In 2005, for the first time in their history, Pearl Jam took the trek across the entire nation of Canada visiting many cities and provinces for the first, and for some the only time. While the band had been no stranger to Montreal, this night in the city of saints was special for reasons beyond the stage. It was the one-year anniversary that a dear friend and founding father of punk rock Johnny Ramone had passed away. The entirety of this set pays tribute to the man who Eddie Vedder considered one of his best friends and heroes. From the start of the show with Release, you are able to tell how difficult it was for Ed to get through it with many emotions bubbling to the surface. There are stretches of songs in this show ranging from songs that Johnny loved such as Corduroy and Last Kiss to songs that dealt with the themes of death and loss such as Light Years, Sad and Man Of The Hour. There are even two Ramones songs played here as we'll get to hear I Believe In Miracles and a tag of I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend that occurred at the end of Better Man. And this may surprise many of you, but there are not one, but two Cat Stevens covers played at this show. Believe it or not, there is a connection there with Johnny Ramone, and we'll share that as we discuss the set. Tagging in here to help out with this episode is one half of the Hallucinogenic Recipe podcast, Patrick Boegel, who was in attendance for this show and will share his memories involving a Fresh Canadian Rastaman. We'll also dig into Eddie's recent performances on the SNL 50 Homecoming special and how Ed, Jack White and others did a great job paying homage to the history of the show. Her performance, however, revealed none of this. In fact, “Crazy” went on to become a massive hit, spending 21 weeks on the Billboard charts and becoming one of her signature songs.  In 1967, The Doors began recording their sophomore record, Strange Days, at Sunset Sound Studios in Hollywood. The album was released the following month and included two Top 30 singles, “People Are Strange” and “Love Me Two Times.” It peaked at No. 3 on the US album chart and, 34 years later, received a platinum certification from the RIAA.  21 Aug 1983 Ramones guitarist Johnny Ramone had a four-hour brain surgery operation, after being found unconscious in a New York Street where he had been involved in a fight.  21 Aug 1997 Oasis' third album 'Be Here Now', became one of the fastest selling albums ever, shifting over 350,000 units on the first day of release. The cover image for Be Here Now was shot at Stocks House in Hertfordshire, the former home of Victor Lownes, the head of the Playboy Clubs in the UK. Det här är berättelsen om bandet som bröt ny mark, men allra mest drömde om att få en stor hit. Hösten 1974, New York. Dokumentären är gjord av Stefan Sundberg våren 2023Producent Joanna KorbutiakExekutiv producent Lars TruedsonSlutmix Fredrik NilssonProgramledare Siri HillMedverkande: Janne Lagerström och Gustav StjernqvistHuvudsakliga källor som använts som underlag för dokumentären är böckerna “Hey Ho Let´s Go: The Story of The Ramones” av Everett True, “Commando: The Autobiography of Johnny Ramone” av Johnny Ramone, “Ramones I Sverige” av Sven Lindström, Janne Lagerström, Petter Lönegård & Kjell Magnusson samt dokumentären “End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones” (2003).Ljudklippen i dokumentären kommer från dokumentären “End of the Century” (2003), Tomorrow Show (1981), The Noise (1989), Modern Rock at the Jersey Shore (1995), Howard Stern Show (1996), Brass Tracks - A Punk Documentary (1977), The Year Of Punk (1978), The London Weekend Show (1976),

Topics covered include the intense dumbness of the conspiracy to trap our hero, the clunkiness of the dialogue, the universal dour evil of women in this movie universe, ACAB (All Cops Are Bumblers), the Safety Dance, misogyny and the awful addition of gender conflict to this movie, the “dark comedy” issue, multiple JJ Abrams references, the necessity for some people to get their stupid asses stung to death by bees, the uncertain origin of elbow patches, the cinematic creepiness of twins, Don Quixote references, the on-the-nose William Blake quote, the insistence on the omnipresence of misanthropy in a work of misogyny, Willow's unclear motivation, a quick shout-out to Robert Evans and Behind the Bastards regarding Ellen Burstyn's mistreatment on the set of The Exorcist, the intense pointlessness of watching the PG-13 cut of this movie, the Children of God and “flirty fishing,” and the final middle finger of dedicating this crap to Johnny Ramone. In episode two, Team TLB head up to the valley and to the incredible home of Linda Ramone, wife of the late Johnny Ramone – guitarist in one the greatest punk bands there ever was – and custodian of the Linda and Johnny Ramone Ranch, a paradise of countercultural curios, movie memorabilia and Elvis collectables. Over a morning aperitif, Linda talks about growing up with NYC punk, dating bandmates and younger men, what Lisa-Marie Presley thinks of her themed Elvis room, the importance of fandom, her musical obsessions, how she maintains rock'n'roll's legacy and the best way to silence your critics. ABOUT AUDIO-TECHNICA In 1962, with a vision of producing high-quality audio for everyone, Audio-Technica's founder Hideo Matsushita created the first truly affordable phono cartridge, the AT-1 in Shinjuku, Japan. Since then, Audio-Technica has grown into a world-renowned company devoted to Audio Excellence at every level, expanding the product range to include headphones, microphones and turntables. Audio-Technica's commitment to the user experience and their devotion to high quality design, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution has placed them at the forefront of the industry for the last 60 years. ABOUT THE LAST BOHEMIANS Journalist and broadcaster Kate Hutchinson launched The Last Bohemians in 2019, pairing the audio with stunning portraits by photographer Laura Kelly. It stole hearts with 86-year-old Molly Parkin's stories of self-pleasuring, LSD countess Amanda Feilding's trepanning tales and Pamela Des Barres' reflections on supergroupiedom. It won silver for Best New Podcast at the 2020 British Podcast Awards and was a finalist at the 2021 Audio Production Awards.  Series two featured folk legend Judy Collins; British fashion icon Zandra Rhodes, dealing with the aftermath of losing her lover while celebrating 50 years in fashion; anarcho-punk innovator and illustrator Gee Vaucher; and the controversial witch at the heart of the 1970s occult boom, Maxine Sanders. In 2021, The Last Bohemians launched a lockdown special with performance artist Marina Abramović; it returned in 2022 with the UK's greatest living painter, Maggi Hambling, as well as Bowie's former best friend Dana Gillespie and theatre actor Cleo Sylvestre. thelastbohemians.co.uk patreon.com/thelastbohemians instagram.com/thelastbohemianspod twitter.com/thelastbohospod

On this episode I am joined by musician and author Mickey Leigh! A staple in New York City music since the 1970's playing in bands like The Rattlers and Stop, Mickey's latest group Mickey Leigh's Mutated Music recently dropped their debut record Variants of Vibe. We discuss new music as well as-Goals for Mutated Music-Having Steven Van Zandt release your bands new record-Mickey's songwriting approach-Seeing he and brother Joey Ramones lives reenacted on the big screen as his book I Slept With Joey Ramone gets adapted into a Netflix movie-The great undertaking of writing a book and if he could see himself ever doing it again-The added responsibilities of being the sole guitarist in a band-If New York City surroundings shape the sound of his music-Finding creative inspiration in others lives and journeys and not just sticking to what you know-Being the most critical of your own work and why musicians are never 100% happy with the final product-What goes in to putting together the Joey Ramone Birthday Bash every year (and his plans for this year)-The ever changing music industry-The feeling he gets from playing Ramones songs on stage with Richie and CJ and much more!Follow Mickey Leigh/Mutated Musichttps://mickeyleigh.comhttps://mickeyleighsmutatedmusic.bandcamp.com/album/variants-of-vibehttps://www.youtube.com/user/OfficialMickeyLeighhttps://www.instagram.com/mickeyleighnyc/?hl=enhttps://www.facebook.com/MickeyLeighhttps://twitter.com/MickeyLeighNYCCheck out the Power Chord Hour radio show every Friday night at 10 to midnight est on 107.9 WRFA in Jamestown, NY.
