demanded that Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson be put in prison. Their crime, according to Trump, is that they aren't "protecting" his precious ICE agents that are disappearing people off the streets. ICE does not need "protecting," they are the ones that people need to be protected from. And with the way the agency has been attacking police officers, it seems like the ICE agents are the ones that need to be imprisoned.During an interview with Chris Cuomo on News Nation this week, Eric Trump went absolutely ballistic when Cuomo asked about the hypocrisy of Donald Trump weaponizing the federal government to go after his political enemies after spending years falsely accusing the Biden administration of doing that. Eric lost his mind when this was pointed out, and started yelling about all of the alleged offenses that Biden committed - with these examples being either exaggerated, fabricated, or happening long before Biden even ran for president. MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell announced this week that he is completely broke and can't afford to appeal a judge's recent ruling that found him liable for defamation against voting company Smartmatic. Lindell said that if he doesn't appeal it within 22 days, it'll go to a jury trial to determine the damages. The only problem, according to Lindell, is that he's completely broke, and now he's promising to go door-to-door to beg for money in order to get the cash to pay his lawyers. Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came up with the perfect way to demoralize MAGA men, and it might be the most simple thing that a person can do: Laugh at them. She said this was particularly effective against Trump ghoul Stephen Miller, who was forced to watch her make fun of him on an episode of Laura Ingraham's Fox News show this week. Miller could barely muster a response, and Ingraham was slurring so much it was difficult to tell what she was saying, so it looks like AOC's method definitely worked. The official Twitter account of the Oregon Republican Party was busted using fake photographs to claim that Portland is under siege by the Left and that Trump's deployment of the National Guard was necessary. The only problem is that the pictures weren't from Portland, or from the US, or even from this year. Some of the pictures were nearly 20 years old and featured riot police in South America - obviously not modern-day Portland. Earlier this year, a tweet went out from the official account of the Democratic Party, tagging the Trump advisor Stephen Miller. It was an image of what appeared to be a simple hotel room chair. But for those in the know, it was much more than that: It was a “cuck chair,” an online meme straight out of a popular genre of hardcore pornography in which a man watches his partner have sex with another man. How did we get to a place where the Democrats could flame a political opponent with an image out of cucking porn and have millions of people immediately understand it? Today's Headlines: White House hardliner Stephen Miller is out here saying the quiet part out loud — during a CNN interview about National Guard deployments, he claimed the president has “plenary authority,” aka limitless power, before mysteriously freezing mid-interview. Meanwhile, Attorney General Pam Bondi doubled down on that energy in her Senate testimony, stonewalling lawmakers on everything from the Epstein files to alleged FBI bribery and whether government officials actually have to follow court orders. The FBI just cut ties with the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center — two longtime watchdogs for extremism — after complaints from Trump allies that the groups were “biased.” In policy plotting news,  the administration is reportedly eyeing a partial selloff of the $1.6 trillion federal student loan portfolio to private buyers, and it's refusing to guarantee back pay for federal workers during the ongoing shutdown, apparently to pressure Democrats on Obamacare tax credits. Earlier this year, a tweet went out from the official account of the Democratic Party, tagging the Trump advisor Stephen Miller. It was an image of what appeared to be a simple hotel room chair. But for those in the know, it was much more than that: It was a “cuck chair,” an online meme straight out of a popular genre of hardcore pornography in which a man watches his partner have sex with another man. How did we get to a place where the Democrats could flame a political opponent with an image out of cucking porn and have millions of people immediately understand it? In this episode we trace the complicated and intricate history of the cuck. It's a history that includes everything from Jacobean dramas to World War II pilots to, yes, pornography, as well as a host of deeply American prejudices that have become a lot less submerged over the last 10 years. And we also situate the cuck within a larger context, one in which porn is the elephant in the room of American culture. It's a potent force, shaping and reflecting our very wants and desires and it is constantly seeping into mainstream culture—and yet we don't analyze, critique, or even talk about it very much because, well, it's porn. Today's Headlines: President Trump marked the second anniversary of Hamas' October 7th attack by telling reporters he thinks there's a “really good chance” Israel and Hamas will finalize their ceasefire deal “within days.” Illinois and the city of Chicago sued to block Trump's move to federalize the National Guard, but a judge has so far declined to stop him, giving the administration until tomorrow night to respond. That's in contrast with a Trump-appointed judge in Oregon who blocked similar deployments in Portland, calling Trump's rationale “untethered from reality.” Stephen Miller responded by accusing the court of a “left-wing legal insurrection.” Meanwhile, ICE is reportedly gearing up to expand its surveillance powers — buying tools to track people via phone data and social media to help target deportations. And the administration plans to slash refugee admissions from 125,000 to just 7,500 this year, prioritizing (checks notes) white South Africans for resettlement. The White House is also cooking up a rule that would make it harder for older Americans to qualify for Social Security disability benefits by raising the age threshold from 50 to 60 — a move that could cut off payments for hundreds of thousands of people.
