Does Being a Jesus Follower Embarrass You? Are the Holy Spirit and the Gospel on Your Life's “Back Burner” to Be Warmed Up Only in a Life Crisis? MESSAGE SUMMARY: Living in the Holy Spirit sets us apart from our fellow human beings who are living without the Christ. Most of us had great passion in our lives as we approached the age to get our driver's license or the age of eighteen when we would be an “adult”. Why don't we have the same kind of passion about our spiritual life? Why don't we want to grow up and mature in the Lord? As Paul tells us, in Titus2:11-13, we must focus on living a Godly life while, also, living our life in the Holy Spirit: “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”. We have the capacity to live like no one else because we have presence of God in our lives through the person of the Holy Spirit and the gift of a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe. TODAY'S PRAYER: Abba Father, I admit that I am often afraid and embarrassed to openly tell you all that is going on inside me — even though I know you know it all anyway. Teach me what boldness in prayer looks like as I draw near your throne of grace. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 112). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Resentment. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Compassion. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). This bible study centers on Titus 2:1-8, exploring the roles and responsibilities of older and younger women in the church. The focus is on older women mentoring younger women, emphasizing the importance of "training" (various translations include encourage, instruct, admonish) younger women in sound doctrine and conduct. Key qualities for older women include reverence, avoidance of slander and drunkenness, and teaching what is good. The discussion delves into the meaning of "train," highlighting its connection to self-control and sound judgment. The importance of lifestyle as a reflection of faith and the necessity of good works as evidence of salvation are stressed. Pastor Anthony Uvenio addresses the biblical roles of wives and husbands, emphasizing mutual respect and submission within the context of a God-honoring marriage. The discussion acknowledges societal challenges to traditional gender roles and the impact of feminist ideologies on the church, while advocating for the importance of mentoring and the unique contributions of women in the home and family. Finally, the podcast highlights the importance of a godly home life as a witness to the gospel.#titus2 #womensministry #biblicalwomanhood #christianmarriage #mentorship #sounddoctrine #goodworks #selfcontrol #BiblicalSubmission #reformedtheology Podcast: www.ReformedRookie.comPodcast: https://anchor.fm/reformedrookieFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheReformedRookie Twitter: https://twitter.com/NYapologistSemper Reformanda!

What does it look like to live a life worthy of Jesus? In this message from our Mixed Bag series, we turn to Titus 2—a chapter written to guide people of all ages and stages of life. Whether you're young or old, new to faith or a lifelong believer, this passage shows that how we live matters. Our character and conduct should reflect the grace we've received in Christ. This sermon offers a balanced challenge: avoid falling into legalism, but don't drift into laziness either. Instead, discover God's purpose for your life, love and encourage others, practice purity, and live with integrity in a way that draws people toward Christ.

The book of Titus is an epistle (letter) written by Paul the apostle to Titus, a leader of a growing church movement in Crete. Titus has before him the task of appointing leaders and elders in several towns. But what is the qualification of a leader or elder? What doctrine should those leaders learn and apply? And how can a believer be ready for every good work? Titus is filled with so much that will help you as a follower of Jesus, whether you are a leader, a leader of leaders, or someone looking to live for God with intentionality in a new way. Join Jerry as he dives into this letter to Titus, and helps you see how you can apply this book in your life today. Despite what many claim, we don't “lose down here.” Christ is King, and we are commanded to make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28:18-20). His kingdom shall never cease, and it has been on the rise since the First Century. It is a ploy of our enemy to get us to think that we have no hope of victory in this season. God's Kingdom triumphs by HIs power through the gospel. In this sermon, Pastor Daniel provides a biblical strategy for advancing the Kingdom of God from generation to generation.

Discipleship That Reflects Sound Doctrine (Titus 2)In this episode, we explore Titus 2, where Paul outlines a vision for discipleship that reflects the beauty of sound doctrine. God's grace not only saves us—it shapes us. From older men and women to the younger generation and even into the workplace, this chapter shows how every stage of life is an opportunity to adorn the gospel through godliness. Whether you're teaching, mentoring, working, or waiting for Christ's return, you are called to reflect the transforming power of grace. We walk through three key sections:God's Design for Discipleship – Discipleship is gendered, generational, and gospel-shaped.Discipleship on Display in the Workplace – Godliness is evident even under pressure or injustice.Living in Light of God's Grace – Grace not only saves but sanctifies and prepares us for the return of Christ. This episode challenges each listener to ask: Am I reflecting the gospel in the way I live, serve, and disciple others?Discipleship varies by stage of life and gender, but it's always shaped by sound doctrine.Older Men & Women – Called to live reverent, self-controlled, and faith-filled lives that model maturity.Younger Women & Men – Encouraged to love their families, be pure and self-controlled, and live in a way that upholds the gospel's reputation. The goal: live in a way that silences critics and points others to Christ.Godly character should shine at work through submission, respect, honesty, and integrity. Our conduct at work should adorn the doctrine of our Savior—making the gospel attractive by our actions.God's grace has appeared to all people—saving and sanctifying us.Grace teaches us to say “no” to ungodliness and to wait in hope for Christ's return.Jesus redeemed us to be a people zealous for good works. This grace must be proclaimed boldly—with truth, love, and authority. How does your life reflect the gospel to those around you?Are you investing in others through discipleship? Is your daily living shaped by grace and pointing others to the Savior?“...so that in everything they may adorn the teaching of God our Savior.” – Titus 2:10b

Does biblical womanhood only apply to wives and moms? Not even close. In this episode, Shanda speaks directly to single women and unpacks what it means to live out biblical womanhood right now—before the wedding ring, the house, or the kids. She discusses why your identity is already rooted in Christ, not in your relationship status, and why the standards you set for dating and the kind of man you're drawn to matter more than you think. Shanda also walks through the three ways we learn life's lessons—by instruction, experience, or the hard way—and encourages you to pursue wisdom now so you don't pay the price later. You'll hear practical encouragement on how to prepare for marriage, how to find godly mentors, and why your life and purpose have already begun. Whether you're single, dating, or just feeling overlooked in this season—this one's for you.
