It's Wednesday, April 9th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Ugandan Muslim husband kills newly converted Christian wife A Muslim man in Uganda stabbed his wife to death after she converted to Christianity last month. Forty-one-year-old Nasiimu Mirembe was the mother of six children. She put her faith in Christ on March 21st after hearing the Gospel from a friend. On March 23rd, she attended a church service for the first time. Tragically, her husband attacked her on her way home from church. Mirembe's friend told Morning Star News, “Immediately he started slapping his wife. I started screaming and shouting for help. [He] then removed a long knife and started cutting her with it.” She died from her wounds the next day. Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.” Church attendance up in United Kingdom A new report from the Bible Society found that church attendance is growing in the United Kingdom. Twelve percent of adults in England and Wales attended church at least monthly last year, up from 8% in 2018. Young people, especially young men, are leading the growth. Sixteen percent of 18 to 24-year-olds attend church monthly, up from 4% in 2018. Church attendance by young men grew from 4% to 21% over the same time period. In Titus 2:1, 2, and 6, the Apostle Paul wrote, “Speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience. … Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded.” Supreme Court blocks reinstatement of fired federal workers for now In the United States, the Supreme Court on Tuesday blocked an order that the Trump administration rehire 16,000 federal employees who were let go in mass firings aimed at dramatically downsizing the federal government, reports The Associated Press. The justices acted in the administration's emergency appeal of a ruling by a federal judge in California ordering that the probationary employees at six federal agencies be reinstated while a lawsuit plays out because their firings didn't follow federal law. Appearing on NBC News, legal analyst Danny Cevallos spoke to the practical fallout of the Supreme Court decision on the 16,000 federal workers who were let go. CEVALLOS: “When it comes to these probationary workers, functionally, if they're not being reinstated for a certain period of time, they're going to go find other work. So, this is one of those situations where a stay in this case may eventually lead to them just going off and getting other jobs, and they may never return, even if they someday are entitled to return.” President Trump boosts coal production President Donald Trump signed an executive order yesterday to boost coal as an energy source. The order allows some older coal-fired power plants to stay online instead of being retired. This comes as data centers, artificial intelligence, and electric cars increase the demand for electricity in the U.S. The order also removes some restrictions on coal mining and encourages coal leasing on U.S. lands. Georgia passed Religious Freedom Restoration Act Last Friday, Georgia became the 30th state to enact a Religious Freedom Restoration Act. The act protects people from unjust government punishment for living out their faith. Greg Chafuen with Alliance Defending Freedom said, “Our laws should protect the freedom of every person to live and worship according to their faith. This law provides a sensible balancing test for courts to use when reviewing government policies that infringe upon the religious freedom rights of Georgians.” IRS ends investigation into church praying for school board candidate First Liberty Institute announced Monday that the Internal Revenue Service ended its investigation of a church in Florida recently. New Way Church in Palm Coast, Florida came under investigation after praying for a local school board candidate during a service last year. Jeremy Dys with First Liberty Institute said, “We are pleased that the IRS not only closed its investigation, but affirmed that this church's activities of praying for political candidates during its church service do not threaten its tax-exempt status.” Planned Parenthood closes 3 Michigan abortion mills Planned Parenthood of Michigan announced last Wednesday that it will close three locations in the state. Appearing on Fox 2 in Detroit, Michigan Planned Parenthood President Paula Greear was upset. GREEAR: “A lot of people have reached out to me, and they are angry and they are hurt. And you know what? We are too!” The abortion group blamed funding cuts by the Trump administration. GREEAR: “They are trying to do everything to defund Planned Parenthood.” Young pro-lifers have been praying outside one of the abortion mills for years. Kevin Weed, the headmaster for St. Michael High School in Petoskey, Michigan, told CatholicVote, “Many people are attributing the closing to the Trump administration's cutting of funds, which I'm sure makes a big difference. Our students have been praying there, and those prayers have been answered. However that came to be, we're just happy that this facility is closed.” Space flight around Earth's poles And finally, a cryptocurrency billionaire and his crew of three people completed the first space flight around the Earth's poles last week. Chun Wang is a Chinese-born investor of Malta, the island country located in the Mediterranean Sea between Sicily and North Africa. The bitcoin billionaire funded the mission aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule. The crew launched last Monday and returned Friday. Together, they accomplished the first crewed orbit over the north and south poles. Before the launch, Chun said, “My own journey has been shaped by lifelong curiosity and a fascination with pushing boundaries. As a kid, I used to stare at a blank white space at the bottom of a world map and wonder what's out there. … We hope our mission will further inspire later people to do the same.” Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, April 9th, in the year of our Lord 2025. In Titus 1, emphasizes the critical role of leadership in building a church with integrity and truth, highlighting the need for appointing leaders who are blameless and uphold sound doctrine to counter false teachings. This chapter underscores the importance of discipleship and maintaining a godly and pure lifestyle.
The kindness of God is central to the story of salvation. In Titus 3:3-8, Paul reminds us of the transformation that takes place through God's mercy and love. This passage invites us to examine our response to His kindness which is bespoke and powerful—whether in unbelief, or misunderstanding.
We start a new sermon series through the book of Titus. Our focus will be on what God says our mission/goal as a church should be. In Titus 1:1-4, we'll talk about our responsibility to know the truth, live it out, and trust in the hope of eternal life. As you prepare for the message, please read the passage and ask yourself, "How did I come to know God's truth?""How does knowing that truth make a difference in my life?"
During his college days at Florida State University, Charlie Ward was a two-sport student-athlete. In 1993, the young quarterback won the Heisman Trophy as the country’s best college American football player, and he also starred on the basketball team. During a pregame talk one day, his basketball coach used some foul language as he talked to his players. He noticed that Charlie “wasn’t comfortable,” and said, “Charlie, what’s up?” Ward said, “Coach, you know, Coach Bowden [the football coach] doesn’t use that kind of language, and he gets us to play awfully hard.” Charlie’s Christlike character allowed him to gently speak to his basketball coach about this issue. In fact, the coach told a reporter: “It’s almost as if there was an angel looking at you” when he talked to Charlie. A good reputation and a faithful witness for Christ are hard to maintain. But at the same time, believers in Jesus can grow to be more like Him as He helps and guides us. In Titus 2, younger men, and by extension all believers, are called to “be self-controlled” (v. 6) and to “show integrity, . . . and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned” (vv. 7-8). When we live that way in Christ’s strength, we’ll not only honor Him but also build a good reputation. Then as God provides the wisdom we need, people will have reason to hear what we say.

In Titus chapter 2, Paul lays out the qualities and characteristics of the biblical woman. He gives instruction on how they are to conduct themselves, as well as instruction relevant to their God given role. Although men and women have different roles in God's plan for the church and the family, they are equally as important, and it is essential for women to know how to navigate their calling in an ever changing culture.

In this episode, we dive into Paul's letter to Titus, where he tasks his ministry colleague with the challenging role of pastoring the churches on the island of Crete—an island originally settled by pirates! This was no easy mission for Titus, and it's not much easier for pastors today who face similarly rebellious and complex cultures. In Titus 1, Paul lays out a clear checklist for selecting godly leaders to shepherd these congregations. It's not just about finding warm bodies to fill a role—it's about appointing men of character and conviction. Paul lists qualifications for elders that focus on integrity, godly behavior, and a firm commitment to the truth of Scripture. These leaders must not only manage their own homes well but also stand strong against false teaching, which is rampant in Crete—and still is in many churches today. Titus's task mirrors the struggles of many modern pastors who are tasked with leading congregations in tough environments. Paul's advice to Titus is as relevant now as it was then: to lead with integrity, love the truth, and boldly confront falsehood. Whether you're in church leadership or simply want to understand the vital role pastors play in the spiritual health of the church, this episode provides timeless insight into the high calling and demands of pastoring. Listen in to discover how the same principles that guided Titus on that pirate-filled island can guide today's leaders in faithfully shepherding their flocks and confronting challenges head-on.

We began by exploring Titus 1, where we discussed the significance of sound doctrine. Fathers, and leaders in general, must lead by what they believe. Doctrine, or teaching, shapes our beliefs, which in turn influence our actions and the way we lead our families. A leader's understanding of biblical doctrine is crucial for guiding their household in faith and righteousness. We also touched on the Ten Commandments and how they were given not for us to achieve perfection but to recognize our need for God. This realization should drive us to depend on the Holy Spirit for guidance and strength. Fathers must wake up every day acknowledging their need for God's help to lead their families. In Titus 2, we discussed the importance of being sober-minded and showing integrity, reverence, and incorruptibility. Fathers must lead by example, demonstrating these qualities in their daily lives. We also delved into the concept of being bond servants to God, willingly submitting ourselves and our families to His authority out of love and trust. We then moved to Revelation 2, where we examined the dangers of false doctrines and the importance of staying true to God's teachings. The enemy seeks to entice and deceive, but we must stand firm in our faith and lead our families with sound doctrine. Finally, we emphasized the importance of preaching the Word within our homes. Fathers must be ready to teach, exhort, and rebuke with patience and sound teaching. We concluded with a call to prayer, encouraging fathers to continually seek God's guidance and strength in their role as leaders. ### Key Takeaways 1. **Lead by Belief**: Fathers must lead by what they believe, as their beliefs shape their actions and influence their families. Sound doctrine is essential for guiding our households in faith and righteousness. Understanding and teaching biblical doctrine helps us lead effectively and instill strong values in our children. [02:35] 2. **Dependence on God**: The Ten Commandments were given to show us our need for God, not to achieve perfection. Fathers should wake up every day acknowledging their need for God's help to lead their families. This dependence on the Holy Spirit is crucial for living out God's commandments and leading with integrity. [06:28] 3. **Sober-Minded Leadership**: Being sober-minded and showing integrity, reverence, and incorruptibility are vital qualities for fathers. These traits should be evident in our daily lives, setting a strong example for our children. Leading by example helps instill these values in our families and communities. [13:30] 4. **Guard Against False Doctrines**: The enemy seeks to entice and deceive through false doctrines. Fathers must stand firm in their faith and lead their families with sound doctrine. Understanding and teaching God's Word helps protect our families from the enemy's schemes and keeps us grounded in truth. [21:40] 5. **Preach the Word at Home**: Fathers must be ready to preach the Word within their homes, teaching, exhorting, and rebuking with patience and sound teaching. This responsibility is crucial for guiding our families in faith and ensuring they grow up with a strong foundation in God's Word.

Our culture is facing a crisis of masculinity. It's a crisis brought upon by cultural confusion and forces seeking to make Biblical manhood a negative term. But Paul gives Titus specific instructions for older and younger men about living sound doctrine in their everyday lives and how to live as a transformed community. In Titus 2:1-2 and verses 6-8, we see true manhood is reattained through God's transforming grace.
In Titus 1:5-9, the Apostle Paul gives Titus a list of qualifications to fill the role of elder in the churches in Crete. Allow these characteristics to challenge you to grow spiritually. In essence, these are qualities of any spiritually mature believer.

How do we live counter culturally? In Titus, Paul calls us to a life of grace in a culture where it was not valued. Paul Molyneux explores how and why we should show grace as God first showed grace to us.
In Acts 11, those who followed Jesus' teachings were first called Christians. Have you ever thought about why those who follow Jesus are called Christians? The radically transformed lives of those who fully embraced the teachings of Jesus caught the attention of the rest of the world. In Titus 2, we see Titus challenging believers to live in such a way that matches and exalts the word of God.
Though he didn’t normally carry money with him, Patrick sensed God was leading him to tuck a five-dollar bill in his pocket before leaving home. During the lunch hour at the school where he worked, he understood how God may have prepared him to meet an urgent need. In the midst of the lunchroom buzz, he heard these words: “Scotty (a child in need) needs $5 to put on his account so he can eat lunch for the rest of the week.” Imagine the emotions Patrick experienced as he gave his money to help Scotty! In Titus, Paul reminded believers in Jesus that they weren’t saved “because of righteous things [they] had done” (Titus 3:5), but they should “be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good” (v. 8; see v. 14). Life can be full, extremely busy, and hectic. Attending to our own well-being can be overwhelming. Yet, as believers in Jesus, we’re to be “good-works ready.” Rather than being overwhelmed by what we don’t have and can’t do, let’s think about what we do have and can do as God helps us. In doing so, we get to help others at the point of their needs, and God is honored. “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
In Titus 3:1-7, the apostle Paul is instructing Titus to remind these Christians of how they are to live lives pleasing to God in a pagan land. In doing so, he provides three reminders that are crucial for us as well as we seek to rightly engage the world around us. This sermon was preached at Legacy Reformed Baptist Church. When starting a new hobby there is often some technique that must be learned to become proficient. But what about the church? Have you considered, as a member of the body of Christ, what your roles and expectations might be, or what methods and techniques there are to promote the health of the church? In Titus 1:5-9 Paul shares with Titus some ways he must invest in the health of the church.
In Titus 3:3 we are told what we all were before God saved us. We “… were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.” In Titus 3:4-7 we are told how God saved us and who we are now that God has saved us. May these great gospel truths increase our joy and cause us to worship the God who saved us.

All this week we've been looking at the Apostle Paul's New Testament letters and some trustworthy statements that we must know, embrace, and communicate to our kids. These are life-giving truths that must be completely accepted and believed. In Titus three eight, Paul writes, “This is a trustworthy saying, that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good.” Doing good is not only a response to the grace and mercy God has showered on us through the gift of salvation. It is also something that affects Christ's followers in positive ways as we receive the blessing of pouring ourselves out in service to others. In addition, Paul wants us to know that good deeds attract others to the truth of the Gospel. Our witness becomes compelling to the watching world. Our kids need to know that to serve and glorify God by serving others leads to their spiritual growth and flourishing. Let's tell the truth to our kids, so that our kids will in turn live the truth!
In Titus 3, Paul talks about how the gospel re-shapes how we feel about people on the outside of Christianity. People who dislike us, who misrepresent us, or even persecute us. We cannot expect unbelievers to act like believers. As believers, we must be examples of Christ so others will see the gospel of grace in our lives.
In Titus chapter 2, Paul is like a coach trying to get his team to work together. He is giving instruction to the young and the old on how to follow the direction of the gospel in their everyday lives. Paul wants them to know and understand sound doctrine and apply it to every part of their lives.
Throughout scripture, God gives us several pictures to describe what the church is. Today we'll see that the church is pictured as God's family. In Titus 2, Paul shows us how the family of God should act.

COMING SOON Titus 2:13-14 #Nightlight #RTTBROS Titus 2:13-14 KJVS - 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. "Coming Soon" Life is full of instances where the concept of "coming soon" is used to build anticipation for an upcoming event. We hear "Coming Soon" about a concert or sporting event that is near at hand. In Titus 2:13-14 (KJV), we read "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." This verse reminds us that we should be looking forward to the second coming of Christ with great anticipation. The second coming of Christ is a topic that has been discussed for centuries. Many people believe that it will happen soon. I have a friend that says he is no longer looking for signs he is now listening for the trumpet. Regardless of when it happens, we should be prepared for it. We should be living our lives in such a way that we are ready to meet our Lord and Savior when He returns. As we wait for the second coming of Christ, we can take comfort in knowing that He has given Himself for us so that we might be redeemed from all iniquity. We are called to be a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Let us live our lives in such a way that we are always ready for His return. Those who are born again bear fruit in their lives. In Titus 3, Paul outlines how this is all a work of Christ in and through the believer, from start to finish.
In this episode of the Straight Truth Podcast, Dr. Josh Philpot and Dr. Richard Caldwell tackle some challenging Biblical texts. In Titus 1 and 1 Timothy 3, Paul outlines qualifications for elders, sparking questions around whether pastors should continue ministering if their children are unbelievers and the role parents play in their children's salvation. Referring to Titus 1-6, Dr. Caldwell explains that children need not be saved, but faithful, indicating a well-managed household. No parent is responsible for the regeneration of their child- God saves, using parents as means for fostering a believing generation. Proverbs 22-6 isn't a guarantee but a truism - good parenting doesn't equate to saved children, it's a matter of God's grace and mercy. Dr. Caldwell uses a farming analogy, describing parents as workers in God's field, striving to fulfill their responsibilities faithfully, leaving salvation to God's work. While a child's unruly behavior doesn't necessarily reflect poor parenting, it indicates the unfitness of the man for ministry roles. A well-managed home generally yields faithful children, under their parents' leadership, respecting family rules, and not in constant disobedience.
In Titus 3, Paul explains how our own need for God's mercy and grace should give us hearts and hands that are eager to give mercy and grace to those around us.
In Titus 2, the Bible commands older Christian women to teach younger women to be kind, pure, hospitable, and to submit and love their husbands and children. Sadly, it seems that today's church has lost that vision. On today's classic edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson sits down with author Betty Huizenga to discuss her heart for reaching the next generation of wives and mothers through her ministry, Apples of Gold. She shares how her program provides opportunities for experienced mothers to pass along helpful advice to younger women through mentorship, cooking, and Bible studies. In Ephesians 5:22, Paul wrote, “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.” He repeated this command in Colossians 3:18 when he said, “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.” In Titus 2:5, he told his ministerial protégé that he should teach younger women to be “obedient to their own husbands.”Some critics say these verses are proof that Paul was sexist, while others use the apostle's words as cover for abusive behavior. Dr. David K. Bernard explains why both responses are a misrepresentation of the principle Paul was advocating. If you enjoy this podcast, leave a rating and a review on iTunes or your preferred podcast platform.
