Watching all the bad movies so you don't have to. (but you probably should, so you'll understand)
movies, games, guys, great podcast, fun, listen.
Listeners of Reel Rotten that love the show mention:The Reel Rotten podcast is an absolute gem for anyone who loves to indulge in the so-bad-it's-good world of movies. I stumbled upon this podcast during my morning commute and I haven't looked back since. Nick, Steven, and Kyle (although he doesn't get mentioned as much) are a dynamic trio who bring their A-game when it comes to discussing the best-worst movies of all time. With their witty banter and extensive knowledge of celebrities and bad movies, they have managed to turn my once-agitating commutes into enjoyable journeys filled with laughter.
One of the best aspects of The Reel Rotten podcast is how well these guys know their stuff. They dive deep into the trivia surrounding each movie they discuss, offering fascinating insights that make even the most terrible films intriguing. It's clear that they do their research and put effort into delivering content that keeps listeners engaged. The themed games they include in some episodes add an extra layer of fun, allowing listeners to participate and test their knowledge alongside the hosts.
While the movies being discussed may be terrible, there is no doubt that this podcast is great entertainment. The comedic chemistry between Nick, Steven, and Kyle is off the charts. Their quick wit and hilarious commentary never fail to keep me entertained throughout each episode. Even if you haven't seen all of the movies they talk about (like myself), you will still find yourself laughing along with them as they recount absurd scenes and plotlines.
However, one downside to The Reel Rotten podcast is that it occasionally feels like Kyle gets sidelined or forgotten in the discussions. While Nick and Steven have great chemistry together, it would be nice to see more involvement from Kyle in future episodes. Nonetheless, this minor issue doesn't detract too much from the overall enjoyment of the podcast.
In conclusion, if you're a fan of bad movies or just enjoy laughing at cinematic disasters, The Reel Rotten podcast is a must-listen. Nick, Steven, and Kyle (don't forget about him!) bring their A-game when it comes to discussing the best-worst movies of all time, making each episode an entertaining and laughter-filled experience. From their extensive movie trivia to the themed games they include, this podcast is a delightful way to make your commutes or downtime more enjoyable. Take a bite of this tomato any day of the week and give The Reel Rotten podcast a listen - you won't regret it.

How could this movie be bad you say? It's not (that bad??)! Pearl Harbor. One of the darkest days in American history….No better way to commemorate this moment in history than to give Michael Bay and Ben Affleck hundreds of millions of dollars! In this episode, Reel Rotten dives in to an ensemble dumpster fire, Pearl Harbor (2001). The star power wasted in this “blockbuster” might have been more tragic than the actual event itself. The RR Crew discuss everything that's wrong with Pearl Harbor, their Top 5 Michael Bay movies, and how to make it fresh. We've done it. 2 episodes in one day! We've ALSO recorded what will be the least listened to podcast that we ever create. The guys have been waiting literal years to do this and what better time than the 30th year anniversary, it's #dutchsgiving! Dutch (1991) starring Ed O'Neil and Ethan Embry is a forgotten Thanksgiving classic, but one that Nick and Stephen will remember forever. Without any help whatsoever, the boys tackle this bizarre John Hughes road trip movie with everything from their best Australian accents, to their best recasting couch yet. Later they reveal their Top 5 John Hughes movies (you'll be disappointed), and pitch their reboots and sequels. You don't (you do) wanna miss this one! Shut up and listen up!Subscribe & Follow us! What happens when you cross Nic Cage, Reel Rotten, in November? A celebration unlike any other. What do you get when you cross The Year of Cage and Spooktober? You get screams, over-acting, and BEES! Host Nick Lyon's least favorite month is upon us and the best way to celebrate is with a Nic Cage WTF-athon brought to you by The Wicker Man (2006). The guys along with new favorite guest Adam dive deep into the bees and break down exactly what did and did not work in this 2006 remake of a 70s cult horror classic. Just as Nic Cage was inspired by Johnny Ramone to make this film, the guys were inspired by Nic Cage to pitch their own Wicker Man sequels and prequels. Later they list their Top 5 folk-horror movies and dive even deeper in to the INSANITY that is this film. Shut up and listen up!Subscribe & Follow us! The Summer of Sick is over and we're as upset as you are. Partly because we've been busy and not able to get as sick as we wanted and partly because people are getting sick again, but there's good news. We found the cure (to boredom) and it's the movie G Force (2009) about guinea pigs who are specially trained spies and it's fucking incredible. In this episode, The Reel Rotten crew get into Top 5 spy movies (with a bonus top 3), they talk about a TOP TEN Nicolas Cage performance, and Stephen pulls out probably his best impression yet. Summer of (making ourselves) Sick continues with our second Eddie Murphy movie of the year, The Haunted Mansion. This Disney ride made into a movie came out the same year as Pirates of the Caribbean and they could not be more different. Reel Rotten gets into everything from the almost versions of the film, to what type of ghosts they would be. Later, Nick & Stephen do their top 5 favorite Disneyland rides, with the help of actual expert Eric Manlove. They pitch their own movies they would make into rides and last but not least talk a little, Stuart Little. Shut up and listen up! Subscribe & Follow us! The Summer of Sick wrapped in the Year of Cage rolls on and nothing has ever been as extreme or as Nic Cage as Ghost Rider. Cage playing an impossible to kill motorcycle rider that doesn't drink, loves eat jelly beans, and laughs like an insane person at monkey videos is something you'll never forget. The best part is, he's been dreaming of being Johnny Blaze his whole life... We're just glad that Marvel let this movie happen before deciding to only make good movies.
Happy Father's Day to all the emotionless fathers that force their sons to: A) Act in movies and B) Fight monsters that smell your fear…. We can relate! That's right, Reel Rotten is heading into the world's weirdest Venn Diagram where Will Smith & M. Night Shymalan combine and form After Earth (2013). A very bad movie that Nick, Stephen and special returning guest (AND NEW FATHER) Ted, get all the way into. The boys talk everything from how Ted would handle movie child situations, to what age he will let his daughter watch a rated R movie. Later, they determine their Top 5 father-son movies, talk the whole Smith family, and shockingly don't blame M. Night for once! Nick even formally apologizes for getting day drunk before the podcast recording. Shut up and listen up! Subscribe & Follow us! We've all been drunk, alone and staring at our neighbors so much this year that it's about damn time we celebrate it! Reel Rotten along with Amy Adams (she's not there) break down the long journey of The Woman in the Window (2021) and how a movie with an insanely talented cast can still be so so bad. The movie was 26% when this podcast was recorded and now it's at 25%, that's the power of an unreleased podcast folks! Hear Kyle discover the twists of the movie in real time as he watches, the guys do their top 5 unreliable narrator movies, and Nick quizzes Stephen on Cruella and Quiet Place 2 (movies are BACK BABY!). So listen in and shut up, and hope that we all have an Amy Adams looking at us from their beautiful house. Subscribe & Follow us!
