In this quick episode, Susan Finch from Rooted in Revenue shares valuable insight about the importance of professional editing and proofreading when translating marketing materials into another language. While AI tools can be helpful, they may not always capture the nuances and cultural context needed for effective communication and translation. Professional proofing and editing are particularly important if you have a detailed branding guide. A recent episode of All-Volunteer, All Heart from Binky Patrol talks about branding guides. EP61: Why You Need a Branding Guide for Your Organization Key Takeaways: When translating important marketing materials like brochures, reports, or website content into another language, relying solely on AI tools may not be sufficient. Hiring professional proofreaders and editors who are native speakers of the target language can ensure your message is conveyed clearly, accurately, and in line with your brand's voice and culture. Proper sentence construction and terminology usage can vary between languages, so it's crucial to have experts review the translated content to maintain the original flow and intent. Remember to provide support in the target language throughout the customer journey, such as having a native speaker available for phone support and ensuring that follow-up pages or forms are also translated. As part of our MrBallen Foundation series, we have Bev Warnock, the executive director of Parents of Murdered Children, an organization dedicated to supporting families devastated by the unimaginable loss of a loved one to violence. As I spoke with Bev, I couldn't help but feel the weight of her mission. The pain and grief that these families endure is unfathomable. But within that darkness, Parents of Murdered Children brings a glimmer of hope, a lifeline for those navigating the turbulent waters of grief. The organization's origins trace back to a tragic incident in 1978 when a young woman's life was cut short by the hands of her ex-boyfriend. From this heart-wrenching loss emerged a gathering of parents who, like broken pieces, found strength in coming together. And thus, Parents of Murdered Children was born, offering solace, compassion, and a sense of belonging to those who've walked this unimaginable path. In this episode, Bev shares the struggles these families face – the legal battles, the lingering questions of why, and the challenge of rebuilding lives while never letting go of precious memories. She tells us about the profound importance of remembering those lost, and how even the simplest acts of remembrance can comfort a grieving heart. But it's not just the families that bear the weight of grief; the entire community also suffers. Bev talks about how parents struggle to cope with their grief while helping their surviving children navigate their pain. It's a heartbreaking balance that requires understanding and support from everyone around them. So, as we delve into this episode of All-Volunteer, All Heart, let us remember the strength and courage of those facing unimaginable heartbreak. And may we all be inspired to reach out, listen, and remember the stories of those who may no longer be with us but whose memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of those they left behind. Bev and Susan gave a few challenges and action items in this episode: Reach out to someone who has lost a loved one and share a favorite memory or story about the person. Let them know that their loved one is not forgotten and that their memory lives on in the hearts of others. Encourage friends and family members to be patient and understanding with grieving parents or loved ones. Offer a listening ear and let them express their emotions without judgment or pressure to move on. Challenge yourself to attend a support group or grief workshop if you have experienced the loss of a loved one to violence. Connecting with others who have gone through similar experiences can be a crucial step in the healing process. Consider volunteering or supporting organizations like Parents of Murdered Children that provide vital resources and support to families affected by violence. Your contribution, whether big or small, can make a significant difference in someone's life. Be mindful of the impact of domestic violence and strive to raise awareness about its devastating consequences. Support initiatives that address and prevent violence within communities, as fostering a safe and nurturing environment is essential for everyone's well-being. Sharing Jesus with Muslims: A Step-by-Step Guide ABOUT THE EPISODE:On the 67th episode of the Paul Cardall podcast, Author and Pastor Fouad Masri talks with Paul about sharing Jesus with Muslims. Fouad discusses growing up in Lebanon during a civil war between Maronite Christians and Muslims. He talks about how much hate was in his heart until the words of Jesus inviting people to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Fouad says doing this began to change his heart. They talk about about differences between Islam and Christianity and how the messages of each religion is misunderstood by both groups. Most muslims have never met a Christian or read the Bible. In 1993, he founded Crescent Project to nurture transformational relationships between Christians and Muslims and to rally the Church to reach out to Muslims to share the Good News of Christ. Since then, he has trained more than 21,000 Christians to sensitively and purposefully share their faith with Muslims through both the Bridges One-Day and Sahara Challenge training experiences. Born into an Amish family, Silicone Boone talks to Paul Cardall about exploring space and understanding our humanity with Silicone's album Reaches. Listening to his music and in our conversation, it's clear that his upbringing in an Anish community provided the songwriter with a large vocabulary and a mind of curiosity that flows in his poetic lyrics. Like Paul Simon, his lyrics roll off the tip of his tongue in beauty and mystery. There aren't a lot of artists with a story as unique and fascinating as that of rock musician Silicone Boone. For those that aren't aware of the sub-groups of the Amish, Old Order is the most traditional of the religious group, completely shunning the outside world. He spent 9 years of his childhood free from the conveniences of modern technology. So, imagine the world the young man discovered when Silicone's family left behind their heritage for a new faith. Today he hails from Campbellsville, KY as a husband and father. Silicone Boone's curiosity of our history as humans, the creation of the world, and our role in the vast cosmos are themes in his album, The Reaches, that I have on repeat. A meditation and time of prayer being thankful. We are not only too distracted, but often are too suspicious of our life or too disinterested for real thanksgiving. God is worthy of our thanks for everything. Truly everything. It is good to practice praying our thanks to our Creator and Sustainer. When Ben Tewes called panicked, he had two months to complete 236 court-ordered community service hours. We quickly calmed him down and assured him, he could do this! We came up with a plan, outlined here - https://binkypatrol.org/article.cfm?id=510. And he took it a step further. His probation officer wanted to be assured that BEN was actually making the blankets. He came up with the idea to set up his phone in timelapse mode and record his work. He won them over, they rooted for him to make his deadline, 236 kids are receiving blankets in Colorado because of him, and I think he's hooked. Hear his story in this episode of All-Volunteer, All Heart from Binky Patrol, "236 Hours - A Community Service Story."

On the 52nd Episode of All Heart with Paul Cardall, the award winning pianist and host talks to one of Australia's biggest stars, Wesley Dean, formerly known as Wes Carr. He didn't need to leave Australia. For more than a dozen years, Wesley had been one of the continent's best-known artists, armed with a larger-than-life voice that catapulted songs like "You" to the top of the Australian charts. Even so, the Adelaide native found himself boarding an American-bound plane in early 2021, his wife and two sons at his side, the entire family heading toward their new home in Nashville. Paul and Wesley talk about being on a national television show that told his story. They talk about his new album that explores leaving his hometown and moving his family to another country. All Heart with Paul Cardall is sponsored by J.D. Netto's novel, The Broken Miracle, a 2-part fictional series with characters and real events inspired by the life of Paul Cardall, a world-renowned pianist born with only half a heart. The show had launched him to stardom, but it was the time he'd already spent honing his craft — the Motown songs he sang during childhood; the three-hour shows he played in Sydney pubs as a teenager; the critically-acclaimed band, Tambalane, he formed with Silverchair's Ben Gillies at 21 years old — that readied him for the spotlight. Inspired to blur the lines between roots-rock, soul, and folk with his solo career, he made that initial trip to Nashville in search of likeminded collaborators. Years later, he returned to Nashville looking for something else: a new beginning. "I was chasing down a life-long dream," Dean says, who'd spent the immediate years before his American migration living in a sea shanty town on the Sunshine Coast, quietly reevaluating his priorities. The Sunshine Coast's leisurely pace had been a godsend, allowing Dean a break from the career he'd been relentlessly pursuing since boyhood. He briefly stepped away from music during that time… and when he returned to it, he did so on his own terms, writing songs that mixed heartland hooks with heart-baring honesty. Starting with "Never Goin' Back to the Darkside" and "Where Only You and I Remain," a new album began taking shape, one whose creation would soon take Dean halfway across the world. With its mix of authentic Americana and modern-day roots music, unknown is an album about departures and arrivals. These 14 songs tell the autobiographical story of Dean's life-changing relocation, bookended by the cathartic "Leave Adelaide Alone" — which opens the record with ringing electric guitars, accordion, and a meteoric chorus — and the album-closing title track, a soulful piano ballad that unfolds like a conversation between Dean and the loved ones he's left behind. Recorded in his newly-adopted hometown of Nashville and written on both sides of his transpacific flight, unknown marks the rebirth of an artist who's scaled the long ladder of success, enjoyed the view from the top, and taken a much-needed breather… only to rededicate himself to the climb all over again. For Wesley Dean, the journey began when he was 8 years old. A gifted vocalist, he honed his chops by singing along to Jackson 5 classics like "I'll Be There" and "Mama's Pearl" at a young age, then became a fixture on Sydney's barroom stages as, Wes Carr, before he could legally drink. Appearing on Australian Idol made Carr a household name across the continent, and he released two gold-certified singles in the wake of his first-place finish, along with a studio album that peaked at Number 2 in his homeland. He later reclaimed his independence after spending multiple years on a major label's roster, continuing to play some of Australia's biggest stages — from Sydney Opera House to Melbourne's Palais Theatre — along the way. After a decade, the rigors of the road grew wearisome for the songwriter, who'd become a family man since his full-length debut blazed its path up the charts. It was time for a change of scenery. "We moved to the Sunshine Coast in pursuit of a quieter, simpler life," he says. "We had no plan and not a lot of money, but those five years turned out to be the greatest times of our lives. There were new friends and palm trees and barbecues every Saturday. The wine was flowing. It was like semi-retirement, in a way." Dean began spending less time on tour and more time with his family. He stopped writing as often. Music was once his north star, but now it was something distant, its light waning by the day. Yet even as he questioned his career path, he found himself unable to shake the feeling that there was more work to be done. Staying behind while his wife and children left town for a 10-day vacation, Dean found himself alone in the family's beach house, acoustic guitar in hand, ready to see if the muse would still answer when he knocked. It did. What followed was the most fruitful songwriting period of his career. For 10 days, Dean threw himself into the creative process, finishing 20 songs before his family returned. The experience helped restore his creative drive and open his musical floodgates once again, and when the time came for another change of scenery, Dean steered the family toward Nashville. unknown nods to that personal history, but this is an album about the present, not the past. Not long after landing in Tennessee, Dean got back to work, writing more songs about regrets, big risks, and fresh starts. He also reconnected with some of the collaborators he'd met during his first trip to Tennessee, including engineer Justin Cortelyou, and forged partnerships with new friends like co-writer Fred Wilhelm. They worked fast, capturing every spark of inspiration and fanning the flames into something big and bright. Together, the musicians layered piano-driven tracks like "That's Why I'm Here" with organ and light percussion, added swirls of atmospheric guitar to "Never Thought Of You," and channeled heartland heroes like Tom Petty on the driving, determined "Hello, I Love You, Goodbye." "I'd write a song and immediately record it," Dean remembers of those inspired months, which mirrored the creative growth spurt he'd experienced on the Sunshine Coast. "We encapsulated this big feeling of traveling overseas from Australia to America, arriving in our new home, and finding our way forward." There were still obstacles to overcome. When a business relationship went south, Dean found himself without the American support system he'd originally been promised. Meanwhile, the Australian borders remained closed, meaning he couldn't return home even if he'd wanted to. Choosing purpose over panic, he redoubled his commitment to Nashville and wrote "Gaslighter," an empowered track that's more anthemic than angry. "It was like someone was putting me through a test, just to make sure I was really serious about doing this," he says. "Out of all these negatives came some amazing blessings. Life is made up of those blessings. The beauty is, they reveal themselves in every way as we step further into the unknown." Wesley Dean SocialsInstagramTwitterYoutube
Wil and Liam are back with Susan talking about what the homeless in Portland really need, and it's not tiny houses. They need to kick addictions, get teeth, get an ID, get a ride and sometimes that's all it takes to get them off the streets. Dinner and a Movie has great gift cards you can give instead of having mugs printed with your company name for client gifts. The focus is on helping one person as a time, not unlike Binky Patrol comforting one child at a time. Don't try to solve the issue with one big stroke. You can't. No one can. It takes time with individuals. Throwing money and building tiny houses won't do it. It just tucks them away and lines the pockets of those involved in "solving." Listen to this episode to hear real stories from people helping those on the streets of all ages in this episode of All Volunteer, All Heart from Binky Patrol, "How to REALLY help the homeless in Portland." 60 percent of all of those on the street are there because of drug addiction. They don't want to be restricted by the rules of tiny home communities. They need recovery - now. Most have suffered from neglect or sexual abuse as children. These are the two connecting threads. They have varying levels of education, skills and unique interests that could have them independent if they could break the cycle of addiction. This isn't just adults, this is for teens on the streets too. Help Dinner and a Movie help them.
Every once in a while, we all need to be cared for and made to feel truly special. We may need relief from pain or perhaps help to overcome an issue that is affecting our self-esteem. Valerie Warren's life changed when she took action after discovering her family had countless health problems. She talks about the changes she made and how her gift as a dentist turned into a career of being a holistic dentist and why that matters to her patients. The 51st episode of All Heart with Paul Cardall is joined by Tina Cardall, Paul's wife. She introduced Paul to Valerie and also shares her brief history. About Valerie Warren:Dr. Valerie Warren said, "I am a cosmetic and family dentist from Owensboro, KY. I am married to my husband Chris and together we have three awesome sons – Stephen, Hayden, and Nolan.I knew I wanted a career that provided me the opportunity to care for and connect with people. I explored all aspects of healthcare and decided dentistry allowed me to combine my love for people, science, beauty, and my skill in art.I am a very sensitive person. I like it when people smile at me. From the time I was a little girl, I judged whether I had gained a teacher's approval by whether she smiled at me or not. This led me to my belief that a smile, both given and received, can change the way we feel and live.Away from dentistry, I love to exercise, anything nutrition and health-related, and love being a mom. I like to travel, admire the beauty of nature, and all things associated with personal beauty and betterment – I have developed a very holistic lifestyle and practice." Is there life after death? An estimated 9 million Americans from believers to atheists have had a near dear experience, according to the National Institute of Health. This is happening all over the world and 17% occur to people who are clinically dead for a several minutes. On the 50th episode of All Heart with Paul Cardall, Army Veteran and Psychotherapist Brian Hoyland shares his remarkable near death experience that he claims took him into the presence of God. Brian's military experience exposed him to toxic chemicals that led to heart failure. He underwent a heart transplant like Paul Cardall. The two discuss what it's like to recover from a heart transplant. About Brian HoylandI began my adult life by joining the U.S. Army Military Police Corps after high school; I served my country all over the world and was disabled due to injuries sustained during service. I then went on to obtain a master's degree in counseling psychology and started working as a psychotherapist with other combat veterans in the Department of Veteran's Affairs. I then worked as a program director and clinical supervisor with criminal offenders for the prison system in MN. I took a job with a private company working with recently released offenders to advance my career and it came with a large pay increase, but 4 months after I started I suffered a major heart failure and almost died. This was just the beginning of what my life would be like for the next couple of years. After having been exposed to toxic chemicals while in the military, I developed an autoimmune disease that would eventually kill me. One night, 8/2016, I suffered sudden and mysterious heart failure, the cause of which took several months, much testing and quite a bit of suffering to discover. The whole time God was gently calling me to repair my relationship with him and it was working. Then, just after the cause was discovered I had a massive cardiac arrest and died for 10 minutes 01/2017. Yet, in that moment, I had a near-death experience, visited heaven and talked with Jesus. I never lost consciousness and I remember my 7 hour fight in the ER, my death, Heaven and my return without a break in my conscious thought. This experience transformed my life as I learned valuable lessons about myself, my life, my faith and our God. When I died I stood face-to-face with God and God showed only love to me and I could feel that love was the same for every human being and it was pure and that God is LOVE (1 John 4:7-8)! I documented my experience in my journal, because While God did let me choose to return, I had failed to ask him how long I could expect to have until I returned to Heaven, so I wanted to be sure if it wasn't long that I would be able to share it. Amazingly, I lived for another 2 years and received a heart transplant on Ash Wednesday 2019. Upon biopsy of my heart after transplant, my Mayo Clinic transplant team told me that there was not a medical reason for my heart to have been functioning at all with such extensive damage. I however knew the cause. So I decided that I must write a book about my story. I tried to share how all of the suffering I endured leading up to the NDE and for the 2 years following until I received my heart transplant, helped me to see God's hand in my life and even during extreme suffering just how faithful and gentle God has been with me. And I want to share this with anyone who will listen. I want people to take away that “God loves them and has a plan for them and will stop at nothing to accept them into heaven if they are willing to trust in him. When I wrote my book I was pressured to take the central focus out and replace it with a more acceptable term so as to increase sales. Can you guess what that was? If you guessed Jesus you were right. Everyone felt referencing Jesus so strongly would turn people away and limit my audience, but how could I have the audacity to leave out my savior, the only reason for my visit at all.Get a copy of Brian's book "From Sudden Death to Paradise" under his alias T.S. Moved to Saskatoon, SK, Canada in the late 80's for my Dad's work with the Navigators (Christian Ministry Organization). She grew up with one brother and two sisters. Aimee took some acting when she was younger, but couldn't sing, still can't, so high school musicals were out of the question. She did what she could in drama class and in smaller high school plays. She always had a love of film, and theatre, and the constant in her mind was acting. Unfortunately, she was always under the impression (or conditioning of society) it's unrealistic and not a worthwhile pursuit. She received a Bachelors of Commerce in Marketing and moved to Vancouver, BC. She said, "I had what was a solid and good life. I had a great job, I had great friends, I loved the beauty of Vancouver. But I was deeply unsatisfied inside. I started reading a book a friend gave me about finding purpose. It has the reader ask themselves "if money wasn't an issue, what would you do?" The first thing I heard in my head was "ACT". And I thought " uh oh. That's not good." That's a scary thought, I was aware of the pitfalls of that journey and was terrified ~ I had talked myself out of it so many times. I decided to see what it may mean to me, and if it was legit in my heart. I took my first adult acting class. No going back. I felt so compelled inside. Like a fire that ignited and I couldn't put out. I found myself surrounded with people who had similar hearts. So I just continued that path with no expectations. A few months later, I was cast in my first play. A few months after that, an agent contacted me. I remember thinking " I can't have an agent, I have a full time career. But I'll take the meeting and just see where God leads me." The very next day, the day before my agent meeting, I was laid off. They were ending the position. They generously offered me other positions in the company to which I declined. I felt freed. I knew I was freed. I signed with that agent." She continued, "A year or so later I made the move to Los Angeles. I have not and will not stop pursuing this. It's something I can't turn off even though sometimes I've tried (good old dark nights of the soul!). " Aimee has two upcoming projects, one that is an action adventure filming here in Los Angeles, and one that is a political action drama filming in Philadelphia next month. Heart. Grit. Scott Stevens likes the way those words roll off his tongue. “It's all about being able to flourish in your own skin,” says Stevens, whose forthcoming debut album, Every Hat Is A Cowboy Hat, is a master class in what happens when a musician leans into his natural-bred confidence and emotion. “Sometimes you gotta double down, step off the ledge and trust whatever it is you trust,” Stevens says of putting his entirety into his music. “The heart of me is somehow split in equal parts rock and roll, soul, and country music,” Stevens says of his lyrically forthright and groove-centric sound. “At its core though, it's just stories in rhythmic form.” Ultimately, Stevens says he's most proud of his unique artistry being unabashedly him. In his eyes, when you're drawing from a well of sincerity as he does on his album, genre is secondary. To that end, Stevens' music is ripe to appeal to rock fans or country fans or frankly anyone who appreciates the uncontrollable urge to nod to the beat. “People that don't think they like country music need to listen to this,” he offers bluntly. “And for the people that don't think it's country music, well, to that I say, ‘Every hat is a cowboy hat if you're a real cowboy.' Scott graduated from Alabama University with a law degree. In addition to his music career, he puts on a legal hat as a criminal defense attorney. He told Whiskey Riff in a recent story about his new album, “Though I'm blessed to suit up and do my thing as an attorney, my dream has always been to support my family with my music.” He says, “I remember starting a job right after graduation and thinking that it was just the most boring thing ever. I looked at the girl I was dating (who is now my wife, Katie), and I said, ‘Look, I don't want to lose you. But I've got to go to Nashville.'” Listen to Scott's music and connect with him on social media:WebsiteSpotifyInstagramFacebookYouTubeTwitter

After being hurt and disaffected by her church experience, with thoughts of suicide, how did former Christian Worship Leader Megan Brown, rediscover her value to God and redefine her purpose? All Heart with Paul Cardall speaks to the 24 year old independent singer/songwriter from Hendersonville, Tennessee about her church experience and the music she's recorded that's giving voice to people like Megan who've been hurt. They talk about the challenge some Christians have of not understanding how to separate a healthy and productive relationship with God from a relationship with a Church of imperfect humans whose intentions are not always pure. Megan offers advice for pastors in hopes that the thousands of fans resonating with her songs will be heard and understood in their pain. Listening and understanding the hearts of parishioners over preaching is the most important action Megan believes a Church can do to prevent guilt, shame, anxiety, depression, and suicide.Megan Brown's thought-provoking songs like “If I'm Honest” and “Open Up Your Mind” authentically tackle self-doubt, anxiety, depression and suicide among Christians. Her experiences and gift of music is shaping her purpose, which is to explore songs filled with authenticity and honesty, acknowledging our insecurities, doubt, pain, struggles and scars while endlessly pursuing a relationship with a God who knows our hearts, a God who bleeds, a God who weeps, the God whose own suffering and scars remind us that we are not alone... Psychiatrist and a Pioneer in near-death studies, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, wrote, “The ultimate lesson all of us have to learn is unconditional love, which includes not only others, but ourselves as well.”Megan says, “I make music for people who have been hurt by people in church and have almost left the faith because of it.”Discover Megan on Social MediaTikTok InstagramFacebook YoutubeSpotify Paul Cardall is an artist who has given a new meaning to the phrase, a change of heart and how he used this radical change to take his music to an unexpected place. And the more honest I get, the more effective it is.”With her new album, heart theory, Ell does just that, weaving the story of her journey of the heart in her own voice using her arsenal of tools as a musician and artist to give each song the sonic backdrop it deserves. “Theory is the science of music, heart theory is the science of a heart,” says Ell.The tracks take the listener along the path of the seven stages of grief: shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing and acceptance. “If my last record was called The Project, this one could be called the process.” From the shock-to-the-heart felt in the groovy opening track “Hits me” to the sing-along-at-the-top-of-your-lungs acceptance of the closing track “ReadY to love,” Ell invites you to experience her journey.Produced by the legendary Dann Huff, heart theory maintains a sonic depth and auditory aura while still conveying the emotional rawness and storytelling that highlights Ell's growth since her debut album on Stoney Creek Records, The Project, which debuted at No. 1 on the Country Album Sales Chart and was named Billboard's “Best Country Album of 2017.” That album spawned her first Top 20 hit in the US, as well as her first No.1 on the Canadian Country radio charts – making her the first female artist to top that chart in 10 years. Most recently, she scored her first No. 1 with “What Happens in a Small Town,” her duet with Brantley Gilbert – another milestone moment making her the first Canadian artist to hit No. 1 in the US since Emerson Drive's “Moments” in 2007, and the first Canadian woman to reach the top of the charts since Terri Clark with “I Just Wanna Be Mad” in 2003.Over the past 3 years, Ell has shared the stage with some of the biggest acts in the world touring with Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, and Sugarland. She has more than held her own in moments alongside such artists as Mellissa Etheridge, Billy Ray Cyrus, Robert Randolph, Billy Gibbons and other legends. She has made multiple appearances on the CMA Awards stage including playing with Carrie Underwood and performing with distinguished country group, Little Big Town, alongside other powerhouse female artists in one the biggest moments of the 2019 CMA Awards where she was also nominated for Musical Event of the Year. Ell's nominations do not stop there, she is a 2x 2020 ACM nominee for New Female Artist of the Year and Music Event of the Year.Concurrently though, Ell was grappling with the real-life complexities that come with growing up, even as a rising star. “The past couple of years, I've been through a lot,” she says. “A public break-up took me through all of the stages of heartbreak, I turned 30, I had a health scare and countless other hurdles. And I came out the other side as a full human. There are moments when life just smacks you in the face and you need to do the work of figuring out what that means, how it changed you, and how to take full control of your life.”Ell points to several of the new songs as examples of her evolution and sense of maturity. “There's a song called ‘make you' that's about a trauma that happened to me as a little girl, something I have never publicly talked about,” she says. “Holding pieces of our story back means missing out on the opportunity to feel inspired, changed, drawn to make a difference. I got into this business to change people, to make them feel something. So, it was important to me to get really honest and say that all of us have skeletons in the closet, but those things make us who we are.”With a chorus and guitar lines that soar “wAnt me back” is glowing with self-appreciation and tints of anger. “I love watching people step into their own power,” says Ell. “It is one of the most inspiring moments to watch someone finally see their full potential.” With this sentiment, Ell co-wrote this mid-tempo track with hit-maker Kane Brown along with Matt McGinn and Lindsay Rimes. Preaching confidence and that there is no other you, Ell hopes to inspire others to free themselves of the shackles that no longer serve them well.Lauded by Forbes magazine as “one of the most exciting and talented young artists in Country music,” the Calgary native learned to play guitar while traveling with her father to Country-Bluegrass camps as a young girl. Ell was championed by Randy Bachman (of Bachman Turner Overdrive and The Guess Who), who discovered her at the age of 13, and was soon touring alongside the likes of Luke Bryan and Buddy Guy.While Ell has earned special recognition for her blistering guitar playing, she notes that she doesn't want to be defined by any one dimension of her work. She says, “I don't want to be known as just a guitar player. My favorite artists, like John Mayer and Keith Urban, are great players, but that's not the only thing you think of. I write, sing, produce and think all the pieces of the puzzle come together to make an artist's story unique, to paint the full picture. Yes, this is a huge guitar record, but that's not what I want be the first thing that rings the bell when you listen.”A major part of Ell's success has come from her dedicated exposure to an international audience. She has performed on her own tour, at the C2C Festival, opening tours for stars in their home territories, and as part of the CMA's “Introducing Nashville” series in Europe and Asia (at one point playing in eight different countries in 32 days).“I've loved doing so much international travel.” she says. “I always wanted to build my career beyond the borders of North America, so it's incredible to go to New Zealand, Japan, Germany, places where they're trying to figure out what I'm saying, but they're so into it. They listen to the catalog, learn the songs, come to the show ready for the experience—they're the perfect audience, they care so much.”As Lindsay Ell gears up for a new album and continues to tour around the globe, she embraces this next chapter of her career. “Artists are always scared of the infamous sophomore album,” she says, “but I'm so excited. I've done the work, I've found the right team, and I'm coming at it from a place of more strength and more honesty. I'm ready to do this, so bring it on.”Keep up will all Lindsay Ell on her socials:Instagram Facebook | Twitter | TikTok | YouTube

When we start a non-profit, we are usually pretty open to ANY help, any donations. Sometimes the cost of free can be higher than you'd expect. When we started, we were approached by several fabric companies wanting to help. Some were a perfect match, some were overwhelming with their generosity, and some simply put a piece of paper over "Basura" and said, "Binky Patrol" (Basura is trash in Spanish.) In this episode, we visit about the first donations and how they are still dear to us, even though they were challenging at first. Just because you are a charity, doesn't mean you have to say yes to everything people want to donate to you. When we started we received generous donations of amazing fabric, and a bunch of "what do we do with THIS?" fabrics. We learned pretty fast how to politely turn down the donations that really didn't fit. Our first amazing donations came from Mirage Framing in Santa Ana, CA, bb dakota (became Steve Madden), Lucy Max Children's Boutique in Laguna Beach, and our beloved, Hoffman Fabrics. Within the first week, we had to secure donations to cover the cost of a 10 x 10 storage unit and shelving to organize it all. Following that, anyone with scraps wanted to donate them to us, but it didn't all work great for binkies. We bartered for cottons, flannels, and fleece and gave away the sheers, drapery fabric, upholstery fabrics, double knits, and wools. Join us for this episode, "It's OK to say, "No." to free fabric on All-volunteer, All Heart from Binky Patrol. Learn more about Binky Patrol at https://binkypatrol.org.

Open the Door to Jesus Christ! Vicar Fr. Wismick is from Haiti and expressed his deepest thankfulness to the pilgrims and regular attendees of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Island for their generosity. Generosity to not only the people of Haiti, and the Company of Mary in Haiti, but to the Company of Mary worldwide. We also wish to thank Queen of All Heart's members for their generosity, both spiritually through their prayers, and financially. During the Mass that was attended recently by the Vicar and the Superior General of the Company of Mary, cards were made available of the scene “Open the Door to Jesus Christ”! The National Director of Queen of All Hearts explains the significance of Fr. de Montfort actions one night long ago. Listen to the story of Open the Door to Jesus . . . and meditate on it. The audio itself is less than three minutes in length, but a very worthwhile story to gain insights on the man who would become a saint. The audio mentions a hymn from St. Louis de Montfort. That would be Hymn #14 for those that have The Hymns of St. Louis de Montfort book. Thank you again for being members of Queen of All Hearts . . . and for your continued spiritual support to the Company of Mary.

On the 38th episode of All Heart with Paul Cardall, former atheist and cold case expert Jay Warner Wallace shares his experience as a homicide detective investigating the evidence for Jesus of Nazareth outside of the Bible and inside the text of the Bible. Jim, a popular Christian who uses forensic apologetics believes there are many different versions of the victim (Jesus). He explains how he was able to use his expertise to unveil the true Jesus reported in the Bible and historians. Using a term he coined as "cold case christianity" Jim discusses how to get results long after witnesses are gone. Having a large Mormon family, Jim began investigating Mormonism as part of his journey from being an atheist to a believing Christian who would later have a christian worldview. Using his experience he discovered Mormon founder Joseph Smith was not a prophet and The Book of Mormon does not meet the forensic test of truth. All Heart host Paul, a former Mormon, also with a Christian worldview shares his personal insight into learning the differences in the doctrine of grace. Jay reveals why the doctrine of grace is important in knowing the victim that was crucified and said to come back to life. Jesus spent 40 days with disciples teaching them the doctrine they needed to know to establish the Lord's church. GUEST: J. Warner Wallace, Homicide Detective, Christian Apologist HOST: Paul Cardall, Dove Award Winning Musician / Producer J. WARNER WALLACE J. He eventually earned a Master's Degree in Theological Studies from Gateway Seminary. J. Warner's professional investigative work has received national recognition; his cases have been featured more than any other detective on NBC's Dateline, and his work has also appeared on CourtTV and Fox News. He would spend virtually all of his life in and out of hospitals and recovering from surgeries. He received a heart transplant in 2009. Living with congenital heart disease has helped Paul understand the trauma imposed, particularly on a young person and their families. Cardall has made it his life's mission to create and share piano music that is healing both physically and emotionally. Two of the many projects he's involved with include partnering with the The Ryan Seacrest Foundation to donate keyboards to children's hospitals nationwide. Cardall has established scholarships for students affected by medical bills associated with congenital heart disease because he believes in getting an education regardless of terminal diagnosis.Earlier this year Cardall released a music project titled The Broken Miracle, featuring special guests including David Archuleta, Tyler Glenn (Neon Trees), Ty Herndon, Rachel Yamagata, Thompson Square, Matt Hammitt and many others. The Broken Miracle album chronicles his life dealing with congenital heart disease, through his transplant 12 years ago.The pianist recently released two unique versions of his much-anticipated upcoming instrumental project December. Both versions of the album feature 14 tracks in a minimalist classical style, and all are original compositions by Cardall, with the exception of “Hush, Little Baby.” The pianist takes listeners on a journey from the rise of a new moon in September through the New Year. All Heart with Paul Cardall is sponsored by doTERRA, whose products are designed to offer hope and healing.
