This week I am joined by author and speaker Tomás Prower, to discuss his two books whose topics cover LGBTQ spirituality and Death across the global and historically. Tomás wrote both of his books in an anthropological style to carve out space for underrepresented groups who see themselves reflected in our rich human history. We discuss the many ways our queer community members have been visible in history, how they affected our history and how the embraces their own mysticism in spirituality. Looking at this book that deals with death, Tomás invites the reader to get comfortable with the uncomfortable by looking at the rituals of death throughout our civilization and examine the lore of different religions and cultures. Tomás Prower is the international author of multiple, best-selling books. A graduate of the University of California: Santa Barbara, he holds two degrees: one in Global Socio-Economics and one in Latin American & Iberian studies. Being natural-born globe trekker, he sought additional education at the Universidad de Chile while working as a translator for their literature department. Due to his fluency in English, French, and Spanish, he was given the opportunity to become a cultural liaison for the French Government in South America between France, the United States, Chile, Peru, and the member states of Mercosur. During this time, he traveled extensively in the Amazon Jungle, learning as much as he could about the region's indigenous peoples.Upon returning to the United States, Tomás moved to Reno and became the External Relations Director for the American Red Cross in Nevada before moving back home to Los Angeles where he had a brief stint as a night-shift mortician. Now, he pursues his fascination for the mystical side of life as a full time writer and author giving lectures and workshops around the globe.
International best selling author Tomas Prower shares thoughts on Gay Pride and gay rights. State lawmakers have proposed a record 238 bills that limit the rights of LGBTQ American citizens this year. Their primary focus is on the transgender population. As Gay Pride is celebrated in June, the legislators with the anti-gay agenda are showing up in full force. Roe v Wade is the precursor to the negation of Gay rights. If Roe falls, other human protection laws are on the chopping block. The US Federal government officially recognized Gay Pride month in 1999 when Former President Bill Clinton declared June Gay and Lesbian Pride Month. As a result, today, there are celebrations in June and October. Now transgender people and the gay community are being used as a "wedge issue" to motivate right-wing voters. The negative and hateful comments create mental, emotional, and physical health stressors in the LBGTQ+ community. The answer is love for all the hatred toward LGBTQ+ and Gay Pride. We are all spirits living a human existence and agreed to learn specific lessons in this lifetime. The fear that the right has regarding gays is entirely unfounded. To use their theory on GOD and perfection. GOD is perfect in all ways. Since GOD created everyone, we are all perfect in his eyes.
