Entre Paris et Londres, 1913 Nous voici rue de Provence, à Paris, au cœur du quartier des négociants en joaillerie. Cette histoire va nous plonger dans l'univers des négociants en pierre et en perles, dans les « coulisses » de la grande joaillerie. Comme à son habitude, Henri Salomons empaquète un bijou suivant une procédure qu'il maitrise bien. Et pour une destination qu'il connaît bien : à Londres, chez Max Mayer, l'un des plus grands négociants en joaillerie de la capitale anglaise. Voilà 20 ans que les deux hommes travaillent ensemble. Mais ce mardi 15 juillet 1913 n'est pas une journée comme les autres… Le bijou dont s'occupe Henri Salomon est d'une beauté et d'une valeur exceptionnelles… Il s'agit d'un collier composé de 61 perles roses. C'est un objet unique et rare. Mais ce jour est aussi différent des autres car, pour une fois, le colis n'arrive pas à bon port… Le paquet est bien parvenu à Londres, à Hatton Gardens, dans le quartiers des joailliers de la capitale anglaise. Mais Max Mayer a l'œil, et il remarque tout de suite que le paquet a une allure légèrement inhabituelle. Alors il se dépêche de briser les cachets, déchirer le papier bleu qui entoure la boite qui doit contenir l'écrin avec le collier. Mais la boite est fendue… et l'écrin est… vide ! Enfin, pas tout à fait vide : il y a des morceaux de sucre. Max Mayer contacte sa compagnie d'assurance : la Lloyd's… et puis… Scotland Yard. Le vol d'un collier aussi exceptionnel nécessite l'expertise des plus fins limiers d'Angleterre. Bien entendu, la presse en fait ses gros titres. Que ce soit en Angleterre ou en France. Le vol du collier de perle devient, dans les pages des journaux français, “ L'affaire du collier ”. Mais la valeur de l'objet volé, et son caractère unique, vont embarrasser les auteurs du vol.

Originally from Bosnia, Sabina immigrated to the U.S. as a war refugee, and started her professional career in theatre. She's best known for her feature documentary BACK TO BOSNIA (2005 AFI Fest / Director's Choice, 2006 Crossroads FF). Most recently she co-directed a Warner Bros./USC feature period drama VOODOO MACBETH, and wrote/directed the Alfred P. Sloan-winning short VARIABLES (2019 Sarajevo Film Festival), which won the DGA Student Film Awards Grand Prize, and was a Student Academy Award Semifinalist and HUMANITAS Prize Finalist. She also assisted writer/director Max Mayer on his feature debut ADAM, starring Hugh Dancy and Rose Byrne (2009 Sundance). She's currently in development on FOR BURAZ - a feature neo-noir mystery/drama set in Florida's Bosnian immigrant community, which was the 2018 Austin Film Festival Second Rounder.  Sabina's an Annenberg Scholar, a member of Film Fatales and Women in Film, and was recently selected for the Ryan Murphy Half Directing Mentorship, the Nantucket Screenwriters Colony, and the Stowe Story Labs, where she won the Tangerine Entertainment Fellowship.
