What if the hardest season of your life is actually building the strongest version of you? In this mashup episode, I'm bringing together some of the most powerful conversations I've had about adversity, resilience, purpose, and what it really takes to keep going when life hurts. I believe one of the greatest separators in life is the ability to play hurt. Anybody can perform when they feel great, when the momentum is there, and when everything is going their way. The real test is what you do when you're tired, disappointed, grieving, afraid, or unsure of yourself. Those are the moments that reveal who you are becoming. Jay “Jeezy” Jenkins shares how adversity became one of his greatest teachers and how going inward forced him to confront the parts of himself that success alone could never fix. Eric Thomas breaks down the level of work, discipline, and self-evaluation required if you truly want extraordinary results, and why sometimes the answer isn't simply working harder, but raising your systems, your standards, and your entire level of execution. James Lawrence gives one of the most powerful examples of the One More mindset when he explains why, after completing 100 brutal endurance challenges, he got back up and did 101. Not because he had anything left to prove, but because he wanted people to know that even when you feel completely broken, there is still one more inside you. Dean Graziosi and I talk about changing your relationship with fear, pain, and hard things. The people who win at the highest levels don't spend their lives searching for the easiest path. They train themselves to move toward the difficult things that other people avoid. Jim Kwik reminds us that attention is everything and that one of the fastest ways to grow is to learn with the intention of teaching, because when you teach something, you begin to own it at a completely different level. And Maria Shriver offers the other side of resilience that we don't talk about enough. She reminds us about the power of the pause, reflection, and understanding that a meaningful life is not only about doing more, but also knowing when to slow down long enough to understand who you are becoming. I want you to understand something about the pain you're going through right now. It does not have to be wasted. Your hardest season can become your greatest testimony, your deepest pain can become the thing that qualifies you to help somebody else, and your breaking point can become your building point. You don't have to have your A-game every day. You just have to stay available, stay in the fight, and keep moving. Sometimes winning looks like one more call, one more meeting, one more workout, one more prayer, or simply getting up one more time. Key Takeaways: Why the ability to “play hurt” separates extraordinary people from everyone else Jay “Jeezy” Jenkins on turning adversity into purpose and becoming more self-aware Eric Thomas on matching your expectations with the level of work and systems required to achieve them James Lawrence on why doing “one more” matters most when you feel completely depleted Dean Graziosi on training yourself to move toward fear, pain, and difficult challenges Jim Kwik on improving attention and why teaching what you learn helps you own it Maria Shriver on the power of pausing, reflecting, and finding richness beyond constant achievement Why your pain can become the very thing that prepares you for your next level Your hardest days are not disqualifying you. They may be preparing you. So when life knocks you down, don't automatically assume it's time to retreat. Sometimes that pain is your opportunity to discover a level of strength, faith, and resilience you never would have found any other way. Get up, stay available, and do one more.

Over the past few episodes, we've unpacked why mid-year slumps happen, shared our different perspectives on getting out of them, and talked about what it really means to reset your life without trying to become a completely different person. Now it's time to bring it all together. This episode is the wake-up call you might not want, but probably need. We explore the uncomfortable truths that keep us stuck, why we often blame our timing, motivation or circumstances instead of taking ownership, and how raising your standards can completely change the direction of your life.We challenge you to ask yourself the questions you've been avoiding. What truth have you been avoiding? Where are you lying to yourself? What part of your life feels out of alignment? What are you blaming instead of changing? What behaviours are no longer acceptable for the person you're trying to become?Because the reality is, you can want more for your life, but eventually you have to start acting like it. The things you tolerate become the life you live, and if you keep accepting a life you say you don't want, you're choosing it.This episode isn't about becoming perfect. It's about becoming honest. It's about having the hard conversation with yourself, taking responsibility, embracing discomfort and choosing growth over excuses, because that's where real momentum begins.Your next chapter starts the moment you stop making excuses for the current one.2026 Notion templateRaw Reality https://rawreality.com.au/**https://rawreality.com.au/products/life-upgrade-system-notion-template**Between Us Connection Cards https://rawreality.com.au/products/between-us-cards?utm_source=copyToPasteBoard&utm_medium=product-links&utm_content=webFind us below:@rawreallity https://www.instagram.com/rawreallity?igsh=cjZlMzZsM2lva3hw@ttorisstory https://www.instagram.com/ttorisstory/@fitwithlilyy https://www.instagram.com/fitwithlilyy/Community Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/share/v3sbEonnywyvp1h7/

Happy Mindset Monday!Who are you beyond your job title, achievements, relationships, responsibilities, and the expectations other people placed on you?In this episode of Living The Sweet Life, TJ Sweet sits down with author, speaker, podcast host, coach, and corporate leader Tetika Buchheit for an honest conversation about identity, healing, survival, strength, and human connection.Tetika came to the United States at 17 without speaking English. She went on to earn her doctorate, build a successful corporate career, lead and develop others, survive cancer, endure loss, and continue rising through life's most difficult chapters. For years, achievement looked like thriving. But beneath the performance was a deeper need to reconnect with the person behind the titles.Tetika shares how she began moving from external approval toward authenticity, from survival toward healing, and from asking, “Why is this happening to me?” to asking, “What is this trying to teach me?”TJ and Tetika discuss:Why achievement does not always create fulfillmentHow survival habits can prevent us from thrivingWhat it means to be both strong and softWhy asking for help creates deeper connectionHow to forgive yourself for choices made with an earlier level of awarenessWhy waiting for an apology can keep you emotionally stuckHow to separate your identity from your painWhy being fully seen begins with showing people who you really areHow honest conversations create safety, healing, and belongingTetika leaves us with a powerful reminder:Every meaningful transformation begins with one honest moment. You do not need to have the entire path figured out.You only need enough courage to tell yourself the truth about where you are and what needs to change.Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/tetikabuchheit/Listen to The Rise of You: A Truth Discovered:https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-rise-of-you-a-truth-discovered--6658837Apple Podcasts:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-rise-of-you-a-truth-discovered/id1821504549Purchase Rise in Truth in paperback:https://www.amazon.com/Rise-Truth-Tetika-Buchheit/dp/B0FPQYFBT4Purchase Rise in Truth on Kindle:https://www.amazon.com/Rise-Truth-Tetika-Buchheit-ebook/dp/B0FPBT1QK8Website shared during the episode:https://ttalks.comRise in Truth explores pain, healing, grace, and the process of accepting yourself as enough. In reality, implementation and commitment are usually the bigger problem. The Investments That Changed EverythingI share how investing in mentorship—from Boutique Hub to somatic coaching and beyond—completely transformed not only my business, but the way I think, lead, and make decisions. Why I've Invested Nearly $200,000 in CoachingThe return wasn't just financial. It was years of mistakes avoided, faster growth, greater confidence, and becoming the kind of leader I wanted to be.The Question Every Aspiring Mentee Should AskInstead of asking, "Who will mentor me?"Ask yourself: "Why would someone successful want to invest their time in me?"The Unexpected Mentor Who Changed My BusinessI share the story of meeting one of the most successful people in the archery industry—and why he generously answers my questions. What Actually Attracts Great MentorsIt's rarely about your revenue or experience. It's about coachability, humility, consistency, curiosity, and proving you're willing to do the work. The Biggest TakeawayThe right mentor can save you years of trial and error. But mentorship isn't about someone carrying you. It's about showing up as someone who's willing to listen, implement, and earn the opportunity to learn from people who've already walked the path. When you become that person, you'll be amazed at how many doors begin to open.If this episode challenged your perspective, I'd love to hear your biggest takeaway. Share it with me on Instagram or inside the Embodied Baddie Lounge. And if you know another entrepreneur who's trying to figure everything out alone, send this episode their way. Sometimes the fastest path isn't working harder—it's learning from someone who's already been where you want to go.Until next time, keep becoming the woman your future self is counting on.

Success isn't built on motivation. It's built on what you do after you've been disappointed. After the setback. After the plateau. After the day you wanted to quit. In this episode, Rachel and David unpack one of the most important skills you'll ever develop: grit. Not the unhealthy kind that keeps you burnt out and running on stress. The kind that allows you to keep showing up, trust yourself, and follow through long after everyone else has given up. If you've ever found yourself saying... "I've tried everything." "Why can I succeed in my career but not with my body?" "Maybe I just don't have enough discipline." ...this episode will completely change your perspective. Inside this episode, we discuss: Why grit is a skill - not a personality trait. The difference between purpose-driven resilience and unhealthy hustle. Why high-achieving women excel professionally but often struggle with their body. How years of failed diets slowly destroy your confidence and self-belief. Why fat loss is an emotional problem before it's a nutrition problem. The hidden "f**k it" moments that sabotage even the best nutrition plans. Why emotional cravings - not physical hunger - keep so many women stuck. The importance of becoming coachable if you want extraordinary results. Why trusting yourself is one of the greatest skills you can develop. How your internal dialogue shapes your identity and your future. The Daily 1% philosophy and why small, consistent actions outperform perfection every time. Why your only two options are simple: Quit... or go again. This episode is a reminder that confidence isn't something you're born with. It's something you earn every time you keep a promise to yourself. Every challenge you overcome becomes proof that you're capable of overcoming the next one. The question isn't whether you'll experience setbacks. You will. The question is what you'll do next. Will you quit? Or go again? Al, Zach, Christian, and John Luke wrap up Ancient Christianity with stories about sermon critiques, mispronounced words, and the kind of mentorship that only works when trust has been earned. Al shares how a gift from his granddaughter brought Phil's larger-than-life legacy to mind, while John Luke explains how he turned the Roman Empire into a summer camp lesson about Jesus, persecution, and the kingdom of God. The guys dig into Augustine's impact on the Trinity, the incarnation of Christ, and why God must reveal himself before we can truly know him.  In this episode: John 1:1; Genesis 1:28; John 17:3; John 14:6; Ephesians 3:10; Luke 15; Psalm 48:1-8; 1 John 4:8-10; Romans 1-2; Romans 7:24-25 Today's conversation is a recap of Ancient Christianity taught by visiting Hillsdale Professor of History Kenneth Calvert. Take the course with us at no cost to you! Sign up at http://unashamedforhillsdale.com/. More about Ancient Christianity: Christ entered the world during the reign of Caesar Augustus. The tensions between Christianity and the Roman Empire shaped the daily practice of the Christian faith and led many Romans to distrust and persecute the early Christians. But Christianity also benefitted from the Roman world. And when Rome collapsed in the West, Christianity provided the hope for preserving civilization. In this free, eleven-lecture course, Professor Kenneth Calvert will explore: How the Jewish, Greek, and Roman cultures all contributed to preparing the world to hear the Gospel. Why many Romans distrusted and persecuted the early Christians. The inspiring stories of Christ, His apostles, and faithful ones throughout the first four centuries of Christianity. The arguments of key early Christian apologists—Ignatius, Irenaeus, Justin, Athanasius, and more—who defended and defined the Christian faith amidst the animosity of the Roman world. The conversion of Constantine and how he brought stability to Rome, and how the rivalry between his sons almost returned Rome to paganism. How Augustine's writings helped preserve the message of Christianity during the collapse of the Roman Empire in the West. You will discover the uncertainties, trials, and triumphs of the earliest Christians as they confronted controversies within the faith and persecutions from outside it. After 11 years of hosting How to Protect the Ocean, I wanted to take a step back and reflect on what the journey has taught me. What started as a simple passion project became a platform for ocean storytelling, science communication, and career development. Along the way, I learned lessons about persistence, networking, and creating opportunities that I never could have predicted when I published the first episode. One of the biggest takeaways is that building a career in marine science and conservation is rarely a straight line. Many people enter the field because they love the ocean, but passion alone is not enough. Success often comes from gaining experience, volunteering, developing new skills, and continuing to show up even when progress feels slow. In this episode, I share the lessons that emerged from more than a decade of conversations with scientists, conservationists, policymakers, and ocean advocates. We discuss why visibility matters, how side projects can shape your future, and why consistency is often the most important skill of all. Whether you are just starting your ocean career or looking for inspiration to keep going, this episode offers an honest look at what it takes to build something meaningful over time. At last month's Bio-IT World Conference & Expo, Eleanor Howe, founder and CEO of Diamond Age Data Science, presented the Trends with the Trenches session based on gathered input from colleagues, clients, and advisors across the life sciences field. Coding agents were the central topic—how they're speeding up software development, open source maintenance, and analysis workflows while also shifting new types of responsibility to the human reviewer. Now, “just coding” is no longer enough, and Howe provides advice for early-career scientists on how to get hired in a different environment. Plus, she covers why simulating data can backfire, why smaller purpose-built models often win, and why better data curation, active learning, ELN automation, and federation may matter more than another flashy model demo. Links from this episode:  Bio-IT World Conference & Expo Bio-IT World BioTeam Diamond Age Data Science  Bio-IT World's Trends from the Trenches podcast delivers your insider's look at the science, technology, and executive trends driving the life sciences through conversations with industry leaders.

From sanding boats and watching his fingerprints disappear to building a future through digital marketing and entrepreneurship, Christopher Maritz shares the hard lessons that shaped his unstoppable mindset. Growing up in South Africa, Chris experienced life across different financial realities, from comfort to uncertainty, which fueled his determination to create long-term financial security for his family. In our conversation, he discusses discipline, accountability, faith, leadership, sales, wealth building, and the choices that separate average performers from elite ones. You will hear why he views work like a video game, how fatherhood changed his life overnight, and why listening, personal responsibility, and choosing the right circle can transform your future. If you're looking for practical lessons on financial growth, personal development, entrepreneurship, and building a lasting legacy, I believe you will find this conversation valuable Highlights: 00:56 - How childhood discipline shaped his work ethic. 10:18 - Why seeing different income levels changed his view of money. 12:46 - The promise he made to create financial security for his family. 27:31 - How faith helped transform his relationships and direction. 45:19 - Why becoming a father completely changed his habits and focus. 1:04:08 - How adversity helps build an unstoppable mindset. About the Guest: I am a 38-year-old South African male, married to a beautiful wife and have a beautiful 2.5-year-old little girl. We definitely did not come from money whatsoever. We had it pretty decent until about 10 or myself at least had it pretty decent until about 10, 11. We started going through a couple of financial struggles as the country was changing. So I have a unique perspective of having it really well off in the beginning of my life and then kind of having that taken away from me. So I am an overtly hard worker. We have been through multiple different industries. Myself, I started as a panel beater, data capturer, waiter at multiple different restaurants, moved into sales at a hospitality and catering company, broke records there, went to work at a technology solutions company and looked after the biggest video wall in the world and then from there moved into AVVC IT VoIP TC. And kind of that is where I moved into engineering a little bit. As a SCADA engineer, I was a service ops manager for a company. I really enjoyed it, but unfortunately I did not think that the finances there, in my personal opinion at least, were going to help me and my family succeed and build an empire. So we moved into digital marketing. I was able to find an amazing job through a gentleman. He is the best person, Brad Ferris. And I was given an amazing role at an amazing company. I learned a lot. I upskilled myself significantly through multiple different certifications and just being around a lot of skilled people. Fast forward to today, I am lucky enough to be at the best digital marketing agencies in the world. In Kick Charge Creative, I have been able to fund myself enough to buy the best lead generation software in the world, Seamless AI. I avidly enjoy spending time with my daughter, taking my family on holidays based on the hard work that I have put in. We are very interested in purchasing properties, investing in businesses, getting equity shares and splits. So you can kind of look at it like this, I used to be quite a bit of a lazy gamer computer gamer and now my new computer game is taking extreme hard work and transmuting it into finances for our family to build an empire and leave our beautiful little girl a legacy. In this episode, we break down Ryan Burge's demographic analysis of American Protestant churches and the uncomfortable math behind membership decline. Using age-distribution data across major denominations, Burge argues many churches aren't stable—they're simply being “buoyed by the Baby Boomers.” With modal ages in the late 60s, shrinking numbers of young adults, and fewer children in the pipeline, many groups are approaching a demographic tipping point. Decline won't be gradual; it will feel slow and then sudden. Unless leaders plan now, some denominations could lose 30–50% of their adult members over the next couple of decades. The message is clear: this isn't a theological or programmatic problem. It's an actuarial problem, and the clock is already ticking.
