ENTERTAINING SHORT FILMS is a new category on the RPA Network, which features indie short films for your enjoyment! We applaud these creators! In the 1970s a group of teenage girls test their nerve against the legendary Witch Tree, it is told to possess a dark ancient spirit with evil intentions. We shot this using a Panasonic GH4 and a variety of vintage Carl Zeiss lens from the 1960s.
My lens-sensor specific camera settings are now available on my website (in addition to my LUTs). The goal of my settings is to create a more realistic (and cinematic) look from every lens-sensor combination I have (including the Panasonic GH4, G7, G85 and GX85) and a growing collection of lenses!!!
The yoga world has changed so much since I started teaching 16 years ago. Back then I didn't have a website, use social media or have any fancy tech equipment, and I didn't know many (any?) yoga teachers who did! The need to be able to understand and use technology has changed a lot since 2005, and even more so in this last year...obviously. I'm so happy to have an episode for you today that has super practical answers to all your yoga-tech questions! My guest today is Alex Haley (he/him) and in addition to being a long time meditation teacher, he is one of the co-founders of the public benefit corporation OfferingTree, which provides an all-in-one platform for yoga teachers and studios to build a website, manage scheduling, take payments and coordinate communication. Alex has also worked for start-ups, mid-sized companies and large multinationals in business roles, so he has tons of practical experience to share with us! Alex is on the pod today to answer all your tech questions like: What is the best webcam? What is the best microphone? What is the best lighting setup? What are your thoughts about playing music through Zoom? What do you think yoga and meditation teachers most need in their website? What is the best way to seamlessly connect class registration to zoom links, billing and email reminders? How do you recommend yoga teachers effectively use SEO? What is the best way to collect payment for online and in-person classes? Resources Mentioned in this episode: webinars from OfferingTree, especially Meg Casebolt and Danait Berhe Logitech C920 ( ~$79) DSLR camera - Panasonic GH4 ( ~$650) Blue Yeti (podcast / video recording) Rode Wireless Go ( live teaching / movement / video recording ) Audio Technica AT2020 ( guided meditation / podcast / video recording ) Jabra Elite - many different models ( guided meditation / video recording ) AirPods Pro (live teaching / movement)

#054 - Dave Dugdale has been sharing his filmmaking journey on YouTube since he first got a Canon T2i in 2010. I stumbled across his videos a few years ago when I first bought a DSLR and was trying to figure out what camera settings to use. In today's podcast episode I chat with Dave about how he transitioned from making videos about real estate to drive search traffic into teaching video production and making videos for a living instead. We discuss why you might want to use a mirrorless camera like a Sony A7 series or Panasonic GH4 instead of a DSLR from Canon, give advice for making videos in a crowded niche, and why having a regimented release schedule for your videos might not be the best way to go.Items mentioned in this episode:Dave Dugdale's YouTube ChannelLearningVideo.comDave's Camera CoursesShould You Shoot in 4K? Filmmaker Ron Dawson talks about creating experimental documentary ImprovJam: A Musical Convergence of Jazz, Rock & Rap. ImprovJam captures the improvisational jam sessions of three of Seattle's finest jazz musicians, a rock guitarist, and a freestyle rapper. ImprovJam was filmed on location in the music room of Garfield High, a school with a rich musical history, boasting one of the finest jazz teams in the nation, and alma mater to such musical legends as Jimi Hendrix, Quincy Jones, and contemporary rap artist Macklemore. What happens when Ron and his crew takes nine video cameras including two Canon C100's, two T3i's, two 70D's, and four Panasonic GH4's - and records the convergence of jazz, rock, and rap is nothing short of magical.
