Erik Weihenmayer is an adventurer, bestselling author, and motivational speaker… but he's perhaps best known as the first blind person to summit Mount Everest. After losing his vision as a teenager, Erik refused to let blindness define his limits. Instead, he became a world-class climber, kayaker, and co-founder of No Barriers—a global movement helping people turn adversity into possibility. Today, Erik shares how losing his sight reshaped his identity, how climbing became both his passion and his teacher, and how summiting Everest was never a solo achievement but a testament to trust, teamwork, and community. He opens up about learning to navigate fear, why saying "yes" to challenge is the doorway to growth, and how every one of us (regardless of circumstance!) can live a No Barriers life. My friends, if you've ever felt limited by your circumstances, this conversation is for you. You'll leave inspired to rethink what's possible, encouraged to lean into community rather than go it alone, and reminded that your greatest obstacles might just become the foundation for your greatest purpose.

For nearly 40 years, Jeff Troesch has worked behind the scenes with NBA players, MLB All-Stars, Olympic medalists, and national championship programs. He's coached athletes at every Olympic Games since 1988, helped shape the mental systems at IMG Academy, and consulted for USA Track & Field. In 2025, he distilled 150 mental performance lessons into one book: One Day Better.Jeff doesn't preach positive thinking, he teaches neutral thinking. His approach encourages athletes to define what "one day better" looks like for each specific session, preventing the overwhelm that comes from fixating on long-term goals. Adaily decision, not a distant destination.Jeff's career path wasn't linear. After a marketing degree from Washington State University and four years as Media Relations Director for the Seattle SuperSonics, he returned to school for an advanced degree in sports psychology. He launched his performance career in 1987 as an NBA consultant, later expanding into MLB with the Mariners and Tigers."One Day Better" isn't a slogan: it's a system. Whether you're chasing an Olympic Trials qualifier, a high school PR, or just trying to stay consistent when life feels chaotic, the mental game is the game. You don't need to win the season today. You just need to win the day.Tap into the Jeff Troesch Special. Most entrepreneurs are crushing it on paper… but quietly starving for connection behind the scenes. And that's exactly why I'm so fired up about today's episode of The Happy Hustle Podcast, because I'm sitting down with my brother Stefanos Sifandos for a real, raw, and deeply powerful conversation about relationships, masculinity, healing, and what it actually takes to feel “turned on” by your life again.Stefanos is the kind of guy who doesn't just talk about connection, he lives it. He's a husband, a father, an international speaker, and a transformational coach who's helped people heal trauma, redefine masculinity, and build deeper, more connected lives for over two decades. He's also the author of a brand new book called Tuned In and Turned On: A Path to True Connection, Deep Healing, and Lasting Love, and trust me… It's not just a book, it's a blueprint. In this episode, we go way beyond surface-level “relationship tips.” We talk about the stuff most people avoid… the triggers, the trauma patterns, the disconnection that sneaks in when you're busy building a business and trying to be the provider… and the emotional armor that slowly kills intimacy if you don't face it.Stefanos breaks down how many of us aren't actually struggling because we're “bad at relationships”… we're struggling because we're operating from old wounds, unconscious protection strategies, and a nervous system that's been stuck in survival mode for way too long. And the reason this conversation matters so much right now is that the world is more connected digitally than ever… but emotionally? Spiritually? Intimately? We're disconnected as hell. This episode is an invitation to come back home to yourself and, from that place, build relationships that actually feel safe, alive, and deeply fulfilling. If you're an entrepreneur trying to build a business while also being a great partner, parent, and human… this episode is for you. What does Happy Hustlin mean to you?Stefanos says embracing the multi-layered aspects of being humans, right? That involves commerce and money and success and family and love and joy and tragedy and health and wellness and novelty and variety, like all the things, man. And really embracing that in a deeper way and submitting to that, like submitting to the you know, the fruits that God has given us, that our soulful expression has the opportunity to experience. "The Good Listening To" Podcast with me Chris Grimes! (aka a "GLT with me CG!")
Send us a textWhat if your team's friction isn't about difficult people—but mismatched “food”? We sit down with Nigel Risner, the self-styled Chief Zookeeper, to unpack a disarmingly simple idea: people are different, not difficult. From that starting point, Nigel shows how to stop serving steak to dolphins, how to read the room fast, and how to change your language so action follows naturally. He's direct, funny, and unfiltered—and he cares about results more than applause.Nigel walks us through the moment his model clicked, staring at labelled buckets in a zoo and realising communication is about feeding styles, not forcing messages. We talk about being responsible to the audience, not for the audience; why the best meetings prize presence over note-taking; and how small changes in pace and detail produce big jumps in buy-in. His 211 vs 212 framework nails peak performance: most days are very good, but a few tip into “boiling” when energy and clarity align. You can't fake those days—but you can study and repeat what makes them possible. There's heart and grit here, too. Nigel shares the story of a brain aneurysm after a relentless travel schedule, how COVID forced a reset, and why “be where your feet are” became more than a line—it became a way to live. We riff on tennis and the inner game—play the point you're in, serve well, and reduce interference—and translate that into everyday leadership and customer service. He also gives us four punchy values to carry forward: drink from the fountains of knowledge, swear to make today your best, steal time to help others, and, when you lie down, be grateful for dreams. If you lead teams, speak to customers, or simply want more 212 days, this conversation is a toolkit: practical, human, and immediately usable. Please welcome to our show internationally-acclaimed photographer, artist, and author Claudio Santini, whose thought-provoking work has inspired much reflection. When I visited Claudio in his Los Angeles studio recently, I felt I was in the presence of a true genius. His work spoke to me, including his latest collection, focused on capturing a quiet mental state to inspire a better humanity. Today, we'll speak to Claudio about his life and work, including an exhibit in Naples, Italy, currently running through December. Claudio was born and raised in Rome, Italy, and developed an early passion for photography. He started his career as an architectural photographer, later exploring the intersection of photography and painting through mixed media. Upon moving to Los Angeles, his work was featured in the New York Times, LA Times, and Domus. You've likely seen his work featured in major magazines, too. And in a world focused on Ai, I wanted to showcase the work of someone inspired by everyday events, people, and nature. Claudio captures the humanity of life just that way, pure and innocent, with texture. Please enjoy my full conversation with Claudio Santini on all video and audio platforms of #DeborahKobyltLIVE, #LittleItalyPodcast, and the #LittleItalyOfLAPodcast. I'm your host, #DeborahZaraKobylt, and it's my pleasure to welcome you here.
