Today on Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, we're discussing Kanye West's latest internet meltdown and what it reveals about the state of our unfortunate over-sexualized and depraved culture. From celebrity chaos to societal decay, it's clear—without God, the world spirals into total confusion and sin. We're breaking down the bigger picture and talking about why it's time to turn away from worldliness/wickedness and the dysfunction of degeneracy and back to the truth and love of Christ. Jesus is the only sane way forward, ladies and gentlemen.--https://www.thebrandsunday.com/products/the-bible-study-copy?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=tbs_thebiblestudy_searchads-nixwdmd&tw_source=google&tw_adid=608801073541&tw_campaign=17672311083&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAC-_2dRN1WU6lhTaWFNApFgzBkVe_&gclid=CjwKCAiAwaG9BhAREiwAdhv6Y_Xc6w4LM7_4otTu1-XgzYjKKwhwbNBCdqLFVTDdXToND7Rt6JU2hBoC3hsQAvD_BwE

Everyone and everything feels the brokenness caused by sin. Sometimes we are broken by our sins or by the sins of others. In our brokenness, we need restoration. Psalm 85 is a prayer for restoration. After experiencing decline and distance from God, Israel asks for renewal and revival, "Restore us, O God!" It's a Psalm filled with hope and help for all of us who feel the brokenness of sin.

It can be hard to believe that you were a wandering sheep with no intention whatsoever of listening to the Shepherd. We often like to think we had a certain kind of spiritual potential or something that caused us to baa, baa, baa all the way to Jesus. But, we were spiritual wanderers who were pursued by a good Shepherd who picked us up and carried us home to the joy of all in heaven.
Content warning: This episode contains mature content and may not be suitable for all listeners. When we face darkness in our lives that threatens to overwhelm us, it can feel like it's harder and harder to find any light. But in Hebrews 6:19, it says “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” That anchor is Jesus—and He is waiting to hear our cares and concerns, and is present to be that Rock we can cling to in every trial we encounter. This week, our guests talk about how they turned to Jesus when they started to lose hope in humanity. Talk show host and author Tamron Hall had periods in her life where her job took a toll on her mental health, and when she asked God to help her see the good in humanity again, she was able to find a renewed passion for helping others. LaRae Quy, a former FBI agent and spokesperson, faced the harsher side of humanity during her twenty years as an undercover and counterintelligence agent. Hearkening back to the lessons of patience and perseverance she learned growing up on a Wyoming ranch, she reached out to God to bring peace to her mind, which was haunted by the hurts she had seen perpetrated on so many victims in the cases she covered. Faith is in the challenge. The uncertainty is supposed to bolster the faith and the belief that it is going to happen in God's time.” - Tamron Hall “When I'm on set, before I walk out of the doors of the show, I ask God to guide me in my words and let me be a comfort if I need to be that for someone, allow me to bring a smile to someone's face if that's what they need.” - Tamron Hall “God opened the door and I have no doubt it was the right path for me, because the values of the FBI closely aligned with the values I developed on that Wyoming ranch.” - LaRae Quy “We need to have faith in something. We need to find value somewhere. It's how we psychologically survive and thrive.” - LaRae Quy “Through prayer and self-awareness, we get to the truth of who we really are, and the journey of self-discovery can be hard because we're asked to look at the good, the bad, and the ugly. It doesn't do any good to try to hide all of that from God, because God knows us better than we know ourselves.” - LaRae Quy “Anytime we connect with God, it brings hope back into our lives. Without hope, we cannot be brave.” - LaRae Quy ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel! David makes a shift. He was on the run escaping the threats of king Saul, David found himself living among the Philistines, about the fight in a War against his own people, the Israelites. David is rejected by the commanders on the basis of him being a Hebrew. He was sent back home. And when David comes upon his hometown, he sees a crisis. He makes a shift, he returns back to The Lord, and began to process and do things God's Way.

It feels like we're constantly being bombarded left, right and center by messages telling us we should be able to heal our bodies and help ourselves through positive thinking, manifesting and that the power is all from within. While I definitely feel we need to be active participants in our own wellness journeys, I also think that believing we can or should be able to do it all on our own is dangerous and will most likely lead to more shame and confusion. Listen in as I share insight from Isaiah 1:5+6, as well as my own journey with learning to entrust YOU (the listener :D) to God with your own healing journey. In this devotion, the speaker discusses the concept of repentance as a key message of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ, primarily referencing Matthew Chapter 3, and further touching on other scriptures. The sermon emphasizes the importance of repentance in salvation, outlining its meaning not just as regret, but a transformative change in mindset and behavior. Eventually, the speaker expresses concern about insincere repentance in church goers and concludes with a strong emphasis on authentic, voluntary repentance. 00:00 Introduction and Greetings 00:27 The Song of Redemption 01:12 Purpose of the Devotions 01:45 Introduction to John the Baptist 03:14 John's Message of Repentance 03:52 The Importance of Remembering the Message 05:56 The Meaning of Repentance 07:29 The Misconceptions about Repentance 08:19 The Voluntary and Sincere Nature of Repentance 08:36 The Danger of Forced Repentance 09:46 The Call to Repentance in Ezekiel 10:57 Closing Remarks and Prayer --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gnbc/message
So we're on a canoe trip with others and it gets a little crazy..
Are you stressed right now? It's easy for us to feel all the expectations from other people and, if we are honest with ourselves, the expectations we place on others to meet our needs this time of the year. However, the most important thing I have learned about stress is that it comes down to perception. What story do I tell myself every year around this time? Do I look at everything I have to do as a chore or as something I get to do? Do I look at this time of the year as a place of discontentment? It's okay where you land at this time of the year. It's hard in general, and then you add in family trauma and history with unhealthy people, and it seems like too much. But what if we could also find a more simple rhythm in our day even when stress feels high? What if we could find a way to keep our nervous system from being overloaded or heightened day in and day out? In this episode, I share practical techniques you can use to help you ground yourself with the help of God and practice silence and solitude in the times you need it most.
