« Grâce à notre travail, nous nous maintiendrons au pouvoir » : cette petite phrase de Macky Sall, en visite en France, cette petite phrase a mis le feu aux poudres dans la presse sénégalaise.Elle fait la Une du site d'information Seneweb. « Le chef de l'État, Macky Sall, a semblé lever un coin du voile sur ses intentions, en perspective de la présidentielle de février 2024, affirme Seneweb. En effet, face à ses militants établis en France, pays où il a entamé, hier mercredi une visite de travail, le patron de l'APR a promis à ces derniers de se maintenir au pouvoir, avec la volonté du peuple, vantant ses réalisations. Macky Sall a fait cette déclaration au moment où sa supposée candidature fait l'objet de discussions au sein du Dialogue politique. Les participants à ces concertations auraient décidé de laisser cette question à l'appréciation des Sept sages du Conseil constitutionnel. »Et Seneweb de rappeler que « le président de la République avait déclaré, le 20 mars dernier, que la question juridique concernant le troisième mandat avait été déjà réglée par ladite juridiction ».Une déclaration qui en dit longLe site Dakar Matin cite une autre phrase de Macky Sall qui semble aller dans le même sens : « Je m'adresserai au pays dans pas longtemps. Nous aurons beaucoup à faire après cette déclaration, pour aller vers la marche du progrès, vers la victoire de 2024. »Commentaire de Dakar Matin : « Cette déclaration en dit long. En effet, jusqu'ici le chef de file du parti au pouvoir avait maintenu le flou avec son "ni oui ni non" sur sa candidature à sa propre succession. Cet appel est-il une déclaration de candidature pour un 3e mandat ? L'avenir nous édifiera. »Bourde ?Pour WalfQuotidien, c'est on ne peut plus clair : Macky Sall va se présenter… « Macky Sall sera candidat à sa propre succession en 2024, affirme le journal. Il en a fait l'annonce, hier, à la résidence de l'ambassadeur du Sénégal, à Paris, au cours d'une audience accordée à ses militants. WalfQuotidien qui parle de « bourde » : « c'est la première fois qu'un président de la République déclare sa candidature à l'étranger. (…) L'idéal aurait voulu que Macky Sall, même contesté par bon nombre de Sénégalais, donne la primeur de sa candidature aux Sénégalais qui l'ont élu en 2012 et réélu en 2019. Avec cette annonce de candidature, Macky Sall risque de raviver les tensions. »Karim Wade et Khalifa Sall possibles candidats ? Et Ousmane Sonko ?Autre question, posée cette fois par Le Monde Afrique : « Les principaux rivaux du président Macky Sall recouvriront-ils les droits civiques dont ils ont été déchus suite à des condamnations ? Et pourront-ils se présenter à l'élection présidentielle ? C'était le point le plus attendu du dialogue national qui s'est ouvert le 31 mai à Dakar entre le pouvoir et certains partis d'opposition. Et la commission politique a répondu par l'affirmative, se disant favorable à une modification des articles L28 et L29 du code électoral, ce qui permettrait une réhabilitation des droits civiques et politiques des personnes qui ont bénéficié d'une grâce présidentielle et qui ont purgé leur peine. »Ainsi Karim Wade et Khalifa Sall pourraient participer à la présidentielle : « Karim Wade, fils de l'ancien président Abdoulaye Wade, avait été condamné en 2015 à six ans de prison ferme pour enrichissement illicite, avant d'être gracié et de s'exiler au Qatar, rappelle Le Monde Afrique. Khalifa Sall, ancien maire de Dakar, avait quant à lui été écarté de l'élection présidentielle de février 2019, ayant été condamné à cinq ans de prison ferme pour détournements de fonds publics, avant d'être gracié en septembre de la même année. »Alors, « si la modification du code électoral pourrait permettre à ces deux hommes politiques de se présenter en 2024, la question reste en suspens pour Ousmane Sonko, relève encore Le Monde Afrique. Le président du Pastef a été condamné à deux ans de prison ferme pour corruption de la jeunesse et à six mois avec sursis pour diffamation. Ces peines, qui ne sont pas encore définitives, menacent directement son éligibilité ».Une « drôle d'attente… »En tout cas, le Sénégal vit « une drôle d'attente », pointe le site d'information Seneplus : « Entre l'attente de la "notification" à Ousmane Sonko de son verdict et les dialogues nationaux de Macky Sall, le Sénégal vit toujours dans l'incertitude et la psychose. Cette drôle d'attente inquiète les citoyens, les partenaires financiers, les bailleurs, les investisseurs, les opérateurs économiques et les autres couches sociales. (…) Malgré les multiples médiations et dialogues, pouvoir et opposition semblent camper sur leurs positions. »
