In this compelling sermon, Pastor Karl dives into Matthew Chapters 3 and part of 4, introducing John the Baptist and the launch of Jesus' public ministry. He explores the radical call to repentance as forward-facing surrender, the humble wilderness ministry of John—clothed in camel hair and heralding the coming Messiah—and the dramatic baptism where heaven breaks open with the Trinity on full display. Pastor Karl then examines Jesus' temptation in the wilderness, revealing how Satan attacks God's provision, protection, and promises, and how Jesus defeats every lie with Scripture alone. He emphasizes that repentance is not a one-time event but a lifestyle that prepares the way for the kingdom, that true faith bears fruit, and that heaven meets obedience with strength. Join us for a powerful message that calls every believer to repent, resist the devil, and trust God's Word in every trial. Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

On today's episode of Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, we're taking a hard look at Taylor Swift's new pornographic-themed album cover, The Life of a Showgirl. From the drinking and partying she parades as normal to her descent into porn culture, Swift has become a dangerous influence on young girls—and really, on everyone. We'll also address the cult-like following surrounding her, and why parents have a biblical responsibility to guard their children from this idolatry and from being exposed to Taylor Swift's sinful pornographic example. Darkness must be exposed, and the Word of God gives us the standard by which to measure it. We will also discuss how disgusting it is to excuse sin by simply labeling it “adult entertainment.” Unfriendly reminder: Civilization is currently collapsing. Let's actually do something about it?--https://www.thebrandsunday.com/

(This podcast was previously recorded and published on May 19, 2020)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...    As soon as we recognize the religious idols, we turn to God from those idols to serve the "living and true" God, just as the believers did in the day of the apostle Paul.   Paul wrote of this in I Thessalonians 1:9 "How ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God".   In the Old Testament, they built a golden calf to be their god in the days of Aaron. Moses ground that idol into dust and made the children of Israel drink it.   Jeroboam, king of Israel built 2 golden calves for the people of God to worship.   Today in the churches they set up ministers for the people to worship calling these men "Reverend", "Pope", and such ... and then they set up crosses of wood and stone for the people to bow down before. More idols.   They set up many false doctrines in churches today.   As soon as we see such, we also turn away from these idols of man and turn to God as the followers of Paul did.   *****    I Thessalonians 1  (Paul says)   6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost. 7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.   8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.   9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;    10 And to wait for His Son from heaven, whom HE raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.   (We who turn from these religious idols will be saved from the great tribulation by Jesus when HE comes to gather the church who worships God.)   ***   John 4:24   God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.   ***   I Thessalonians 5:21   Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.   ***   Psalm 111:9  HE (God) sent redemption unto HIS people: HE hath commanded HIS covenant for ever: holy and reverend is HIS name.   ***   Entire church groups have fallen away from Bible to worship other doctrines and have set up many things in the churches which were authored by man and not by God.   As they set up golden calf in the Old Testament, also they set up things to make the people feel spiritual without following the Spirit of God.   This is the counterfeit church.   * They call themselves names not in the Bible, such as "Reverend." * They dress their ministers in special garments of clothing, not in New Testament. * They cross themselves thinking to bless themselves, not in New Testament. * They light candles at church gathers for religious purposes, not in New Testament. * They set up water which they call "Holy Water", not in New Testament. * They bow down before graven images to recite words. * They wear around their neck crosses and medallions, not told to do this in Bible. * They discard portions of scripture and teach perverse doctrines to their church groups.   By all this the man of lawlessness, antichrist, reigns in today's church groups.   Paul told us antichrist would be in the church groups before Jesus returns.   II Thessalonians 2   3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (of the Lord) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (antichrist)   4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.   (Churches would fall away from portions of scripture.)    ***   What we are seeing today in church groups is the end time apostasy.   I Timothy 4   1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;   2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;   3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.   The Catholic church are examples of this as they forbid their ministers to marry and as they command their people to abstain from the eating of meat on Fridays.  They follow seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.   ***   II Timothy 3   (the apostle Paul says)   1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.   2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,   3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;    (Paul shows by verse 5, this would happen in the church groups of the last days.)   5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.   (They deny the power of certain scripture to rule today in the church as they set up doctrine opposite from the scripture.)   6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,   7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.   13 Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.   ***   Jesus said concerning the sign of the end time:   Matthew 24:4-5    Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.   They come saying they are Christians.  They say "Jesus is Lord".  But they do not show that they follow the Spirit of God.   Romans 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.   ***   Jude   3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.   4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.   (While they say "Jesus is Lord", they show that the Word does not rule over themselves, therefore their actions deny Jesus as Lord.)   12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear:  (They show no fear of Bible and they change doctrines from Bible to suit themselves) clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;    They attract other ungodly men to their doctrines as they approve sin in the church itself.   13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.   They copy other persons who seem religious, thus they are mockers, copiers, having not the Spirit.   16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.   17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;   18 How that they told you there should be mockers (copiers) in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.   19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.   The ministers of these groups are like well trained performers on a stage and by their own flesh they draw to themselves others who are fleshly ... but they seek their own ways and do things to cause people to admire themselves and speak perverse doctrines.   The apostle Paul  told us this would happen in the church.   Acts 20   (Paul speaking to the elders of the church at Ephesus)   29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.   30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.   ***   Peter also warned us about the false teachers of the end times.   II Peter 2   1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.   2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.   3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you:   14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:   15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;   17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.   18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.   They entice men through clever words of their own flesh.  But their words have no real power though they promise power.  Their words entice the flesh of men.  And they draw large crowds to themselves because they do not speak of sin but they speak of approval. Therefore there is no repentance from sin in their churches.   ***   The apostle John said there were many antichrists trying to get into the church groups.   I John 2   18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.   19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.   They came among the real church but then they left ... They set up their own churches where they could present their own doctrines after the lives of Paul and the real apostles of Christ.  (Acts 20)   So today we have all these denominations set up by man.   But according to Paul, this had to happen to the churches before Jesus returns ... the apostasy, the falling away from doctrine, before the great tribulation.   ***   Luke 20:46-47   Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;  Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.    Matthew 23:15  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.    27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.    28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.    ***   I Corinthians 14:39   Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.   ***   1 Corinthians 7:10-11  And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:  But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.   Mark 10:11-12 And HE saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.   And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.   ***   Ephesians 4:11-13   And HE (Jesus) gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:   Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:   ***   I Corinthians 2:1-5  And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.   2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and HIM crucified.   3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.   4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:   5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Be Bold & Turn To God (Be Bold Series)Psalm 138:7-8 “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand, you save me. The Lord will vindicate me; your love, Lord, endures forever—do not abandon the works of your hands. When I read this passage, I got the picture of a football player holding the ball in his right hand, with his body turned away from the opposing player and his other hand out to block.  However, instead of being a football player, it is God.  He has His right arm around me, shielding me from danger, and His left hand out to shield me from the anger of my enemies.  To me, this is a beautiful image.  I am so thankful that I know that God is out there protecting me.  I have heard some incredible stories of this protection.  I think that sometimes we can think that God can protect us from things by helping us avoid them or making sure we are in the right place at the right time.  And He does do this.  However, He can also protect you from danger at the moment as well.  The verse above starts with the statement, “You preserve my life.”  I would like to tell you a story that is an excellent example of this.  The story is from the book “How To Live Like A King's Kid."  by Harold Hill.  If you have not read this book, I can't recommend it enough.  It is so good and will definitely boost your faith. Here is a short excerpt of how God can save you from real physical danger at the moment.  “Recently, I was driving down a divided highway to a meeting. The dividing strip was maybe 20 feet wide. Suddenly, a car coming from the other direction, going about 70, the same speed I was traveling, started to cross the strip. It was headed straight for me. A 140 mph impact was in the making, with me in the middle.  Mincemeat.I was glad I didn't have to wait to get into the high gear of praise and Thanksgiving because I wouldn't have had time. It all happened so fast. Walking in the light has to do with all circuits being tuned up by praise and Thanksgiving all the time – in everything, giving thanks for everything. I have been walking in the light all day. So I thanked God and prayed in the spirit for the people in the other car all in the same breath, realizing it could be my last one. But I was singing the songs of Zion, knowing that King's kids don't have to graduate on Satan's terms. The car hurtling at me was less than 20 yards away when suddenly it shot straight up in the air and turned upside down. It was a convertible, the top was down, and people flew in all directions. Then, the car crashed flat right alongside me."Lord, do you want me to stop?" I asked him then. “No. Don't stop. You intercede,” was is the message I got. In my rearview mirror, I could see other cars and trucks stopping. They wouldn't need my physical presence there, but God needed me to be an intercessor.  And so I kept on praying, praising God, praying in tongues. I was aware of raw power, rivers of living water, flowing from my innermost being directly to the throne of grace as I interceded in the spirit. Before I was half a mile down the road, I had God's assurance that he had taken care of everything, and I went to my meeting satisfied. That was Friday. On Sunday morning, I was invited to speak at the Kent Island Methodist church near where the accident occurred. I shared my experience from the pulpit and said that if anyone present knew the outcome of the accident, I'd like to hear about it. I knew something good had taken place. Sure enough, three people came to me at the church door after the service and said they were at the scene just a few minutes after the accident happened because they lived close by. The car had blown a tire, going at high speed, and had gotten completely out of control. The people in the convertible had fallen clear of the car, and everyone had walked away from the accident! The car was demolished, but no person was injured. It was a miracle.A car coming straight at you on a level Road does not suddenly jump straight up in the air. From straight forward motion to vertical motion is impossible unless you hit something curved to change the course. And that's what happened in that accident. The car's course was changed when it hit a curved surface – the curved circle of light that prevented darkness from entering to annihilate a king's kid.  There were millions of foot-pounds of energy involved, but that's nothing for an angel of the Lord. Hallelujah! When we call upon the king, he works supernaturally to deliver us from trouble.”I always get emotional when I hear stories like this because I am reminded of how much God loves us and that He will go to any lengths to save us.  I also get emotional because of how touching it is.  These people all seemed to be headed for death.  Their lives could have been over in an instant.  And they weren't.  Satan meant for that tire to go out and for the situation to end badly.  If Satan had gotten his way, those people would have died.  You and I don't know the state of their souls, but even if they went to heaven, what about the effects of their deaths on those still living?  Unexpected death of a loved one often brings with it anger.  It can cause some to question God and why He would let such an awful thing happen.  Some people get angry with God and they don't let it go.  However, it says in Genesis 50:20, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”  God takes Satan's plan for evil and uses it for good.  Harold Hill has sold over 1,000,000 copies of his book.  He has also probably told that story to thousands of people or more.  Instead of this story ending in tragedy, it is a story that has probably given people faith that they did not have before and definitely strengthened the faith of those who were already believers.  How incredible is that?  Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that you bless all those listening to this episode today.  Lord, we thank you for your protection.  We thank you for all the miracles you make happen every single day, the big and the small ones.  Lord, we thank you for all the times you protected us from something that we didn't even know about.  Lord, we ask that you help us learn to make a habit of praising you so that if we are in a situation like Harold was, we will be prepared.  We love you, Lord, and we ask all of this in accordance with your will and in Jesus' holy name, Amen.Thank you so much for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus! I look forward to meeting you here again tomorrow. Remember, Jesus loves you just as you are, and so do I! The book of Zephaniah is a small book in the Old Testament that we often might overlook. While this was a prophecy given to the children of Israel at the time and a warning given to them by the prophet Zephaniah, this message is still applicable to us today. Zephaniah was bold to call out the Israelites for their idol worship. If they don't return to God, Zephaniah lets them know the consequences if they don't turn to God. Zephaniah called them out, warned them, but He also calls God's children higher. We have to stop apologizing for raising the standard. It's not our opinion but what God's Word commands us to do. We are a reflection of God's redeeming glory. Does our lifestyle show that? Zephaniah reminds them of what victory looks like if they will just turn back to God. God loves us enough that he gave us victory over His judgment through Jesus. We just have to boldly return back to God. Today on Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, we're discussing Kanye West's latest internet meltdown and what it reveals about the state of our unfortunate over-sexualized and depraved culture. From celebrity chaos to societal decay, it's clear—without God, the world spirals into total confusion and sin. We're breaking down the bigger picture and talking about why it's time to turn away from worldliness/wickedness and the dysfunction of degeneracy and back to the truth and love of Christ. Jesus is the only sane way forward, ladies and gentlemen.--https://www.thebrandsunday.com/products/the-bible-study-copy?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=tbs_thebiblestudy_searchads-nixwdmd&tw_source=google&tw_adid=608801073541&tw_campaign=17672311083&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAC-_2dRN1WU6lhTaWFNApFgzBkVe_&gclid=CjwKCAiAwaG9BhAREiwAdhv6Y_Xc6w4LM7_4otTu1-XgzYjKKwhwbNBCdqLFVTDdXToND7Rt6JU2hBoC3hsQAvD_BwE

Losing Hope? Turn to God: Tamron Hall & LaRae Quy

Content warning: This episode contains mature content and may not be suitable for all listeners. When we face darkness in our lives that threatens to overwhelm us, it can feel like it's harder and harder to find any light. But in Hebrews 6:19, it says “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” That anchor is Jesus—and He is waiting to hear our cares and concerns, and is present to be that Rock we can cling to in every trial we encounter.  This week, our guests talk about how they turned to Jesus when they started to lose hope in humanity. Talk show host and author Tamron Hall had periods in her life where her job took a toll on her mental health, and when she asked God to help her see the good in humanity again, she was able to find a renewed passion for helping others. LaRae Quy, a former FBI agent and spokesperson, faced the harsher side of humanity during her twenty years as an undercover and counterintelligence agent. Hearkening back to the lessons of patience and perseverance she learned growing up on a Wyoming ranch, she reached out to God to bring peace to her mind, which was haunted by the hurts she had seen perpetrated on so many victims in the cases she covered.  Links, Products, and Resources Mentioned: Jesus Calling Podcast Jesus Calling Jesus Always Jesus Listens Past interview: Jay Hewitt Upcoming interview: Dansby Swanson Hebrews 6:19 NIV Thank you to our sponsors: www.give.cru.org | BetterHelp.com/JesusCalling   Tamron Hall  Jordan Manning series Watch Where They Hide Deadline Crime Exodus www.tamronhallshow.com   LaRae Quy Romans 5:3 NIV www.laeraequy.com   Interview Quotes: “There's no school that can prepare you for a parent handing you the kindergarten photo of their child who's just been found dead and looking to you for comfort, but also believe that you are going to care for them while telling their story and not use it as an opportunity just to get people to watch TV.” - Tamron Hall “I lost my dream job before the public nationally, but I knew it was in God's hands, and I knew that I didn't need to do anything other than find peace with it and find my lane.” - Tamron Hall  “The win is in the loss. Faith is in the challenge. The uncertainty is supposed to bolster the faith and the belief that it is going to happen in God's time.” - Tamron Hall “When I'm on set, before I walk out of the doors of the show, I ask God to guide me in my words and let me be a comfort if I need to be that for someone, allow me to bring a smile to someone's face if that's what they need.” - Tamron Hall  “God opened the door and I have no doubt it was the right path for me, because the values of the FBI closely aligned with the values I developed on that Wyoming ranch.” - LaRae Quy  “We need to have faith in something. We need to find value somewhere. It's how we psychologically survive and thrive.” - LaRae Quy “Through prayer and self-awareness, we get to the truth of who we really are, and the journey of self-discovery can be hard because we're asked to look at the good, the bad, and the ugly. It doesn't do any good to try to hide all of that from God, because God knows us better than we know ourselves.” - LaRae Quy “Anytime we connect with God, it brings hope back into our lives. Without hope, we cannot be brave.” - LaRae Quy  ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel!
