Kelsey bought a big ole 12pk Variety Pack of these gigantic cans that come in 3 Flavors: Red Apple, Georgia Peach, and Pomegranate, all of which are also a lightly carbonated Green tea. The Editor wanted to make sure you know it says "lightly carbonated" right on the can so you don't throw yourself off with the flavor experience like they did. Then Matt shares the story of a bank robbery that occurred in Westover (around Morgantown), WV in the fall of 2024. This robbery potentially involves a local wanted suspect, whose identity is as of current date unknown to the public, that may be wanted in several other states for other charges. Sondra Witt Burch, age 88, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 7, 2024. The day prior had been a day of love, laughter, and tears, surrounded by her loving family. Following a private family burial, a celebration of Sondra's life is scheduled for Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 2:00PM at Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Robinson, Texas with visitation for family and friends immediately following the service. Sondra was born in Waco, Texas on March 27, 1936, to George Cleveland, Sr., and Virginia Craven Witt. She was a lifelong Waco resident and loved her community. She often reminisced about her family home on Washington Ave and the many mischievous escapades she and her brother Cleveland would get into as children and teens. As a young girl, Sondra and her mother Virginia knitted sweaters for WWII soldiers and entertained local soldiers from the USO by playing piano and organ duets and serving food in their home. During the Waco tornado of 1953, Sondra was having her senior portraits made at the studio of Jimmy Willis. These proofs were found 30 years later by Mr. Willis and personally delivered to the then Sondra Burch. Sondra attended Waco High School where she fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Jackson Bryce Burch and they married June 4, 1955. Sondra and Jack shared 53 wonderful years until Jack's passing in 2008. As newlyweds, Jack served his country in the USAF. While stationed in Germany, Sondra's fondest memories were being a member of the Officer's Wives Club and the birth of her firstborn son, Bryce. Sondra continued her love of service to others by helping organize projects to aid refugees during the Hungarian Revolution. Upon returning to the states, Treacy and Ben arrived six years apart to the day, completing their family. She managed to raise three lively boys while maintaining poise, grace, and style. She was known to bring orange juice or lemonade out to the waste management collectors on occasion! Sondra was proud of her heritage and the Waco community. She served on numerous placements through Junior League of Waco. Service was her gift, and she spent countless hours on local committees and Boards of Director including Waco Cotton Palace, United Way, Hedonia Club, Red Cross, Hillcrest Baptist Hospital Auxiliary, Providence Park Auxiliary, and many more. She coordinated blood drives, created Adopt A Grandparent programs and Adopt A School programs, and organized volunteer services and training through many local agencies. Even in her career choices, Sondra chose areas of service. After 25 years of serving as Director of Volunteer Services for Hillcrest Baptist Hospital she retired in 1997. She didn't stay retired long and subsequently served as Director of Volunteer Services for Family Abuse Center, Director of Volunteer Services for United Way, Director of Human Resources for Brazos Psychiatric Hospital, and Director of Volunteer Services and Community Relations for Christus Regis St. Elizabeth. Jack and Sondra prioritized family and Sunday lunch was expected at the Burch household. Some of the family's most treasured memories are those Sunday lunches, and family vacations to Colorado, Mo Ranch, and grandchildren only trips to New York. Sondra wanted her children and grandchildren to see and experience the world and all that life has to offer. She valued creating memories with each one of them and enjoyed “breaking a few rules” for the sake of fun! Colton and Tanner were introduced to the fine skill and technique of “wrapping” houses in Castle Heights along with Friday night sleepovers and non-parent approved movies at Honey and Papa's. Lottie, Amber, and Braxton were immersed in all thing's “girly” such as dolls, tea parties and pretty dresses. She wanted her children and grandchildren to know that life's rewards come first and foremost from a relationship with Jesus, a good work ethic, and treating people with kindness, love, and respect. Following the devastating loss of her husband Jack and two of her sons, Treacy and Bryce, Sondra found love again with Ross Sams Jr. They were married on March 16, 2010. She often called Ross her Knight in Shining Armor. She and Ross loved to travel when their health permitted. When they were no longer able, they reminisced about the adventures they shared together and “planned” many trips that we all knew would never be taken. Sondra was an avid Lady Bears Basketball and Baylor Football fan, a Dallas Mavericks fan, and she grew to love Texas Longhorn Football, Ross's alma mater. Sondra and Ross both suffered the devastating effects of cognitive impairment (dementia) in their later years. As their respective impairments advanced and health declined, it became necessary for Sondra to move to an environment with caregivers who could provide compassionate, empathic, and loving care, as this could not be provided in her home. She spent her final years at Arbor House where she was known as their very own “Georgia Peach”! Sondra flourished under their loving and specialized care and the staff quickly became family. She loved each one of them and we cannot thank them enough for taking care of “Honey.” Sondra expressed her unwavering love for Ross until her death. As with Sondra, we take great comfort knowing that when Ross entered heaven, his body was healed, his mind was restored, and all truths revealed. We know that they loved each other dearly. Sondra was a true “Southern Lady,” full of class and character. She was often compared to the late Audrey Hepburn who spoke the following words… “The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.” Sondra often exhibited this beauty in her kindness to others. She was the perfect hostess and became Pen Pals with many of the children of her close friends while they were away at college or in the military. She had a most giving heart and a beautiful soul. Sondra is preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Jackson Bryce Burch Sr., and Ross Martin Sams Jr.; two sons, Treacy Andrew Burch, and Jackson Bryce Burch Jr; and brother and sister-in-law, George Cleveland, Jr., and Martha Witt. Sondra is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Genie Burch; daughter-in-law, Tracy Burch Thompson and husband Darrell; sister-in-law, Catherine Burch Bass; grandchildren, Lottie Bullock and husband BJ, Amber Araiza and husband Icaro, Colton Burch and wife Meighann, Tanner Burch, and Braxton Burch; 6 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as her lifelong friends Betty Williams, Margie Allen, and Pat Dicorte. Sondra's grandchildren and their spouses will serve as honorary pallbearers. At Sondra's request, memorials may be made in her memory to, Meadowbrook Baptist Church Youth and Children's Ministry Camp Scholarship Fund. The following Ralph Waldo Emerson quote was found written in Sondra's handwriting. “To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition, to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived…This is to have succeeded.” Honey, you have succeeded! Till we meet again… Celebration Services and visitation are pending at this time. Please check back for updated information.Sondra's family invites you to leave a message or memory on her "Tribute Wall" at www.WHBfamily.com.

A Georgia-based neurosurgeon is sharing an important step to take when you check into an Airbnb. “The one thing that you can do to prevent injury to you or a loved one is to go around the house and identify where all the stairs are, especially if you're taking an older individual with you,” Dr. Betsy Grunch, a spine specialist, said in a TikTok recently with more than 79,000 views. In the headlines on #TheUpdate this Tuesday, Sean “Diddy” Combs is accused in one of two lawsuits filed of drugging and sexually assaulting a 10-year-old boy in a New York City hotel room in 2005. It's only $1, but crazed fans think AriZona iced tea tastes like a million bucks. The vivacious colorful-canned drink from the New York-based company has famously stayed priced at just 99 cents, but it's become a bonafide pop culture phenomenon over the years. Crazed fans have gotten tattoos of the infamous cherry blossom tree, collected hundreds of beverage cans or wrapped their car in AriZona's Georgia Peach can design. Now, it's opened AriZonaLand, located in Keasbey, New Jersey, is an immersive museum all about AriZona Iced Tea's history, which is attached to a factory that produces the popular beverage. And in Decision 2024, Vice President Kamala Harris will pledge to Americans that she'll work to improve their lives while Republican Donald Trump is only in it for himself as she delivers her campaign's closing argument today from the same site where the former president fomented the Capitol insurrection in 2021.

The autopsy revealed an overdose as the cause of death, ruling out foul play. Despite efforts by Paulding County detectives and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the man remains unidentified. Described as in his 30s or 40s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 190 pounds, with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes, he was discovered in black shorts, a T-shirt, sandals, and a black bandana. In Paulding County strict guidelines regulate burning activities to prevent hazards and environmental damage. Before burning, ensure fires are attended by adults and placed at safe distances from structures and flammable areas. Specific size limitations and regulations apply to hand-piled and machine-piled burns, while burning of structures is strictly prohibited. Campfires and bonfires have additional guidelines and require approval. Non-compliance may lead to civil action in magistrate court.........This from Paulding Fire/Resue Facebook Page    PACA Open House In Dallas:  Last week, Paulding County's Child Advocacy Center (PCAC) held an open house, attended by local officials and state representatives, including legislative delegation members. Describing pecans as "America's favorite nut," Stuckey's highlights their nutritional value and the 75% increase in global consumption over a decade. The petition humorously emphasizes the void in digital communication due to the absence of a pecan emoji, inviting pecan enthusiasts and fall season lovers to unite and make the emoji dream a reality. Stuckey's hopes to add a touch of nuttiness to the digital world, encouraging supporters to sign the petition and contribute to the pecan-shaped icon's creation..........This from the Georgia Sun  Well PC if you have a pecan tree in your yard you may be able to text your friends and family that they are ready with an emoji now. December 19th Show Notes December 19, 1934 – The New York Yankees send five players to the San Francisco Seals of the Pacific Coast League as partial compensation for the acquisition of Joe DiMaggio. The Yankees had previously paid $25,000 for the future Hall of Famer. DiMaggio will play one more season in the PCL before reporting to the Yankees in 1936. In ‘36, DiMaggio will hit .323 with 125 RBIs in helping the Yankees to a World Series title. December 19, 1976 — A single-engine Piper Cherokee plane crashes into the upper deck of Baltimore's Memorial Stadium, home of the Orioles, injuring the pilot and three others. Minutes prior to the mishap, the plane had buzzed the stadium during the final moments of the Steelers' playoff victory over the Colts.   The pilot of the Piper Cherokee was 33-year-old Donald Kroner. Kroner served three months of a two-year sentence for malicious destruction of property and violation of aviation ordinances. Kroner had been arrested prior to the Stadium incident for making threats against former Colt Bill Pellington. This included Kroner being accused of dropping a bottle and toilet paper from his plane onto the roof of Pellington's Timonium restaurant. According to news reports, Kroner was upset over being thrown out of the restaurant. Kroner died in 2013. Kroner had been fired as an MTA bus driver the day before the crash. He also had been a flight instructor and, according to some accounts, had worked as an air traffic controller. In 1980, Kroner was charged with stealing a Greyhound bus from Dulles International Airport. December 19, 1990 — At a press conference, Tiger management and WJR announce 1991 will be Ernie Harwell's 32nd and final season in the broadcast booth. The dismissal of the Motor City's popular play-by-play announcer starts a furor among fans, which includes a threatened boycott of Domino's Pizza, a business of club owner Tom Monaghan, and the rise of the slogan, “Say It Ain't So, Bo”, which appears on bumper stickers and T-shirts all over Detroit, referring to Bo Schembechler, the team president and former University of Michigan football coach. "[Harwell's situation is] not going to change no matter how much clamor is made over it," said team president Bo Schembechler. The situation caused outrage so much that some made threats of violence against Schembechler. Some, such as Mitch Albom, blamed the situation causing as much negative feeling as it did on WJR executive Jim Long who was the one who pushed the quick, no severance pay removal of Harwell.[6] The movement in favor of keeping Harwell was so strong that even billboards in favor of his remaining were put up.[7] Rick Rizzs was hired away from the Seattle Mariners to replace Harwell in 1992, teaming with Bob Rathbun. Harwell worked a part-time schedule for the California Angels in 1992. The following year, the Tigers were purchased by Mike Ilitch, who made it one of his first priorities to bring Harwell back. In 1993, Harwell teamed with Rizzs and Rathbun on the WJR broadcasts, calling play-by-play of the middle innings in each game. From 1994 to 1998, Harwell called television broadcasts for the Tigers on PASS Sports and later WKBD-TV. In 1999, he resumed full-time radio duties with the team, swapping roles with Frank Beckmann (who had replaced Rizzs in the radio booth following the 1994 season), teaming with analyst Jim Price, and continuing in that role even as the team's radio rights changed from WJR to WXYT in 2001. During spring training in 2002, Harwell announced that he would retire at the end of the season; his final broadcast came on September 29, 2002. Dan Dickerson, who had joined Harwell and Price in 2000, took over as the Tigers' lead radio voice. Died: December 19, 2008 in Los Angeles, CA Dock Ellis, a solid pitcher for the Bucs, is best known for his performance on June 12, 1970, when he would forever etch his name in major league baseball history. That night Dock, despite the fact he walked eight batters, no-hit the San Diego Padres 2-0 on the strength of two Willie Stargell home runs. Also that night, which he admitted later on, was the fact that Ellis pitched his gem while on LSD. Welcome to the wild and bizarre world of Dock Ellis. He had a 14-3 record at the 1971 All-Star break, but famously said baseball wouldn't let two soul brothers – he and Vida Blue – start the AS game. Ellis ended up surrendering Reggie Jackson's titanic blast at Tiger Stadium. He was also the starter when the Pirates become the first team to start 9 black players. Ellis, never one to avoid controversy, also hit the first three Reds on May 1, 1974 because he felt his team was lackluster. Ellis will eventually end up a Yankee in ‘76 and win comeback player of year after winning 17 games. Doc Finished up with 138 wins vs. 119 loses and a 3.46 ERA. In 1955, he broke Ty Cobb's record to become the youngest player to win a batting title. Al Kaline was one day younger in 1955 than Cobb had been in 1907, when “The Georgia Peach” won his first title. Despite a history of injuries, he tied Tris Speaker's record of 100+ games in the outfield for 19+ seasons. A future Hall of Famer, Kaline was born on December 19, 1934, in Baltimore, Maryland. In his 22-year career (1953-1974), the outstanding right fielder had 3007 hits, 399 HR, 1582 RBI, 1622 runs, .297 BA, .376 OBP, .480 Slg., & .855 OPS. In the 1968 World Series, Kaline batted .379 with 11 hits, which included two home runs.   Playing his entire career with the Detroit Tigers, his nickname was Mr. Tiger. He was an All-Star in 15 seasons, won 10 Gold Glove Awards, won a batting title in 1955, and was a member of the 1968 World Series champions. His uniform #6 is retired by the Tigers. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1980 (88.3% on the 1st ballot).

No matter the age, era or area, in this life, it doesn't matter who you are. When you look a certain way, the world is always going to have certain expectations of you. fIf you're plus size, people may expect you to be unhealthy. When you're tall, people may expect you to be athletic. And stereotypically when you're attractive, people expect you to be materialistic, sometimes excessively so, And unfortunately, for folks that look like Hip-Hop hottie @LiaGivenchy, exceptions of bad attitudes, greedy moves and the desire for someone else's success are never too far behind. Fortunately for the island born entrepreneur, the best part about the expectations that come with her looks is the never ending chances to prove them wrong and make them look as dumb as they sound. It may not be easy juggling successful in the music business, breaking barriers in the beauty industry and looking flawless while doing it. But the Brooklyn Beethoven turned Georgia Peach has been pulling it off, taking just enough time to keep the expectations that follow her just close enough to kiss her ass. And thankfully, she pulled up on @MrMecc & @K_Lavenne to speak on all of the above on the #MMMKRadioShow on @officialfuburadio via @radiodotcom & @iheartradio!!
