    The Account with Purity

Devotional: The Account with Purity Scripture Reading: Matthew 15:18-20 (KJV) "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man." Today, we're going to talk about something Jesus taught His disciples. He said that it's not what we eat or touch that makes us impure, but what comes out of our hearts. This means our thoughts, words, and actions show what's really in our hearts. Jesus tells us that things like bad thoughts, lies, and unkind words come from our hearts. Even if we try to be good on the outside, what's inside our hearts is what really matters. So, how can we make sure our hearts are pure and pleasing to God? We can't make our hearts pure by ourselves. We need Jesus to help us. When we invite Jesus into our lives, He helps us clean our hearts. He shows us how to love others, be kind, and think good thoughts. Pray: Talk to Jesus every day. Ask Him to help you have a pure heart. Read the Bible: Learn from Jesus' words and follow His teachings. Listen to the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit helps us make good choices and fills our hearts with love and kindness. Imagine you have a cup of water. If the water is dirty, you can't drink it, right? But if someone cleans the cup and fills it with fresh water, it's good to drink. Our hearts are like that cup. Jesus can clean our hearts and fill them with His love, making us pure. Let's pray together: "Dear Jesus, thank You for teaching us about our hearts. Please come into our hearts and make them pure. Help us to think good thoughts, speak kind words, and do good deeds. We want to follow You and show Your love to everyone. Thank You for always being with us and helping us. In Jesus' name, Amen." --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday0/support

    True Righteousness

Devotional: True Righteousness Scripture: "Except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 5:20 (KJV) Have you ever thought about what it means to be truly good? Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:20 that our righteousness must go beyond that of the scribes and Pharisees. But what does that mean? The Pharisees were known for strictly following religious laws. They did many good things, but Jesus said that wasn't enough. He wants us to understand that true righteousness isn't just about what we do on the outside, but who we are on the inside. Imagine a tree with beautiful leaves and fruit. It looks healthy and strong. But if its roots are weak or rotten, the tree won't last. Our lives are like that tree. We can do good things, but if our hearts and motives aren't pure, we're missing the point. Jesus came to give us a new way of being. He offers us His grace to change us from the inside out. When we accept Him, He changes our hearts, making our motives pure and our actions truly good. Think about your motives. Why do you do the things you do? Are you trying to look good in front of others, or are you doing things because your heart is right with God? Pray and ask Jesus to help you be pure in your thoughts and actions. Let His grace transform you so that your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees. Remember, it's not just about following rules but being truly good from the inside out. Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for Your grace that changes us. Help me to have pure motives and a pure heart. Transform me from the inside out so that my righteousness exceeds that of the Pharisees. Amen. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday0/support

Will YOU lay down your life for HIM

Title: "Will You Lay Down Your Life?" Devotional: Hey there, friends! Welcome to another episode of "My Best - For Him - Today." I'm Mickey Crews, your guide to practical Christ-centered living. Today, our theme is all about a powerful question: "Will you lay down your life?" In the Bible, John 15:13 tells us, "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." It's a big statement, and it brings to mind Peter's bold declaration in John 13:37 when he said to the Lord, "I will lay down my life for your sake." Peter had a real sense of heroism, a readiness for something grand. But here's the twist: Jesus didn't ask us to physically die for Him, but rather to lay down our lives for Him in our daily choices and actions. It's a day-in, day-out commitment to live in accordance with the high calling of God. Our duty is best realized through our sense of heroism. Think about it—has the Lord ever asked you, "Will you lay down your life for My sake?" It's a challenging question, and in John 13:38, Jesus foretells Peter's denial, showing that the journey of laying down our lives is not always easy. Jesus, for 33 years, laid down His life by doing the will of His Father. He had one bright shining moment on the mount of transfiguration, but then He came down into the challenges of everyday life. In Mark 9:1-29, we see that even in the demon-possessed valley, Jesus continued to lay down His life. We, too, are called to lay down our lives for others. 1 John 3:16 says, "By this we know love because He laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." It's contrary to our human nature, but as friends of Jesus, we must deliberately and carefully lay down our lives for Him. Salvation is a gift, but exhibiting it in our lives is where the challenge lies. God saves us, fills us with the Holy Ghost, and then says, "Now, work it out in your life. Be faithful to Me, even when everything around you tempts you to be unfaithful." So, my friends, as Jesus calls us friends, let's remain faithful to Him. Remember, our actions reflect His honor in our everyday lives. Will you lay down your life? It's a question worth pondering as we navigate our faith journey. Thanks for tuning in to "My Best - For Him - Today." Until next time, stay blessed and keep laying down your life for the One who laid down His life for you. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/support

"Follow me," He invites (Luke 18:22). Where our wants fade and devoted surrender thrives. One big stopper to coming to Jesus is using our own likes as an excuse. We often let our personality and wants get in the way of Jesus. But when we do get to Jesus, we see He doesn't care about what we naturally want. We might think we can give our skills to God, but you can't give what you don't own. There's only one thing you can truly give to God—your claim to yourself (see Romans 12:1). If you give God your claim to yourself, He'll do something special with you, and His special things always work out. The sign of a saint of God is the creativity that comes from fully giving to Jesus. In the life of a saint, there's a special wellspring, a never-ending Source of fresh life. The Spirit of God is a always-flowing Well, always fresh. A saint knows it's God who plans their life; so, there's no complaining, only giving in to Jesus. Don't try to make your experience a rule for others. Let God be just as creative with others as He is with you. If you give up everything for Jesus, and go when He says, "Come," then He will keep saying, "Come," through you. You'll go out into the world and sound like Christ's "Come." That's what happens to every soul that gives up everything and comes to Jesus. Have I really come to Him? Will I come now? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/support

In John 1:38-39, they asked Jesus where he was staying, and he invited them to come and see.  Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour. Sometimes we get caught up in our own interests, but when we spend time with Jesus, our true interests awaken. Just staying with Him for a short time isn't enough; we often go back to our own concerns. However, we can stay connected to Jesus no matter our life circumstances. In John 1:42, Simon's name was changed to Cephas. Our new name is written where our pride and self-interest have been erased. True disciples have their old ways replaced with selflessness. Pride is like making ourselves our own god. We can fall into this trap without realizing it, just like the Pharisee and the tax collector in Luke 18:9-14. Humility is important; those who humble themselves are exalted. Saying, "I'm no saint," can be a form of human pride. It's like doubting God's ability to transfor m us. God can make us saints through His grace. Jesus and the Father will make their home with us if we love and follow Him (John 14:23). Don't put conditions on your relationship with Jesus. Let Him be your everything, and you'll find eternal connection with Him. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/support

I can right now the question that truly matter in life. Are remarkably few, and they are all answered. By these words. “Come to me” Our Lords words are not “Do this or don't do that” but “Come to Me.” If I. Will simply come to Jesus, my real life will be brought into harmony with my real desires. I will actually cease from sin and we'll find the song of the Lord beginning in my life.   Have you ever come to Jesus? Look at the stubbornness of your heart. You would rather do anything than this one simple childlike thing, ”Come to Me.” If you really want to experience ceasing from sin, you must come to Jesus.   Jesus Christ makes himself. The test to determine your genuineness. Look how he used the word come. At the most unexpected moments in your life, there is this whisper of the Lord, “Come to Me” And you are immediately drawn to Him. Personal contact with Jesus changes everything. Be “foolish” Enough to come and commit yourself to what He says. The attitude necessary for you to come to Him is one where your will has made the determination to let go of everything and deliberately commit it all to Him.   “And I will give you rest." That is, “I will sustain you, causing you to stand firm.” He is not saying, “ I will put you to bed, hold your hand, and sing you to sleep.” But in essence he is saying, “I will get you. Out of bed, out of your listlessness and exhaustion, and out of your condition of being half dead while you are still alive, I will penetrate you with the spirit of life, and you will be sustained by the perfection of vital activity.” Yet we become so weak and pitiful and talk about “suffering” The will of the Lord! It can be hard to ask for help. Sometimes, we want things, and when we don't get them, it makes us sad. But we often wait until we really, really need something before we ask for it. Have you ever felt like this? Have you ever asked for something you really needed, like wisdom? The Bible says in James 1:5 that if you don't know what to do, you can ask God for help. But remember, you should really need help before you ask for it. You can't just ask for things all the time. It's like when you ask your parents for something. They give you good things, right? Well, God can give us good things too, like the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us understand what Jesus did for us. Here's something important: If you don't ask, you won't get. But that doesn't mean you won't get anything if you don't ask. God still gives good things to everyone. It's like how the sun shines for everyone, whether they're good or not. (Matthew 5:45) But when we ask God for help, it's like we're showing that we trust Him like a child trusts their parent. And when we understand that good things come from God, we start to appreciate them more. So, if you don't understand something or need help, don't be afraid to ask God. When we realize we need help, that's when we're really understanding how things work in our hearts and minds. Just like when you need something and you're not too proud to ask for it, it's okay to ask God for help too. It's like being poor in your heart, and Jesus said that's a good thing. If you don't free yourself, God might use storms to set you free. So, let everything in your life float on God's plan. Go out to sea on the big waves of His purpose. If you believe in Jesus, you're not meant to stay in the calm harbor all the time. You have to go beyond the harbor, deep into God's ways, and start understanding things on your own. You'll gain special insights. When you do something you know you should do, you learn more. Look back and see when you started feeling less excited about spiritual things. It usually goes back to not doing something you knew was right. Maybe you didn't do it because you didn't feel like it at the time. But now, you're not as clear-minded. When tough times come, you're not focused like you should be. It's risky to stop learning and knowing more. A pretend kind of obedience is when you act like you're sacrificing a lot and being really enthusiastic. But that's not the same as really understanding what's right. It's actually harder to follow your spiritual path than to just sacrifice things. Remember, it's better to know God's plan for you than to do big things but miss His point. Quoting from the Bible: "Obeying is better than just sacrificing." - Samuel 15:22 Don't go back to being what you were. God wants you to become something new. Unleashing the Ultimate Power: John 14:13 - "In My name, whatever you ask, I will do." Are we delving into the profound art of intercession that resides in the depths of our being? There's no peril of deception or pride when engaged in authentic intercession. This covert ministry bears fruit that glorifies the Father. Are we letting our spiritual vitality fade, or are we converging all aspects of life toward one focal point - the redemption by our Lord? Is the influence of Jesus Christ progressively permeating every facet of our existence? If the pivotal force shaping our lives is the Lord's redemption, every facet will yield fruit for Him. Yet, it requires a moment's pause to recognize this core wellspring of power. Can we spare a minute from each hour to focus on it? "If you abide in Me," meaning, if you act, think, and toil from this central core, "you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." (John 15:7). Are we truly abiding? Are we dedicating time to this abidance? What truly fuels the might within us? Is it our toil, service, or altruism for others? Or our labor for God's cause? It should be none of these. The supreme dynamism within us should emanate from the Lord's redemption. It's not the duration, but the dominance of influence that molds us. We must resolve to channel our desires and focus onto the Atonement through the Cross of Christ. "Whatever you ask in My name, I will do." The disciple who abides in Jesus embodies God's will, and what may seem like independent choices are, in reality, God's preordained decrees. Does this sound enigmatic? Does it defy logic or appear absurd? Yes, yet what a splendid truth it is for a devoted follower of God. Unveiling God's Work Within You: Embracing the Divine Will

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 10, 2023 4:13

Introduction: In the realm of spiritual growth, we encounter the profound wisdom of working out what God is at work within us. The words penned in Philippians 2:12-13, "Work out your own salvation, for it is God who works in you," echo with a timeless truth that urges us to understand the intricate interplay between our will and God's divine purpose.  Awakening the Will: As believers, we experience a harmonious resonance between our will and God's when our conscience is touched by His presence. This initial encounter awakens a responsive agreement within us. Reflecting on the life of Jesus, we discover an unwavering alignment between His will and His conscience, which serves as a guiding light for us.  Overcoming Inner Resistance: Yet, within the depths of our being, we encounter an opposing force. A force that sometimes hinders our willingness to obey—stubbornness. This stubbornness is incongruent with God's design and grace. The essence of a person lies in their will—a sacred gift from the Creator. Sin disrupted this harmony, but through rebirth, the source of our will is realigned with Almighty God.  Divine Partnership in Will and Action: God's role as the architect of our will is central to our understanding. In the words, "For it is God that works in you both to will and to do for his good pleasure," we recognize a divine partnership. It's not about striving to earn salvation, but rather about embracing the transformation that God initiates within us.  Working Out, Not Against: Our journey is about working out what God works in—cultivating the evidence of our unshakable faith in the redemption found in the Lord. This process doesn't involve conflicting wills, but rather aligning our will with God's. Our choices become second nature, flowing naturally in accordance with His divine purpose.  Breaking Barriers: Stubbornness, an unenlightened barrier, can impede this process. The solution lies in dismantling this barrier through obedience empowered by the Holy Spirit. Instead of letting stubbornness hinder us, we can utilize the dynamite of obedience to overcome it.  The Source of Will: A cornerstone belief emerges: God is the wellspring of our will. Not only does He expect us to follow His will, but His presence within us empowers us to do so. The intricate fusion of God's will and our own is an awe-inspiring manifestation of His work within us.  Conclusion: In the intricate dance between our will and God's divine purpose, we uncover a profound truth: the process of working out what God works in us. This journey isn't a solitary effort, but a collaboration with the Almighty—a harmonious symphony where our choices align naturally with His design. As we embrace this partnership, we tap into the transformative power of God's presence, ultimately allowing His will to become our own.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/support

Once upon a time in a small village, there was a 8-year-old girl named Izzy. She loved exploring nature and reading stories. One day, while wandering near an old oak tree, she found an ancient-looking book covered in dust. She dusted it off and opened it to find a special message written in fancy handwriting: "God will never leave you nor forsake you."     Izzy wasn't sure what it meant, so she decided to ask her wise dad for help.     "Dad," she said, showing him the book, "I found this message, but I don't quite understand it. Can you explain it to me?"     Her dad smiled and said, "Of course, my dear! This message means that God will always be there for you, no matter what happens in life."     Izzy was curious. "What do you mean, Dad? Will God help me when I'm scared or sad?"     "Yes, exactly," said Dad. "Whenever you feel afraid or alone, you can remember this message and know that God is right by your side, like a loyal friend who will always support and comfort you."     Izzy felt reassured by those words. "But Dad, what if things get tough, and I make mistakes?"     Her dad gave her a warm hug. "Even when things are tough, and you make mistakes, God will still be there, loving you and guiding you through it all. You don't have to be afraid."     As the days went by, Izzy kept the special message close to her heart. Whenever she faced challenges, she would repeat to herself, "God is with me. I am not alone." It gave her strength and courage to face whatever came her way.     Even on ordinary days when life seemed a bit dull or boring, Izzy found joy in knowing that God was always there, watching over her with love. She learned to appreciate the little moments, like the laughter of her friends or the beauty of a blooming flower, knowing that God was a part of all those moments too.     From then on, Izzy's days were filled with a sense of peace and happiness. She no longer worried about being alone or scared because she had a friend who would never leave her side – her never-forsaken God.     And so, dear friends, let this story be a reminder to you too: No matter how young or old you are, you are never alone. The Whispered Joys

In a quaint little town nestled amidst rolling hills, there lived a young man named Samuel. Samuel was known for his unwavering faith and deep connection with God. He spent much of his time meditating on scriptures, seeking wisdom, and finding solace in prayer.   One day, as Samuel sat by a glistening brook, he stumbled upon an ancient book hidden among the rocks. Curiosity getting the better of him, he opened it and found it to be a collection of verses from the Psalms, with one passage standing out to him - "The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him" (Psalm 25:14).   Intrigued by this mysterious verse, Samuel started contemplating its meaning. He believed that God, like a true friend, would share not only His sorrows but also His secret joys with those who were close to Him. Deeply touched by this thought, Samuel began to pray earnestly, asking God to reveal His secret joys to him.   From that moment on, Samuel felt an unusual sense of closeness with the Divine. He noticed tiny miracles and blessings that others overlooked. A blooming flower by the roadside, a warm ray of sunlight through the trees, a bird's sweet melody - every little joy seemed to be a whisper from God. Samuel felt as though he was catching glimpses of God's intimate presence in the smallest details of his life.   As he delved further into his faith, Samuel realized that God wanted more than just petitions and requests from His children. He longed for a profound, intimate relationship with each of them, guiding them in the direction of His purpose. Instead of constantly sharing his own worries and desires with God, Samuel learned to listen and attune his heart to God's will.   Samuel's newfound closeness with God did not go unnoticed. His peaceful demeanor and radiant joy were evident to those around him. People sought his counsel, feeling comforted by his unwavering trust in God's plan.   One day, a troubled young woman named Abigail approached Samuel. She had heard of his extraordinary relationship with the Divine and was drawn to seek solace in his wisdom. With tears in her eyes, she shared her deepest sorrows and struggles with Samuel.   Listening empathetically, Samuel gently consoled her and offered prayers for her healing. But he also did something that surprised Abigail. He shared some of the secret joys he had discovered through his intimate connection with God. He told her about the awe-inspiring beauty of the morning sky, the tender embrace of a loved one, and the overwhelming peace that comes from surrendering to God's will.   As Abigail left, she felt an inexplicable warmth in her heart. It was as if Samuel's words had ignited a spark of hope within her. She began to notice the little joys around her, just as Samuel had described. The dark clouds of despair gradually gave way to a glimmer of light.   Word of Samuel's gift spread like wildfire, and soon people from neighboring villages came seeking his guidance. Samuel continued to share his secret joys, inspiring hope and deepening the faith of all who listened.   As time passed, Samuel's intimate connection with God grew even stronger. He no longer needed to constantly question God's will, for he felt it resonate within him. Whenever he faced doubt, he paused, surrendered to God's guidance, and found clarity.   The town transformed under Samuel's influence. Love, compassion, and understanding spread like ripples across the community. Strangers became friends, enemies forgave each other, and the once-timid town bloomed with newfound life.   In the end, it wasn't Samuel's grand petitions that made him remarkable. It was his ability to catch the whispered joys of God and share them with others, igniting a chain reaction of love and hope. The secret of the Lord remained with those who feared Him, but through Samuel's example, the world came to know that these secrets were not hidden away but revealed through the hearts of those who sought a deep and intimate relationship with the God --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/support

    The Obsession with God's Presence

The Obsession with God's Presence Once upon a time, in a bustling city, there lived a young woman named Sarah. She was a devout Christian, striving to live a life that pleased God. However, Sarah found herself caught in the grip of an obsession—obsession with her own Christian experience. Every waking moment, she would ponder her actions, her thoughts, and her spiritual growth. While her intentions were noble, she had lost sight of what it truly meant to fear the Lord. One day, as Sarah sat in her quiet room, reflecting on her journey, she stumbled upon a verse from the Psalms: "Who is the man that fears the Lord?" (Psalm 25:12). Intrigued, she pondered the meaning behind those words. It was then that she realized her obsession with herself had hindered her from truly experiencing the presence of God. Determined to change her perspective, Sarah embarked on a spiritual quest—to become obsessed with God. She yearned for her entire being to be consumed by His presence, not merely her thoughts about Him. She longed for the abiding awareness of the Christian life to be rooted in God Himself. Like a child completely absorbed in the presence of their mother, Sarah desired to be so immersed in God's presence that everything in her life would be viewed through the lens of their relationship. She wanted to live, move, and have her being in Him (Acts 17:28). With this newfound revelation, Sarah understood why worrying was a sin. How could she be unbelieving when God was constantly surrounding her? As Sarah's obsession with God grew, she discovered that nothing else could penetrate her life. Concerns, tribulations, and worries were no match for the barricade she had built through her obsession with God. It was as if she dwelled in prosperity, even amidst the storms of life. The promise from the Psalms rang true: "He himself shall dwell in prosperity..." (Psalm 25:13). In the midst of tribulations, misunderstandings, and slander, Sarah found solace in her hidden life with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). She realized that she had been robbing herself of the miraculous truth of abiding companionship with God. He became her refuge, a shelter of protection that nothing could break through (Psalm 46:1). Word of Sarah's transformed life began to spread throughout the city. People marveled at the peace and joy radiating from her. Intrigued, they approached her, eager to understand the secret behind her transformation. Sarah would simply smile and share the story of her obsession with God's presence. Inspired by Sarah's example, many in the city started reevaluating their own lives. They too desired to be consumed by God's presence, to experience the fullness of His love and protection. Sarah's story became a timeless reminder of the power of obsession—when it is directed towards the divine. And so, the city began to witness a revival, as people traded their self-obsessions for an obsession with God. Lives were changed, families were restored, and the city became a beacon of light in a dark world. All because one young woman dared to let go of herself and become completely obsessed with the Creator. From that day forward, Sarah's story was told and retold, reminding generations to come of the transformative power of being obsessed with God's presence. It served as a testament that when one's entire being is consumed by God, miracles happen, and lives are forever changed. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/support

    Can these bones Live?

Once upon a time, in a small town filled with doubt and despair, there lived a man who was burdened with questions that echoed in his mind. He carried a heavy heart, seeking answers to the profound mysteries of life. One day, as he wandered through the quiet streets, deep in thought, he came across an old, weathered book lying on a park bench. Intrigued, he picked it up and opened its pages, only to find himself captivated by the ancient words within. The passage he stumbled upon was from the book of Ezekiel, a verse that struck a chord within his soul: "Son of man, can these bones live?" (Ezekiel 37:3) It was a question that resonated deeply within him, for it seemed to reflect the state of his own life—a twisted existence that yearned for transformation, a heart seeking redemption. In that moment, he felt a presence beside him, and he turned to see an elderly man with kind, wise eyes standing there. Sensing the man's understanding, he shared his ponderings, asking if a sinner's life could be turned into something saintly, if a path of darkness could be illuminated by righteousness. The old man smiled gently and replied, "There's only one appropriate answer, my dear friend—our Lord God. He alone knows the way." With those words imprinted in his mind, the man embarked on a journey of faith and self-discovery. He realized that true change was not something easily achieved through mere rituals and acts of religious devotion. It required a genuine surrender, a willingness to trust in God's power rather than relying solely on his own efforts. As he delved deeper into the teachings of the scriptures, he recognized a common pitfall among many—a tendency to mistake busyness and activity for true inspiration. It became clear to him that so many people were working for God, but only a few were working with God. The man understood the importance of faith over futile striving, for it is through genuine belief that God's transformative work can be accomplished. Through his own personal experiences, he began to comprehend the magnitude of God's power and might. The hopelessness he once felt for others melted away, replaced by a profound sense of compassion and empathy. He realized that God had opened his own grave, breathing new life into his spirit. This revelation left him with a newfound understanding of human nature, of how easily one can fall into darkness without the guiding light of God's grace. Embracing the lessons he had learned, the man became a beacon of hope and inspiration to those around him. His transformed life became a living testimony of God's redemptive power. People witnessed the profound change within him and were drawn to his authenticity, his unwavering faith, and his compassionate heart. With each passing day, the man's story spread throughout the town. His journey from doubt to faith, from despair to hope, touched the lives of many. The once-doubtful man became a channel of God's love, revealing the true nature of humanity when separated from the divine. And so, the man's story serves as a timeless reminder—a testament to the power of faith, the significance of personal spiritual experiences, and the transformative grace of God. It encourages all who hear it to seek a deeper connection with the divine, to trust in His guiding hand, and to understand that even the darkest souls can be redeemed by His boundless love. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/support

Put God First  John 2:24-25  King James Version  24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,  25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.  Trust in God: Our Lord never relied on any person but trusted completely in God. He was never suspicious or bitter and never lost hope for anyone. He placed his trust in God's grace, believing in its transformative power for others. If I prioritize trusting in human beings, I will end up feeling despair and hopelessness towards everyone. I will become bitter because I expect people to be flawlessly perfect. Instead, we should trust in God's grace and not in ourselves or others.  God's Will first: "I come to do thy will, O God" (Hebrews 10:9). Trust in nothing within yourself or others except the grace of God. Our obedience should be aligned with God's will, just as Jesus obediently followed His Father's will. While there is an urgent call to share the Gospel with the world, we must ensure that God's will for us personally is being fulfilled. We need to be empowered by the Holy Spirit and develop a right relationship with God's needs and His will. Once our own needs are met, God will open doors for us to fulfill His will and meet His needs elsewhere.  God's Son first: " And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. " (Matthew 18:5). God came to us as a vulnerable baby, entrusting Himself to us. He desires to transform our lives, making them a reflection of His Son's life within us. God's ultimate purpose is for His Son to be manifested in us, and we should allow our natural lives to be gradually transformed by the indwelling life of Jesus.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/support

Imagine God instructs you to do something that defies common sense, challenging everything you believe. What would you do? Would you hesitate? Just as physical actions become habits, requiring determination to break them, the same applies to spiritual matters. You'll encounter situations where you come close to doing what Jesus desires, but you'll back away at the crucial test, unless you're resolute enough to fully surrender yourself to God. However, we often respond with reservations, saying, "Yes, but what if I obey God in this matter? What about...?" Or we might say, "Sure, I'll obey God as long as it aligns with my common sense, but I won't take blind leaps of faith."  Jesus Christ expects believers to exhibit the same daring and adventurous spirit that natural individuals possess. To accomplish anything meaningful, there will be moments when one must risk everything by taking a leap of faith into the unknown. In the spiritual realm, Jesus Christ demands that you risk everything you hold dear or trust based on common sense, and instead leap into what He commands with faith. When you obey, you'll discover that His words are just as reliable and consistent as common sense.  While Jesus Christ's statements may seem absurd when judged by common sense, if you test them with faith, you'll be filled with the overwhelming realization that they are the very words of God. Trust God completely, and when He presents you with a new opportunity for adventure, embrace it wholeheartedly. In times of crisis, we often act like pagans, but only a courageous few have the audacity to invest their faith in the character of God.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mybestforhimtoday/support

Let's be real Luke 21:19 King James Version 19 In your patience possess ye your souls. When a man is born again he doesn't have the same ability to overcome extreme adversity it is thinking or reasoning for a little while as he did before. We have to identify ourselves with Christ, in order to form the mind of Christ. “ acquire your soul with patience.” Many of us prefer to stay at the beginners level of the Christian life instead of going on to build a soul in agreement with the new life God has put in us. We fail because we are uneducated about the way we are made, we blame the devil instead of our lack of discipline. Think what we can be when we are sharp and aware! There are certain things that we don't really need to pray about for example moods. Moods never go away just by praying, moods go by action. Action cures all elements and procrastination is fertilizer for fear. A mood almost always has its seat in the physical condition not in the moral. It is constant work not to listen to the moods and attitudes that arise for my physical condition, never submit to them for a second. The President of the Bible college I went to Dr. Brown PhD iin philosophy taught us the “to” rule it's simple you never make any decisions when you're “to” anything. Too hungry too tired too angry to excited to sad to happy too emotional He taught me to make the decision to simply never make a decision if I am to anything Wait until you are not ________ to decide. In the famous words of Taylor Swift we've got to shake it off, and what will find is that we can do what we said we could not do. The amazing things that people can do when they don't know they can't. The curse with most of us is that we just won't. Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow, how simple they are! Think of the sea, the air, the sun, the stars and the moon - they don't think they just are, and what a provider of assistance and care they are to us. It's amazing how often we detract from, scar, mutilate, and deform Gods designed influence through us by our self conscious effort to be consistent and useful. Jesus says that there is only one way to develop spiritually, and that is by concentration on God. It's like Jesus is saying don't worry about being useful to others; just believe on Him. If you pay attention to the Source, you will be able to help others because out of you will flow rivers of living water. We can't get at the Springs of this life by common sense, Jesus is teaching that growth in spiritual life does not depend on our watching it observing it making it happen but on concentration on our father in heaven. Our heavenly father knows the circumstances we are in, and if we keep concentrating on him we will grow spiritually as the lilies. The people who influence us the most are not those who stop us and make us listen to them. Advice is never taken when Not asked for; and rarely is taken when it is. Instead we are influenced by those who live their lives like the stars in heaven and the lilies in the field perfectly simple and without being artificial or insincere. HIS ASCENSION AND OUR Union We have no corresponding experience to the events in Our Lord's life after the Transfiguration, From then onwards Our Lord's life was altogether vicarious. Up to the time of the Transfiguration He had exhibited the normal perfect life of a man; from the Transfiguration onwards—Gethsemane, the Cross, the Resurrection—everything is unfamiliar to us. His Cross is the door by which every member of the human race can enter into the life of God; by His Resurrection He has the right to give eternal life to any man, and by His Ascension Our Lord enters heaven and keeps the door open for humanity. HIS ASCENSION AND OUR Union On the Mount of Ascension the Transfiguration is completed. If Jesus had gone to heaven from the Mount of Transfiguration, He would have gone alone; He would have been nothing more to us than a glorious Figure. But He turned His back on the glory, and came down from the Mount to identify Himself with fallen humanity. - HIS ASCENSION AND OUR Union The Ascension is the consummation of the Trans-figuration. Our Lord does now go back into His primal Glory; but He does not go back simply as Son of Man as well as Son of God. THE HABIT OF WEALTH "be partakers of the divine nature." 2 PETER 1:4. We are made partakers of the Divine nature through the promises; then we have to "manipulate" the Divine nature in our human nature by habits, and the first habit to form is the habit of realizing the provision God has made. "Oh, I can't afford it," we say—one of the worst lies is tucked up in that phrase. It is ungovernably bad taste to talk about money in the natural domain, and so it is spiritually, and yet we talk as if our Heavenly Father had cut us off with a shilling! We think it a sign of real modesty to say at the end of a day—"Oh, well, I have just got through, but it has been a severe tussle." And all the Al-mighty God is ours in the Lord Jesus I And He will tax the last grain of sand and the remotest star to bless us if we will obey Him. What does it matter if external circumstances are hard? Why should they not be! If we give way to self-pity and indulge in the luxury of misery, we banish God's riches from our own lives and hinder others from entering into His provision. No sin is worse than the sin of self-pity, because it obliterates God and puts self-interest upon the throne. It opens our mouths to spit out murmurings and our lives become craving spiritual sponges, there is nothing lovely or generous about them. When God is beginning to be satisfied with us He will impoverish everything in the nature of fictitious wealth, until we learn that all our fresh springs are in Him. Make a HABIT of HAVING no HABITS When we begin to form a habit we are conscious of it. There are times when we are conscious of becoming virtuous and patient and godly, but it is only a phase or a season; if we stop there we will get in the stride of the self righteous. The right thing to do with habits is to lose them in the life of the Lord, until every habit is so practiced that there is no conscious habit at all. No wasted motion. Like a top athlete. Our spiritual life is continually preforming a self analysis because there are some qualities we have not added yet. Ultimately the relationship is to be a completely simple one. Make a HABIT of HAVING no HABITS Your god may be your little Christian habit, the habit of prayer at stated times, or the habit of Bible reading. Watch how your Father will upset those times if you begin to worship your habit instead of what the habit symbolizes—I can't do that just now I am praying; it is my hour with God. No, it is your hour with Your habit. There is a quality that is lacking in you. Recognize the defect and then look for the opportunity of exercising yourself along the line of the quality to be added Make a HABIT of HAVING no HABITS Love means that there is no habit visible, you HaVE CoME to the place where the habit is lost, and by practice you do the thing unconsciously. If you are consciously holy, there are certain things you imagine you can not do, certain relationships in which you are far from simple; that means there is something to be added. Love as He did. But how? It won't happen by accident. And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 2 Peter 1:7 Charity is love Love is indefinite to most of us, we do not know, what we mean when we talk about love. Love is the sovereign preference of one person for another; (it is wanting the better good for another.) and spiritually Jesus demands that that preference be for Himself (Luke 14:26). If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. When we allow the love of God to live in our hearts by the Holy Ghost, Jesus Christ is easily first; then we must practise the working out of these things mentioned by Peter. The first thing God does is to knock self-deception and the hypocrisy out of me. The Holy Spirit reveals that God loved me not because I was lovable, but because it was His nature to do so. Now, He says to me, show the same love to others—“Love as I have loved you.” “I will bring any number of people around you that are hard to respect, and you must demonstrate My love to them as I have shown it to you.” You won't reach it on your tiptoes. Some of us have tried to, but we were soon tired. “The Lord suffereth long... .” Self examine to see where God is working. The knowledge that God has loved me to the uttermost, to the end of all my sin and meanness and selfishness and wrong, will send me into the world to love in the same way. God's love to me is inexhaustible, and I must love others from the bedrock of God's love to me. Growth in grace stops the moment l get irritated or off tilt. I get cranky because I have a peculiar person to deal with. Just think how disagreeable I have been to God! Am I prepared to be so iden- tified with the Lord Jesus that His life and His sweetness are being poured out all the time? Natural love or Divine love will not remain unless it is cultivated. God doesn't force us to live right either “Add” means to get into the habit of doing things, how do you think that's going to go at the beginning? This is why taking the initiative is so important To simplify try making every day decisions within five seconds You're creating a new beginning To cognitively take awareness of the reality of how God wants you to live. Take the initiative Isn't it amazing to watch people ask for direction in their life when they know perfectly well already. Take the initiative stop hesitating and take the first step Be firm when God speaks to you act in faith immediately on what he says and don't ever go back and change your decision Ecclesiastes 5:5 Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay. Don't grieve the Holy Spirit and don't quench the Holy Spirit that is don't say yes when he says no or no when he says yes If you hesitate or pause when God tells you to do something you are you're saying no or wait when he says yes or take action. Take the initiative, take it yourself, take the step with your wheel now, make it impossible to go back, burn ships bridges Gods not going to lead you in a direction where you will need them anyway he gave Noah an ark and split the Red Sea for Moses. How do I know if this or that is Gods will? In fact it's very likely to make its way into your mind now. Or in moments like this If we quit spending time trying to understand the things that we don't and instead invest the time doing the things we do how much more productive and fulfilled lives we will live. Habakkuk 2:2 And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. Take the initiative We really need to get into the habit just to do what God says right when he says it he says yes just yes and when he says no just make it a simple habit. One area of parenting I feel really good about is helping Izzy to develop the habit of praying right away no matter what it is or how small or insignificant right away and watching her remind me now and I lose my keys dad did you pray yet wow Making the habit of finding out what God says Then when the crisis comes because it will, then instinctively you will turn to God and when that happens you know that the right habit has been formed we have to take the initiative where we are today, or procrastination will begin to not only grow but also fertilized. Procrastination is fertilizer for fear action cures all ailments Take the initiative --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mybestforhimtoday/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mybestforhimtoday/support

GRASP WITHOUT REACH Understanding WITH NO IMPACT Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. GRASP WITHOUT REACH • There is a difference between an ideal and a vision. • An ideal has no moral inspiration; a vision has. ◦ Vision supernatural revelation. ◦ Ideal s inherently acknowledge the distance between how things are and how they ought to be. But they can feel restrictive if having accomplished the ideal becomes your measure for success. • The people who give themselves over to ideals rarely do anything. ◦ neglecting the commands of God that we find too difficult or impractical. • A man's concept of Deity may be used to justify his deliberate neglect of his duty. • Jonah argued that because God was a God of justice and of mercy, therefore everything would be all right. And he didn't have to go to Niniva • I may have a right concept of God, and that may be the very reason why I do not do my duty. • But wherever there is vision, there is also a life of honor, because the vision imparts moral incentive. • Ideals may calm you into decay. • Take stock of yourself spiritually and see whether you have ideals only or if you have vision. "Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, Or what's a heaven for?" GRASP WITHOUT REACH • "Where there is no vision...” • " When once we lose sight of God, we begin to be reckless, and lose self control. ◦ we stop praying ‣ Self sabotage my relationship with God ‣ Why, devil daily accuser. ◦ we block the vision of God in the little things, ‣ what is the little thing that makes you feel uncomfortable to ask God for? ‣ What is that little thing on your heart that you know God put their? ‣ “Father” ◦ We live our lives like Frank Sinatra's song “I did it my way”. • Christ's living example of complete surrender is so impressive • Am I spiritually aware, today? • Are we expecting God to do greater things than He has ever done? • Is there passion and power in our spiritual perception? GRASP WITHOUT REACH Understanding WITH NO IMPACT He walked along the shores of Galilee From clay he formed the healing balm that caused the blind to see While stones of wrath lay heavy in their Hands he knelt to write his mercy in the sand Jesus came to set the captive free Showed us by the way he lived the way we need to be Oh love is more than words could ever say We must touch them with compassion to help them find their way How can we reach a world we never touch How can we show them Christ if we never show them love Just to say we care will never be enough How can we reach a world we never touch Could we be so busy being saved Trying to impress a world thats long since lost its way We pride ourselves in being set apart but We don't have time to touch a broken heart Even if we found the time to care would we Take the risk involved in always being there We hold the very thing they need so much Sometimes the word of God can pass through just one simple touch How can we reach a world we never touch How can we show them Christ if we never show them love Just to say we care will never be enough How can we reach a world we never touch We hide behind these walls and the security of friends But beyond the stained glass window the world is lost in sin How can we reach a world we never touch How can we show them Christ if we never show them love Just to say we care will never be enough How can we reach a world we never touch How can we reach a world we never touch? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mybestforhimtoday/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mybestforhimtoday/support

    Building the Kingdom, Gods way.

Luke 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? God isn't talking about a cost the we have to count. Instead God is talking about a cost He has already counted The cost was 30 years in Nazareth, those three years of popularity, scandal and hatred, and deep agony in the garden of Gethsemane, in the suffering at Calvary – the turning point of all time and eternity. Jesus Christ has counted the cost. Men are not going to laugh at him at the end and say- “this man started to build, and was not able to finish.” The condition of discipleship laid down by God in verse 26 2733 26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. mean that the men and women he's going to use in building the kingdom are those who God has done everything. “If any man come to me,and hate not…, He cannot be my disciple. God implies that the only men and women he will use in building His Kingdom are those who love him personally, passionately and are loyal to Him beyond any of their closest ties on earth. This is the ultimate requirement, only the One who gave everything is worthy of in return. All that we build is going to be inspected by God is God going to detect in his revealing fire that we have built on the foundation of Jesus some enterprise of our own? These are days of tremendous enterprises, days when we are trying to work for God, and There in is the trap. Profoundly speaking, we can never work for God. Jesus takes us over for his enterprises, His kingdom blueprints alone, and no person has any right to play the role of the Holy Spirit or redifine the perfect blueprints God has laid out for His Kingdom. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mybestforhimtoday/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mybestforhimtoday/support
