A woman is stabbed dozens of times in her own home and left for dead. With little to go on, Detective Aaron must follow every possible lead—a boot print, a knife, a curiously timed trip across state lines, and a web of forensic evidence. This case is packed with twists and turns, but in the end, one thing matters most: ensuring the suspects are brought to justice. Detective Aaron (Retired) started his law enforcement career as an Explorer in Alaska at 13 years old. He then spent 21 years as a Sworn police officer in Alaska and Oregon. During his career he was assigned to patrol, Field Training, he was a police Instructor, spent time assigned to a drug enforcement team and spent his final 11 years assigned to his agency's Major Crimes Team as a homicide and child abuse detective. Detective Aaron retired from Law Enforcement in 2023. For bonus episodes, behind-the-scenes shenanigans, join the SuperFam community at smalltowndicks.com/superfam
Send us a text! It used to be that went sent our boys into groups like the Boy Scouts of America to train for manhood. But as those organizations have drifted left, we lack male spaces for discipleship and formation for young men. At St. Brendan's Academy and Refuge Church, we're trying to forge a new path forward. Recently, pastor Ethan Senn and Tate Taylor took some of the young men from Refuge Church on a field training exercise in the high Uintas of Utah. During their time in the mountains, the boys learned land navigation, fire building, firearms handling, and various other survival skills. It's all part of the Titus 2 program, which aims to train boys in hard skills and mental fortitude in preparation for manhood. 2025 New Christendom Press Conference: https://www.newchristendompress.com/2025Sign up for the NCP Games:https://beregenerated.com/games/Fuel your training with Mt. We start out Season 5 of the True Blue Podcast talking with Constable Ari Knazan an 11 year veteran of VicPD. Ari was hired a little later in life compared to the average recruit but obviously that meant he brought a breadth of life experiences with him to the job. He has a couple of great stories behind his motivation for becoming a police officer. Victoria Police was the only department that he applied for and loved that he got hired in the city he lived and played in. Ari worked in Patrol for the first 7 years of his career, was a Domestic Violence investigator in support of Patrol before moving to the General Investigation Section (GIS). He's now back in Patrol and looks forward to some Field Training of rookie officers and some acting Patrol Sergeant duties. Ari's Martial Arts background allows him to be part of the Department's Use of Force training cadre, which he does as a secondary duty.Ari met Chuck Norris in Las Vegas when he was 9 years old, and he says that encounter became his motivation for getting into martial arts training. One of Ari's hobbies is podcasting; he and Chad Lyman run the “No Zoo Lions Podcast” (available on Spotify) where they focus on motivations for law enforcement officers to train hard and to understand the best ways to gain compliance. He also is a co-founder of the Invictus LEO organization with Jason Rebsch and they also use the podcast platform to better inform law enforcement. This past week I had the honor of presenting at the 2024 SEFTOA conference. Field training officers from around the country were in attendance.I sat down with Mike Schentrup from Advanced Police Concepts as we discussed each day in review. If we are going to change the culture of this profession it must start with those that are entering it and the first person they come in contact with to impact them is their FTO. The role the FTO plays is life defining for the newly hired officer. Getting this right can not be left to chance. The conference focused on how we do a better job of taking care of our people but just as important, how we do a better job of taking care of ourselves. As you listen to this episode, think back about the role your FTO played in your life and their influence in providing you a foundation to launch a career from. You have quota, a product, and how well you perform against the quota. The variables and leverage points are obviously who you hire because that's going to dictate a lot. But once you get them in, it's how quickly they can actually understand the customer's problems, the things that customers are going through, the pains they have, and how well you differently address those problems and become productive with the skills and execution.”[00:57:10] “I remember you and I spoke a lot before I took this role. I talked to Grant Wilson a lot. At one point, I was talking to Grant about the things that we were doing. I was explaining to save the data. I was explaining these different pieces. And he said, ‘You're not enabling, like you're not just enabling, you're transforming, you're doing sales transformation inside of the company.'”
