O.J. Simpson's name remains synonymous with one of the most infamous murder trials of the 20th century. Acquitted in 1995 for the brutal slayings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, his case still haunts many. A new Netflix docuseries, American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson, now reignites the controversy with shocking revelations from those who knew him best—including a former close confidante who claims Simpson all but admitted to the crime. Mike Gilbert, Simpson's former agent of 18 years, recalled a disturbing exchange he had with the former football star shortly after his acquittal. “I said, ‘You know, O.J., I always thought you did it,'” Gilbert recounted. According to Gilbert, Simpson's response was chilling: “If Nicole wouldn't have opened the door with a knife, she would still be alive.” “He just kind of shook his head and said that,” Gilbert added. “I didn't sleep very well that night… So, I quit.” Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were brutally murdered outside her Brentwood home in 1994. Though O.J. was acquitted in the highly publicized criminal trial, a civil jury later found him liable for wrongful death and ordered him to pay millions to the victims' families. The docuseries also includes harrowing testimony from those closest to the case. Former LAPD detective Tom Lange, who informed Simpson of Nicole's murder, described his reaction as strangely devoid of curiosity. “He doesn't ask what happened, or anything else,” Lange said. “Not a lot of questions from Simpson… Didn't ask, ‘How did she die? Who would kill her?' We don't get any of that, which doesn't make any damn sense.” Nicole's sister, Denise Brown, was not as reserved. When she was told of her sister's death, her immediate response was, “It's O.J.! I know he did it!” according to Lange. Ron Goldman's sister, Kim, shared in the docuseries the horrifying reality of her brother's funeral. “My brother had his neck severed. So they had to hide certain parts so that they wouldn't see it… It was all very super f–ked up,” she said. Adding to the evidence laid out in the docuseries is the testimony of Ron Shipp, a former LAPD officer and longtime friend of Simpson. Shipp recounted visiting Simpson shortly after the murders and noticing a cut on his finger. When he asked about it, Simpson initially claimed he had cut himself on his car seat after dropping his phone. But moments later, Shipp watched Simpson give a completely different explanation to another visitor, saying, “I cut my finger on a glass in Chicago.” Shipp had long been in denial about his friend's possible guilt, but at that moment, he says reality set in. “I left his house and got in my car and I called my wife first and I was crying,” he said. “I was crying, because I knew he did it.” Shipp also shared that Simpson had confided in him about violent thoughts before the murders. “I've had dreams of killing her,” Simpson allegedly admitted to him. Nicole, too, had once confided in Shipp about the abuse she suffered. “Your friend O.J. hit me,” she told him. “And this is not the first time.” Despite his 1995 acquittal, Simpson was never able to escape the cloud of suspicion that followed him. He was later convicted in 2008 for an armed robbery in Las Vegas and spent nearly a decade behind bars. In 2024, he died of cancer at the age of 76. For many, the question of O.J. Simpson's guilt was never truly in doubt. And with American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson, the discussion continues, as the chilling statements and actions of those closest to him resurface—making it harder than ever to ignore the evidence that, as Shipp put it, “I knew he did it.” #OJSimpson #TrueCrime #NicoleBrownSimpson #RonGoldman #NetflixDoc #CrimeNews #AmericanManhunt  JANUARY 29TH Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? The Back Room with Andy Ostroy

Denise Brown's life was turned upside down on June 12, 1994 when her sister, Nicole Brown Simpson, was murdered along with Ron Goldman. Since then she's been committed to raising awareness against domestic violence. Since early 1995 Denise has traveled to various states speaking on the epidemic of domestic violence. She has addressed university student bodies, men in prison and in batterers' treatment programs, women at risk, church groups and various educational and legislative forums. She's helped raise funds for local shelters all across the country with her appearances, and has assisted in the success of a major project called the Vine System. This Program is an automated victim notification service of the release of batterers from jail or prison. As part of her commitment, Denise has worked to help pass a variety of legislative solutions for domestic violence. One of her most important projects was to lobby on behalf of the Violence Against Women Act, the funding of which she helped increase $18-million to $32-million. She's made a life-long commitment to educate the public as well as improve the quality of living for women and children who have been victims of domestic violence. Nicole was so much more than just a murder victim. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and mother. And so I'm thrilled to have Denise help us learn more about her sister and her life, sharing memories from their childhood through the day that short life tragically ended 30 years ago. She also shares her own heartbreaking journey; how she's personally navigated this nightmare; and her critical work as an activist against domestic violence. Got somethin' to say?! Activists Calls for Addressing Surrogacy Separately from Sperm and Egg Donation Women's rights groups are urging the government to address single women and lesbian couples' access to sperm and egg donation separately from surrogacy (代孕) when amending the Assisted Reproduction Act. According to Taiwan Women's Link director Huang Shu-ing, the government should give single women and lesbian couples access to assisted reproduction services already available to heterosexual couples. Huang says as surrogacy is far more complicated than simply allowing access to sperm and egg donation, discussing both issues together would delay the amendment. A joint statement issued by the Taiwan Women's Link and 26 other groups in the fields of women's rights, gender, labor and medicine also calls for protecting single women and lesbian couples' right to access sperm and egg donation services. The Ministry of Health is slated to hold its first public hearing regarding amendments to the Assisted Reproduction Act next Tuesday. To tam wystąpiły Swietłana i Krystyna. Pocisk trafił w jedną z dzielnic mieszkalnych miasta. To tam wystąpiły Svetlana i Kristina.

ELECTION OF NEW PRESIDENT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY This morning, the Secretary-General congratulated Dennis Francis of Trinidad and Tobago on being elected to lead the next session of the General Assembly.   He said that President-elect Francis brings a wide range of skills, experience and knowledge, adding that, in addition to his years working closely with multilateral agencies, he also is a respected negotiator and long-serving diplomat BLACK SEA INITIATIVE We are concerned about the continuous slowdown of the implementation of the Black Sea Initiative, observed particularly in the months of April and May. In May, 33 vessels departed Ukrainian ports, half of the number compared to the previous month of April. Only three of those ships departed from the port of Yuzhny/Pivdennyi, one of the three Ukrainian ports covered under the agreement. Exports in May reached 1.3 million metric tonnes of grains and other foodstuffs. That is less than half of the previous month. The Russian Federation has informed the JCC [Joint Coordination Center] of its decision to limit registrations to the port of Yuzhny/Pivdennyi as long as ammonia is not exported. And currently, it is not. Since 24 May. the number of inspection teams at the JCC has been reduced from three to two. The limited registrations and reduced inspection teams contributed to the drop of the average daily inspection rate down to three. This is a very serious situation. We need to move forward. The Initiative is bound for renewal on 17 July. Global hunger hotspots are increasing – as we have been notifying you on a regular basis - and the spectre of food inflation and market volatility lurks in all countries. The UN Secretariat has put forward practical suggestions to all parties at the strategic and operational level keeping in mind the global benefits of the Initiative. We will continue our intense engagement with the parties towards the full resumption of operations and continuation of the Initiative. In particular, we are looking for commitments on unconditional access of vessels to all three ports under the Initiative, increased number of successful inspections completed per day and predictable registrations to avoid undue delay of vessels, exports of fertilizers – and that includes ammonia- and the resumption of the Togliatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline. UKRAINE The Humanitarian Coordinator there, Denise Brown, condemned today new attacks on Kyiv this morning which killed civilians including one child. This sadly coincides with the country marking Ukrainian Children's Day. According to the UN Office for Human Rights, more than 1,500 children have been killed or injured in Ukraine since February of last year. The war also has had a devastating impact on the mental health and well-being of children, including millions who had to flee the country for safety, whether internally or outside. We, along with our partners, will continue to work to ensure they can receive the support they so urgently need.

That's testament to the courage, determination, and experience of the people we have there.” Close to 18 million Ukrainians are now in need of humanitarian aid and protection. Millions have been forced from their homes by intense fighting that has killed and injured thousands. In this episode, Denise Brown reflects on life under bombardment, on the dangers of trips to the front line, and on making a difference in the most difficult of circumstances. “We're in [some] places where very few others are. And we have the means, the experience, the capacity, that determination to be there. We are very strong when we want to be. And that inspires me.”

He explained that he was forced to pay attorney fees of $15,000,00 by December 31st, 2022 and if he didn't pay this amount she would send him to Debtor's Prison for 5 days and miss his next hearing. As he was extorted out of $15,000.00 of attorney fees suddenly  went on "vacation," so the next hearing was scheduled for March 16th, 2023.      Apparently, Judge Denise Brown MANIPULATES and lies while on the BENCH, thoroughly enjoying her job of EXTORTING monies and DESTROYING children's lives and families so she can choose the DESIRABLE outcome of a case to fit her NARRATIVE. Ernest provided evidence of his daughter's living conditions, but Judge Denise Brown "didn't want to talk about that." Seven hours later, frivolous topics, superficial at best were discussed and Ernest the Respondent, couldn't bring up evidence but strangely enough, the Petitioner could.    We discussed how to file affidavits along with JCC complaints upon the judge. Ernest explained that while he was in court Judge Denise Brown thought he was glaring at her and she told him to quit looking at her and look the other way...towards a wall.      Slam the Gavel welcomes Ernest Rodriguez to the podcast.  Ernest and his family is a victim of the Family Court system in Louisville, KY. This had been a very long ongoing domestic abuse relationship, both physically and emotionally draining from his ex, the mother of his child.        Within the first month of dating this woman, she had punched Ernest in the face because she would not leave his home. Ernest does not claim to ever be a victim in this relationship. Ernest has been physically attacked and emotionally abused, for as long as he has been in this relationship with this individual.      However, Judge Denise Brown simply does not care to address the true issues which happen to be Due Process, Subject Matter Jurisdiction, Admitting Evidence and addressing Psychological Child Abuse.     The mother moved to Dallas  but then moved back to Louisville KY as she was not able to keep a job nor home.       Ernest was kind enough to say that it was okay to live with him because he wanted his daughter to have a sense of security, so again, Earnest had to endure more narcissistic behavior.      On  Oct 1 2018, her family conspired to abscond with his daughter from Dallas, TX and go to Louisville. Kentucky, where the mother's family are originally from.  Once they successfully returned to Louisville,  the mother then filed an EPO (Emergency Protection Order. There are records she has since filed another EPO against her current partner. However, Judge Denise Brown is accepting  Jurisdiction in her courtroom.      The  NIGHTMARE continues as Ernest has tried to show evidence to the court of the video of himself being attacked by the mother, but JudgeDenise Brown just said she didn't want to see the video. The judge has put an EPO against him in which the mother uses to her advantage at whim. The ex even shows up to Ernest's home in Louisville unannounced only to cause more chaos.      Judge Denise Brown does not care about JUSTICE or making a change in the broken system. Judge Denise Brown is just there to not only pick up a paycheck, but to make other FIT PARENTS and their CHILDREN'S lives a LIVING HELL.     Ernest is now ORDERED to pay attorney's fees of $15,000.00 by December 31st, 2022 and if he doesn't pay this amount she will send him to Debtor's Prison for 5 days. Ernest was kind enough to say that it was okay to live with him because he wanted his daughter to have a sense of security, so again, Ernest had to endure more narcissistic behavior. On Oct 1 2018, her family conspired to abscond with his daughter from Dallas, TX and go to Louisville. Kentucky, where the mother's family are originally from. Once they successfully returned to Louisville, the mother then filed an EPO (Emergency Protection Order). His next hearing is on January, Friday the 13th, 2023. About 40% of employees are also family caregivers, but not all employers recognize the daily challenges of this growing community. To help these caregiver employees and prevent burnout, Denise Brown develops and leads training programs for family caregivers and their employers. It all begins by starting a conversation with your manager. Employees have the power to help design coping strategies and support programs to reduce stress at the office and remain effective workers. After all, caregiving is a very noble thing, but you need to be well to care for someone else.  — Don't forget to subscribe, download, and review to share your thoughts about the show! All Home Care Matters was honored to welcome Denise Brown for an in-depth interview about caregiving and to learn about how she is helping to support family caregivers.   Denise launched The Caregiving Years Training Academy in April 2020 after selling CareGiving.com, an online community she launched in 1996 to Ohio's Hospice. Through its blogs posts, podcasts and video chats, CareGiving.com held one of the largest online libraries of caregiving stories at the time of its sale. In addition to creating training program and support services for family caregivers, Denise helps her parents.   Denise began caring for her parents in 2004 after her father's bladder cancer diagnosis. Her parents, now 90 and 87, live near Denise in their own apartment. In a video created for the American Cancer Society, Denise shared her own personal caregiving story.   A recent online story in The Wall Street Journal also included Denise's caregiving experiences. Next Avenue named Denise a 2017 Influencer in Aging, one of “50 advocates, researchers, thought leaders, innovators, writers and experts who continue to push beyond traditional boundaries and change our understanding of what it means to grow older.”

We discussed our struggles with our child abuse trauma, how it impacted our adult life, and the ways we use our past for goodness. We both had the same profound event of a higher power speaking to us when we thought it was all over.
