In the second part of our series called Welcome Home, Pastor Kim preaches about knowing Jesus and reaching the lost. She explains how there's a difference between cognitive knowledge of God and a personal relationship with Him. We are designed to participate with God at every level of human experience: mind, body and spirit. A life centered in Christ naturally becomes a sent life to reach the lost. The abundance of our intimacy with God spills over into a desire to be Christlike to others. Kim reminds us that reaching the lost is the heart of Jesus. We can't claim to love God if we don't love those whom God loves. As Christians we are called to be salt to preserve that which is good and light to guide the world.
Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good; Happy are those who take refuge in him. The lost are those who have yet to take refuge in God. They haven't tasted and seen that Yahweh is good. These are the people we are called to reach. Luke 19:1-2 Zaccheus was a bad man, engaged in a despicable profession that betrayed and exploited his own people. Luke 19:3-6 Jesus noticed Zaccheus. He wasn't so busy or task-oriented that he missed the wealthy man who had climbed the tree. As a high-status rabbi, inviting himself over to Zaccheus's house was a huge honor to Zaccheus. Luke 19:7 There will always be critics when you spend time with the lost. Even so, we want to be like Jesus and seek out those who are spiritually hungry. Luke 19:8-9 Zaccheus repented on the spot. He's ready to change his life. Love calls for a response. Martin Luther King used to say that love had within it a redemptive power. Luke 19:10 Jesus came to seek out and to save the lost. If you want to be like Jesus, you, too, should seek out the lost. Those who are lost really need help (Eph 2:12).The post Reaching the Lost first appeared on Living Hope.
n this episode, Pastor Jeff Reynolds is joined by Alex Watkins, David Tooley, TJ Renfro, Lauren Parish, and Keith Christopher to explore a vital and compassionate question: How do we as a church reach lost sheep? Together, the group reflects on Jesus' heart for the wandering and the ways the Church can embody that same love and pursuit. With Scripture, personal insight, and practical encouragement, this conversation challenges us to consider who the "lost sheep" are in our own lives—and how we are called to respond. It's a timely reminder of the mission we've been given and the grace that guides us as we live it out. --- This episode of The Beyond Sunday Podcast explores the sermon The Lost Sheep | Luke 15:1–7. In this powerful parable, Jesus reveals God's heart for the one who has wandered—and the joy of being found. Join us as we reflect on His relentless love and what it means to follow the Shepherd who never stops pursuing. Submit a question - bit.ly/BeyondSundayQuestions

Are we keeping the Gospel to ourselves instead of sharing it with the world? Pastor Donnie McClurkin challenges the modern church to rise up and return to its evangelistic roots. Drawing from Luke 14:16–23, he reminds us of Jesus' parable of the great banquet—a call to go out and compel everyone to come in: the broken, the forgotten, and even the elite. With passion and urgency, Pastor Donnie speaks on the vital role of public faith, the power of personal testimony, and the forgotten spirit of street evangelism. He recalls the days when the church didn't just meet inside the walls—it went outside them. We shouldn't keep salvation a secret. It's time to be bold, visible, and relentless in sharing the love of Jesus. Sermon Scripture Text: Luke 14:16-23 We stream live every Sunday at 11 am and every Wednesday at 8 pm. The greatest example of an evangelist or soul winner to ever set foot on planet earth was none other than the Lord, Jesus Christ. Whether it was the woman at the well or a great multitude, the Lord Jesus shared the truth with those that the Father sent Him.In the gospel of Matthew, chapter 9, verses 36-38, "And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest”. In the gospel of John, verses 5-7, “Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink”.Whether it was a single individual or a great multitude, the Lord Jesus ministered to them with all of His heart, for He knew that the Father sent Him “to seek and to save those who was lost”. We tend to forget that whenever we read the accounts of the Lord Jesus ministering to people, we are seeing the heart of the Father at work, for Jesus Himself said, “If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father”. At the end of each gospel and in the first chapter of the book of Acts we read what has come to be known as The Great Commission that has been passed down to every generation of saints throughout the history of the church. Jesus said to the disciples in the upper room, “as the Father has sent Me, so send I you”. And we learn from John 20 and Acts 1:8 that He sent them (and likewise God is sending us out) He breathed on them the Holy Ghost and sent them out. Please pray that the Lord will give you a renewed vision for reaching the lost to Jesus Christ and recovering the straying back into fellowship. We join you in prayer as we seek to invite people to come and hear and believe the everlasting gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. SELAH
In a world full of trouble, we're tempted to focus on what we CAN'T control instead of what we CAN do. Jesus told his disciples that through the power of the Holy Spirit they would do even greater works than he did. “We Can Do It” is a reminder of what really matters and a return to the simple ways of Jesus: Doing life together, loving our neighbors, reaching the lost, and making disciples. If you're ready to live a life that makes a difference, this series is for you! It will challenge you, equip you, and inspire you to change the world.

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of sharing a sermon titled “Seeking The Lost” with our local congregation. Ever since I was a little girl I dreamt of being a pastor (or an usher), and was beyond blessed with this beautiful and humbling opportunity. The preparation period was very different from my typical Wednesday message both for the podcast and our youth program. This stretched me in many ways, and the Lord worked on my heart preparing me and loving me through it all. I was shocked to see most of our high school students show up to church and have many friends and family with us in person and online. I felt loved, cared for, and prepared to share what Jesus asked me. It was if the pain had prepared to share this exact message, and the weight of it still weighs heavy on me. Not only do I believe this is a message directly from God's heart, but because I grew up in the pews, this message speaks to an even greater need for the continual growth and reformation of the church as a corporate and spiritual body. My prayer is that this message is not directly addressed to my local congregation but that, on a global scale, we see a need to reach the lost where they are, not where we want them to be, and not with judgment but with “our hand stretched out still.” ________________________________ Seeking a greater relationship with Jesus but don't know where to start? 1-26-25 | Jesus used parables to shed light on the inner workings of the Kingdom of God. Some understood, some did not. Over the next several weeks, we will work hard to grow in our understanding of the Kingdom of God through these parables in the Gospels. Come ready to learn and be surprised by the master storyteller; Jesus.
It's easy for church to become a personal experience—focusing only on what we get out of it—while losing sight of those around us who also need God and a church family. But God's heart is for everyone to know Him. Do we share that same desire for those who are still searching for Him?
We've seen how our big prayer as a church must be to grow in knowing Jesus, and in loving his church. Today we see how that flows into the final part of our prayer - to grow in reaching the lost. Evangelism is something most of us find very difficult. But God's plan is for the local church to reach the lost together. Listen along as Dan unpacks 1 Peter 2:1-12, showing us how we declare and display our God as a people, not just as individuals.
This is our annual “State of the Church” message, and this year's focus is on REACHING THE LOST coming out of Luke 19. How do we love lost people without condoning harmful and sinful behavior? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally will share three ways we can love the lost. Three weeks ago, we saw that Jesus described Himself saying:Luke 19:10 "For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost."Christians don't fight against the lost, we fight for the lost. Two weeks ago, we looked at the three ways Paul took the gospel and spread it far and wide in such a short about of time: in word, in deed and in power.Last week, Pastor Eric shared about losing the lost. How we act will affect people's perception of Jesus, so we must be careful and intentional so that we don't lose the lost through our behavior. Today, Loving the LostJohn 15:13 "There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends.""Like" is an emotion, "love" is a decision.Love does what is best for the OTHER person. Sometimes that's a hug, sometimes that's a push. James 1:20 "The wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God."Galatians 5:6 "...the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love." Three ways that we can love the lost:1. Say something.Mark 6:34 "Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things."One of the most loving things you can do for someone who is lost is tell them the truth about Jesus.Ephesians 4:15 2. Do something.1 John 3:18 "Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions."When it was God's time to reveal who he was to the world, he chose an act of service. A message without ministry is meaningless. James 2:15-16 "Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, 16 and you say, "Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well"—but then you don't give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?"Christianity is a counter-cultural movement; but it can't be a movement if no one is moving. 3. Be someone.2 Corinthians 5:19-20 "For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!"You are Heaven's ambassador, not Heaven's bouncer. Col. 3:14 And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.Love is the identifying uniform of the Christian. Are you loving the lost?
