Some days, motherhood feels deeply meaningful. Other days, it feels like wiping counters, making lunches, repeating yourself for the hundredth time, and wondering if any of it really matters. If you’ve ever gone to bed thinking, “I’ll do better tomorrow,” this week’s conversation on The Love Offering Podcast is for you. I had the joy of talking with bestselling author and speaker Rhonda Stoppe about her new book, Moms of the Bible: Life-Changing Lessons from the Fearless, Flawed, and Faithful. Together, we talked honestly about mom guilt, comparison, prodigals, spiritual motherhood, God’s grace, and the sacred significance of everyday faithfulness. I especially loved how she reminded us that the women of Scripture were real women—fearless at times, flawed at times, but always deeply loved and used by God. Their stories remind us that God doesn’t require perfection from us as mothers. He simply asks for willing hearts surrendered to Him. In this episode, we discuss:• How God uses imperfect mothers• The danger of comparison and control• Why spiritual motherhood matters• What to do with regret and mom guilt• The quiet significance of ordinary faithfulness• How loving God first shapes the way we love our families Rhonda also shares beautiful encouragement for weary moms and reminds us that the greatest thing our children can witness is not perfection—but a mother who genuinely loves Jesus. Whether you’re parenting little ones, teenagers, adult children, or simply pouring into the next generation spiritually, I think this conversation will encourage your heart. What if the world measured motherhood, not by perfection or public acclaim, but by quiet courage, surrender, and faith? In this heartfelt Mother’s Day episode of Christian Parent Crazy World, Catherine invites celebrated author and mentor Rhonda Stoppe to lift the veil on the real stories of the moms of the Bible—fearless, flawed, faithful, and sometimes forgotten women whose lives still shape generations. Drawing from her acclaimed new book, Moms of the Bible: Life Changing Lessons from the Fearless, Flawed, and Faithful, Rhonda Stoppe brings wisdom honed by decades of ministry, parenting, and podcasting (Old Ladies Know Stuff). Together, Catherine and Rhonda Stoppe explore what it means to mother in a world obsessed with perfection, reminding listeners that God’s view of motherhood is radically different—and infinitely more freeing. What You’ll Discover in This Episode God Sees and Honors Moms—Even When No One Else DoesScripture overflows with stories of mothers just like you—women who wrestled, wept, waited, and worshiped as God unfolded His plans in unexpected ways. While culture often dismisses the daily work of mothering as mundane or menial, Catherine and Rhonda Stoppe reveal how the Bible places immense value on those unseen acts of love and faithfulness. From Mary’s Brave Surrender to Rebecca’s Mistakes Hear how Mary, the mother of Jesus, chose courageous “yes” in the face of misunderstanding and rejection, modeling trust in God’s unseen plans. Explore Rebecca’s story—a tale of good intentions gone awry as she tries to “help” God’s promises along, unleashing sibling rivalry and a generational legacy. Learn that God works through flawed, real women, not perfect ones, and that repentance and humility write a new story for us and our children. The Power and Danger of Partiality Rhonda Stoppe uncovers the lasting damage of favoritism in families, drawing from biblical narratives and honest reflections on her own upbringing. Listeners are encouraged to honestly assess their parenting, seek God’s agape love, and pursue forgiveness and restoration when favoritism has taken root. When You Feel like the Mom with No Name Sometimes, a mother’s extraordinary impact is never recognized by the world—or even, at times, by her own children. The story of David’s unnamed mother powerfully affirms the kingdom value of unseen, faithful work. “The influence of unnamed mothers has shaped nations, inspired leaders, nurtured artists and motivated ordinary children to accomplish extraordinary achievements.” – Rhonda Stoppe Real Talk: Healing from Deep Wounds In a moving post-interview segment, Rhonda Stoppe addresses the pain of those raised by abusive mothers through the biblical story of Herodias and her daughter, offering hope, the necessity of Christ-centered forgiveness, and the invitation to seek healing through biblical counseling. Why This Matters In a culture that honors mothers with a day, but often disenfranchises the work of motherhood, this episode re-centers the sacredness, complexity, and generational reach of a mother’s influence. Catherine and Rhonda Stoppe invite you to see your mothering through the eyes of God—full of purpose, dignity, and hope. About the Guest Rhonda Stoppe is a bestselling author, speaker, mom of four, and grandmother of fifteen. Known for her practical wisdom and biblical insight, Rhonda is host of the Old Ladies Know Stuff podcast and beloved mentor to moms and grandmothers across the nation. Her books, including Moms Raising Sons to Be Men and Real Life Romance, equip Christian families for generational impact. Reflect & Respond Which mom’s story resonated most with you—fearless Mary, flawed Rebecca, faithful Hannah, or a nameless mother who faithfully packed lunches and taught quietly in her home? What might change in your parenting if you saw yourself as called and seen by God, not defined by comparison or invisibility? Notable takeaway: “God doesn’t need perfection. He’s just looking for surrender. He works through the ordinary, the overlooked, and, yes, even the messy moments of motherhood to accomplish His extraordinary plans.” — Catherine Call to Action:This week, seek out a godly mentor—or encourage another mom who might feel forgotten. Your story matters. Your daily yes to God matters. How will you step boldly into your unique season of motherhood, trusting that God shapes generations through faithful, ordinary women? Being a mom means feeling like you're on top of the world at times. At other times there are challenges, struggles and even heartaches. In the end, the responsibilities and cares of a mother never cease. The circumstances of each mom are different and unique, but God's grace is available to all. So as an encouragement to moms, Crosstalk interviewed Rhonda Stoppe. Rhonda is a speaker and author of seven books. With 40 years of experience in helping women build no regrets lives, Rhonda has become a highly sought-after voice in the Christian living community. She's a popular homeschool conference speaker and the host of the award-winning podcast, Old Ladies Know Stuff. Rhonda's been happily married to her husband Steve for 44 years. She's a pastor's wife, mother of four and grandmother of 15. She appeared to discuss her newest book: Moms of the Bible: Life-changing Lessons from the Fearless, Flawed and Faithful. A critical point noted by Rhonda that is easy to forget is that moms have a calling from God in that they are the first teachers that he puts into our world. However, did moms in the Bible always get it right? Is there a path forward for women today who feel they are "blowing it" as a mother? Your answer to that is inside your Bible. Rhonda talks about it as she explores timeless life lessons from Bible moms of all types including Rahab, Naomi, Jochebed, Rebecca and more, revealing how their stories of failure, faith, and hope can help you fulfill your own calling with confidence.

Today I'm delighted to welcome back author, speaker, podcaster—Rhonda Stoppe to talk about her latest book, the just released: Moms of the Bible: Life-Changing Lessons from the Fearless, Flawed and Faithful Rhonda's new book is her favorite and she's offering one as a giveaway so be sure to leave a comment or email me at sue@welcomeheart.com Rhonda Stoppe, speaker and bestselling author of seven books with 40 years experience helping women build no regrets lives. We talk about that on my podcast in Ep 46 here. Find and follow Rhonda at NoRegretsWoman.com.  Some gems from our conversation: The Lord had to break me before he could use me. Four years of post partum and hormonal imbalance took me to the end of myself. I needed help and I got it. People want to hear from people who have regrets so that they can hear how God redeemed their mistakes. The first step in forgiving our own flawed parent is to admit they were flawed.  Hatred keeps us stuck so we begin by handing over our anger and resentment to God and let him deal with it. When our kids see us doing good to others, they will understand the Gospel. I felt so lonely as a mom and God led me to godly moms who led me to a deeper study of the Word. With God's help, you can become the mom that he's calling you to be.  The Gospel transformed my life; I want my children and grandchildren to see me sharing that message of hope to others.     ~~~   Do you prefer watching while listening?  We are on YouTube:     Welcome Heart: Knowing & Showing the Heart of God

Raising Godly Boys Minute

Is your son “too cool” for mom's kisses? Here's what you can do. Rhonda Stoppe was sitting in a hospital room with her six year old son Brandon. He was getting a sleep study after having a horrible seizure. Brandon was asleep, and Rhonda walked over and kissed him on the forehead. The technician told Rhonda to go look at the screen. Rhonda was astonished to see that, even though Brandon was asleep, his brain activity actually showed that he knew his mom kissed him. So if your son rolls his eyes when you try to kiss him, kiss him when he's sleeping. And– more than that– remember that, even if it doesn't seem like it,  the little things you do each day to show your son love do make a difference. Marriage is one of the greatest blessings — and one of the greatest refining processes — we can experience. But if we're honest, many of us carry regrets when it comes to how we've treated our spouse, how we've handled conflict, or the words we've spoken in frustration. We don't always recognize how often harshness sneaks into our marriage, chipping away at intimacy, connection, and joy. But here's the good news: God's love can heal, restore, and transform even the most regret-filled moments in your relationship. In a recent conversation with author and speaker Rhonda Stoppe, we unpacked the profound truth of living with "no regrets" in marriage — and the practical steps to get there. You Can Break Free From the Regrets Holding You Back Let's be honest — we've all made mistakes in marriage, in parenting, in life. Those regrets? They can paralyze us. Rhonda reminded us that regret is often a weapon the enemy uses to keep us from becoming the women God designed us to be. But here's the truth — God's love washes those regrets away. Philippians tells us to “forget what lies behind and strain toward what lies ahead.” Even Paul had to lay his past down — his role in Stephen's death, his persecution of believers — yet God still used him powerfully. The same is true for you. Whether your regrets stem from the way you've treated your spouse, parenting mistakes, or deep wounds from your own upbringing, you are not disqualified from God's call on your life. The Destructive Power of Harshness in Marriage Rhonda unpacked something so practical yet so convicting: how often our inner thoughts turn harsh long before words ever leave our mouth. Ever had the entire argument with your husband in your head before he even walked through the door? I've been there! You play out the "you always" or "you never" narrative and boom — your harsh words fly the second he steps inside. But as Rhonda beautifully reminded us, love "believes all things" (1 Corinthians 13). That means believing the best about our spouse — assuming good intentions — not assigning negative motives. Harshness can destroy intimacy faster than almost anything else. It pushes our husband away emotionally. It makes our home a place he — and even our children — dread coming back to. The Courage to Repent: Humility Over Pride This hit me hard. Rhonda shared how pride keeps so many people from growth. It's painful to look back and realize we've done things wrong for so long. But friend, God already knows it all — and still loves you. When we confess, repent, and humble ourselves before Him, He transforms us from the inside out. David's story is such an example. After his sin with Bathsheba, he didn't make excuses. He repented with a broken, contrite heart — and God restored him. If harshness, selfishness, or regret has gripped your heart, your story isn't over. God offers freedom, but it starts with humility. Are You a Harsh Spouse? How to Recognize & Change Harshness is sneaky. Many of us don't even recognize when it's become part of our communication. Rhonda described it as trying to control or hurt with your words to get your way — whether out of fear, frustration, or habit. Here are some signs of harshness in marriage: You regularly raise your voice or speak with a biting tone. Your family feels like they have to walk on eggshells around you. You replay your spouse's flaws in your mind more than their strengths. You assume negative motives for your spouse's actions. If that's you — take heart! You can change. It starts with repentance, inviting God's Spirit to wash over you, and intentionally building new habits. Building a No-Regrets Marriage: Practical Next Steps Rhonda didn't just leave us with conviction — she gave such hopeful steps forward: Get in the Word Daily God's Word renews your mind. Listen to scripture, write it out, feast on His promises like daily bread. Find Godly Community You need women around you who love Jesus and will speak truth in love — especially older, wise women. (#OldLadiesKnowStuff — I love that!) Choose to Believe the Best Make it a practice to assume good about your spouse. Remember how you did that when you were dating? Let's bring that mindset back! Apologize & Repair If your harshness has caused damage — humbly ask for forgiveness. Your vulnerability can open doors for healing, even if it takes time. Cling to God's Love First Your happiness isn't dependent on your husband's actions — it's rooted in how deeply you believe God's love for you. The Legacy You Build Starts Today I adored Rhonda's reminder that the home we build today — with love, forgiveness, humility — shapes our children's future marriages and their walk with God. You don't want to look back with regret because of harshness or pride. But even if that's part of your story, God's grace offers a reset, starting today. We are rooting for you! May God's kind heart move your own heart to kindness today. God bless you! With love, The Delight Your Marriage Team PS - If you'd like to check out more of Rhonda's resources (She's great, isn't she?!), podcast, and books, please visit her website: https://www.rhondastoppe.com/ PPS - If the thought of being 'the harsh spouse' made you tense up in defense ("That isn't me! Besides, I wouldn't be harsh if x, y, z...") or made you tear up knowing that it's true, we invite you to a book a free Clarity Call. Kindness, patience, gentleness, and love CAN be the first response. Your marriage does not have to be filled with criticism and harshness. Your home can be light and joyful. Let us help you. We'd love to chat: delightyourmarriage.com/cc PPPS - Here is a quote from a recent graduate: "Although on the surface, I would persuade myself I was ok, and that I was doing a good job as a husband, I knew deep down that something was wrong. My wife, though kindly and friendly (she is a lovely soul, who genuinely looks after my best interests), seemed apathetic to me at times, or unnecessarily critical...Completely unintentionally I had made my wife feel ignored, not attended to, and taken for granted… Communication was generally businesslike rather than affectionate. …As the program has gone on, huge strides have been made in our marriage. We now spend quality time together most meal times, we've started going out on dates again, we are much more playful than before and we enjoy being with each other. Most importantly, my wife has relaxed, she's begun to trust me, and her true bubbly self is coming out into the open."

How to Find Hope When Postpartum Depression and Hormonal Imbalance Bring Shame

Episode Summary: In this episode of Your Hope-Filled Perspective, Rhonda Stoppe shares her Sacred Scar Story of finding hope in the midst of postpartum depression and hormonal imbalance. What began as a season of silent suffering—marked by deep shame, emotional exhaustion, and the sense that no one understood—eventually led her to the help she desperately needed. Now, Rhonda offers encouragement and truth to women facing similar struggles, reminding them they’re not alone and that healing begins when we bring our pain into the light. Quotables from the episode: Living in that one-bedroom house, without electricity, with three children I was so overwhelmed. It wasn’t depression exactly, but I was completely overwhelmed. I was lying in my kids’ bunkbed with the door closing, weeping, when my husband came home and found me like that. He asked what was wrong with me, and I didn’t know. It was just too hard. It was a very dark season for me. I didn’t know that it was post-partum depression—I just knew I was frail, and I was fragile. Slowly, that post-partum turned into PMS/PMD. I remember not being the mom I wanted to be. Two weeks out of the month I wasn’t myself, and then two weeks out of the month I was myself. We lived behind a locked gate on a ranch, so I could hide. So whenever I wasn’t myself, and I couldn’t live my life “out there,” I just stayed home within the locked gate. Imagine if you’re a werewolf, and imagine if every full moon, you were going to turn into a werewolf and you couldn’t stop it, you couldn’t stop that werewolf from taking over your body, and the only hope you had was if someone would lock you in a cage until the full moon passed so you didn’t eat your young. That is what my experience was like with PMS. Before I experienced it, I had said to my mom and to my sister who struggled with it, “Oh come on, you’re just using that as an excuse to hurt people with your words.” Now, I knew enough to not hurt people with my words. Instead, I would pull back. During those times the only fruit of the spirit that I seemed to have was self-control, and I could keep hurtful words from coming out of my mouth that I couldn’t take back. I told my husband that the best way he could help me was to let me pull away in my bedroom, while he played with the kids, and let me just get through it. I would be in my room with my Bible open in my lap, reading, praying and asking God to help me. I felt so ashamed because I knew the Lord and I had the Holy Spirit in me. What happens with a hormonal imbalance is a real medical condition that occurs and can play itself out in a way that you can be very sinful in how you let yourself respond to it. I felt shame, I felt alone, I felt lonely, I felt like no one else was going through what I was going through. I think it’s silent suffering that we often go through as Christian women because it feels so shameful when we have the Holy Spirit but we don’t know why we cannot get a handle on this. What makes it so hard is that we are so ashamed about it, so we don’t want to talk about it because we don’t know anyone else who is going through it so we think we are alone, so then the message we hear is “what’s wrong with ME?” That just brings on more guilt, shame, remorse, regret, fear, and isolation. The isolation is about the worse thing we can do. We need to talk about it so that people know they’re not alone. The enemy convinced me I was all alone, nobody understands, and I was going to have to figure this all out on my own. I ultimately found help when I went to an endocrinologist who specialized in hormonal disorders. She gave me medication that balanced out my hormonal levels throughout the month. My sacred scars came out of this experience because now I can comfort others with what has comforted me. Whenever I share my story, women are desperate to talk to me because they feel so alone and don’t think anyone can understand the struggle, and for some, it’s ruining their marriages. The whole essence of the book Sacred Scars is that God didn’t cause our pain and suffering, but He will use it for good. Even now, my husband, Steve, who is a pastor, can help other men whose wives are going through it, because Steve went through it with me and can understand. Initially, in my pride, I didn’t want others to know about my frailty, but if God can use my frailty to help someone else, who am I to not let Him use my sacred scars to help someone else who’s desperate to know they aren’t alone. Don’t try to find someone to blame for how you’re feeling right now. Recognize what is going on in your body. It’s no one’s fault; you don’t have to find someone to blame for why you’re sad or why you’re mad or why you’re triggered. It’s a hormonal fluctuation and you need to decide how to take care of you and not assign blame or fault for why you feel this way. There is hope and there is help. Find a medical professional who specializes in hormonal imbalances. Don’t give up. Find someone you can trust who you can talk to about it. Isolating yourself makes it worse. Don’t give up and don’t suffer silently. Satan keeps our secrets and makes us feel shame, so when we share it, it disarms his hold on us. Find a safe person to share this with. You need to be careful who you share this with because some people haven’t earned your trust or the right to hear those intimate personal details. It's Wednesday, July 12th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Finish Christian politician fights bogus “hate crimes” charges again Finland's former Minister of the Interior is facing court proceedings all over again for her Christian beliefs. In 2019, Päivi Räsänen shared her Biblical views on marriage and sexuality. In response, officials charged her with hate crimes. Last year, a court acquitted Räsänen, but now she has to defend herself again after the government appealed the ruling. Writing about her ordeal in The Critic, Räsänen warned on Monday, “It's not just Finland that has reinvigorated the witch-hunts against those who hold different views to the approved state orthodoxy. Across the West, ‘hate speech' laws are cropping up time and again.” Matthew 5:11-12 says, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven.” Sweden gets greenlight to join NATO Speaking of Nordic countries, Sweden got approval from Turkey's President to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO on Monday. As a NATO member, Turkey's approval was critical for Sweden to enter the military alliance. Until now, Turkey had opposed Sweden's entrance. Sweden, along with Finland, pursued NATO membership last year after Russia invaded Ukraine. Finland officially joined in April. And, with Turkey's approval, Sweden is set to be the 32nd member nation. Gallup poll: Big business and Congress least trustworthy Gallup released a new poll on Americans' faith in major societal institutions. Only small business and the military garnered public confidence from a majority of U.S. adults. Big business and Congress were the least likely to have public confidence.  Only 32% of respondents said they trust the church or organized religion, down from 37% in 2021. Overall, an average of 26% of Americans have confidence in major U.S. institutions, down from 48% in 1979.  Tennessee's anti-transgender law A Tennessee law that protects children from transgender drugs and surgeries went into effect on Saturday. A U.S. appeals court struck down a preliminary injunction on the law that blocked its enforcement. Jonathan Skrmetti, Tennessee's Attorney General, said, “The case is far from over, but this is a big win. The court of appeals lifted the injunction, meaning the law can be fully enforced, and recognized that Tennessee is likely to win the constitutional argument and the case.” America destroys last chemical weapons The U.S. destroyed its last chemical weapons last Friday at the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond, Kentucky.  Since the 1940s, the facility housed rockets filled with a deadly toxin, known as GB nerve agent. At its height, during the Cold War, the stockpile weighed in at 30,000 tons.   Dr. William LaPlante with the Defense Department said, “This is the first time an international body has verified destruction of an entire category of declared weapons of mass destruction.” Psalm 46:9-10 says, “[The Lord] makes wars cease to the end of the Earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the Earth!”  Worldview listeners weigh in from Kansas, Montana, & South Africa Worldview listeners continue to email me about why they like the newscast at Adam@TheWorldview.com.  (Remember to include your whole name, city and state, and your country if outside America.) Caleb Hayden in Wichita, Kansas wrote, “Adam, I've been enjoying the daily news review, especially the focus on persecuted Christians abroad. Keep up the great work!” Jodi Icopini in Billings, Montana wrote, “I greatly appreciate The Worldview. In recent months, I gave up mostly all of my mainstream social media. That had been my primary source of news. Being able to listen to The Worldview each day keeps me plugged in enough so I know what's happening in the world, but without the reliance on social media which had become a huge burden for me. This fall, I plan to start each of our homeschool days listening to The Worldview with our two teenagers who remain in our homeschool. We are blessed to have such a great resource. Thank you for all that you do.” And Belinda and Andre DuRand in Cape Town, South Africa wrote, “Dear Adam, We have been listening to your newscast for a few months now. We really like feeling in touch with other Christians out there in the big wide world, and knowing a little of what other Christians are experiencing. Thank you.  In addition, we loved your interviews with Rhonda Stoppe, author of Moms Raising Sons to be Men. We don't have sons, but we were so inspired that we have shared the podcasts with ALL our friends and family who have sons. Wishing you all the best in your work for Christ.” 6 Worldview listeners gave $540 Recently, 6 Worldview listeners gave donations toward our $80,000 goal by Monday, July 31st to keep this unique Christian newscast on the air.  Unfortunately, it's the fewest number of donors since we kicked off our month-long fundraiser on July 4th. We thank God for Hershel in Bellevue, Idaho who gave $15 and Paul in Brush, Colorado who gave $25. And we're grateful for the generosity of Joseph in Burnet, Texas, Richard in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Marty in Winchester, Oregon – each of whom gave $100 as well as Ted in Rockaway, New Jersey who gave $200. Those 6 donations add up to $540. Ready for our new grand total? Drum roll please. (Drum roll sound effect) $12,778.88. (Crowd cheering sound effect) In order to hit our $40,000 immediate goal by this Friday, July 14, we still need to raise $27,221.12.  I wonder if at least 10 new folks will step up to the plate today? I'm looking for 10 Worldview listeners to pledge $100/month for 12 months. Then, we would need 13 to pledge $50/month for 12 months.  And another 26 listeners to pledge $25/month for 12 months.  Just go to TheWorldview.com and click on “Give” at the top right to give what the Lord is prompting you to donate to keep this weekday newscast on the air.  Make sure to select the “Recurring” tab if that's your wish. It's Wednesday, June 28th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Indian pastor: “We feel like strangers in our own land.” The U.K.'s Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief has shared a report on Christian persecution in India. The report looks at recent violence in India's Manipur State. The violence had “a clear religious dimension” as radical Hindus destroyed hundreds of churches and Christian villages.  66,000 people have been displaced, many of whom are Christians. A local pastor shared, “Our churches are being burned down, and we have not been able to gather together for worship or prayer since May 3rd, 2023. We feel like strangers in our own land, and we are, in effect, being required to choose between our faith or our land.” Global Christian Relief has opened two emergency relief centers in a nearby Indian state, offering food, shelter, clothing, and medicine. For $70, you can help one Indian brother or sister in Christ. German pro-life victory A top court in Germany delivered a victory for pro-lifers last week.  The Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig ruled that banning peaceful prayer vigils outside abortion mills violates constitutional rights to freedom of assembly.  Alliance Defending Freedom represented a German-based 40 Days for Life chapter in the case. Germany's Federal Minister for Family Affairs has been pushing for censorship zones around abortion mills. Pavica Vojnović with 40 Days for Life said, “I am grateful that we can continue our prayer vigils. Every human life is precious and deserves protection.” Proverbs 24:11 says, “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.” Update on Timotheos Foundation Malawi story Yesterday, The Worldview reported on a law in Malawi, Africa that bans homosexual relations. The law is being challenged by a missionary named Jan Willem Akstar. He was charged with homosexual behavior in 2020 while working with the Timotheos Foundation.  As an update to the story, the Timotheos Foundation let Akstar go as soon as they heard of the allegations against him. And he is no longer connected to the Timotheos Foundation Malawi. Disney has lost $900 million on last 8 films Valliant Renegade, a box office analyst, reports Disney has lost nearly $900 million on its last eight studio releases. The releases include Lightyear, Thor: Love and Thunder, Strange World, The Little Mermaid, and Elemental. Many of the films contained homosexual or transgender elements.  Altogether, the latest releases cost the entertainment giant $2.75 billion, while only bringing in $1.86 billion. This year, Disney has laid off about 7,000 employees as it tries to cut costs. Your son's purity Today, as I guest host Generations Radio, I chat for a third and final time with Rhonda Stoppe, author of Moms Raising Sons to Be Men. She offers Biblical insight for moms on how to navigate the turbulent waters of adolescence. We tackle three helpful chapters entitled: Impart the Vision: The Man He Will Become Tools for Autonomy: Equipped for Independence Even If You Don't Know What to Say: How to Talk to Your Son about Sex and Purity. STOPPE: “When you enter into a sexual relationship with anyone that's not your spouse, it quenches the Spirit in your heart and your mind and your life. And now you're no longer led by the Spirit. “Now, you marry someone because you've just been having sex with them and you figure that it's the next thing to do. But you don't know if that's really what God would have for you. “Because if you're a believer, you are sinning against God. You're quenching the leading, the guidance of the very One who can lead you into a relationship of lifelong love with a spouse that can love you with Christ's love. But once you start having sex, now, your best bet is your best bet. And so talking that through with our kids, instead of just saying because it's wrong, and God said, ‘No!' Like, okay, why?  God's a good Father, and this is what He has for you.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 asks, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, Who is in you, Whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” To hear my entire 41-minute interview, go to Generations.org/radio. U.S. church attendance down since COVID And finally, Gallup reports U.S. church attendance is showing a small but noticeable decline since the COVID-19 pandemic. For decades, Gallup has asked Americans if they have attended religious services in the last seven days. The percentage who said “yes” stood at an all-time high of 49% in the 1950s. That number decreased to 40% by the 1970s and plateaued until the mid 2000s. Since then, attendance has dropped significantly.  Only 34% of U.S. adults attended services during the years leading up to the pandemic. And now, it's down to 31%! Since 2020, Protestant attendance dropped from 44% to 40%, and Catholic attendance dropped from 37% o 30%.  In Romans 11:4-5, Paul asked, “But what does the divine response say to him? ‘I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.' Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Wednesday, June 28th in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Tuesday, June 27th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Turkey's crackdown on foreign missionaries The nation of Turkey is cracking down on foreign missionaries. The International Society for Human Rights has identified a disproportionate number of foreign expulsions. In a recent report, the group revealed, “There is no common ground among these expelled persons, except that they are all Protestant Christians, who are active in church life and/or active in evangelism.”  India's Prime Minister claims he opposes religious persecution Last Thursday, India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, responded to a question from the Wall Street Journal on human rights abuses in his country. REPORTER: “What steps are you and your government willing to take to improve the rights of Muslims and other minorities in your country and to uphold free speech?” During a rare give-and-take with reporters while he was in Washington, D.C., Modi said there is “no space for discrimination.  … In India's democratic values, there is absolutely no discrimination on the basis of caste or creed.” This despite the fact that religious persecution has increased four-fold since Modi took office in 2014. In related news, back in May, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom raised concerns about persecution in India. It said that religious freedom conditions there “continued to worsen” in the last year and recommended that the U.S. designate India as a Country of Particular Concern for engaging in “systematic, ongoing, and egregious violations of religious freedom.” Christian missionary charged with 9 counts of sodomy at orphanage In other international news, the law banning same-sex relations in Malawi, Africa is being reconsidered by the High Court. This time, a Reformed male missionary in Malawi named Jan Willem Akstar has challenged the nation's Penal Code that “criminalizes carnal knowledge against the order of nature” as unconstitutional. In 2020, the missionary was charged with nine counts of homosexual activity with students involved with his ministry, the Timotheos Foundation.  While the High Court of Malawi is considering the petition to legalize same-sex relations, the Catholic Church has issued a statement opposing the motion.  The church declared, “Homosexuality is against the Scripture and the teachings of the Catholic Church and it is about acts against the order of nature, therefore, should not be promoted in any way. … It is our conviction that these acts should not be allowed in a country touting to be God-fearing.” Let us take note of Revelation 22:14. “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the Tree of Life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.” Street preacher in Britain continually harassed by the police Street preacher Ryan Schiavo was arrested again for preaching in Canterbury, England on June 10th of this year — this time preaching out of Romans 1:18-32.  He is no stranger to this sort of treatment however. The English police are especially problematic for street preachers these days, marking their police cars with the moniker “Police with Pride.”   Schiavo told The Christian Post that the police have stopped him from preaching 25 times in the last two years in public places in England. No charges are ever filed.  According to the evangelist, the purpose is only to stop the preaching. And the situation has worsened over the last few years.  Abortions up 14% in England and Wales In other United Kingdom news, regrettably, abortion numbers are on the increase in England and Wales.  Official numbers reveal that abortions in 2022 increased by 14% over the previous year. The U.K. Department of Health and Social Care records an average of 20,000 abortions per month. Biden touts contraception as “fundamental freedom” President Joe Biden issued an executive order over the weekend to expand access to contraception. He called this access a “fundamental freedom,” and instructed the executive branch of the U.S. government to “ensure coverage of comprehensive contraceptive care, including all contraceptives approved, granted, or cleared by the Food and Drug Administration, without cost sharing for enrollees, participants, and beneficiaries.” Top 3 pro-abortion groups endorse Biden As of Friday, the leading pro-abortion groups -- Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and Emily's List -- have endorsed Biden's 2024 presidential election campaign, reports U.S. News & World Report.  Lessons from Salome, mother of James and John If you're a mother of a son, check out my second conversation with Rhonda Stoppe, author of Moms Raising Sons to Be Men as I guest host Generations Radio today. Listen to her describe the trap that Salome, the mother of James and John, two of Christ's twelve disciples, fell into. STOPPE: “She saw an opportunity for her boys and she pulled Jesus aside and she asked, ‘Hey, when you become king, can you sit my boys on your left hand and your right hand?'  Jesus said, ‘You don't even know the cup that I'm about to drink.'” Stoppe offered today's Christian mothers some counsel that she gleaned from Salome's life in my 35-minute conversation. STOPPE: “Don't attempt to control circumstances. There's a section of Moms Raising Sons [to Be Men] called, ‘Control freaks raise freaks.' Don't manipulate others to gain favor. Wait on the Lord and teach your son to pursue Jesus Christ. Avoids schemes to achieve an outcome that's favorable for them. Guard yourself from pursuing the prize of personal advancement by keeping your eyes on the prize Jesus Christ. And remind your son that serving Christ well is the greatest motivation in life.” To hear lessons from Rebekah and Mary's life as well, go to Generations.org/radio. Scientists surprised by intelligent cave writings post-flood And finally, scientists were amazed to discover writings carved into cave walls, presumably contributed by the Neanderthals, reports ABC News. These writings, found on the La Roche-Cotard cave in France, are described as “deliberate, organized, and intentional.” They are an indication that these primitive human beings, existing sometime after the worldwide flood, were intelligent and thoughtful. Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Tuesday, June 27th in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.
