Hiya! I'm back, and today I'm chatting all about my pregnancy journey, and especially something that no one warned me about in the first trimester. I struggled with this overwhelming feeling of a dark cloud over my head, and feeling sad and low. But I wasn't unhappy that I was pregnant, I had depression. Plus, me and Jake have found our perfect baby name! After a few trial and errors though! Thanks Google. And, now that I'm in my third trimester I'm starting to get excited about what's to come like decorating the nursery, and learning how the F to burp a baby! Thanks for coming along for the ride! Until next month, Charlotte XNote: This episode does discuss topics surrounding depression during pregnancy, if this is triggering for you, please feel free to skip through the first part of the episode. Ask the internet, and you shall receive. I struggled with this episode. What to talk about…. Hmm…. then a news article came up.Google's AI retained a lawyer.Yep, you read that right. On this episode of the NerdBrand Podcast we're discussing how Google has succeeded in creating the terminator. According to Google, https://blog.google/technology/ai/lamda/We've always had a soft spot for language at Google. Early on, we set out to translate the web. More recently, we've invented machine learning techniques that help us better grasp the intent of Search queries. Over time, our advances in these and other areas have made it easier and easier to organize and access the heaps of information conveyed by the written and spoken word. But there's always room for improvement. Language is remarkably nuanced and adaptable. It can be literal or figurative, flowery or plain, inventive or informational. That versatility makes language one of humanity's greatest tools — and one of computer science's most difficult puzzles. LaMDA, our latest research breakthrough, adds pieces to one of the most tantalizing sections of that puzzle: conversation.”Well. Thanks Google, but your robot hired an attorney.

Brittany, the founder and CEO of ‘Mosaic the Label,' joins Podcast Therapy to talk about growing up as a mixed-race kid, how this affects the family and how it led to the creation of her lifestyle brand. I met Brittany through the internet. East Coast meets Midwest. Thanks Google. We talk about how female business owners, specifically, have to advocate for themselves, how we all have to hustle to make our business a success and how social media likes, follows, etc. is not necessarily the golden ticket that translates into sales. Would winning the lottery change our work ethic? Apparently not! State of education, parenting, the publishing world, and the dreaded “P” word, the pandemic, all topics we also talk about. Making French toast is extremely easy especially if you’re French. If you’re not French but just a cultural-appropriating monster who would like to take advantage of a long-established culinary history you had no hand in creating for your own selfish (and tasty) desires, then read on.1. Get Some ToastIt is extremely difficult – almost impossible – to make French toast without toast, which I can attest to after a failed attempt at making French tortillas.* Unfortunately, it’s hard to find toast anywhere unless you count frozen toast (yes it exists) which is an abomination and affront to food in general and is not advised. If you have no toast on hand or can’t find any, you will have to make your own toast, however, that is outside the scope of this article, so I’ll just assume you have some toast already.2. “French-ify” the ToastThe process of converting normal toast into French toast is called “French-ifying”. It was discovered in 1873 by French baker Jacques “Le Baker” Merlot when he accidentally dropped a toasted baguette (French for “baseball bat sized loaf of bread”) into a vat of hot cinnamon, sugar, wine, butter, wine, and possibly eggs I think. “Sacrebleu!” he exclaimed because that is the only French phrase I know. However, once he tasted the creation he then exclaimed, “Que c’est bon!” which means “How tasty!”**3. Enjoy Your French ToastAfter you have doused your toast in cinnamon, sugar, wine, butter, wine, and possibly eggs (e.g. “French-ified”) then the last step is to eat the French toast. There are several ways you can do this. For example, you might use a fork. To get the full “French effect” you can pair your French toast with a large charcuterie spread or an entire pack of unfiltered cigarettes.—*I would like to sincerely apologize for culturally appropriating not just one but TWO cultures. I will delete my Twitter account immediately.**Thanks Google!

Google decided to give the SEO community a wonderful early Christmas present this year and decided to hit us with a core algorithm update on Thursday 3rd December. Thanks Google and a very merry Christmas to you too! ;) Hannah and Sarah discuss what we know about the core update so far, discussing trends, what the SERPs are looking like and who the biggest winners and losers are. They also discuss what is being said within the community, including what SEOs and webmasters have experienced since the update and what SEO tools are noticing from monitoring the situation. If you feel like you may have been hit by the update, don’t fret, as Hannah and Sarah also give actionable advice and tips on what to do after Google has rolled out a core update. Of course there is a feature and this week Hannah and Sarah go head to head! Also, quickfire question rounds are usually saved for guests, however, this week Sarah decides to put Hannah in the hot seat. Site Maintenance Site Maintenance Site maintenance is an important part of any webmaster's duties and has to be taken seriously, but it is not usually an onerous task. However, in the last thirty days or so, two of the largest players on the Internet, Google and Amazon have decided to force everyone to make huge alterations to their web sites If you make any money from the Internet, the chances are that these changes will affect you. Google says that most people now access the Internet from mobile devices with small screens or will do soon, so they are going to give priority to websites which are 'small-screen friendly'. While it is perfectly feasible to have a menu of twelve or fifteen buttons taking you to different sections of the site, a mobile screen can't really accommodate more than two or three. Therefore, to make a large site mobile friendly, you would need to drill down through many, many more menu options. That is tedious and means the downloading of many more menus and so the use of much more bandwidth. I wouldn't be happy with that, but I suppose it must be easier than scrolling right and left and up and down all the time, but then why use a small screen for this type of work/pleasure? However, what bothers me is the site maintenance involved. If it is not your profession it will take a lot of thought and much more work. Why? Because a private company has decided that that is the way they want to see websites so that they can make more money on the public Internet. I have forty websites to redesign and maintain. Thanks Google, thanks a lot! Then Amazon stuck its oar in. They have been doing their own site maintenance and decided to rename two of the root directories that deal with books and their sales (I only sell books, it probably affects all the items on its website). There is no automatic fix for renaming all the links to products on their websites, but they will tell you where their software has found links that will need to be changed. There are about two thousand of them on 197 URL's on the forty websites. At ten minutes a link, the site maintenance to make me Amazon-friendly is going to cost me 20,000 minutes or 333 hours, which is a month at ten hours a day with no days off and the old links will expire on July 15th. Today is June 16th, so even if I start my enforced site maintenance right now, I will not finish in time. Who do these people think they are? However, it does make one thing very, very clear: they don't give a toss about the small entrepreneur. Google and Amazon are firmly on the side of big businesses like themselves who have entire departments to deal with their site maintenance. All the best, I'd better get on with my site maintenance, how about you? Owen Please visit my bookshop Podcast: Site Maintenance

In which our heroes have a question, can't find the answer, and so turn to Google for help as we discuss Google. We worry about people living in our cupboards, trash talk the far inferior search engines of Yahoo and Bing, and inevitably discuss Nan . Jackson Googles just about everything under the sun, Zoe reminisces about a barbie PlayStation 1 game, and Duscher just wishes everyone would play Slime Soccer. So jump online, politely ask Jeeves if he can choof off, and turn to the search engine everybody knows and loves, Google. Thanks Google, we love you.
