Watch out, the late tomato growalong coming soon!Hello and welcome to Diaries of a Lady Gardener podcast, hosted by me, the Lady Gardener. I can't quite believe we're on season 5 of this podcast, which came to life after I desperately wanted an excuse to hop on a call with my favourite Instagram gardeners to ask them all of my pressing questions. It has turned into an incredible community of plant-lovers with inspirational guests each and every week sharing invaluable information, and making me want to buy at least 10 new plants, seed packets, bare roots, tubers (and the rest of it) every episode. I hope you're ready for another fabulous season chatting to everyone from flower farmers and allotmenteers to some of the greatest garden gurus, listening to us chat about all the things we've done in the name of plants, from our biggest achievements to our fabulous garden fails. This season is sponsored by ACAI Outdoorwear, which if you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that barely a day goes by where I'm not dressed head to toe in their clothing whether I'm out at the allotment, on the farm - or even out for lunch! I love the way they perfectly balance style and performance with features such as shower resistance and thermal lining, features which are invaluable when you're someone who is working outside whatever the weather. Learn about its rich history, medicinal properties, and the many benefits Chinese medicine has for your mind, body, and soul. Whether it's lethargy, irregular cycles, or even low sex drive, Chloe has a formulation for you. Tune in to find out which one fits you best!  Chloe Weber L. Ac MSOM developed an interest in public health and medicine after being diagnosed with Cutaneous Leishmaniasis in high school. As one of the first cases diagnosed in Costa Rica, Chloe was drawn to study Ecology and Evolutionary biology at CU Boulder where she began to understand how diseases evolve along with us and the deep connection between humans and our environment. Eventually, Chloe was drawn to Chinese medicine as a way to address public health issues. She graduated with a Masters of Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder and spent time studying at Heilongjiang University Hospital in Harbin, China.  After graduating, Chloe co-founded a non-profit sliding-scale walk-in Chinese herb clinic called Urban Herbs. When Chloe's son, Remy, was diagnosed with a rare and debilitating genetic disorder (STXBP1) she decided to extensively study integrative neurology and functional medicine and has motivated her to find ways to help children with neuro-developmental issues and seizures.  Chloe is currently the CEO and Co-founder of Radical Roots, a Chinese herb company on a mission to make superior hemp and herb products and Remy's Revenge resource website.   KEY POINTS / MAIN TAKEAWAYS: How Chloe discovered her passion for Chinese Herbal Medicine.  The brain-gut connection.  What is Chinese medicine? Seeing herbs in action is a powerful reminder of why we can find roots of herbal medicine in basically every culture. Through a couple different ventures, Chloe Weber has done lots of great work to make Chinese Medicine and herbs accessible to more people, particularly in underserved communities. Chloe has dedicated her life to blending her passions for public health and Chinese Medicine and she joins us to share her knowledge on herbs, the benefits they bring to public health, and so much more. On Today's Episode of A Healthy Curiosity: Why she compares the anatomy of herbal formulas to a symphony The important role digestion plays in overall health How the gut-brain axis affects numerous systems throughout the body What led her into building herbal formulas with CBD Chloe developed an interest in public health and medicine after being diagnosed with Cutaneous Leishmaniasis in high school. Running her clinic Chloe was able to dive into her study of herbs and found great joy in community outreach. When her son Remy was diagnosed with a rare and debilitating genetic disorder (STXBP1) she decided to combine the power of Chinese Herbs with high quality full spectrum hemp and co-founded Radical Roots. We're so pleased to bring you our latest episode, which features The Brain Possible's CEO and Founder, Emily Abbott, having a conversation with Chloe Weber. Chloe is the co-founder of a CBD and Chinese Herb company called Radical Roots that features, among other products, Remy's Revenge—a mixture she developed for her exceptional child, Remy—and also the name of her website where she discusses diet, detox, movement, her experience practicing acupuncture, and more. Chloe has been interested in biohacking her way through healing since, as a high school student, she was one of the first cases of cutaneous leishmaniasis (a type of skin infection) diagnosed in Costa Rica. From there, she developed an interest in public health and medicine and went on to study Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at CU Boulder. Eventually to Chinese medicine, Chloe graduated with a master's in oriental medicine from Southwest acupuncture college in Boulder and also spent time studying abroad. Since then, she's been busier than ever—co-founding a nonprofit sliding-scale walk-in clinic called Urban Herbs. Though she's not accepting new patients at this time as she pursues her doctorate and continues to focus on caring for Remy's medical needs, we encourage you to visit Radical Roots and Remy's Revenge to read more about how Chloe's extensive study of integrative neurology and functional medicine has motivated her to find ways to help children with neurodevelopmental issues and seizures. In this episode, we'll hear from Chloe on both her personal journey as a mama warrior and her professional journey as she aims to promote healing in her son and others. Support the show (https://whoiscarter.z2systems.com/np/clients/whoiscarter/donation.jsp)
