From adrenal fatigue (not real) to seed cycling (also not real), Zoë and Kylee cut through the pseudoscience and explain what actually supports hormone health—like eating enough, managing stress, and getting some damn sleep. We also take a look at the unhinged history of hormone manipulation (yes, monkey testicle transplants come up), why cortisol isn't your enemy, and what to do if your hormones actually feel off. To celebrate the 100th episode of The Grant Williams Podcast, I'm delighted to welcome my friend Lynne Bryan Phipps for a discussion unlike any of the 99 that preceded it as she and I take a personal journey into the incredible world of Integrative Equine Therapy (IET). Lynne – an ordained minister, architect and psychologist and the founder of one of Rhode Island's leading charter schools – also founded Beachwood Centre, an extraordinary place where Lynne and her staff provide help for those suffering from trauma, anxiety, PTSD, grief and other stress-related issues, with the aid of horses. My own personal experience working with Lynne opened my eyes to something remarkable and, in this conversation, we talk about the remarkable work being done at Beachwood, the extraordinary data collected by Brown University, demonstrating the incredible healing power of IET and how (and why) horses are a transformational factor when it comes to this kind of work. This is a conversation you won't forget. At the end of the conversation you'll find ways in which you can help Lynne continue the important work being done at Beachwood. So, if you've enjoyed my work, and you're in a position to make a contribution – no matter how small – please consider donating to this wonderful cause. Every episode of the Grant Williams podcast, including This Week In Doom, The End Game, The Super Terrific Happy Hour, The Narrative Game, Kaos Theory and Shifts Happen, is available to Copper, Silver and Gold Tier subscribers at my website www.Grant-Williams.com. Copper Tier subscribers get access to all podcasts, while members of the Silver Tier get both the podcasts and my monthly newsletter, Things That Make You Go Hmmm… Gold Tier subscribers have access to my new series of in-depth video conversations, About Time.

Presented by 6D Helmets Several companies have seemingly created their own niches in the world of motocross parts and accessories, and Works Connection is definitely one of those brands. Starting with aluminum skid plates back in the 80s, the brand has also set the standard for on-the-fly adjustable clutch perches, holeshot devices, and bike stands. Eric Phipps is the man behind the brand and a long-time friend. It's taken several requests to get him to share his story with us, but lo and behold, he finally has! Enjoy!

GEORGIA RADIO – Country music has always had a way of telling the hard stories, and Makenzie Phipps isn't shying away from that legacy. Her brand-new single, “Love Me Sober,” released this April, dives headfirst into the heartbreak and heavy reality of addiction's toll on love—and it's already striking a chord with folks far and wide.Makenzie joined our own Matt Jolley for an interview recently. You can listen to the full conversation by clicking the link below—don't miss it!With a voice as genuine as a front porch chat and lyrics that cut straight to the core, “Love Me Sober” paints a raw portrait of a woman caught in a cycle of hope and hurt. “I wish I was your bourbon glass,” she sings, “I'd be close to your fingertips.” It's poetry, pure and painful, wrapped in a melody that lingers like a memory you can't shake. The song's message isn't just artistic—it's urgent. Alcohol abuse continues to be a heartbreaking issue across the country, tied to over 178,000 deaths a year. Phipps, through her powerful storytelling, shines a spotlight on the kind of pain that too often gets swept under the rug.“I love writing songs that have deep meanings to them,” Phipps says. “If this song is able to help someone through difficult times, then that means more to me than any award in the world.” That's the kind of artist we can get behind.Makenzie's already racked up millions of views with her heartfelt acoustic covers of classics like “Travelin' Soldier” and “Amazing Grace.” She's been featured everywhere from Whiskey Riff to Forbes to Taste of Country—and her momentum shows no signs of slowing.Catch her on tour throughout Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and beyond—dates are filling up fast. And whether you see her live or stream “Love Me Sober” from your favorite platform, one thing's for sure: Makenzie Phipps is a voice worth listening to.
Jeff speaks with Amy Nixon about the events held in Gallatin. He then engages with singer songwriter Mackenzie Phipps about her new project and Alcohol Awareness Month.

Stop wasting time and energy on solutions that don't work! This April Fools' Day episode of HairPod, Dr. Angie Phipps returns to help us sort fact from fiction. From the idea that hats make you go bald to the belief that topical treatments cause breakage, we dig into the most common hair loss myths and reveal what the science actually says. Hair Styling and Hair Loss Let's talk about traction alopecia—a condition that's often misunderstood or missed entirely. Dr. Phipps explains how repeated tension from tight styles like braids, ponytails, or extensions can gradually damage the hair follicles. But it's not all bad news: we talk about how to recognize early signs and what you can do to protect your hair if you've been relying on tight styles for years. Shampoo Ingredients to Help Hair Growth If you're trying to grow your hair long, taking care of the hair shaft is just as important as treating the scalp. Dr. Phipps shares tips for minimizing breakage and why gentle care matters. We also talk about how the wrong shampoo can do more harm than good. Harsh ingredients lurking in everyday products can contribute to dryness, breakage, and irritation, and knowing what to avoid is key. Hair Health Without Gimmicks This episode is a reminder that hair loss isn't something to be ashamed of—but the solutions we choose matter. When we understand the causes and treatments, we're better equipped to make decisions that work for our lifestyle, our budget, and our health. As Dr. Phipps says, there's no miracle product that fixes everything—but with the right approach, there's a path forward that makes sense. Resources Book a Free Consultation today! I did not realize that it's the fastest-growing neurological disease on the planet. That's why I invited my next guest, Leisha S. Phipps, into the studio. She is the executive director of the Dallas Area Parkinson Society.

There's a lot of talk about HRT and menopause right now—some of it incredibly helpful, but some of it creating confusion and even pressure. For years, HRT was viewed with skepticism, but now the conversation has swung the other way, making many women feel like they should take it—or risk missing out on essential health benefits. So, what's the truth? Should every woman take HRT? And if you're already on it, how can you make sure you're getting the most out of it before increasing doses or adding extra hormones like testosterone? In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Claire Phipps, a menopause specialist and holistic doctor, to have a calm, practical, and balanced discussion about HRT. We cover: The real benefits of HRT—and when it might not be necessary Why menopause care should be about more than just medication How gut health, inflammation, weight management, and stress play a key role in midlife wellbeing Why one size fits all approaches don't work—and what to consider instead Whether you're in perimenopause, postmenopause, or simply want to be informed for the future, this episode will help you cut through the noise and find an approach that works for you. If you're feeling unsure about your hormones and want clarity on what's going on in your body, my Hormone Insights & Support Service can help. This week, we discuss lousy quarterbacking (and lots of fumbles), the unique career of Bob Parsons; Ken Houston's stats with Houston and Washington; and running backs and tight ends becoming a larger part of the passing game. Oh, and actor Bradford Dillman's draft picks for the 49ers. Quote of the week: "Phipps to Pitts, twenty-six, equals six." Intro-outro music is "To the Well Once Too Often."
Hair loss “miracle cures” are all over social media, and the before-and-afters all look too good to be true. This week on HairPod, I'm speaking with hair loss expert Dr. Phipps to break down what works, what doesn't, and the science behind it. Hair Loss Cures - Hope or Hype? Hair loss can be an emotional experience for many people, and “miracle” hair loss cures seem to be on the rise. The number of options can be overwhelming, and if you don't know the science, it's tough to separate proven products from fads and trends. Professionals in the industry are your first line of defense against products that overpromise and underdeliver – working with someone who can help you understand your specific type of hair loss will save you money and heartbreak in the long run (see our resources section for a link to a free consultation!) Stem Cell Therapy for Hair Loss Is stem cell therapy a safe and effective way to fight hair loss? Dr. Phipps can't say for sure, as this hair loss treatment method has not been cleared by the FDA. Investigation into this is ongoing, as stem cells have been shown to have regenerative properties when used in other types of therapy. She strongly cautions anyone who seeks this type of treatment to only work with medical doctors to ensure that there is some sort of overarching regulatory practice. At this time, there is no guarantee that stem cell treatment for hair loss is effective or safe. Are Essential Oils Effective for Treating Hair Loss? Natural treatments for hair loss are trending on social media, but do the results live up to the hype? Dr. Phipps explains that some botanicals, like pumpkin seed oil and rosemary oil, often have stimulating properties for our hair follicles, which can encourage hair growth. These treatments can have some impact for people who are experiencing diverse thinning but probably aren't going to regrow hair on a bald spot. Dr. Phipps also cautions that cheaper essential oils probably are not potent enough to have a significant aesthetic effect, as the process of distilling these oils is very costly. Supplements for Hair Health and Growth Supplements and vitamins are an important part of overall hair health but aren't a good solitary option for regrowing hair or slowing hair loss. This depends significantly on the type of hair loss a person is experiencing and the quality of the supplements. Working with an expert in hair growth (not just someone selling supplements online) is essential to ensure the supplements themselves have undergone testing to ensure their effectiveness. When used as a part of a broader regimen, supplements can improve hair growth by strengthening hair shafts and improving health overall. The Best Treatments for Hair Loss The best hair loss treatment plan takes into account the cause of an individual's hair loss and uses a holistic approach. Proven medications like finasteride make up the most effective and safest options for hair regrowth and retention, and when included as part of a regimen, can yield great results for many people. Speaking with a professional can help determine whether they'll work for you and what options are available if they do not. Dr. Phipps advises that treatments that look “too good to be true” usually are, but urges people not to lose hope, as there are great treatments out there. Resources Book a Free Consultation today! Breaking Free from Founder's Bottleneck by Facing the Delegation Dilemma Steve's career took an unexpected turn in 2011 when he transitioned from a corporate digital marketing role to an agency position. His talent and dedication quickly propelled him to the position of VP, where he envisioned a long-term future. However, a sudden turn of events—the unexpected passing of the agency owner and finding himself in line to buy that business.— Although the deal fell through, Steve realized he was ready to step out on his own and launched Wayfine Marketing. With a strong focus on strategy, he tailored the agency's services to service-based B2B companies, helping them transform scattered marketing efforts into cohesive, lead-generating strategies. However, as the business grew, he encountered a familiar challenge: he became a bottleneck in his own processes. The strategy development process for clients became a significant source of strain. Despite having a capable team, Steve found himself deeply involved in the intricacies of creating strategy decks, often resorting to late-night work sessions to meet client demands. Recognizing the need for delegation, Steve is actively working to empower his team. He is committed to upskilling his team members, equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge to handle strategic tasks. Hence, one of his current challenges is to rework the agency's processes and systems to where he's not involved in everything and can focus on the areas where he is strongest and rely on his team for everything else. Leading with Purpose: How A Clear Mission Drives Team Success One of Steve's primary goals is to equip his team with the ability to make informed decisions that align with the agency's overarching objectives. By fostering a shared understanding of the agency's mission and goals, he aims to create a culture of clarity and purpose. When team members grasp the agency's "North Star," they are better positioned to evaluate opportunities and challenges critically. They can ask themselves: "Does this align with our mission?" and "Is this beneficial to our agency?" By encouraging these thought processes, leaders can ensure that everyone is working towards a common goal. A clear mission statement serves as a roadmap, guiding the agency's growth and providing team members with a sense of direction. When employees understand the agency's trajectory and their role within it, they are more likely to take ownership of their responsibilities, leading to increased accountability and initiative. The next step will be to record yourself doing a task you never want to do again. By documenting processes and sharing insights, leaders can create a repository of knowledge that becomes accessible to the entire team and fosters an environment where team members can learn from past experiences, both successes and failures, and apply those lessons to future challenges. 3 Steps to Train an Agency Salesperson for Success The level of alignment you'll need to build out your processes in a way that you can be sure the agency can run without you will require hiring integrators who can handle daily operations and management and are adept at managing processes and people. Success Stories. When it comes to preparing your sales team, start by sharing the stories they'll need to relate to clients and earn their trust. After decades of business ownership, agency owners commonly amass a wealth of knowledge and anecdotes that serve as valuable tools in client interactions. Separate those stories from your personal experience and start teaching them to your team as a way to gain the clients' trust while they gain experience and, little by little, start creating their own stories. Initial Calls. Once your team has a solid foundation of knowledge and skills, it's time to transition them into a more active role. Begin by training them to conduct initial client calls, providing them with a script and key talking points. Have them shadow you on these calls to observe your techniques and gain practical experience. Increase Autonomy. As they become more confident, allow them to take the lead on calls while you listen in. This approach provides an opportunity for real-time feedback and guidance. Continue this process throughout the entire sales cycle, gradually increasing their autonomy. Soon they'll be confident enough to sell with only bringing you in to add color, where needed. Remember, learning is often accompanied by mistakes. Encourage your team to embrace these setbacks as opportunities for growth. By reviewing recorded calls together, you can identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback. Do You Want to Transform Your Agency from a Liability to an Asset? Looking to dig deeper into your agency's potential? Check out our Agency Blueprint. Designed for agency owners like you, our Agency Blueprint helps you uncover growth opportunities, tackle obstacles, and craft a customized blueprint for your agency's success.
