Esta es la historia de cómo podemos llegar a entender los ritmos biológicos con la ayuda de un pulgón.Mariano Collantes es Doctor en Biología Evolutiva. Ha realizado su investigación sobre ritmos biológicos en el Instituto Cavanilles y en el Instituto de Biología de Sistemas e Integrativa de la UV. Ha recibido el premio Joan Oró a la Comunicación de la Ciencia; es ganador de la primera Jornada de Divulgación de Tesis Doctorales de la Universidad de Valencia; fue finalista de Famelab; ganador del Valencia Emprende; Elevator Pitch; VLC/Campus Startup, entre otros. Ha participado en numerosas conferencias y eventos de divulgación científica, como las charlas TEDx, El Ser Creativo, Falling Walls y Ogmios. Es miembro de la Asociación para Proteger al Enfermo de Terapias Pseudocientíficas (APETP) y fundador de la empresa UVAT Bio.También utiliza la ilustración como herramienta para la comunicación de la ciencia, aspecto que desarrolla activamente en la plataforma de divulgación Ulûm.

Welcome the newest episode of Dark Discussions, your place for the discussion of horror film, fiction, and all that’s fantastic. Dark Discussions was able to once again attend the horror convention/conference, Anthocon. Guests included famous horror authors Rick Hautula and Gary Braunbeck but also dozens of other published speculative fiction horror writers. This year, horror films playing the convention circuit were shown plus art work of fantasy artists and a demonstration of a new role playing game. Cohost Philip was able to interview a number of fantastic talents including authors Jon Michael Kelley, Gregory Norris, Michael Bailey, T.G. Arsenault, Jo Lynne Valerie, B.E. Scully, Marianne Halbert, and David Bernstein. The creators of the role playing game, Hyperborea, gave us some time, and artist Ogmios discusses his fantasy and science fiction horror art and the upcoming graphic novel Summerlands. For anyone who enjoys genre fiction, Anthocon is one worthy convention to attend. Located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and during the weekend of Veteran's Day, the second annual presentation was a roaring success. Keep the dates of November 8th through November 12th, 2013 open when the horrific minds of some of the best speculative fiction out there return to the little New England coastal town.
