In this special episode, Mark speaks to Tam, who is his former partner, current co-parent and long time friend. They discuss the long and arduous diagnosis journeys of their three neuro-exceptional kids, who each followed completely different routes in the UK - from NHS/CAMHS and private diagnosis, to the "Right to Choose" pathway. This is a uniquely intimate and candid episode, where both parents reflect on the emotional rollercoaster of seeking diagnoses for Jay (11, diagnosed autistic/ADHD), Otto (9, diagnosed autistic/ADHD) and India (suspected autistic/ADHD... until now). By a strange quirk of fate, the recording date of this episode fell on the same day they received the results of India's autism assessment, so you can hear their reaction to this, just moments after receiving the news, as they consider what it now means for their family. In this episode of the Duct Tape Marketing Podcast, I had the pleasure of interviewing Brandy Burch, CEO and co-founder of BenefitBay, a company innovating the employee health benefits industry through Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRAs). With a vision to make health benefits more accessible and customizable, Brandy has rapidly expanded BenefitBay and helped redefine how employers approach employee health coverage by ensuring fair and equal purchasing power. We discuss the evolution of employee health benefits, the advantages of ICHRAs for employers and employees, and the complexities involved in implementing these arrangements. From Tech-first inexperienced health benefit startups to the burden of having too many choices, Brandy Burch explains that DIYing health benefits internally is not all it's cracked up to be and giving employees a say in what benefits they choose from pets to fertility can be an enormous BENEFIT to seeking talent, as an agency. Brandy Burch also shares insights on risk management, the role of BenefitBay in the market, and the importance of personalization in employee benefits. The conversation also touches on the challenges female CEOs face in the insurance industry and the unique advantages of Kansas City as a tech hub for health benefits innovation. Our bodies are on the ballot, and our choice are on the line. In this episode, right before the US presidential election, we discuss one of the most pressing issues in Canada and the US: women's bodies and the right to choose. We sit down to discuss this issue with the Leader of the New Democratic Party, Jagmeet Singh. Some might think it is a silly choice on our behalf to speak to a man about abortion rights---but this is purposeful. Men need to speak out and stand in solidarity with us, be allies and agents of disruption in the face of other men who are trying to suppress our voices. And Canada, think again if you think we cannot lose our rights here--The CPC has proposed many anti-choice bills. We say for Canada too, "We will not go back"! The argument for allowing children to change their sex goes far beyond avoiding the harms of body dysmorphia. Andrea Long Chu, book critic for New York magazine, joins host Krys Boyd to discuss why she believes it is an inalienable right to choose one's sex, why children need to have agency in their own lives, and why the political left and right have their arguments for and against it wrong. Her article is “Why Trans Kids Have the Right to Change Their Biological Sex.”

The Supreme Court's historic decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and jeopardize abortion rights was shocking for most women. The ruling will likely impact single parents most when you factor in housing, food, and transportation costs. Women forced to become parents may not all qualify for government assistance with these and other necessities. In this video, I'll talk about how this ruling may affect the future of America in terms of women's empowerment and what it means for us in the long run.________________________________________If you liked the video, subscribe to my channel!https://www.youtube.com/c/DerrickKirk?sub_confirmation=1 You can also follow me on:FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/WHEREISDKIRK/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/dkirkforus/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mythoughts_with_derrickSNAPCHAT: https://bit.ly/3LvANda Visit my website: http://derrickkirk.com/ Show Your Support: https://bit.ly/3S2mr6m Support the show
John talks about President Biden who signed an executive order aimed at making travel to terminate a pregnancy easier for those in need. The order also allows states with legal abortion access to get Medicaid wavers to help out of state people seeking the procedure. He takes calls from Linda in Kansas, Robin in Arizona, and Cheryl in Michigan. Next, John rants on Kyrsten Sinema's fickleness over the Schumer/ Manchin Climate Bill. Then he interviews Amy Littlefield of The Nation magazine on the Kansas abortion vote and reproductive rights in the states heading into the midterms. Finally John talks with Douglas in Chicago on polling, and Mitch from Kent State once again brings his musical expertise and insight to the show. On June 24, 2022 the Supreme Court voted to overrule Roe v. Wade, a landmark court case which granted federal protections for the privacy of Americans seeking to terminate a pregnancy. The legality of an abortion is now determined on a state-by-state basis, and already several states have implemented a total ban on abortion. This issue has been weighing heavily on our hearts for the past two weeks as we wonder what a Post-Roe America looks like. Whether abortion affects you directly or not, it is important to learn and share what the Supreme Court's ruling means for abortion rights across America, and how the consequences will ripple out across the country. What are Trigger Laws? What does this mean for fertility treatments like IVF? How can we continue to protect the Right to Choose? “You don't have to like abortion, but you have to respect other people's rights, and that includes the right to safe, accessible abortion.” - @strong.ass.women For more resources on this issue, visit: AbortionFinder.org - Find abortion services and the most up-to-date information about State-to-State abortion laws. Joy Reid leads this episode of The ReidOut with Republicans leaning in on dismantling a woman's right to choose. The U.S. Senate will vote on legislation to codify those rights into law on Wednesday, but it is expected to fail. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, who serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee, joins Joy Reid to discuss. Plus, we address the assessment today from our top intelligence officials that Russia's offensive in Ukraine is not expected to end anytime soon, and could be heading into an even more volatile and deadly phase--even as it appears that the two countries are facing a stalemate. Finally, Joy explains how what just happened in the Philippines should serve as a warning to democracy-loving citizens around the globe, because what once seemed relegated to the trash heap of history has now re-emerged as a real threat against modern democracies. All this and more in this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
Last week, in one of the biggest leaks in American history, we learned that the Supreme Court is VERY close to overturning Roe v Wade. And even though Democrats control the House, Senate, and Presidency, I just don't believe the party will do what needs to be done to protect a woman's right to choose. Why? Because it would require 4 things that Democrats actually need right now. A plan. A strategy to make that plan happen. Unity. And will. In fact, I am not sure the party has any of those 4 things - and they need all 4. Let me unpack and explain it.
