In times of crisis, God wants us to trust Him. Before His crucifixion, Jesus prepared his disciples for life after His departure. They were about to experience a severe shock to their psyche. He told them, "Don't let your heart be troubled..." (John 14:1). Amid the current pandemic, He wants us to trust Him, not panic. We should take all the necessary precautions. Self-isolation doesn't mean a lack of faith. It means you are being considerate.Have a blessed week.
Usually, people get shutdown with God said this; the Holy Spirit said that. They don't feel they have the space to scrutinise what is said to them. Some believers have even gone as far as getting married based on one party's revelation from the Lord. This is risky.Asking questions isn't wrong. The early apostles gave us checks and balances to keep us safe.
Would you be willing to go with the truth? Sometimes we let the opinions of others get in the way of God's word. Once He opens your eyes, the Father wants you to walk in the light revealed. It might be uncomfortable. You might have to walk alone. But go with the Word. God with the Father.------------Website - www.higherlifechristiancentre.org.ukwww.embracinglifeinchrist.com-------------Email: pastor@higherlifechristiancentre.org.ukInstagram: pastor_olua
Jesus told us to beware of false prophets (Matthew 7:15). It is an issue we seldom like to highlight. But in an atmosphere where many self-proclaimed prophets flourish, we need to heed the words of our Saviour. We can't afford to be gullible. We must test the source. We must examine those who dish out prophetic words and claim to work miracles (1 John 4:1).----------------------www.higherlifechristiancentre.org.ukwww.embracinglifeinchrist.com--------------------pastor@higherlifechristiancentre.org.uk--------------------Don't forget to Follow, Share, Like & Subscribe.
The challenges we face can, indeed drive us towards the Father. We might not start out searching for Him. But somehow He orchestrates events to bring us to the knowledge of the truth. We must be aware of the fact that God is not the source of every supernatural experience - Acts 16:16-21.----www.higherlifechristiancentre.org.ukwww.embracinglifeinchrist.org.uk
It is easy to be deceived by miracles, signs and wonders. In times of desperation, people are usually open to all kinds of spiritual experiences. We must be cautious. Why? Because God is not the source of all spiritual experiences.Preached on 26.01.2020www.higherlifechristiancentre.org.ukwww.embracinglifeinchrist.com_______________________________Email: pastor@higherlifechristiancentre.org.uk
What is your focus? Christ? Or the things you can get from Him? Our Heavenly Father wants us to know Him. He wants us to move beyond running after miracles and the spectacular. There is no substitute for knowing Him. Don't let the bells and whistles distract you.Preached on 19.01.2019 www.higherlifechristiancentre.org.uk
There are many things we allow into our lives that stop us from growing in Christ. We need to weed them out, so that we can be the people God wants us to be.Live Sermon @ HLCC 12.05.2020www.higherlifechristiancentre.org.ukpastor@higherlifechristiancentre.org.uk
Sermon preached on 05.01.2020.Old and New Testament saints never saw themselves alone in their struggles. Even when things suddenly sprung up, their default position was God. Christians are not excluded from the trials of life. But our Heavenly Father expects us to rejoice in Him regardless. When it comes to getting married, does our loyalty to Christ matter? Life can be complicated. It is better not to complicate it further.
It is okay to be uncertain sometimes. We should plan. But not everything goes according to plan. As believers, we don't control tomorrow. Our Faith is in the One who does.Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Have a wonderful week.Download, Listen & Share
This is the second part of ‘Bless and Do Not Curse.’ Please listen to episode 15 if you haven’t.Paul’s authority was challenged in Corinth. The believers cosied up to false teachers who turned them against him. He was disrespected. But he never cursed them.Even when he was bragging about his ministry in comparison to the false apostles (2 Corinthians 11), winning them back for the Lord was at the forefront of his thinking. In our anger lets not seek to destroy those for whom Christ died.Have a blessed week.
If the Master says, we should love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). Why do some think it is okay to curse others when they fall out? We've been told to bless and not curse. It doesn't mean people won't drive us up the wall. But we need to keep our emotions and tongues in check. Even when they curse us, we must refrain from doing the same.Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Have a great week
When it comes to presenting the gospel, we need to consider the best way to get the message across to the people we want to reach. There is nothing wrong with reaching them where they are. Paul did this at Mars Hill (Acts 17:22-31), while Peter went straight to the law and the prophets when he preached in Jerusalem at Pentecost (Acts 2). Methods differ, but the message remains the same and should not be compromised. We must repent of sin and turn to God to receive His gift of life (Acts 2:38).Have a fantastic weekend and a great week ahead.
A short discussion with Brother Less, on Ephesians 2:12, "In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope."In Christ, we are no longer without God. We are no longer without hope. We are no longer strangers to the Father's covenant promises. He has been gracious, even when we don't deserve it.Have a blessed weekend.
"...You don't love me or each other as you did at first!" Revelation 2:4 (NLT)Actions are great. But our Heavenly Father looks deep within. He looks at our hearts. He weighs every motive.Sometimes, we need to pause and reflect. Has my heart shifted? Do I still love Him as I use to? If we have gone cold, we need to go back and do the things we did at first.
The Psalmist says in Psalms 42:1-2 NLT, "As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?Do you yearn to build your relationship with your Heavenly Father? Paul wanted to know Him (Philippians 3:10). It was his passion. It should be our passion too.Live preaching. 1st Sunday of 2019. Happy New Year!
Our Heavenly Father wants us to trust him wholeheartedly with our daily lives. As believers, we have placed our trust in the finished work of Christ for salvation. Trusting the Father with the mundane aspects of life shouldn't be a big deal.Happy New Year in Advance, Catch you in 2019
When it comes to spiritual warfare, Paul the apostle told the church in Ephesus to stand, having done all to stand (Ephesians 6:13). He doesn’t want us to be passive in our approach. He wants us to engage our hearts and minds as we seek to walk in the freedom he has provided for us through Christ.Don’t outsource your growth. Don’t outsource your freedom.Have a blessed weekend. Have a wonderful Christmas.
The name of Jesus is not a magic fomular. Our right to pray in His name is based on our relationship with Him. Our authority in Christ is based on our relationship status with our Heavenly Father. Chanting just won't cut it.Have a wonderful weekend.
Some of us have been caught out in our quest for solutions to life's problems. We have to be cautious. We can't afford to open up to everything out there. Test. Examine. Weigh up what is said, before you act on it.Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. 1 John 4:1 (NLT)
When you surrendered to Christ something happened. You became a New Creation. Old things passed away, and all things became new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Do you believe this to be true? What we believe matters. It affects how we approach our spiritual struggles. Have a great weekend.
From time to time we all have spiritual struggles. Maybe you feel like a hamster on a wheel, going nowhere fast. You might feel lost at times, but know that your Heavenly Father is Greater than all and you are in His Hands. If this episode blesses you, feel free to let us know about it. Jesus healed 10 lepers, but only a despised foreigner came back to show appreciation to Christ. The rest didn't. The Samaritan's response to God's grace and mercy meant something to the Master, that's why he highlighted it. It is crucial we are appreciative of His Grace and Mercy. We have many reasons to be thankful
Jesus told the lepers to go and show themselves to the Priest (Luke 17:11-21). This was an incredible act of faith. Simple obedience makes a big difference. God wants us to trust Him. On the flip side, there is nothing wrong with going to your doctor to verify claims of healing. Have a great weekend!
Years ago, an old flatmate made me do some thinking. God is not a genie. He is presented that way at times, and people usually get disillusioned with the disconnect. There has got to be a lot more.Excuse the croaky voice; I was recovering from a cold when recording.
The early Apostles where used mightly, but they never took credit. They were conscious of the fact that credit belongs to Christ Jesus for what He did through them. We must do the same today.
