I’ll be unpacking this article’s information and showing you what it means, why it matters, and most all, what you can do to protect yourself. Join the email list by texting "Apple" to 66866!

When I first met John Lanza, Creator and Chief Mammal of The Money Mammals, I realized how cool his platform was. Having kids myself, I know how important it is to teach kids about money management, especially when allowance is involved. And, let’s face it, most of you have kids yourselves (or obviously have a classroom full of kids), so what John has to say may be right down your alley. Please check out the show, but be sure to also subscribe to the show.
You can call her a money-generating super star or wonder woman of grant writing, either way, Marisol Stokes has a heart to start or participate in programs that help her kids enjoy the luxuries of learning. Not only is she just amazing, but she happens to be one of my daughter's former teachers. I knew firsthand she'd be a perfect person to talk about what it takes to find money in the most unexpected places.
You've been to your fair share of employee benefit fairs! Yeah, you know the various row of booths with experts that serve to educate you about your options for retirement, saving, and everything else having to do with YOUR money. Well, here's the thing. A self-proclaimed "typical-thirty-something teacher," Monica J. believes wholeheartedly in helping kids. She loves what she does, especially when her actions lead to making a difference within a collective. She and her union had gone on strike to encourage her district to take care of the teachers at her school. Afterall, she believes that teachers have a right to be treated fairly.
Amy Irvine, Host of the Wine and Dime podcast, and I do a crossover episode, where we combine wine (La Croix for me) and a good chat about our passion for educating our educators. There are so many instances of financial education that we want teachers to know, so we share a bit about what we know.

Debt isn’t a death sentence. Suicide, depression, anxiety, are human emotions that we don’t have to hide behind. Today, I have Dear Debt’s Creator, Melanie Lockhart on the show to discuss her personal story of depression as well as suicide in her family. But, let’s get real here. Her experience isn’t just something that happened to her. People you know, people you love, and hey, even you might be experiencing your own emotional crisis due to money. Sometimes the best thing to do is acknowledge where you are, know where there is help, and reach out.
If you've been offered free pension plans and yet weren't able to easily validate who was offering the service, be leary. While taking a self-care day, I realized that the mysteriousness of one financial planner turned out to be completely untrue and downright misleading. Claims you find online can sometimes be a lure to sell you financial products you may not need. Be sure to approach situations like these with caution.
Please disregard the audio quality! My next guest recorded in a “tunnel” in Mexico where we encountered issues with the internet connection, as you can imagine. She and I discuss her activities after teaching, including family, traveling, and sailing!
The US education system employs 4-5 million teachers teaching K-12. While these same teachers are taking care of their students, finances probably fall to the wayside. What’s worse, those who try to teach teachers about money over pizza and cookies know that to be true and, unfortunately, take advantage. This podcast is about reaching 1 million teachers who strive to live free from that dreaded money-stress. Are you one?
