We start the show out with some idiocy that goes on out there on the road and in the docs. This has been one of the busiest weeks for us thus far. I haven't stayed out for more than 3 days in a long time. So it was a little tough on the family as my wife was very busy here at home. You take a walk to go get something to eat which there is nothing close to do so and you drop your trailer in a doc door!! An owner-op who says that he works 12 to 14 hours per day but still lives out of his truck because he doesn't earn enough. we dive into how deregulation helped lower costs for consumers but created hard times for truckers in the 1980s, and how factors like Electronic Logging Device regulations, long detention times, an aging driver population, and lack of home time are causing driver turnover rates over 100%.Support the show Follow us on facebook and Instagram. Tonight's special guest is Kimberly Stapleton from Augusta, Georgia. When she was young, Kimberly was adopted by two loving parents. She says, "In my early childhood years, my parents divorced, and it didn't seem to bother me at first. She went to live with her father and thought she was in a safe place but at 14, as she was entering high school, Kimberly was molested." She was alone. Kimberly had left her mom to go live with her father, an Over The Road truck driver. "Once I graduated high school, I started talking to girls and trying to help them get past things in their life as I too was trying to get past my hurt and pain." In 2017, Kimberly was invited to be a guest on an Internet Radio show and there she shared her testimony. "After the show, the producer asked if I would like to have my own show. He felt that it would help others. So, in July of that year, I started 'In My Own Words with Kimberly ImReal'. I had people reach out to me and thanked me for sharing. My story, as well as those I invited on my show, helped others." She stayed with the radio format for 2 years. In 2018 she started hosting her own event called 'Lay It Own The Table with Kimberly ImReal'. "In 2021 I started a ZOOM group called 'Keeping It Real with Kimberly and The Crew'." It has opened a lot of eyes. "I'm truly loving myself and the space I'm in." Kimberly continues to help others seeking speaking engagements. Filled with gratitude, she plans to start a Non-Profit this year dedicated to less fortunate parents, "I too could have been homeless," she says, "but God didn't plan it that way. What he did plan is for me to know that I'm not better than anyone, but I must trust His Process for my life and not be ashamed of what I've been through."

Larry Long first met Kevin at the annual CMC (Certified Master Contractor) conference in 2009 held in Kansas City. Larry was a brand new owner/operator and knew that he needed the advice of someone experienced in the business of trucking. They became fast friends, and Larry even served on the staff of the CMC. In the years since its formation, Blue Ribbon Logistical Solutions has used the principles and practices that Kevin teaches every day on the radio to operate our company successfully in ANY market. We are honored to have Kevin join us on our special 100th episode. About Kevin: He is a business trainer, author of national articles on trucking and finance, small fleet owner, tax preparer, and radio host of Trucking Business & Beyond. He started his career as an owner-operator 30 years ago, running a one-truck operation with the sophistication of a much larger fleet of trucks. Over the years, his experience has evolved into a comprehensive slate of professional skills including operations, logistics, accounting, financial planning, driver recruiting, information technology systems, fuel efficiency and preventative maintenance. Let us not forget about his newest endeavor of becoming an NTP (Nutritional Therapy Practitioner). Kevin's contributions to Overdrive Magazine, FreightWaves, Over The Road, Driving Force, Big Rig Owner, Pro Trucker and the widely recognized Randall-Reilly Publishing's “Partners In Business” series showcase Kevin's cutting edge grasp of the owner-operator success equation. He has authored several online courses on how to be successful as an owner-operator and has given seminars to thousands of owner-operators, drivers, and fleet executives in the U.S. and Canada. He has also prepared thousands of federal and state tax returns for owner-operators and company drivers. Kevin was also a member of the Florida Trucking Association “Road Team”. Currently, Kevin hosts Trucking Business & Beyond on SiriusXM / Road Dog Trucking. Kevin's down-to-earth ability to communicate to the professional driver with knowledge, experience, and statistics, makes the show the only one of its kind dedicated to the success of the American professional driver.
