The Pitt Season 2 Episode 2 really said “oh, you wanted CHAOS?” because… wow. We are absolutely not okay after this one
The SuperHero Homies! Podcast is back with a packed episode covering the biggest moments in nerd and pop culture, including a full spoiler-filled review of the Stranger Things Season 5 series finale. We kick things off with a cold open hyping up the upcoming Homie Awards, our annual satirical award show where YOU vote on the best and worst superhero movies and TV shows of the year. We talk about why this year's Homie Awards might be our most chaotic yet and why listener votes truly matter. Vote in the Homie Awards here: https://qkt3aaknvzi.typeform.com/to/mOHDn5M0 From there, we break down the latest Avengers: Doomsday trailers, sharing our reactions, theories, and concerns about the future of the MCU, Doctor Doom, and the next era of Marvel storytelling. For our main discussion, we dive deep into the Stranger Things Season 5 finale, offering an honest, spoiler-heavy review of the episode, the season, and the series as a whole. We talk about what worked, including the emotional payoff for key characters, the visual effects for the Mind Flayer, and Vecna's performance, as well as what didn't fully land, like Eleven's fakeout ending, military plot holes, and lingering questions about the final battle. While the finale isn't perfect, we discuss why Stranger Things still sticks the landing emotionally and remains one of the most successful and impactful genre shows of its era. If you love TV and movie reviews, superhero discussions, comic book talk, MCU and DC debates, and pop culture breakdowns, this episode is for you. 2025 was the year politics became content, content became scandal, and scandal became a documentary you half watched while checking fantasy football scores. Celebrity news moved at warp speed, celebrity deaths made everyone suddenly nostalgic for people they had not thought about in years, and conspiracy theories somehow had better marketing than most movies. Entertainment tried to keep up: films sparked arguments about nudity that said more about the internet than the screen, Timothée Chalamet continued his mission to appear in everything except your group chat, and Physical 100 reminded us that other countries treat reality TV like the Olympics. Music trends changed every three weeks thanks to youth leadership on social platforms, while the Diddy documentary proved that longform exposés are now our version of prestige television. Sports stayed chaotic with wrestling news going full soap opera, the Michigan coach scandal turning message boards into law schools, and NFL predictions serving as both emotional gambling and personality tests. By the end of it all, technology had reshaped how we talk, argue, and socialize, the generational divide felt louder than ever, and 2025 closed out feeling less like a year and more like a very long recap setting us up for even stranger predictions in 2026.Holler at us -IG: https://www.instagram.com/gengpodcasts/Twitter: https://twitter.com/GenGpodcastMerch: https://generation-g.creator-spring.com/

Time to pull back the curtain on Tarantino's Hollywood fairy tale. In Part 2, The Popcorn Priest and JJ dive deep into the film's ending, character arcs, and the brilliant (and bonkers) way Tarantino reimagines 1969 Los Angeles. We unpack how Tarantino blends fact with fiction, why the pacing works (even when it shouldn't), and what makes this movie one of his most nostalgic, precise, and strangely heartfelt creations. Here's what's inside:

Predator Badlands should've been the ninth-installment cash-grab we all politely ignore… but somehow Dan Trachtenberg cooked. In this week's Thumb War, Rachel and Jason dive into the surprisingly emotional new Predator movie that mixes Klingon-like family drama, Alien-universe corporate stupidity, exploding caterpillars, razor grass, and the most adorable digital murder-gremlin since Grogu. We get into: Predator sibling beef Elle Fanning playing two androids (one sweet, one corporate demon) Found-family wolf-pack metaphors The baby callous creature who is basically Hazel in CGI form Weyland-Yutani being idiots… again And the controversial PG-13 “Disney-fication” of Predator This one is shockingly heartfelt, visually bonkers, and absolutely primed for a sequel. The whole gang is back together this week AND they've all watched Fantastic Four, so we revist that with a full spoiler review, the move on to Nonna's, Freaky Tales, Twisted Metal, and Project Runway. APNC has always been a show that loves the MCU. Heck, the first episode ever was about Captain Marvel (not to date ourselves...), so to have the opportunity to have a full spoiler discussion about the Fantastic Four was something we weren't going miss, even though we just discussed it last week. Getting Andrew's take from the more seasoned MCU angle and Lauren from the less indoctrinated side leads to some great discussions and generates some really solid discussion about what this movie means for super hero movies going forward. After that discussion, Lauren takes over and discusses the film Nonna's on Netflix. It stars Vince Vaugnn in a less over the top role than usual in a story that's based on a real restaurant. Rather than hiring traditional chefs, a restauranteur hires a handful of Italian grandma's (nonna's) to make the food. It's a heartwarming story about the initial struggles and ultimate success of a very niche restaurant. The review sounds lovely, as does the restaurant. If you're ever in Staten Island, give it (and the movie) a shot! Next up, Andrew takes us back in time the Bay Area with Freaky Tales. It's 4 intertwining takes, a la Pulp Fiction, that come together at the end. Much like every other film or TV show this year, it stars Pedro Pascal, but also Ben Mendelsohn, rapper Too $hort, and Jay Ellis. It's not kid friendly, so watch when you have the TV to yourself, but it's a solid watch and a great story. Slingshotting back to the future, Kevin discusses the return of the post apocalyptic series, Twisted Metal, on Peacock. This one stars Anthonay Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz as drivers in a world where you are never truly safe unless you're moving. Despite the world it's set in, this show is a ton of fun and it requires no knowledge of the video game it's based on to enjoy, so if over the top mayhen and witty dialogue (and Kevin's favorite Mackie performance) is your jam, give this one a shot for sure. Lauren closes the show with a quick review of the new season of Project Runway. It sees the return of Heidi as the host, but lacks some of the old Project Runway magic without Tim Gunn. It's only 2 episodes in, so far, and the challenges have been less than stellar, but it's a long haul, so there is definitely room for improvement as the season rolls on. As always, thank you for watching. If you haven't already, don't forget to Like & Subscribe. We love new viewers! Also, leave us comments and let is know how we are doing and what we can be doing better. Enjoy the episode and have a great week!
