The Spring Fling weekend was another dream come true, and whereas I will save the majority of my thoughts for Thursday night when J returns, I must acknowledge how grateful I am for the time spent with such exceptional people. Then we're into some parts of the news cycle from the weekend, which includes more mixed messages from the Iran War, a clear message from Stephen Spielberg for "The Church", and an all-too-familiar vote-counting situation in Los Angeles, and a genius idea to remedy urban "food deserts" in New York. Then i want take some calls before we welcome Mike Baldwin (MikeIsFunny.com) to talk about a thread I was contemplating on Tumblr the other night about common joys, annoyances, etc, that make the human experience a unified one over the course of ages. Estimated reading time: 4 minutes Party Favorz is back with the third installment of Club Taylor [Platinum Edition], continuing our complete overhaul of the original Taylor Swift remix series while pushing these final two volumes into entirely new territory. Expanding Beyond the Original Club Taylor The first two volumes leaned more heavily into the progressive, tribal and circuit-inspired sounds commonly associated with LGBTQ dance culture and festivals, while Volumes 3 and 4 expand into a broader modern dance spectrum that incorporates sweeping EDM, Progressive House, Dubstep, Future House, NuDisco and melodic crossover remixes geared toward hardcore Taylor fans looking for something beyond the expected club formula. Rebuilding the Series From Scratch As we started rebuilding these sets from scratch, it quickly became obvious that trying to force everything into one giant mix wasn't working. Even with strong remixes, too many songs began blending together after repeated listening. Taylor's songwriting style is so recognizable that placement and sequencing became just as important as the songs themselves. That's ultimately why this project evolved into four distinct volumes instead of simply updating the original release. Many of the strongest remixes from the original Club Taylor were already doing exactly what they needed to do, so they remained untouched. Others were replaced with alternate versions that better fit the atmosphere and flow of these newer volumes. In several cases, lesser-known remixes ultimately worked better than the bigger or more obvious choices because they allowed the songs to breathe naturally instead of overwhelming them with unnecessary production tricks. That approach helped shape the overall identity of the final two volumes. A More Modern Dancefloor Experience Tracks from 1989, Reputation, Lover, Red, Speak Now, Folklore, Midnights, The Tortured Poets Department and The Life of a Showgirl all coexist here, but they do so through a much broader modern dance lens than the earlier volumes. Songs like “Down Bad,” “Fortnight,” “Bad Blood,” “Karma,” “Cruel Summer,” “The Fate Of Ophelia” and “Opalite” naturally pushed the set deeper into melodic EDM and atmospheric territory, while classics like “Out Of The Woods,” “Ready For It,” “Blank Space,” “Style,” “Wildest Dreams,” “You Belong With Me” and “Shake It Off” helped anchor the larger club energy throughout the mix. At the same time, some songs simply didn't survive the rebuild process. A few remixes stayed too close to the original productions, while others disrupted the pacing or emotional momentum we were trying to create. Even fan favorite mashups were cut if they didn't contribute something unique to the overall listening experience. In the end, these final two volumes became less about creating a straightforward Taylor Swift remix collection and more about building a long-form dance experience that evolves from beginning to end without exhausting the listener. Party Favorz really pushed itself creatively on these final two volumes and we hope fans can appreciate the time and effort that went into creating them. We'll be back Saturday with the final volume where we diverge a bit and have something to say about what's happening in the United States at the moment. Until the next time...ENJOY! In Galatians 3:15–29, Paul reminds believers that while the world constantly changes, God and His promises never do. Pointing back to Abraham, Paul explains that salvation has always been by faith and that the promises of God were never replaced or canceled by the giving of the law. This passage reveals that God's law was given to expose sin and show our need for a Savior, but God's promises stand forever through Jesus Christ. In Him, all who believe are welcomed into the family of God, made heirs according to promise, and given an eternal inheritance.

But there's one Christian distinctive that's supposed to stay stubbornly the same in every generation, whether it's first-century Rome, Victorian London, or your life right now.We open with the strange but beautiful reality that believers often feel immediate kinship with other believers, even when they've just met. Then we turn to 1 Peter 1:22–25, where the main verb is impossible to miss: love one another. We dig into Peter's foundation for that command: “obedience to the truth” as surrender to the gospel, and a “purified” soul as God's past act in the new birth. Real Christian love is not a personality trait or good manners. It's the fruit of being born again through the living and enduring Word of God.From there, we get concrete about what biblical love looks like: sincere love without masks, fervent love that stretches like an athlete to the limit, and intentional love from the heart that starts as a decision of the will and becomes action. We close with Peter's incentives to love, our shared family identity in Christ and our shared authority under Scripture that outlasts every trend and empire, plus a final challenge to push the walls of our love wider than we thought possible. What if the very thing we're craving—being fully known and fully loved—is the one thing we're quietly avoiding? In this episode, we sit down with Neil Sullivan to explore the deep tension many of us feel between longing for authentic connection and defaulting to self-protection. We unpack why leaders—especially pastors—often feel isolated, and how that isolation keeps us from experiencing the freedom, joy, and transformation we were made for.We share Neil's powerful story of how performance, hiddenness, and attachment shaped his life—and how God is redeeming it through authentic community. Together, we dive into why friendship isn't optional for spiritual growth, but essential. We also break down a practical pathway to transformation—one that starts with humility and moves through vulnerability, feedback, commitment, and accountability. We reflect on the reality that we weren't designed to do life alone—and ask the hard question: do we have anyone in our lives who truly knows everything about us?This conversation invites us to step out of hiding, embrace honest relationships, and experience the kind of connection that leads to real change.Support the show

You might feel stressed, and within a few seconds it becomes “I can't handle this.” You feel overwhelmed, and suddenly it's “this is too much.” You feel stuck or frustrated, and your mind goes to “this is never going to change.” In those moments, it doesn't feel like a thought. It feels true. It's not just that you're feeling something uncomfortable. It's that the feeling turns into a conclusion about your life. Stress turns into “I can't handle this.” Frustration turns into “this will never change.” Discomfort turns into “I need this to stop.” Once that happens, it changes how you experience everything. It changes how you think, feel, and what you want to do next. So in this episode, we're going to break down why that happens. Why emotions don't just stay as emotions, why your brain turns them into meaning, and why that can make you feel trapped, overwhelmed, or hopeless, even when the situation itself hasn't actually changed. On Sunday, most Canadians lose an hour of sleep as the clocks get turned forward to daylight time. But while most of us have gotten used to the bi-annual time change, our bodies have not. And with a growing number of experts saying the practice messes with our sleep – should Canadians stop messing with the clock? Today, psychology professor Joseph De Koninck is here. He studies sleep at the University of Ottawa, and his recent research looks at how Daylight Savings Time impacts our circadian rhythms, what we can do to minimize the health effects the change has, and why he thinks Canada should consider staying on Standard Time year-round. Some things never change. God has always used fools to shame the wise, has worked to lift up the lowly and knock down the mighty, and demonstrated strength through weakness. And, oddly enough, even though Jesus refuses the temptations of the tempter in the wilderness, by the end of the gospel he will, in fact, do the things the devil suggests. Instead of turning a boulder into a biscuit in the wilderness, Jesus will feed the 5,000 with little more than a bag of wonder bread and a handful of fish sticks. Instead of pulling off a Houdini-esque magic trick that would make even the crowds in Vegas jump to their feet, Jesus dies and then refuses to stay dead. Instead of getting caught up in all the internal machinations of Middle Eastern politics, Jesus reigns from the hard wood of the cross and then ascends to rule over the living and the dead at the right hand of the God the Father Almighty as King of kings and Lord of lords. Jesus doesn't change from the beginning of the Gospel to the end, he merely makes the changes necessary for us to be set free from the chains of sin and death.
