The Transformers franchise is back, but only sort of? This week on Cinemaholics, we discuss Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The new film takes place in the 90s and departs from the mainline Transformers movies by Michael Bay. It's maybe barely a sequel to Bumblebee, the prequel we declared as the best Transformers by default in 2018. But this time around the Autobots, still led by Optimus Prime, team up with new allies inspired by the Beast Wars cartoon to stop a worldwide alien threat you probably don't care about. That said, Jon and Will don't fully see eye-to-eye on this one. So stay tuned to hear where they both ultimately land on this transformative new take on the series. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was directed by Steven Caple Jr. (Creed II) and written by Joby Harold, Darnell Metayer, Josh Peters, Erich Hoeber, and Jon Hoeber. The cast includes Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback in live-action roles, with the voice cast including Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, Liza Koshy, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Pete Davidson, Colman Domingo, Cristo Fernández, and Tongayi Chirisa. Plus longtime returning voices to the franchise: Peter Cullen, John DiMaggio, and David Sobolov. The film is being released through Paramount Pictures. Hey everyone, here we go again... the latest Transformers film - Transformers: Rise of the Beasts - has now hit theaters in my local market and to say I was skeptical would be an understatement. I've grown up owning a LARGE amount of Transformers toys and enjoying some of the early material but these movies really burned me by Age of Extinction and The Last Knight. I'm a fan of Steven Caple Jr's work from Creed II so I was really pulling for him to make the first great MAINLINE Transformers movie (I REALLY liked Bumblebee). So, is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts another bad entry in this long-running franchise or have they finally figured out how to make this iconic toy line work on the big screen? Find out in this SPOILER-FREE review. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts: Directed by: Steven Caple Jr. Screenplay by: Joby Harold and Darnell Metayer & Josh Peters and Erich Hoeber & Jon Hoeber Story by: Joby Harold Produced by: Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Duncan Henderson, Don Murphy, Mark Vahradian Music by: Jongnic Bontemps Cinematography by: Enrique Chediak Edited by: William Goldenberg, Joel Negron Production Design by: Sean Haworth Casting by: Wittney Horton Cast: Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Luna Lauren Velez, Dean Scott Vazquez, Tobe Nwigwe, Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, Liza Koshy, John DiMaggio, David Sobolov, Pete Davidson Synopsis: A '90s globetrotting adventure that introduces the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons.

Or do you guy still plan on keeping it the same and using the older ones? Dors: Hey how’s it going Mike, Jed and Levi, You’re slowly getting closer to your 100th episode, if you continue to upload at the current rate by my calculations that will be July 2020... can we expect something special for the big 100th? Also... how do you imagine your Transformers collections will look by this point? Do you think you’ll have pretty much everything you want and you’ll be close to finishing your collections or is that still a long way off? Can you ever see yourselves “complete and finished” If so, what next? Do you close the curtain on your collections and move on to something else or do you continue to replace the older figures with the new and improved versions if companies still keep making them? Hope you had a blast at retro con, Mike and Vanessa your costumes looked awesome. Shout out to all the family in the extended BSU (Blackout & Shout Universe) including all the four legged ones...Oh and err.. FUJB Tyler: Can you ask Vanessa if Mike is okay? Also, is nostalgia what drives your collection or are you in it for the love of toys? I got to thinking earlier this week about the types of figures I collect and the reasons behind it. It's from Nostalgia that I collect Beast Wars, but I've discovered an affinity for many new lines from different fictions like Gears Of War, Starship Troopers and those new JoyToy figures that are made in the spirit of the Titanfall games. Are there any newer franchises that interest you enough to collect them or is it strictly a hobby reserved for nostalgia? Love the show, even you still Mike. Jared Bell: What's the weirdest thing that you collect or have in your collection? Can also be one thing that you bought don't need to be something you collect.Fuck Sheetz!! Wawa for Life!! Go Birds!! EOL

As we inch ever closer to the end Barry and I start suffering from voice huskiness from chatting for so long, but that's not going to stop us! We call in absolute gem Sarah Millman to chat with us about her comic work, how retail work nightmares can be writing gold, video games and more! There's a brief interlude in which I admit I can't really handle time differences and Barry & I chat about SPCP Live and The British Heart Foundation, before Sarah rejoins us for more Disney chat. Also, Rich returns, and he's quite drunk! We're then joined by the amazing David Sobolov; voice actor and all-round brilliant dude. We chat about his acting and voice acting career (and the role that almost ended it), the importance of kindness, 'Vin Ethanol' and loads more! Please note that the competition in the episode is now closed. Episode Theme - 'Scarface (Push It To The Limit)' by Paul Engemann End Theme - 'The Glow' by Willie Hutch Justgiving Donation Link: www.justgiving.com/spcplive3 Timings: 00:00:00: Sarah Millman, 01:04:13: The Return of Sarah Millman, 01:14:50: David Sobolov I'd like to extend an apology to Sarah, David and the listeners; something went awry in this segment so it seems that guests are answering questions before we've actually finished asking them, meaning there's more talking over one another and extended gaps. I'm really sorry; I have no idea what happened or why, and there's no way for me to fix it. I still think it's worth a listen though, as Sarah & David are fabulous! Disclaimer: The SPCP Live 3 episodes will be mostly unedited. This means they will be put out as close to their live versions as possible, including (but not limited to); audio delays and the resultant accidentally-talking-over-each-other, bodily function noises (aka the World's Loudest Sneezes), slightly-too-long sections in which we try to deal with the mountain of technical problems on the day... I believe they are still very enjoyable though, and I hope you have as much fun listening in as Barry & I did when broadcasting!
