SISTERHOOD OF SWEAT - Motivation, Inspiration, Health, Wealth, Fitness, Authenticity, Confidence and Empowerment

Welcome back to The Sisterhood of Sweat podcast. Today, we have the pleasure of speaking with Zibby Allen, the talented actress who plays Bree on the hit Netflix series Virgin River. Zibby joins us to discuss the show's success, the challenges of portraying sensitive storylines, and her experience co-hosting the podcast 'I Like You Very Much.' Let's dive in and hear what Zibby has to share. Quotes from the episode: "It's an incredibly comforting show for people. It's a good watch, and it sort of is like a multi generational kind of appealing show." "We know how to balance things for one another on the days where there are heavy scenes." "I feel a great sense of responsibility to both carry Bree's story and also be an advocate for the reclamation of our individuality and our sexuality." "I would say that's probably my best answer, that I'm educating myself. Rain has been a really incredible resource for particular storyline." "You will not see the end of season six coming. And you know, we've been picked up for season seven, so it's not the end of the show." Check out Zibby's podcast: I LIKE YOU VERY MUCH The series is available on Apple, Spotify, and almost all other podcast platforms.   The podcast, which was inspired by Zibby and Alex's deep friendship, was created as a way for them to share that bond and connection with their listeners. The pair also celebrate what they appreciate about their guests, where they have fun exploring and understanding more about their friends and colleagues in the industry.  The podcast is a paid subscription (which provides access to the entire first season) where 10 % of all profits go to Save the Children.  How you can stay in touch with Linda: Website Facebook Twitter Instagram Pinterest YouTube SoundCloud "Proud Sponsors of the Sisterhood of S.W.E.A.T"  Essential Formulas

Today’s guest is a Ukulele playing, folk-singing, writer, producer, and new series regular on season 3 of Virgin River: Zibby Allen. Her energy and insight into the creative process is infectious. And her 20+ year career is an example of just how much beauty—and success—can come from our projected failures. You’ve probably seen Zibby one of the dozens of commercials she’s acted in over the years. She’s appeared on many hit shows including GREYS ANATOMY, THE EXORCIST, ROGUE, THE TWILIGHT ZONE, NANCY DREW, THE FLASH, and FOR THE PEOPLE. And if playing the Ukulele wasn’t enough to make her a super cool human, she produced and co-hosted the first 4 seasons of a true crime podcast. Then alongside an all-female cast and crew, she co-wrote, co-produced, and starred in the indie feature THE LIVING WORST. We cover a lot of ground in this episode, from the time she landed multiple top tier agent meetings (and what happened at the final one) to the mortifying time she went against her creative intuition (and why she vowed never to do that again). She talks about audition life in Vancouver vs. L.A., and how she’s learned to trust in life’s unfolding—letting creativity inspire all aspects of her path. Yeardley Smith is one of the most famous women on Earth — though you might not know it if you just bumped into her somewhere, at least until she said something. See, Smith is the voice of Lisa Simpson, the precocious 8-year-old middle child of the Simpson family and the center of some of the show’s very best episodes. (“Lisa’s Substitute”! Sob!) But Smith is more than the famous kid she’s played for more than 30 years now. She’s starred in numerous films and other TV shows, including the infamous Herman’s Head (sadly, she wasn't one of the people inside Herman’s head) and the Oscar-winning film As Good as It Gets. She’s even made shoes. But it’s her most recent project that might seem most outside her wheelhouse. It’s a true crime podcast that examines crimes from the point-of-view of the people who solved them, then sends Smith and her co-host Zibby Allen to cover around the country looking into these crimes. It’s an engaging and thoughtful look at how crimes can rock tiny little towns where everybody knows everybody. Smith joins Todd this week to talk about the national fascination with true crime, her wide-ranging slate of interests, and, yes, Lisa Simpson. Learn more about your ad choices.
