In this transparent and deeply personal episode, Bobby shares a recent failure in his own life and how God met him in Psalm 51. Through David's repentance, he unpacks the powerful truth that our sin does not permanently stain us when it is brought under the cleansing power of Christ. This episode calls listeners to stop covering sin, to embrace God's compassion, and to experience full restoration—not just forgiveness, but renewed joy, spirit, and usefulness. Topics Discussed Honest confession and leadership transparency The difference between justice-based mercy and covenant compassion The meaning of “wash me” and “whiter than snow” Why sin is not a permanent stain for the believer The significance of hyssop and the Passover connection The role of the blood of Christ in cleansing and restoration Renewing a right spirit vs. living in discouragement or bitterness Restoration of joy and usefulness after failure The danger of covering sin and living with a “twisted” spirit Responding to conviction like David vs. resisting like Saul Key Takeaways You are not permanently stained by your sin—God can make you “whiter than snow.” True repentance appeals to God's love and relationship, not your worthiness. Cleansing is not just positional—it restores your joy, spirit, and usefulness. Feeling dirty after confession is a faith issue, not a forgiveness issue. A wrong spirit after sin is part of the problem God wants to fix. Covering sin compounds damage; confession opens the door to restoration. God restores you so you can be fruitful again, not just forgiven. If you've been encouraged by this podcast, please take the time to give us a five-star rating and write a brief review. When the world demands justice, does God offer a different way back? In this devotional on Psalm 51, we step into the wreckage of King David’s greatest failure—the affair with Bathsheba and the murder of Uriah. We move beyond a simple apology to uncover the specific Hebrew anatomy of David's confession: Pesha (rebellion), Avon (twistedness), and Hata'ah (missing the mark). We explore the shocking reality that under Mosaic Law, David should have faced the death penalty, yet he boldly asks God to "create a way" where the law offered none. Hello,Kindly listen to the teaching titled THE JOY OF SALVATION (Psalms 51:12) by Mrs. Joy Bangirana from the Lunch Hour of Wednesday, 7th January 2026
By Jay Ledbetter - This sermon teaches that true joy is not mere happiness tied to circumstances, but the supernatural Joy of Salvation produced by the Holy Spirit. Rooted in Christ's saving work, this joy flows from an inward transformation, remains firm through suffering and trials, and stands as living evidence of
Using Matthew 18, the message exhorts listeners to recover childlike wonder and faith, to avoid spiritual complacency, and to live as useful, revived followers of Christ. This episode also looks at Isaiah 43 and Ezekiel and gleans teachings how God brings new beginnings, turns our past wilderness into a path, and His grace flows through our lives.
Joy isn't just a feeling for easy seasons. In this episode, Pastor Jose and Dr. Carl talk through Luke 2 and the “good news of great joy” — exploring how Jesus as Savior, Messiah, and Lord anchors joy even in grief, hardship, and unmet expectations.

In this message, Dr. Carl Follingstad explores the deep and lasting joy found in salvation. From the humble arrival of Jesus in Luke 2 to the victorious triumph of Christ in Colossians, this teaching traces God's redemptive plan and reminds us that true joy is rooted not in circumstances, but in who Jesus is and what He has done.

In this profound and hope-filled Advent message, Pastor Karl continues the Christmas series with an honest, Scripture-saturated exploration of the third great gift Jesus brings: joy. Turning to the familiar yet astonishing encounter in Luke 1:26–38, Pastor Karl places us in the world of a young, powerless Mary—living in obscurity, poverty, and spiritual dryness under Roman oppression—when an angel suddenly declares her “highly favored” and announces she will bear the Son of God as a virgin. With pastoral clarity and compassion, Pastor Karl redefines biblical joy not as a forced smile, fleeting happiness, or denial of pain, but as a deep, settled confidence and calm cheerfulness in God—even when circumstances feel devastating. Mary's potentially ruinous situation (public shame, rejection, and lifelong stigma) becomes the backdrop for a joy that is rooted not in perfect conditions but in surrender to a perfect Savior. Joy, he shows, is not situational; it flows from trusting God's greater reality, His unchanging character, and His presence when clarity is absent.Drawing from Mary's radical response—“Let it be to me according to your word”—Pastor Karl tenderly calls every listener to the same doorway of lasting joy: radical surrender. Whether facing disappointment, health struggles, dashed dreams, or seasons of grief, joy grows when we release control, timelines, and the need to understand, and instead say “Yes, Lord” to whatever He has spoken. This is essential listening for anyone longing to move beyond seasonal happiness into the quiet, resilient cheerfulness that only Christ, born in a manger and risen from an empty tomb, can give.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm
SERMON TITLE: Joy of SalvationADVENT THEME: JoySCRIPTURE: Isaiah 12:1-6THE BOTTOM LINE: True joy is found in knowing that you have been saved.PROMO DESCRIPTION:If you ever find yourself overwhelmed in all the emotions of Christmas but you realize that joy is nowhere to be found, perhaps it is because you aren't looking in the right place, or you are looking for the wrong joy. In Isaiah 12 we look at the kind of joy promised to God's people, and it is very specific. It is the Joy of Salvation. This not something the stores can sell you. It is not something that secular music artists sing about. It is not something that "Commercial Christmas" has on offer at all. True lasting joy is found in knowledge of and relationship with God. We are given this gift through Jesus Christ and it doesn't fade by Boxing Day but grows throughout this life and stretches into eternity.Join us this week as we look beyond the world's version of joy to the Joy of Salvation. #JoyOfSalvation #Advent #AdventJoy #ChristmasSermon #ChristianJoy #Salvation #GospelMessage Support the show
In this stirring and deeply encouraging Advent message, Pastor Karl continues the series The King Has Come with a raw and life-giving exploration of the second great gift Jesus brings: peace.Turning to the familiar yet profound scene in Luke 2:8–20, Pastor Karl invites us into the midnight terror of ordinary shepherds—suddenly confronted by the blinding glory of God—and shows how the very first words from heaven that night were not “Merry Christmas,” but “Fear not.” That first Christmas did not begin with sentimental calm; it began with paralyzing, mega-fear. And right there, in the middle of stacked-on-stacked fear, the angel announced good news of great joy: a Savior has been born who is Christ the Lord, the Prince of Peace. With pastoral tenderness and unflinching honesty, Pastor Karl unmasks fear as the mortal enemy of peace—how it magnifies threats, shrinks our view of God, and paints our future in colors darker than God ever intended. Yet the gospel is stronger: peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of a Person. Peace is not something Jesus gives; peace is who Jesus is—and He gives Himself.Through the shepherds' journey from terror to testimony, we're given clear, scriptural paths out of fear and into the unshakable peace of Christ: speaking God's truth over fear's lies, refusing to agree with the spirit of fear, drawing near to Jesus through spiritual disciplines, and taking bold steps of obedience that move us against comfort and toward surrender. This is a word for everyone whose heart has been ruled by anxiety, worst-case scenarios, or the quiet fears that steal joy—especially in this season. A tender yet urgent call to stop trusting the unknown future to our own control and start trusting it to the known God who entered our fear as a baby in a manger.Because the King has come, fear does not get the final word. Peace does. And when the Prince of Peace takes over a life, what spills out is no longer fear—but praise, testimony, and unshakable confidence in the goodness of God.Essential listening for anyone who longs to trade fear for the peace that passes all understanding this Christmas.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

Jubilee and joy are featured frequently in Luke's gospel. People are constantly rejoicing. Why? Because they encountered Jesus and salvation. Trace the themes of jubilee and joy in the gospel of Luke with us. Together we'll study Jesus' parables and the famous story of Zacchaeus to recognize the importance of these themes, how they connect to and continue the tradition of the Old Testament's Year of Jubilee, and what this means for how we faithfully respond to our own encounters with Jesus and salvation today.

Message from Jefferson Tokurah on May 28, 2025
Elder Ron Evans preached through Luke 15 and spoke about the joy we are called to have for those who come to know the Lord. We should always rejoice when a sinner “comes home”!
Imagine being found guilty of a heinous crime, and instead of being rightfully punished you are set free and given a reward that will greatly bless the rest of your life. That is the message of Christmas! Of all the things that bring us joy during this season from an earthly practical sense, making it the most wonderful time of the year, the greatest blessing of all is that our sins are forgiven and we will be rewarded with the paradise of heaven someday. All of it given to us by grace, none of it deserved, and that alone makes the joy beyond expression. The birth of Jesus set all of this in motion.
