WEIRDOS!! For this month's BONUS EPISODE, Ash & Alaina dive fang-first into Breaking Dawn: Part 1. Share in the trauma of the ATROCIOUS Cullen wigs, the weird internalized misogyny of vampire reproduction, and the fact that Jacob imprints on a child with a name that sounds suspiciously like a pharmaceutical side effect! Today, we're wrapping up the Twilight Saga with the last bit of Breaking Dawn. This episode features rage bait, suspicious sounding aliases, the vampire group chat, the Volturi synchronized swimming, and a fight scene that doesn't happen. Today we're covering more of Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. Bella is a professional vampire; Renesmee is a creepy toddler; Alice is a klutz; Edward would cry if he could; Jacob reveals himself to Charlie; and basically, the world is full of things. Next week, we will be wrapping up Breaking Dawn!
Today, we are continuing our discussion of Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer by wrapping up Part II. Emmett is Goldilocks; Edward could've been an asset in sooo much scientific research; everyone needs to LEAVE LEAH ALONE; someone questions "is this play about us?"; Rigatoni arrives "Alien Style"; and we can't get past what Stephenie did. For the next two weeks, we will be wrapping up on Breaking Dawn. In the meantime, remember to follow us on Instagram and Tiktok.

Ben and Rob bring the saga to a close with ‘The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2', the 2012 fantasy finale that ended one of the most talked about franchises in modern cinema. Starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Mackenzie Foy, Michael Sheen, Dakota Fanning and Anna Kendrick, Breaking Dawn Part 2 delivers the final chapter of vampires, werewolves and eternal love, while wrapping up a cultural phenomenon that defined a generation.Does Breaking Dawn Part 2 actually deliver as a franchise finale? How do the cast and pacing hold up, and does that infamous final act work? What was the critical response at the time, and how did the making of the film shape what we ended up seeing? Why is Renesmee still one of the strangest choices in blockbuster history, and what did the end of Twilight mean for the cast who lived it? And finally, why do Ben and Rob adore this franchise so much, and why are they genuinely sad to see it end?CONSUUUME to find out all this and much, much more!PLUS! Ben and Rob head back to Forks to crack open Breaking Dawn – Part 1, the strangest chapter in the Twilight saga. Before getting into the chaos, they rewind to ask the obvious question: what is this film actually trying to be? The pair unpack the cultural moment surrounding its release, what critics made of it at the time, and why a movie that feels like it has three completely different acts somehow still counts as one story. From there the conversation gets weirder. The boys dig into the Mormon influence behind the Twilight universe, the fingerprints of purity culture all over Bella and Edward's relationship, and how those ideas shape the film's deeply uncomfortable worldview. Along the way they debate whether Bella might secretly be one of the worst movie wives ever put to screen (a title previously held by Amazing Amy in Gone Girl), and why the film's emotional logic feels so… off. It's romance, horror, awkward honeymoon vibes, and some truly baffling storytelling as Ben and Rob try to untangle why Breaking Dawn – Part 1 feels so strange, what it says about love, marriage, and control in the Twilight world… and, as always, beneath the vampires, wolves, and wedding bells… what does it really mean?CONSUUUME to find out all this and much, much more!PLUS! We're back! And we're here to yap and catch up. In this episode, we discuss the ice storm of 2026, how birds aren't real, the slump of the century, Peyton's fun facts, the Winter Olympics, Bridgerton, and true crime documentaries. Basically, it's always unsolicited, AND it all comes back to holes. Next week, Peyton will be ranting about Wuthering Heights. Then, we'll be back with our coverage of Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer.
It's the end of an era this week, as we close the book on our Valentine's Day tradition. We say goodbye to Bella, Edward, and Jacob, as we watch The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. Join us as we discuss how little Dan retains of these films, the crazy CGI decisions made for Renesmee, and talk about the wild ending. In today's episode, we are wrapping up Eclipse. Basically, we hate everyone. Jacob makes his big confession; Bella takes a huge L; Edward is the pettiest; and family game night at the Cullens would be wild. Our coverage of Breaking Dawn will be coming very soon! In the meantime, you can keep up with us on Instagram and Tiktok!
An Evening At the Movies Meets The Razzies comes to a conclusion as Kasey and Amanda sit down to discuss Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2
I und II.

Sleeping at Last is the solo project of Illinois multi-instrumentalist Ryan O'Neal — and he's about to take the stage with the Chicago Philharmonic this holiday season. He's had music featured in shows including “Grey's Anatomy,” “The Vampire Diaries” and “Private Practice,” but O'Neal's catapult to success came when his song “Turning Page” landed a coveted spot in the 2011 “Twilight” film “Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” On Saturday, Nov. 29, O'Neal will join the Chicago Philharmonic at the Auditorium Theatre for “Home for the Holidays.” The performance includes orchestral arrangements of O'Neal's holiday covers and original songs. He sat down with Vocalo's Nudia Hernandez to discuss how he got in touch with the orchestra and give some insight into his creative process. This interview originally aired on Vocalo Radio 91.1 FM during Nudia in the Afternoons on Tuesday, Nov. 18. It was hosted, edited and produced by Nudia Hernandez, with production support from Morgan Ciocca and Talia Lopresti. Send us a textThis episode feels like what we've worked toward for the past few seasons. How can we have a library podcast and not do the pop culture juggernaut that was Twilight? Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (yep she spells Stephanie that way) follows Isabella "Bella" Swan on her move from sunny and warm Phoenix, AZ to the cold, rainy and wet Forks, WA. She stands out as the new girl. But it's not just corny 17-year-olds boys paying Bella special attention. She's also caught the eye of possibly the oldest high schooler, the moody and broody Edward Cullen. If Bella isn't "like the other girls" then the Cullens are not like the other quasi adopted families out there. The siblings date each other ("they're like together, together"), they don't talk to anyone, and well..they're undead. What follows is a romance for the ages, perfectly situated in 2005 when we couldn't quite pick up on the massive red flags behind our side-swept bangs. In hindsight, someone should've stopped those of us who read it as teens. But, what doesn't kill you makes you... a vampire? We've grown up and learned a few lessons. Now we can deliver this conversation from a more healed place. In this episode we question Bella's survival instincts, Edward's stalker tendencies and the family dynamics at play in this book. And while people argue whether Breaking Dawn should've been 2 movies (it shouldn't have been...), we hope listeners understand why this episode had to be a two-parter. We just had so much to say! These Books Made Me is a podcast about the literary heroines who shaped us and is a product of the Prince George's County Memorial Library System podcast network. This week, the Lautners are joined by singer and songwriter Christina Perri! Christina starts from the very beginning, sharing what led her parents to seek therapy for her at just eight years old, what those early sessions looked like, and how she felt about it all at such a young age. She reflects on the unhealthy coping mechanisms that developed in her late teens and early twenties, her struggles with drugs and alcohol, what ultimately led her to choose sobriety, and offers powerful advice for anyone dealing with addiction or facing the fear and shame of relapse. She also walks us through the whirlwind of when “Jar of Hearts” took off after airing on So You Think You Can Dance and how it catapulted her career. From there, we explore her journey through motherhood—navigating postpartum depression, miscarriage, and stillbirth—and how she approached those conversations with her daughter. Christina opens up about grief, the toll child loss can have on a marriage, and what's helped her heal. To wrap it up, she shares the story behind writing “A Thousand Years” for Breaking Dawn, her love for the Twilight series, and what inspired her to turn the song into a children's book!Be sure to follow Christina https://instagram.com/christinaperri/!Shop Christina's new children's book ‘A Thousand Years' here: https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/722851/a-thousand-years-by-christina-perri-illustrated-by-joy-hwang-ruiz/To email us your questions or share your story, you can reach out to lautner.thesqueezepodcast@gmail.comBe sure to rate, review, and follow the podcast so you don't miss an episode!
