Stop being invisible in meetings. Stop decreasing your value in the company. Have a take! Offer an opinion. Give some insight. In this episode Lone Rock Leadership co-founder Russ Hill takes a position! He claims the most valuable people in any organization aren't those who simply show up. They're the ones who listen carefully, then boldly state: "I think we should sell this division" or "We need to delay this product launch by six months." These clear positions immediately engage others, creating momentum where before there was only stagnation. This episode explores why decisiveness matters so deeply in leadership and how it separates forgettable team members from indispensable ones. We dive into the neuroscience behind why our brains naturally search for opinions to react to, and why concise, position-based communication outperforms rambling explanations every time. You'll learn the powerful "Listen, Position, Listen" framework that transforms how others perceive your leadership. Plus, discover why the shortest comments often carry the most weight, and why preparation before meetings dramatically increases your impact. Most importantly, you'll understand the critical balance between having strong opinions and remaining flexible enough to change course when new information emerges. For leaders evaluating team performance, this episode provides clear signals to identify who's truly adding value versus who's merely occupying space. Today was a Monday in every sense of the word. The phone lines went out so Dave was left stranded, and had to divert to old-fashioned story telling! It started with a fail for the winner of a recent NASCAR race. The creeps were out this weekend, even at a Wawa not too far from here! A toddler mistook her Dad's compliment for an insult, and women have started ordering like a man to get bigger portions. Dave told a story from his experience at the Third Eye Blind concert on Friday night, then waxed nostalgic about people-watching at Musikfest through the years! There are few things as iconic on an astronaut's flight suit as their mission patch—a singular piece of art that encapsulates everything about the mission: who's going, what country they're from, what vehicle they're riding, where they're headed, and what they plan to do when they get there. From space shuttles to space stations, from space telescopes to asteroids, this week's guest is the man who designed hundreds of them—Tim Gagnon. From the very first sketch he submitted as a kid, to the dozens that actually flew to space, to the one he finally made with his own name on it for his analog astronaut mission in Utah, Kovi and Benjamin close out Season 6 of their show by asking the most important question of all:What would a mission patch look like for their show, where the mascot is a rubber duck?

In this Henshin Men re-upload, you'll hear Jake's first podcast appearance. He joined Nate to discuss Masked Rider: The First (aka Kamen Rider: The First), which is now getting a blu-ray re-release from Media Blasters. The first episode of our Kamen Rider Faiz coverage is coming soon! The original shownotes: Henshin Men goes from a reimagining of the original Kamen Rider (1971) to a reimagining of Kamen Rider Black and now back to what Nathan says is the superior reimagining of the 1971 series and manga: Masked Rider: The First (2005). He's joined by aspiring podcaster Jake Hambrick to dive into this unique Japanese superhero film. It borrows more from Shotaro Ishinomori's manga than the TV series, so it lacks tropes like the iconic henshin pose, and has an almost Sam Raimi Spider-Man flair to it. What truly makes it stand out, though, is its theme: the power of beauty. Throw in some great practical effects and solid fight scenes, and you have a winner in the remake debate. Every single one of us is guilty of using some pretty common forms of Stinkin' Thinkin' at times. Psychologists use fancier word to describe Stinkin' Thinkin'… we call them Cognitive Distortions. Thinking Traps are also words to describe negative thoughts because they often leave us feeling TRAPPED on a hamster wheel of negative thoughts that spin out and result in negative feelings and ultimately result in unhealthy behaviors. I had a patient say it much more clearly… she told me, “Negative thoughts result in negative behaviors.” Enough said! Therefore, we need to become aware of the Cognitive Distortions we use most frequently and employ the skills from last week's episode to change our thoughts and therefore change our behavior. BECAUSE… Healthy thoughts lead to Healthy Behaviors! Let's get started and face the truth!Resources:BariAfterare: www.bariaftercare.comConnie Stapleton PhD website: www.conniestapletonphd.comBariAftercare website: https://www.conniestapletonphd.com/bariaftercareBariAftercare Facebook page (for members only): https://www.facebook.com/groups/BariAftercareKevin Stephens: Your Bariatric Buddy https://www.facebook.com/groups/yourbariatricbuddy/peopleInstagram: @cale101 (Caleshia Haynes)Instagram: @therealbariboss (Tabitha Johnson)Instagram @drsusanmitchell (Dr. Susan Mitchell)Instagram: @lauraleepreston (Laura Preston)ProCare Vitamins (10% off with code ConnieStapleton)Rob DiMedio: https://www.busybariatrics.com/Dr. Joan Brugman: drjbrugman@outlook.comDr. Susan Mitchell:https://www.facebook.com/DrSusanMitchellhttps://www.facebook.com/bariatricsurgerystrategiesCognitive Behavior Worksheets:https://www.mentallyfitpro.com/c/free-therapy-worksheets/cognitive-behavioral-therapy-cbt-worksheetshttps://www.therapistaid.com/therapy-worksheet/abc-model-for-rebt50 Common Cognitive Distortions Alice Boyes Ph.D.15 Types of Cognitive Distortions/Worksheet10 Common Types of Cognitive DistortionsPlease subscribe to the show and rate it on Apple Podcasts, download free information at www.connie

Did you know that we recyle something like 90% of our thoughts over and over, day after day AND that about 85% of those recycling thoughts are NEGATIVE thoughts? That's what some research says! And I happen to believe that… even if we're not aware of all those automatic negative thoughts on the hamster wheel of our mind. We need to change this to make room for and to create new, healthier neuropathways that keep us engaged in a non-stop loop of more neutral and positive thoughts! You've heard the saying… change you thinking, change your life. It's true. In this episode you will learn specific skills for challenging and changing negative thoughts using tried and true cognitive behavior tools. In Week 4 of our Stinkin' Thinkin' series, we dive into one of the most dangerous mindsets that can derail our spiritual lives: Entitlement – the belief that we inherently deserve privileges or special treatment. We explore how entitlement distorts our perspective, blurs the line between rights and privileges, and ultimately pulls us away from a Christ-centered mindset. Through scripture, history (like Napoleon Bonaparte's legacy), and real-life examples, we're challenged to trade pride for humility and adopt the mind of Christ.
In this week's message, we tackle the subtle yet toxic mindset of apathy, exploring its dangers and how it can quietly lead us away from a passionate faith. Drawing from Revelation 3, we learn about the church in Laodicea, which Jesus rebukes for being lukewarm and indifferent. Apathy is described as a slow-growing cancer of the soul, numbing us to the point of spiritual detachment. But there's hope—Jesus calls us to wake up, shake off the numbness, and reignite our passion for Him. Join us as we confront apathy, seek to rekindle our spiritual fire, and embrace a life full of purpose and urgency. Don't miss our practical steps and prayers to help you move from "meh" to fully alive in Christ.

There are some storylines developing, such as some changes in the batting order and perhaps another which needs to be made?
