In Peter's time, some people wished to live without God so they rationalized Him into irrelevance. Others, thinking He had disappeared from the scene, sought life without Him. Infertility has a way of quietly reshaping how you see yourself. In this episode of Purpose Beyond Motherhood, we sit down with counselor and ministry leader Monica Bates for a gentle, honest conversation about identity, emotional health, and finding your footing again with God while you're still waiting. We talk about what it looks like to name what you're actually feeling without rushing to fix it, how grief and stress can dysregulate both your body and your faith, and why Scripture calls you God's masterpiece even when your life doesn't feel whole. This episode is for the woman who feels disconnected from herself. For the one who loves God but feels emotionally worn down. For the one who needs permission to slow down and tell the truth. You don't have to pretend here. You are still deeply seen. What happens when a viral political debate meets centuries of biblical prophecy—and your kids are the ones asking the hard questions? In this pivotal episode, Catherine confronts a question that’s as theologically complex as it is culturally relevant: Is the modern nation of Israel the same Israel God promised to Abraham, or has the church replaced her in God’s plan? This topic has taken center stage in cultural and theological debates, fueled by viral exchanges between commentators like Tucker Carlson and Ted Cruz, as well as in the classroom, on college campuses, and around family dinner tables. Catherine welcomes back Jewish historical scholar Clifton Payne Junior for a deep dive into Israel’s biblical, historical, and genealogical identity. Key moments include: The viral exchange between Tucker Carlson and Ted Cruz that exposed how unprepared many believers—and national leaders—are to answer “Is the Israel of Genesis 12 the same as modern Israel?” Dinesh D'Souza’s fascinating breakdown of how the Jewish people have genetically, culturally, and historically preserved their identity despite centuries of exile and persecution. Powerful prophecies in Ezekiel, Isaiah, and Amos—read in synagogues on the very day Israel was reborn in 1948—that reveal God’s hand at work through history. The “dry bones” prophecy, dissected in real-time as evidence of God reviving both the physical and spiritual life of the Jewish nation, with numbers of Messianic Jews in Israel growing 100-fold since 1948. A behind-the-scenes look at why so many Christians (and their kids) misunderstand Israel’s role in God’s redemptive plan, and how replacement theology distorts our perspective and engagement with both history and scripture. The core of “replacement theology” and why it matters. Whether the modern state of Israel (established in 1948 and led by Benjamin Netanyahu) is truly the continuation of the nation God promised to Abraham. The mystery of partial spiritual blindness over the Jewish people, the rise of Messianic Jews, and scriptural explanations many Christians and Jews have missed. The danger of misunderstanding Israel’s significance, and how well-meaning Christians and secular thinkers alike have sometimes distorted or neglected the biblical narrative. Special attention is given to Ezekiel 37’s “valley of dry bones” prophecy, the fulfillment of Isaiah 66’s “nation born in a single day,” and the astonishing coincidence that the scheduled synagogue reading on the Sabbath Israel was reborn included Amos 9’s promise of restoration—a detail highlighted from Jonathan Cahn’s Book of Mysteries. Through scholarly insight, biblical exposition, and practical application, this episode equips parents to have intelligent, faithful conversations with their children about Israel, prophecy, and what it means to “bless” this nation. It concludes with a call to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and a reminder that God’s faithfulness to Israel is a testament to His faithfulness to all His people. Meet the Guest: Guest bio: Clifton Payne Junior is a gifted Bible teacher and Jewish historical scholar with advanced studies in Jewish history from Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Author of “What the Bible Really Says About Tithing and Giving: It’s Different Than You Think,” he brings clarity and depth to some of the most misunderstood questions facing the Church today. Visit Catholicanswersspeakers.com Questions Covered: 02:35 – I heard a claim that writing goes back 20 or 30 thousand years, and that Jesus was taking things from these texts, and also that Noah's flood was copied from one of these ancient texts. Is this true? 17:17 – It seems like liberal Catholic theology is focused on advancing political initiatives. But are there “liberal” Catholic theologies that are still within the bounds of orthodoxy? 24:33 – After the death of Jesus, did the Jewish people stop being the chosen people? 40:50 – Can you explain Marcianism to me? Did they believe in two separate gods? How did that come about? 45:05 – If Jesus gave the Church the power to bind, then why are married people no longer married in heaven? 48:29 – Could Protestants get married at my home? 49:42 – What is the Catholic understanding of Jesus' statement that the gates of Hell would not prevail against the Church? 52:40 – What is the Church teaching on head coverings and women wearing makeup to Mass?

We live in an unprecedented time where incredible amounts of information are readily at our fingertips, and at the same time we are starving for wisdom. We know that information is not the same as wisdom, but the keen observer will also recognize that human wisdom will only take us so far. In fact, the whole mess the human race is in, according to the Bible, stems from humanity grasping for knowledge and forsaking the wisdom of Creator God.Still – God offers us his wisdom, again and again, all through the biblical narrative. Our response to God's wisdom will effect the way life plays out, and never more so than when it comes to the wisdom revealed in Christ. How we respond to God's kingdom closing in on this world will have varying results in accordance with our response. That is something Jesus will highlight in the section of Matthew we'll be reading this Sunday, Matthew 11:20-30.Jesus gives some of his harshest rebukes outside of the religious leaders in v20-24. What is the repeated reason for their looming judgement? Do you think Jesus is angry with these people? What do you believe is motivating his words? What appears to be the result of rejecting God's kingdom? In v25-27 we see that everyone didn't reject Jesus' presentation of the kingdom. Who does it say it was revealed to? What do you think is significant in the contrast between the “childlike” and the “wise and clever” ones? What implicit attitudinal response seems necessary for recognizing and embracing God's wisdom revealed in Christ? Some of Jesus' most beautiful words are spoken in v28-30. Here's the thing – read them. Read them again. Read them from the Message version. Read those words out loud and hear them coming from Jesus to you, personally. Tell me how those words make you feel. What is the result of surrendering to Jesus and the wisdom of God?I can't wait to dig into this passage together! Hope to see you Sunday!Click here for a pdf of the teaching slideshow.

Yep, Darby and I just kept talking and decided to hit record! All truth is God's truth! Even non-believers can use spiritual principles. We, as maturing Sons of God, need to be operating at a higher level of understanding, power, and authority to bring more heaven to earth!HIGHLIGHTS:1. Spiritual laws work—whether you know Jesus yet or not. Just because someone isn't in a church pew doesn't mean they're not getting results. Why? Because they're tapping into spiritual principles that God wired into the universe. All truth is God's truth—even if people stumble into it without knowing the Source. It's not New Age magic; it's divine design. Now, if they are accessing this power outside of Christ, there will be a price to pay. Jesus already paid the price for us as believers to access this spiritual power.2. The enemy doesn't create—he imitates.Satan has zero original ideas. He can only copy God's systems and twist them. That means when people use spiritual tools the wrong way, it's not because the tools are bad—it's because they're being hijacked. The original blueprint? Still God's.3. We're wired to desire—but only God fulfills.Desire isn't sinful. It's sacred. We were designed with desire on purpose—by God. The problem is when we try to satisfy that desire outside of Him. So what are addictions? Misguided attempts to fill a divine ache that only Jesus can satisfy.4. You're not just a spectator—you're a co-creator.We're not meant to just pray “Your will be done” and sit around waiting. We were created to go into heaven, see what God wants, and bring it here. That's not some woo-woo theology—it's kingdom responsibility. You've got authority, and you're built to orchestrate things from the spiritual realm.5. Comfort is the enemy of calling. When everything shakes (and it will), what's really being tested is where your security lies. Are you clinging to the conveniences of the world, or are you anchored in the unshakeable kingdom? The illusion of safety keeps people stuck—but you? You were made for more than microwave faith and spiritual autopilot.6. Don't Be Impressed by the Supernatural if Your Life's a Mess. You can have visions, dreams, or talk about angels all day, but if your life looks like chaos, something's off. The fruit matters. Real encounters with God should produce real transformation. Don't settle for hype—go after what actually works.7. Truth Isn't Just a Concept—It's a Person.Darby drops a truth bomb here: transformation happens in layers, but the ultimate goal isn't just knowledge—it's relationship. Jesus is the capital T Truth, and the more you engage with Him, the freer and more aligned your life becomes.8. Ask God for Real—He'll Show Up.Forget arguing theology. If someone's skeptical, just dare them to ask God to reveal Himself. He's not hiding. Darby even “double dog dares” people to pray a one-liner—and guess what? People encounter God. Because He's real, and He loves the invitation.9. We've Got Something Better Than New Age: A Personal God.You can experiment with breathwork or study the laws of attraction, but the difference for believers is relationship. The Kingdom life isn't just metaphysical principles—it's grace, truth, and a God who walks with you. And that changes everything.10. Mind Renewal Is About Releasing, Not Striving. You're not trying to become something new—you're uncovering who you already are in Christ. Religion piles stuff on. Kingdom peels it off so your true identity can shine. You're not fighting for victory—you're living from it.LINK for DARBY:- Connect with Darby: https://www.darbyslaton.com/LINKS for BRALYNN:- Get Bralynn's Book!
