Every spring, on the first Monday in May, an incredible transformation takes place on Fifth Avenue in New York City. The streets overflow with cars and people. A staircase becomes a red carpet. And a museum becomes a full-on party, filled with a select few of the biggest names in pop culture and the fashion industry. Spectators all around the world stop for this one moment all asking the very same question: “Did you see what they were wearing?” The Met Gala is fashion at full volume. A place where ideas come to life in silk, sequins, and sometimes… steel. At its core, it's a fundraiser; but it's also a veritable stage performance, a runway, and a virtual cone of silence for each attendee that mostly follow a strict no phone policy. The secrecy around what goes on inside, and the exclusive, hand-picked guest selection process are the fuel to this most envied of annual fashion events. Luckily for us, as friends of Anna Wintour — who's been organizing the event since 1995 — Nordstrom often gets the highly coveted invite. And luckily for you, this year, we've decided to bring the Nordy Pod along with us. Joining us at the Met this year is someone who's become a fairly regular voice on the podcast, and who is certainly a well-seasoned, longtime Met Gala attendee; our VP, Fashion Director at Nordstrom, Rickie De Sole. Also along for the ride is a super talented and up-and-coming fashion designer by the name of Rachel Scott of Diotima, who was just last year awarded the CFDA Fashion Award for American Womenswear Designer. We've recently started carrying her brand at Nordstrom, and she actually designed the dress that Rickie's wearing to the Met. We'll also learn more about the theme for this year's gala, which is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, from our Mens Fashion Director at Nordstrom, Jian Deleon. Join us for fashion's most spellbinding night. A high-octane collision of creativity, celebrity, and fashion. Who's in attendance? Who's best dressed? Who stole the show? We'll answer these questions, and more, as the Nordy Pod goes to the Met. Thanks for tuning in to episode 87. We hope you enjoy it! Did you know that YOU can be on The Nordy Pod? This show isn't just a one-way conversation. We want to hear about what Nordstrom looks like through your eyes. Share your Nordstrom experience, good or bad, by giving us a call and leaving a voicemail at: 206.594.0526, or send an email to nordypodcast@nordstrom.com to be a part of the conversation! For the March 2025 issue of the magazine, Vogue Runway's Nicole Phelps gathered three of the industry's bright stars: Diotima's Rachel Scott, Colleen Allen, and Julie Kegels, to ask them about the realities of being their own boss and navigating a fashion industry that seems to not always value its female talent. On today's episode, the three designers join Phelps to discuss their role models, the ways in which the industry can better support up and coming designers, and what their idea of success looks like. I think a good way to illustrate the bigotry of low expectations is the racism of a black woman named Rachel Scott, who interviewed President Trump. And then of course, the racism of Kammi Harris,Episode Links:ABC's Rachel Scott opens her interview with President Trump at the NABJ conference by calling him a racist for criticizing black politicians and journalists. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In 08/03/24. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. This weekly broadcast examines current events from across the globe to learn what's happening in all areas of people activity. We cultivate Counter-Racist Media Literacy by scrutinizing journalists' word choices and using logic to deconstruct what is reported as "news." We'll use these sessions to hone our use of terms as tools to reveal truth, neutralize Racists/White people. #ANTIBLACKNESS The National Association of Black Journalists hosted an exchange of views with former President Donald J. Trump. The President of NABJ resigned in protest of the Suspected Racist being invited to speak, co-chair of the convention and Washington Post columnist Karen Attiah charged that she was not consulted in advance about the Trump interview. During the exchange, Trump called journalist Rachel Scott a rude, "fake news" lackey for ABC. He charged Vice President Kamala Harris with adjusting her racial classification (black/indian) to suit her needs and suggested she may be a "DEI hire." Trump also hammered one of his major campaign talking points, that invading non-white people are taking "black jobs." Scott, who was the only interviewer who used the term "White Supremacy," asked Trump to explain the curious phrase "black jobs." As with most events, many non-white people were very critical of NABJ overall and Ms. Scott specifically. Some C.O.W.S. listeners believe Scott could inspire Trump to seek vengeance against black people if/when he returns to the White House. The C.O.W.S. Neutralizing Workplace Racism 08/02/24. Former President Donald J. Trump spoke with the National Association of Black Journalists about his presidential ambitions and concerns for black people. During the course of the discussion, he emphasized his campaign talking point that illegal non-white immigrants are taking "black jobs." Black female journalist Rachel Scott, who was widely rebuked as rude and "discourteous" for her questioning of Trump, asked for clarification of the phrase "black jobs." Trump replied: "Anybody that has a job." #NotLogicalProbablyRacist The former president concluded his forty minute exchange by reminding black viewers: "These people are taking your jobs." Neely Fuller Jr. has told us to watch out for this lie. Gus has encouraged non-white people to be cautious about the use of possessive adjectives on the job ("my job," "my office"). The #UsualSuspects own all the jobs and do all the hiring. We also discuss the work of Cathy Creighton who says that according to US law, aspects of Constitution do not apply in a private workplace context. We continue to look at President Trump's interaction at the National Association of Black Journalists. I'm going to compare it to the Seattle brand of racism. President Trump showed absolute respect for black people by pushing back on this nasty agenda-driven black journalist. President Trump was President Trump. He didn't code shift, he didn't pander. That's respect. Many other Republican politicians would have pandered and done everything they could to duck and cover. SERIES 3 EPISODE 1: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: After his demented, prejudiced paroxysm at the National Association of Black Journalists, as he signaled the start of his full-on, hateful, disgusting, apartheid-and-slavery-level-appalling campaign of birtherism and racism, Donald Trump must withdraw from the presidential election and commit to psychiatric institutionalization. There is no longer any room in the political discourse of the United States of America for anyone both so deeply disturbed AND so deeply possessed by a hate of people of color that it reaches the levels of insanity and prejudice Trump not only DISPLAYED in Chicago yesterday but gloried in. More over, there is no room in American SOCIETY for anyone with such an immeasurably dysfunctional and dangerous mental illness as that which Trump showed again and again at the NABJ event. This country is not safe if Donald Trump is free to walk on its streets. This country is not safe if those who have mistaken him for sane, or rational, or patriotic, or just American, are not shown in no uncertain terms that what he radiated yesterday on that stage is a disease At the National Association of Black Journalists event in Chicago he went full birther, again. He went full racist, again. He not only questioned the ethnic history of the Vice President of the United States, but he accused her of either CHANGING that history or changing her STATEMENTS ABOUT that history – Trump's insanity permitted him to be vague even in his apartheid-level racist accusation. As he did so his stooges like Jesse Watters were going on Fox claiming Vice President Harris is quote “not African-American, technically” and Laura Loomer was disseminating a Harris birth certificate and the gutter trash congresswoman from Colorado Lauren Boebert wrote quote “she switched” and the Trump parking lot attorney Alina Habba said quote “Unlike you Kamala, I know who my roots are and where I come from." Not again. We must - using the law and the ballot box - destroy this man's evil and metaphorically bury his campaign and those who support under the rubble of birtherism. B-BLOCK (24:50) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Mar-a-Lago insiders selling info to supplicants about when Trump is in a good mood. Musk and Ramaswamy say America needs more people (but not immigrants like their own parents) and the Oklahoma school nazi wants to fire any teacher who wasn't worried enough about Trump's ear-piercing. C-BLOCK (35:38) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Ah for the simpler times of 46 years ago when the big issue was: will I get my seersucker suit dirty on the subway as I travel up to my internship at Channel 5 News. The story of Keith The Intern and Bill Mazer, See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (07/31/2024): 3:05pm- On Wednesday, Donald Trump spoke at the Members of the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago. The Q&A started off with ABC's Rachel Scott ostensibly accusing Trump of being a racist. In his retort, Trump explained that Scott's question was unnecessarily hostile—revealing that Scott was 35-minutes late to begin the conversation. Trump also noted that his administration adopted many policies that benefited the Black community—and that presumed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris declined to attend the convention. 3:20pm- In the week since President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race and selected Kamala Harris to be his successor, clips have emerged of Harris advocating for some truly bizarre policies—including a ban on fracking, a mandatory gun buyback initiated via executive authority, placing a limit on red meat consumption, providing taxpayer-funded health care to undocumented migrants residing in the country illegally, and the complete abolition of private health insurance. 3:40pm- Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL)—U.S. Representative for Florida's 19th Congressional District—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania tonight at New Holland Arena. The event starts at 6:00pm. Plus, Rep. Donalds reacts to Trump's participation in the Members of the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago earlier today. He also calls out Kamala Harris for “flip flopping” on policy. For example, she has repeatedly called for a ban on fracking for years but recently changed her preference to presumably be a more appealing candidate in Pennsylvania. 4:05pm- On Tuesday, Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe testified before the United States Senate—as part of the Senate's investigation into the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13th. During his opening statement, Rowe said he “cannot defend” the rally's security failures. He explained: “What I saw made me ashamed.” In one notable exchange, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MI) grilled Rowe and expressed confusion as to how no one—despite the agency's failures—was fired. Hawley exclaimed: "The former President was shot! Just fire somebody!...We have people who are dead!" On Wednesday, a previously unreleased video of the shooting found its way to social media—offering an alternate angle and further emphasizing the monumental security failure. 4:10pm- On Wednesday, Donald Trump spoke at the Members of the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago. At another moment in the moderated conversation, Trump was asked if Harris was a Biden Administration “D.E.I hire.” He responded: "She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn't know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black—and now she wants to be known as Black. So, I don't know. Is she Indian or is she Black?" 4:15pm- While speaking at the Members of the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago, Donald Trump hilariously stated he wanted to bring inflation down so that people can afford bacon again! 4:20pm- Flashback: When asked about policies that could potentially reduce the cost of goods and combat inflation, Vice President Kamala Harris was unable to provide a coherent answer. 4:25pm- While speaking on behalf of Kamala Harris' presidential campaign, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro exclaimed: “I've got a message to Donald Trump—stop sh** talking America.” In recent days, Shapiro has seemingly swung wildly to the left in attempting to appeal to Harris as a Vice Presidential pick. If he isn't ultimately selected, will his perception as a “moderate” be irreversibly damaged? Interestingly, of the Vice Presidential contenders, Mark Kelly enjoys the highest net favorability rating—is it a coincidence that he's also the only contender not regularly appearing on television or at rally's saying outlandish things to appease Harris' campaign? 4:30pm- While appearing on CNN, journalist Gretchen Carlson noted that Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro's response to sexual harassment allegations brought against one of his top aides could pose a major risk for Kamala Harris should she pick him to be his running mate. 4:40pm- In a video that has now gone viral, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro can be seen missing a 12-foot jump shot over and over and over again at a Philadelphia Youth Basketball league. When he finally hits the short-range jumper, the kids in attendance go wild—reacting as though Shapiro had just hit a buzzer beater in game seven of the NBA finals. 5:05pm- Josh Shapiro Can't Stop Cursing: While speaking with Meidas Touch Network, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro cursed three times in less than a minute. Rich wonders if Shapiro keeps cursing to try to impress Kamala Harris—is it working? 5:20pm- CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten has called Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro the best potential running mate for presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris. 5:35pm- On Tuesday, Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe testified before the United States Senate—as part of the Senate's investigation into the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13th. 5:40pm- Dr. E.J. Antoni—Research Fellow in The Heritage Foundation's Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the U.S. national debt topping $35 trillion. Outlandishly, the interest payments on the debt are now roughly $1 trillion annually! Plus, is it true that Dr. Antoni and Elon Musk are basically best friends on X now? 6:05pm- Will Josh Shapiro Be The VP Pick?: Holly Otterbein and Eugene Daniels of Politico report: “Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to announce her running mate by Tuesday, when she will hold her first rally with her pick in Philadelphia.” Does this mean Shapiro might be the pick? You can read the full article here: https://www.politico.com/news/2024/07/30/harris-first-rally-running-mate-tuesday-philadelphia-00171999 6:15pm- Kamala Harris' Rise to Power: Isabel Vincent, Jennie Taer, and Christopher Guly of The New York Post write: “As a young prosecutor, Kamala Harris was gifted a BMW and lavished with trips to Paris and the Oscars by a much older lover who also jumpstarted her meteoric rise in California politics…The current vice president famously had a relationship with Democratic Party kingmaker Willie Brown in 1994 when she was 29 and he was 60, and when he was serving as speaker of the California Assembly.” You can read the full article here: https://nypost.com/2024/07/31/world-news/kamala-harris-got-bmw-and-career-boost-from-older-lover/ 6:40pm- REPLAY: Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL)—U.S. Representative for Florida's 19th Congressional District—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania tonight at New Holland Arena. You probably have your own Scripture that worries you, or if you don't, you should. There should be Scripture that keeps us up at night. There's one that really, really causes me to stop and think every time I read it. It's Matthew 7:21-23. Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who's in heaven. On that day, many will say to me, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and cast out demons in your name and do many mighty works in your name? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you, depart from me, you workers of lawlessness. I never knew you. We will go through these Scriptures that I think should cause all Christians to pause and really take an honest self-assessment or perhaps ask their Christian brothers and sisters to aid them in that self-assessmentWhat does God's Word say? Proverbs 6:16-19 16 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,19 a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the communityMatthew 7:21-23 ESV I Never Knew You21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'Matthew 13:30-32 ESV30 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. 31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.Romans 13:1-7Submission to Governing Authorities13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God's servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.Romans 13:8-10Love Fulfills the Law8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.Episode 1,755 Links:In honor of @megbasham's book launch, here's Ed Stetzer talking with the Council On Foreign Relations about how to deprogram the DeplorablesJesus and Nicodimus from The ChosenABC's Rachel Scott opens her interview with President Trump at the NABJ conference by calling him a racist for criticizing black politicians and journalists. Donald Trump sat for an interview at the NABJ conference and got utterly humiliated by a solid line of questioning from Rachel Scott and Kadia Goba. Of the many storylines that emerged from the interview, the Trump campaign now appears to be running with his Birtherism 2.0 attack against Kamala Harris. We get into the racist attacks on Harris, as well as Cori Bush via direct mailers from AIPAC, and much more. WABC Host Bill O'Reilly joins Sid to discuss Donald Trump's interview with the National Association of Black Journalists and how it led to Trump mistakenly falling into Rachel Scott's trap and delivering a controversial statement regarding the color of Kamala Harris' skin.
[00:30] Media Pivots Back to ‘Trump Is Racist' Narrative (55 minutes) ABC's Rachel Scott opened her interview with President Donald Trump at the National Association of Black Journalists conference by calling him a racist. Rather than avoiding potentially hostile situations like this one, Trump's campaign strategy is to face the resistance head on. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris is suddenly emphasizing her black heritage even though she has been presenting herself as a South Asian-American for decades.
President Trump had the stones to speak at the National Association of Black Journalists, which is another group using race as a cover for their Lefty bias. American Bullshit Company's Rachel Scott welcomed him and then proceeded to paint him as a bigot.
ABC's Democratic operative Rachel Scott hurled insults at President Trump at the National Association of Black Journalist conference. It was another game of "chicken" by the liberal media mob where President Trump walked into a hostile situation, engaged himself in a combative situation and leaves given the liberal media their headlines. Time and time again liberal media outlets try and earn respect from their colleagues by showing themselves tough on Trump. Rachel Scott threw as many things as she could at Trump but It was when Trump asked "when did Kamala become black?" that set the internet ablaze. Kamala has flip-flopped, back pedalled and failed repeatedly but now the internet has found all the receipts on Kamala's Indian household and upbringing. The treatment was telling of the tone of an ABC debate and created an opportunity for Trump to negotiate the terms and conditions to debate Kamala. Kamala is a flip-flopper with poor policies and whether it's supporting the Minnesota freedom fund, banning fracking or the failed border czar, the Trump team is on the attack. As polling shows the race tighter than ever, thankfully there is clip after clip of Kamala in her own words on who she is and what she stands for. Today's show opens with new cell phone video footage released from one of the people critically injured in the Trump assassination attempt. The footage from James Copenhaver clearly shows the shooter moving around on the room of the AGR building. He pops up and down and runs across, looking for his spot to setup. How is it possible Secret Service counter-snipers never saw any movement? Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) said he is going to stay on top of Acting Director Ronald Rowe as if Rowe had stolen his dog. It seems the Biden-Harris Administration is pro-Hamas and pro-terrorist. First they chose to not prosecute any of the law breakers who protested in D.C. when Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke to Congress. Then, they decided to let the two illegal Jordanians who tried to ram a truck onto Marine Base Quantico get bail to walk the streets again. Then, they just announced a plea deal with KSM, mastermind of 9/11, along with two other terrorists. Embrace weirdness. It means you are unique. An individual. It should me you reject the idea of “sameness” and being part of a commune. Donald Trump showed courage and fortitude in his attendance of the National Association of Black Journalists panel discussion. He was treated horribly by ABC's Rachel Scott, but managed to win the audience over and make her look foolish. When it comes to DEI and Kamala Harris running as an Indian-American before deciding she is black is not a Trump opinion. It's a fact. And if ABC has issue with that, they should take it up with Biden and Harris equally. They are inextricably tied together in everything and we need to never let that fact be forgotten. Looks like the Olympics has found a way to make domestic violence, not only acceptable, but also applaudable. I thought the IOC wasn't going to allow men to participate in women's sports. Yet, an Italian female boxer, for her only personal safety, had to call an end to her fight after just 45 seconds. And, ironically, today is the day the Biden-Harris change to Title IX goes into effect in the United States. Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) tweeted that “trans women are real women.” So, let the front runner for Kamala Harris to be her VP pick live with the label of being in favor of supporting domestic abuse. Donald Trump stopped by the National Association of Black Journalists' convention in Chicago on Thursday for a lively on-stage interview that saw him label ABC “fake news” and get into arguments with moderators over Kamala Harris, JD Vance, and abortion. ABC's Rachel Scott did most of the questioning, and she led off by recalling, “You have told four congresswoman of color who, are American citizens, to go back to where they came from. You have used words like 'animal' and 'rabbid' to describe black attorneys. You attack black journalists, calling them 'a loser' saying the questions that they asked are, quote, “stupid and racist.” You've had dinner with a white supremacist at your Mar-a-Lago resort. So, my question, sir, now that you were asking black supporters to vote for you, why should black voters trust you after you have used language like that?”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: 3:05pm- On Wednesday, Donald Trump spoke at the Members of the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago.
The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 2: 4:05pm- On Tuesday, Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe testified before the United States Senate—as part of the Senate's investigation into the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13th.
7/31/24 Hour 1 Kamala Haris avoids the NABJ conference in an effort to stay on script. Donald Trump enters a hostile environment and handles “disgraceful” questions from ABC's Rachel Scott. The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) annual convention in Chicago is stirring controversy as former President Donald Trump is set to participate in a question-and-answer session. The session will be moderated by ABC's Rachel Scott, Fox News' Harris Faulkner, and Semafor's Kadia Goba. NABJ President Ken Lemon emphasized that the event is not an endorsement. "The first thing that you read when we put out that release says it's not an endorsement," Lemon stated. The controversy intensified with the resignation of Karen Attiah, a Washington Post columnist and co-chair of the convention. Attiah expressed concerns over Trump's history with Black journalists, such as a past incident where Trump insulted a Black journalist by saying, "What a stupid question, but I watch you a lot, you ask a lot of stupid questions." Despite the backlash, Lemon defended the decision, saying, "Every presidential election cycle, we invite the presidential candidates and in this case, we have two presumptive nominees. This is a great opportunity for us to vet the candidate right here on our ground." Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Former President Donald Trump is expected to speak today at noon at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) annual convention -- a move that has sparked much backlash and outrage. AURN spoke with National Newspaper Publishers Association President Dr. Benjamin Chavis, who is asking the organization to rescind the invite. This morning on the radio he had this to say: "This is an affront to Black America. I think this is not about journalism, and this is not about equivalency, because there is no equivalency between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. I understand Vice President Harris won't be able to make it. But they should never extended an invitation to Donald Trump in the first place. And the way they set up the panel it's a Fox News-controlled panel." ABC's Rachel Scott and Semafor's Kadia Goba will be moderators for the discussion alongside Fox News' Harris Faulkner, but many are calling for the event to be canceled and for the president of NABJ to step down from his position. Protests are happening outside, but as of now, the show still goes on. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Today marks 25 years since the school massacre. Earlier this week, FOX News Rundown host Dave Anthony spoke to a survivor, Craig Scott, who lost his sister that day, but also saved some of his classmates that day. Craig shared in great detail what he witnessed, how faith guided him on that terrible day, and how he learned that his sister, Rachel Scott, had been fatally shot by the two killers. He also discussed the lasting legacy of his Rachel, who was the first student murdered during the shooting. Craig also shared how he's trying to help troubled teens, and what can be done to reduce the number of school shootings in America. The segment that aired this week on the regular weekday version of the Rundown only included a small portion of the interview. On April 20, 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold gunned down twelve students and one teacher—at that time, this was the deadliest school shooting in U.S. history. Since then, there have been over 400 school shootings across the country, with 1 in 4 public school teachers saying they have been in a gun-related lockdown in the past year. Last week, the parents of Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley were sentenced to at least a decade in prison for missing opportunities to prevent the 2021 massacre. Columbine survivor and advocate Craig Scott joins the Rundown to reflect on 25 years since the infamous shooting, bring attention to his sister Rachel Scott's story, and share how to prevent future incidents.
