This year Nga Hau e Wha Resource Teacher of Learning and Behaviour Amie Roberts won both the Apple Award, and a Teacher Mentor Special Award, for her work in implementing Structured Literacy into schools around Wellington. Her own journey into specialising in teaching structured literacy came from watching her own son struggle to read. She tells Kathryn her story.

He also serves as Chair for the Department of Management in the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration and academic director for entrepreneurship. Liz Roadifer writes in two completely different worlds. One work is dark thrillers. The other is romantic fantasy. It’s the romantic fantasy that’s making news. Signal Hill was named a 2004 California Distinguished School and was recognized as a Title I Achieving School in 2008. Signal Hill also received the Panasonic Fordham University National School Change Award in 2007 and won the 2008 National Excellence in Urban Education Award.
