In today's episode, we welcome special guest and long-time friend of the show, Arco Esposito. We talk about how he got into pop culture, his love of Spider-Man, finding Mint Condition, Squadron Supreme, X-Men and more. Arco is also the host of his own podcast, “Movie Challenge Accepted.” You will find the link below. If you are a fan of our podcast, you will enjoy his as well. You can reach us at Secretoriginsmc@gmail.com and visit the Facebook group, The Secret Origins of Mint Condition. We are also on Instagram @secretoriginsmc. 00:00 James introduces the show and our special guest, Arco Esposito. We start by asking Arco what got him into pop culture and comics. This gets us talking about Star Wars, his love of Spider-Man, and Marvel Comics Secret Wars. 6:23 Chris asks Arco if reading Secret Wars #8 was a good entry point for him into comics or if he got into comics in spite of jumping into the middle of a huge storyline. This leads to a conversation about where Arco first got his comics, his first comic book store, and how he got into DC comics. 12:30 Chris asks Arco if his reasons for liking Marvel over DC are the same as they were when he first started collecting. Joe also asks Arco if he is more into the street level character than the larger scope superheroes, such as Iron Man or Thor. 16:54 James asks Arco about his origin story with Mint. As it turns out, Arco has not one, but two origin stories! One good and one...not so good. But he makes an apology for the not so nice origin! This opens up a conversation about Thanos Quest, Squadron Supreme, comic book collecting in general, and his love of the Ultimate Comics. 27:12 James asks if Arco was collecting any books other than the Ultimate Books. This begins a discussion about the X-Men books at the time, as well as what other books Arco was collecting. 32:58 Arco talks about whether Spider-Man and Daredevil should be Avengers. This takes us to a broader discussion about Civil War and Identity Crisis. 47:43 James asks Arco what he would recommend to a new comic book reader, as well as who is Arco's favorite character now. 53:53 We wrap up the show with our recommendations for the audience and Arco talks about his own podcast, “Movie Challenge Accepted”.

Comic books have given readers amazing characters and fantastic storylines. As time goes by and the decades pass, those characters and stories get retold, reimagined and sometimes retconned completely. It's times like these that fan boys and girls across the land need a few tough as nails private eyes to gather the facts and deliver the 4-1-1 without any B.S. This is MBFPL's MOST WANTED! During this episode, our searchlights are aimed at the Mad Titan himself, Thanos! New Japan Pro-Wrestling's junior heavyweight division showed the world this past weekend why it's lightyears ahead of anywhere else. Hiromu Takahashi and El Phantasmo both won their respective tournaments (Best of the Super Juniors 27 and Super J Cup) which will now see both of them clashing at WrestleKingdom 15. The Guerillas of Destiny toppled FinnJuice to finally win their first World Tag League tournament which puts them against The Dangerous Tekkers at WrestleKingdom as well. We also saw new feuds develop heading into January 4th big event.Meanwhile in the WWE, Vince McMahon apparently has a meltdown over the work of his big men. Fortunately, Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens continue their extremely well done feud on Smackdown LIVE, giving something of quality to the WWE's main roster.Kenny Omega shocked the world last week in how he won the AEW World Championship. This week, he and Don Callus continued their gloatfest on IMPACT Wrestling and AEW Dynamite, with the hint that Omega may be about to embark on his own "Thanos Quest" to obtain all the major championships in every organization sans WWE.This is the latest episode of the Rantin Review.

Welcome to Episode 23 of Bags and Boards! Today Ryan Sargeant (Editor and Producer) joins me for our 6th video on our series on The Infinity Gauntlet. This is a filler issue that came out while Jim Starlin was working on Thanos Quest! Spoiler, it wasn't great... but the fan letters made the issue for us. Marvel gives out the first "Marvel No Prize" since this MASSIVE Saga Started! Infinity Gauntlet is an event that takes place over a short 6 issues, but in order to get a full understanding of the entire saga there are a lot more titles to read. The event takes place over a staggering 51 issues filled with cross overs, side plots and characters. So much Thanos, Death, death, and Silver Surfer in this issue by the Legend Jim Starlin. On the 11th episode of Piecing It Together, we do something a little different... The biggest movie of all time, Avengers: Infinity War deserves a super sized episode, and that's why we've assembled not the usual one co-host, but FIVE co-hosts to help piece together this fantastic Marvel superhero movie. If you don't know what Avengers: Infinity War is, it's only the culmination of 10 years of Marvel movies (all those Iron Man and Thor and Captain America movies were leading towards this). We catch up with the Avengers as super-villain Thanos is about to find the final Infinity Stones that will give him the power to wipe out half of the universe's population. Only the Avengers can stop him... Or can they? Puzzle pieces include the films of Gary Marshall, Empire Strikes Back, Anime, Zack Snyder (you're welcome Chad) and the Thanos Quest comics. As always, SPOILER ALERT for Avengers: Infinity War. http://www.marvel.com/avengers Joining me for this super sized episode are previous guests Ryan Daugherty, Chad Clinton Freeman, David Quinones and Will Hines, as well as first-time guest Daniel Clark of the Comic Concierge Podcast, a show I was recently a guest on. Make sure to check out the Comic Concierge at http://www.geekcastradio.com/category/comic-concierge/ As of today my new album, A Different Kind Of Dream is available for pre-order on iTunes! It will be available on all major digital music services on Friday, May 18th. Make sure to check it out! The song at the end of the episode is a piece made for a comic book trailer called "Ch05en" a few years back. I thought it would be appropriate to include in this episode. Make sure to “Like” Piecing It Together on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/PiecingPod And “Follow” us on Twitter @PiecingPod Share the episode, comment and give us feedback! And of course, SUBSCRIBE!

Yes, this movie was destined to be a blockbuster from the start, but does Infinity War deliver on more than just a spectacle?
It's finally here, the wait is over, and the opening weekend was massive. It's the biggest Marvel film to date and Avengers: Infinity War is showing no signs of slowing down! James, Skid and Andy discuss the film and it's source material “Thanos Quest,” “The Infinity Gauntlet,” and “Thanos Rising” and how this film compares to “event comics” of the 80s and today. Our questions tackled are: Thanos has more humanity in the film than in the comics, does this work to the audiences favor? The film has many character moments but few character arcs. In that respect, is it similar to the source material or different? The film does a balancing act between a host of characters. Does it lose focus or does it stay on target? Who is the main character of this film? Who was the main character of the comic THE INFINITY GAUNTLET? Please leave us a review and subscribe to the podcast! We take suggestions at the email address: info@comicsexperience.com If you're interested in screenwriting courses that we offer, please visit: www.ScreenExperience.com for more information.

Avengers Infinity War is in theaters now and is already crushing records (and souls). While you wait for Avengers 4 to come out, now is a perfect time to catch up on Thanos in the comics to see just how accurate the movie is. But before we can get into Thanos, we first have to give a brief overview of Marvel Cosmic. We've touched on Marvel Cosmic a bit with Inhumans and when we talked Alex Summers. But Thanos throws us right in the middle of it. Jim Starlin really helped solidify the cosmic side of Marvel and so we give a condensed rundown of the Celestials, Eternals, Adam Warlock and more. Trust us, we will revisit all of this more in later episodes in more details. We then jump forward a bit to go through Jason Aaron's Thanos Rising which while it's more recent (2013), it gives a pretty great (and dark) view of Thanos' origins. Then its back to the early 90's and Thanos collecting the Infinity Stones (or rather, Soul gems as they were called) in Thanos Quest, the Infinity Gauntlet crossover and more. We end with the recent Thanos solo book that if you're not reading it...you're missing out on greatness. Reading List (As usually with Marvel, most of these are on Marvel Unlimited) First Appearance Iron Man #55 Captain Marvel #25 - 32 Avengers #125 Captain #33 - 34 Thanos Returns Strange Tales 178 - 181 Warlock 9 - 15 Marvel Team-up 55 Avengers Annual #7 Marvel Two-in-One Annual #2 Silver Surfer #34 - #38 Thanos Quest Thanos collecting the Soul Gems (what the Infinity Stones used to be called) Infinity Gauntlet #1 - 6 Infinity War Secret Defenders 11-14 Cosmic Powers The Thanos Imperative Thanos Rising (Jason Aaron) Infinity #1 - 6 #1 - First appearance of The Black Order New Avengers Vol 3 #23 Secret Wars Ultimates Volume 1 Volume 2 Thanos Volume 1 - Thanos Returns Volume 2 - The God Quarry #13 - 18 - Thanos Wins

With the biggest Marvel film to date opening this week, our team decided to tackle the most important elements going into Avengers: Infinity War! In part 1, James, Skid and Andy discuss "Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” its source material, and its possible role as it relates to Avengers: Infinity War! In this episode, they discuss the following questions: In Ed Brubaker's 2004-06 Captain America/Winter Soldier comic book story, the antagonist is Russian. In the 2014 CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER film the antagonist is American. Why do you think the change was made for the film and was it justified/effective? The “Winter Soldier” story arc changed the perception of who and what Bucky was for the audience and is very effective in doing so. Many of these changes were leveraged even in the first CAPTAIN AMERICA film to make his return as the Winter Soldier more plausible as a real threat. A major difference is that in the comics, 50 actual years had passed since Bucky died for the readers. In the films, just a few years had passed. Was that difference something that had to be handled differently in the adaptation process? Many people consider CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER the best film so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Do you agree or no, and if you do agree, why is it the best film of the MCU films? If you don't agree, what Marvel film do you consider the best and why? BONUS QUESTION: While this film doesn't directly deal with the Infinity Stones search, that is a constant background thread throughout the MCU. Compared to Thanos Quest #1-2 in which the Mad Titan obtains all six stones (gems, back then, and Soul Gems before that), how did the movie studio have to ch Please leave us a review and subscribe to the podcast! Before we recorded our Thanos episode a couple months back, we knew we were gonna eventually head back to outer space to cover the Infinity Guantlet. But we had so much fun reading Thanos Quest and were so impressed with the writing and art of Jim Starlin that we decided to head back even sooner! This time we took a look at Adam Warlock, a character that Vince and Kia knew absolutely NOTHING about, other than that he appeared in the background of Guardians of the Galaxy and was eventually gonna be pretty important. Luckily, Chris is here as usual to clarify exactly what the heck is going on. Join us as we read Strange Tales 178-181 and Warlock 9-11!
Thanos! He’s a big purple dude that keeps showing up in the Marvel movies… but why is everyone always freaking out about him? Since he’s gonna be the big bad in the next Avengers movie, we figured we’d get some backstory by reading the 1990 comics where he became a major player. And it all started with his resurrection in Silver Surver 34-38, followed by his hunt for the Infinity Gems in Thanos Quest 1-2. Writer Jim Starlin takes us into the world of Marvel’s cosmic galaxy that he helped form, and artist Ron Lim gives us some breath-taking psychedelic images. What a team!
In anticipation of Wednesday's All New X-men #1, Jermaine sat down with mutant maniacs Ryan Rubio and John Bethel, who long time listeners will recognize from the Avengers Assemble saga and Thanos Quest parts 1 and 2, and Acme Wave Projector rookie Matt Parrell to go over what has brought the students of Xavier to this point, for better or for worse!
