It's that time again! Time for another episode of the Super BS Gamescast. This week, the dudes come back from San Diego Comic Con and discuss some trailers from the convention. Dave has been playing Ori and the Blind Forest. Brian has been playing Horizon: Zero Dawn. Josh has been playing Wolfenstien. Dave updates us on Nintendo and Activision stocks and tells us how we can invest. Nintendo's online apps are out and they're not doing so great. We also talk about Splatoon 2, Overwatch's new "doomfist," the Overwatch league rules and regulations and the new coop beta for Final Fantasy XV. Finally we end things by talking about some the games we love and how Brian won't pay 60 dollars for anything. And then we read some podcast reviews. If you like the show, please subscribe to us on iTunes, leave us a review and send us an email at superbscast@gmail.com --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Chris O'Regan chats to Chris and Nicholas Bischoff of Brotherhood Games about the design and development of their post-apocalyptic alternate reality adventure game, Beautiful Desolation. http://media.blubrry.com/caneandrinse/caneandrinse.com/sausage/TSF_Episode344.mp3 Music from Beautiful Desolation is by Mick Gordon, who also scored DOOM, Prey, and Wolfenstien and can be bought from here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1238290/BEAUTIFUL_DESOLATION_Soundtrack/ 1. Arrival2. Mystery3. Human The Sausage Factory 344 was edited by Chris O'Regan The Sausage Factory is an interview-based podcast that lifts the lid on the makers of videogames. It examines the way in which games are made by asking the very people who create them, though the questions asked aren't just about game design, they also cover how developers made their start and what inspires them as creators. Split into two halves, the first segment delves into what makes the developers tick by asking about how they started, what and who inspires them and what games they are currently playing, whereas the second part of the show covers the game that they are currently working on and the thought processes behind its development. So, if you really want to hear about a game's gestation in full and frank detail then you have found the right podcast.
I’ve got a good feeling about this. After almost ten years in bed with Electronic Arts, the folks at Lucasfilm are looking for a new hope. For starters, they have changed their name; Lucasfilm games is the new mantle and it brings with it some lofty expectations. Secondly, and maybe more importantly, the Star Wars IP will be handled by more than just one publisher. We dig through all the details and see just how excited Rage is about this wild turn of events. Luckily for us, the newly minted Lucasfilm Games is not just set on concentrating on Star Wars. Yup, they are in their bag and are looking to everyone’s favorite archaeologist, Indiana Jones Jr. What’s to come for the character that inspired two massive franchises in Tomb Raider and the Uncharted series? With Machine Games at the helm, we know there will be plenty of Nazi slaying. But will it be an Xbox/PC exclusive? And finally, one of the biggest games of 2021 has been pushed to 2022. Hogwarts Legacy looks to add time on their side to increase the games quality, and perhaps distance itself from other shenanigans. Juarez gives us his take on his beloved magical wizarding world. All that and much more coming up on this week’s episode. Right now!!!! Music: Electric Mantis - Daybreak https://youtu.be/Lz68DccWZ4U

Video Game Rations—It's like a bookclub, but without the books. For August, Nolan, Eric, and Brian (and Nolan's dog Barbas, we apologize) play Wolfenstein: The New Order. A game about taking the world back from the Nazi's with nothing but silenced pistols, lasers, a grizzly sensitive demeanor, a couple pals, and the deadliest weapon of all, throwing knives... Our game today is one of the best FPSes in recent memory. The New Order manages to excell at both new and interesting elements, while still paying homage to it’s iconic ancestors. We rejoin the original FPS hero, BJ Blazkowicz, as he faces his old enemy, General Deathshead, and the Nazi regime in a whole new arena: THE FUTURE! Well, 1960, but its the future to BJ. Developers MachineGames (who I incorrectly refer to as “Machine Head”) use the new setting and returning characters to tell a surprisingly moving story.
We had a lot to say about Wolfenstein: The New Order, so much so that we had to split it into our first ever TWO PART EPISODE!
We talk about super hero movies, Wolfenstien, and Phill tells us about his history in freelance design.
On this episode of The Final Score is our old school pick this week, we play with our Pets, Wildstar is still playing things, Defiance goes free, Wolfenstien is way too much fun, all the E3 talk you can stand, and more!
Unfortunately, due to some odd technical issues, the last third of the podcast had to be cut (this included the news and emails portion of the show). Sorry for the short episode this week and the abrupt cut off ending, we will address any email questions we received on next week's show. In terms of games, Jon is playing Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 while Nathan plays through Wolfenstien, wraps up Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect 2 and relives some Mirror's Edge. As for Sean, he wraps up Professor Layton and the Unwound Future and dives head first into the first Mass Effect.
