The Missouri Attorney General knows the law, and knows abortion by mail is not legal. He's fighting the fight to make sure the laws on this topic are upheld.
Statistics show that between two and five percent of those incarcerated were wrongly convicted and are actually innocent. Can you imagine? How do the wrongly convicted win their freedom? It's a long and arduous process that begins with a committed attorney and, often, those attorneys are assisted by the nationwide organization, the Innocence Project. One of those committed attorneys is our guest Charlie Weiss, a long time civil law lawyer in St. Louis, who later in his career was drawn to this work. Often the wrongfully convicted have been in prison for 20 years or more, and their families have exhausted all of resources to help with the person's defense, and they're all exhausted from the stress and frustration. It takes great resources to handle these cases, and it helps if you're part of a large firm that can commit manpower and has the assets needed to hire experts, conduct DNA testing, etc. And it takes years to cross the finish line. Perseverance is the order of the day. The process is challenging for two reasons. The first is the judicial system's reluctance to reevaluate a case. It's as if the system is saying, “We've tried this case. We're done. We must have gotten it right.” Finality matters, and, besides, what trial judge wants to admit that an error was made in his court? Which is to say, it's often an appellate court that orders a trial court take a second look at a case. And there's the matter of politics. Prosecuting attorneys get elected based on the convictions they win. Assisting someone getting released from prison doesn't result in votes. The Missouri Attorney General's office has a policy that it will oppose every habeas corpus case brought—post trial proceedings to seek to overturn a conviction—regardless of how good the evidence is. “They just automatically oppose it,” Charlie told us.Listen to our conversation with Charlie.
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey (R) has announced that his office has launched a probe of the city of Columbia's DEI programs. DEI stands for diversity, equity and inclusion. General Bailey made the announcement this morning on 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Missouri." He tells listeners that his office wants records and is demanding accountability. General Bailey tells "Wake Up Missouri" hosts Randy Tobler and Stephanie Bell that Columbia has also recently recommitted themselves to an accountability system:
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is undergoing a major transition after lawmakers and Gov. Mike Kehoe reinstated a gubernatorial board that oversees the agency. But the changes for the police department go beyond the reimposition of the state board. Attorney General Andrew Bailey's office will now be in charge of defending the St. Louis Police Department in certain civil litigation cases. That's because Bailey's office is in charge of defending state agencies against claims to the state's legal defense fund. “The legal expense fund is really the insurance policy for the state,” Bailey said in an interview on Wednesday. “So any claims enumerated in that statute that are in connection with the public officials duties are covered by [the fund] … the state's law firm, the Missouri Attorney General's Office, defends against them.”
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey details his allegations against STL Sheriff Alfred Montgomery; Chris wants to be able to wear shorts full-time; a record shattering run.

To wrap up the hour, he is joined by Alex Rich who previews his big weekend which will include his wedding! In hour 3, Mark is joined by Gerry Baker, an Editor at Large for the Wall Street Journal. He discusses the NYC Mayoral Primary results as well as the US' attack on Iran. Mark is then joined by Jeff Rainford, with Rainford and Associates and Former Chief of Staff to Mayor Slay. This Week In White Supremacy 1HOOD braces for the ripple effects of Elon Musk taking subversive control over Trump's second administration which may lead to the fall of the U.S. government.1HOOD opens this episode questioning why Elon Musk continues to tout DOGE's influence on public policy despite not holding an official position in Trump's second administration proposing the conspiracy that Elon is the one running the United States based on his dramatic hosting of press conferences from inside the White House Oval Office. Treble leans into this unprecedented scenario and tilts the flow of thought to the scale of economic repercussions introduced by Trump's federal layoffs and their potential impacts on the local housing market in Washington, D.C. and what that could escalate to in the future.Jasiri then transitions the conversation to a DEI lawsuit filed against Starbucks by the Missouri Attorney General, alleging that diversity, equity, and inclusion policies have negatively affected the company due to not having enough white people to serve coffee to polarized Americans who are addicted to the caffeinated brand. Finally, the hosts read and respond to Blackmail from a Free Speech TV viewer named Laura Garrett who is concerned about the tone between Miracle the main attraction and white supremacy's favorite supervillain Saïd accusing him of being misogynistic, and opening the opportunity for “The Wonder Twins” to provide a glimpse into the history of their chemistry while addressing the serious topic of abuse present within male female dynamics. --To help us build liberated communities through arts, education, and social justice visit our website 1hood.org to purchase your official 1HOOD apparel or consider making a tax-deductible donation to 1Hood Media. --WATCH THE SHOW: youtube.com/@twiws--FOLLOW 1HOOD youtube.com/@1hoodfacebook.com/1hoodmediainstagram.com/1hoodmediax.com/1hood--About:This Week In White Supremacy is the 1Hood podcast discussing the cultural effects and weekly injustices surrounding white supremacy; through intelligent, insightful commentary and often comedic conversations this podcast is geared towards adults who want to digest the latest news and events with humor and Hip-Hop.--DISCLAIMERS: The views and opinions expressed during this presentation are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 1Hood Media, 1Hood Power, and or its affiliates.
