In dieser Episode sprechen wir mit der Gründungs-Mentorin Maren Jopen. Sie ist eine beeindruckende Persönlichkeit und dreifache Unternehmensgründerin, die bereits Hunderte von Menschen auf ihrem Weg begleitet hat. Neben ihrer unternehmerischen Expertise ist Maren auch eine engagierte Mutter von zwei Kindern und lebt in München. Ihre Karriere begann mit einem Diplom in Betriebswirtschaft, gefolgt von zehn Jahren als Marketing-Gruppenleiterin bei "Telefonica". Doch im Jahr 2010 kam der Wendepunkt: Maren ging ins Gefängnis. Dieser Schritt markierte den Beginn einer neuen Ära in ihrem Leben. Gemeinsam mit ihrem Vater gründete sie das Leonhard Programm, das Strafgefangenen beibringt, wie sie nach der Haft ein eigenes Unternehmen gründen können. Diese Initiative hat vielen Menschen eine neue Chance und Perspektive gegeben. 2015 berichtete sie auf großer Bühne bei einem TEDx Talk über ihre Mission und die Erfolge des Leonhard Programms. Ihre zweite Gründung folgte im Jahr 2018 als Co-Founder das "WOMEN'S HUB" in München. Doch es sollte nicht ihr letztes Projekt sein. Im Dezember 2020 machte sie sich als Einzelgründerin von Jopenau selbstständig und setzt seitdem neue Maßstäbe als Gründungs-Mentorin für Frauen.

Unser heutiger Gast ist Björn Jopen, Angel Investor, Serial Entrepreneur und Turnaround Manager. Vor 12 Jahren gründete er seine eigene Investmentfirma JALE in München. Der Fokus von JALE und damit auch von Björn liegt auf digitalen Geschäftsmodellen. Dabei baut er junge Unternehmen nicht nur mit auf und berät sie. Björn und sein Team haben es sich auch zur Aufgabe gemacht, angeschlagene digitale Unternehmen zu sanieren und zu restrukturieren. Björn war auch an der Gründung und dem Verkauf eigener Unternehmen beteiligt. Das Beratungsunternehmen FairControl leitete er über 15 Jahre als Geschäftsführer bis zum Exit an die MCI Group. Danach baute er das Social Media Unternehmen FaceAdNet auf und verkaufte es an Ströer. Zuletzt machte er mit dem Verkauf seines Podcast-Vermarkters Julep Media in die USA von sich reden. Über diese einzigartige Kombination aus erfolgreichen Gründungen, großen Exits und seiner Tätigkeit als Business Angel und Berater spricht Björn Jopen mit Martin Möllmann, Senior Investment Manager beim HTGF in Berlin. Jope Ruonansuusta kertova Jope Ite -dokumenttielokuva saa ensi-iltansa 10. helmikuuta. Elokuvan ohjaaja-käsikirjoittaja Marko Talli kertoi Radio Voimalla perjantaina, että kimmoke elokuvan tekemiseen lähti Lahdesta. - Jopen muistotilaisuus järjestettiin Moottoripyörämuseolla ja Mika [Räinä] luki siellä kirjeen tasavallan presidentti Sauli Niinistöltä, kuinka hän lupasi viedä koulukiusaamisteemaan liittyvän prosessin loppuun. Tämä on vähän tällainen lunastusten sarja koko tämä elokuvahanke. Tallin mielestä Lahdessa järjestetyn muistotilaisuuden jälkeen ilmoille jäi jännite. - Että milloinkahan se Sauli sen lunastaa. Presidentti lunasti lupauksena keväällä 2022 käymällä vierailulla Kemin Syväkankaan koululla, jonne he olivat Ruonansuun kanssa suunnitelleet menevänsä yhdessä puhumaan kiusaamisen ehkäisystä. Käsikirjoittaja Mika Räinä kuvaili myös, miten innokkaasti ja antaumuksella Ruonansuun sisarukset osallistuivat dokumenttielokuvan tekoon. - He halusivat ilman muuta kertoa Jopean tarinan. Siitä välittyi se, että jos Jopella on ollut vaikeaa koulumaailmassa, niin kotimaailmassa on ollut ihan toisenlainen meininki. Räinä jatkaa kertomalla, miten Ruonansuun kotona on ollut lämminhenkistä ja sisarukset ovat olleet toistensa puolella. - Se rakkaus, mitä kotoa on saatu, on ollut todella tärkeä vastapaino Jopelle. Julep Media ist ein deutscher Technologie-Anbieter für Podcast-Werbung. Auf einer offenen Plattform bringt das Startup Podcasts und Unternehmen für die Vermarktung zusammen. Zu den Werbeformen zählen klassische Audio Spots, Sponsorings und Host Read Native Ads. Mehr als 510 Podcasts mit über 50.000 Episoden, die mehr als 45 Millionen mal im Monat abgerufen werden, gehören zum Konsortium des Jungunternehmens. Das Startup ist der einzige Anbieter in Deutschland, der Vermarktung, Produktion und Distribution aus nur einer Hand anbietet. Julep Media wurde im Jahr 2019 von Marcus Englert, Sebastian Weil, Björn Jopen und Manfred Neumann in München gegründet. Weitere Gesellschafter von Julep Media sind die Beteiligungseinheit der Rheinischen Post Mediengruppe RPM Invest, die Unternehmensfamilie Müller Medien sowie Privatinvestoren wie Andreas Mayer, Andreas Wiele und Feliks Eyser. Nun wurde bekanntgegeben, dass das US-amerikanische Podcast Hosting Network namens Libsyn Julep Media übernehmen wird. Der Kauf bedarf jedoch noch der Genehmigung durch das Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz. Libsyn wurde im Jahr 2004 gegründet und ist eine Podcasting-as-a-Service-Plattform, die es ermöglicht, Audioinhalte zu hosten, zu verteilen, zu monetarisieren, zu verstärken und zu messen. Im Jahr 2021 hat das Unternehmen über 6 Milliarden Downloads vorweisen können und hat über 5,8 Millionen Episoden von mehr als 75.000 Podcasts auf der ganzen Welt gehostet. Zu den vom Unternehmen unterstützten Marken gehören u.a. Libsyn Studio und AdvertiseCast. Die bisherigen Investoren von Julep Media werden zugleich Gesellschafter von Libsyn und partizipieren an der Weiterentwicklung des Unternehmens. Mit der Übernahme werden die Voraussetzungen für eine zügige Internationalisierung von Julep Media in Europa geschaffen. Deutschland soll aber weiterhin der Kernmarkt der Plattform bleiben und die Geschäftsführung bleibt mit Steffen Hopf als CEO sowie Christian Rymarenko als COO ebenfalls unverändert. Vanuit de zolderkamer in Utrecht proeven Maarten en Thom, geheel zoals je van ons gewend bent, speciaalbiertjes en geven zij hierover hun ongefilterde mening. Een fijne New England IPA van 7% met een stabiele en zoete smaak, waarin tonen van perzik duidelijk naar voren komen. En warempel: zowel Maarten als Thom kunnen met dit biertje door één deur! Als Biervriendenbiertje heeft Thom een mooi exemplaar van Jopen meegenomen, en wel de Witte Rook. Een bijzondere combinatie: een helles Weizenbock met een Rauchbier die precies doet wat hij zegt en waarin de verschillen in waardering van beide heren toch iets toeneemt. Maarten verzorgde deze aflevering het thema en zette Thom voor het blok: 2 rondes met elk 4 biertjes met in ronde 1 de bierstijl amber en in ronde 2 de bierstijl tripel, met aan Thom de vraag: welk biertje drink je en wat geef je dit biertje op Untappd? Eli Perzelmaier und Maren Jopen sind die Frauen, die hinter Women´s Hub stecken. Aus der Erfahrung von zwei sehr abwechslungsreichen und wirklich wundervollen Lebensgeschichten entwickeln sie damit eine Bewegung, die das Potential dafür hat, die Entwicklung, den Zusammenhalt und die Bedeutung von Frauen im Arbeitskontext nachhaltig zu verändern. Eli Perzelmeier war nach eigener Erinnerung schon früh ein Mensch, dem die “Sonne aus dem Po scheint”. Als Sandwichkind zwischen zwei Schwester und als Tochter eines Lehrerpaars wuchs sie in einer Idylle auf. Früh folgten ihr die Menschen, am Anfang die Freundinnen ihrer kleinen Schwester, denen sie mit dem Kassettenrekorder vorweg tanzte und später als Ratgeberin für viele Weggefährten. Beruflich gab sie immer Vollgas. 2015 folgte die Quittung, es drohte der Burn-out und ihre kleinen Kinder fassten es so kurz wie nur möglich zusammen: “Mami, lieb Dich!”. Maren Jopen hat von klein auf das Vertrauen entwickelt, dass sie die Kraft hat, Dinge zu erreichen, die sie wirklich will. Ob es der Ort für die Abifeier war, der unmöglich erschien, den sie aber per Unterschriftensammlung möglich machte, oder bei der Suche nach einem Praktikumsplatz, bei dem sie ohne Termin bei einer Firma vorsprach und sagte, sie hätte den ganzen Tag Zeit, auf einen Gesprächspartner zu warten. “Finde einen Weg oder mache ihn.” stand auf einer Plakette, die ihr Vater ihr schenkte. Die beiden haben in Deutschland ein Programm aufgelegt, bei dem es darum geht, Strafgefangene zu Unternehmern um zu schulen. Um es vorwegzunehmen: Auch das hat Maren hinbekommen. Episode #2 features a collaboration between two great breweries in The Netherlands. Jopen Brewery and Brouwerij De Molen got together to create the Sin and Remorse Imperial Stout. It is a very good stout with some surprising features. During this episode, we discussed the release of Sierra Nevada's Beer Camp Around the World 12pk. There was some great beer news to spread around. We featured a song by Craz Dr. Grabow (Primitive Relaxation) and two time Grammy nominated music producer, Sam Peezy (Summer Song).

Happy Dyngus Day!Since this is a regional podcast, I asume you're all aware of Dyngus Day. It's the day after Easter, and Dyngus Day is a Polish tradition culminating in a post-lenton festival and parade. That's at least what it looks like in Buffalo: The Official Dyngus Day Capital of the World. To go back and figure out the history of any holiday, religious or otherwise, gets complicated and difficult. What concerns me more is the celebration of Polish culture. Being Polish and Irish guarantees some spring-time activities and in Buffalo that translates to beer. I've tried to stray away from the Killians, Guiness, and colored German or Canadian lagers in favor of local examples of similar beers. Aviator Red is my go-to beer while at Schwabls and Hamburg's Irish Red was a nice change, which hit me more bitter than other examples. In this episode, Clay and I try a Pivo Grodziske from Jopen in Haarlem, Netherlands. It's an historic style from Grodzisk, Poland featuring a 100% smoked-wheat grain bill. The people of Grodzisk, and the former workers of the brewery there, hold a competition each year to see which homebrewer can make the best representation of what this beer used to be. A Pivo Grodziske in modern times is also known as a Gratzer, taking it's name from the same town but while under Prussian or German rule, although this bottle claims to be based on an older recipe and differs from a Grazer in it's yeast strain. Sometimes called “Polish Champagne” because of it's carbonation, I found this to be a balanced and understated beer. Samual Adams put out a Gratzer last year as part of their Long Shot 6-pack that packed a significant increase in smoked flavor which overpowered the beer. This example of a Grodziske, in contrast to the Sam Adams offering, is easily drinkable and at 4% would be a great addition to a summer cookout. Making a Gratzer/Grodziske One of the members of Das Hausbrauers, Bill Serowski, has been making Gratzers regularly for the past year or so. His beer was featured on episode 59 of Dr. Homebrew, where the panel members admitted a lack of experience with the style. Jopen beer is a result of the work of Stichting Haarlems Biergenootschap, which was founded in 1992. The mission of the Biergenootschap is to re-create traditional Haarlem beers and bring them to the commercial market. Two recipes were found in the Haarlem city archives that were used as a foundation for 2 initial beers. The first one was a recipe from 1407 and the recreation of this was named Koyt. In December 1996 the commercial company Jopen BV acquired the beer. The name Jopen refers to the 112 litre beer barrels that were used in early times to transport the Haarlem beer. Until the end of 1996 Jopen beer was brewed in the Halve Maan brewery in Hulst, after that it was made in the La Trappe brewery in Berkel-Enschot. Since 2001 the Jopen beer brands were brewed in Ertvelde, Belgium, in brewery Van Steenberge. The current brewer is Chris Wisse. At the end of 2005 it was announced that the old Jacobskerk, in the Raaks area in the city centre of Haarlem, would be transformed into a brewery. In November 11, 2010, the "Jopenkerk" (Jopen church) opened its doors for the public. Mistähän se kumpuaa tarve antaa luonnonvaraisille eläimille nimi? Lemmikkinä pidettävän eläimen nimeämisen ymmärrän tiettyyn pisteeseen saakka. Onhan esimerkiksi koiralla tai kissalla, Topilla tai Tessulla, varsin kätevää olla kutsumanimi, jolla sen voi kutsua ruokailemaan tai tekemään meidän ihmisten iloksi monenlaisia temppuja. Mutta että haikaralle nimi? Tuskin Jallu tai Joppe ovat kutsumanimiään tunnistaneet, mutta kai siinä on joku pointti? Kai se on mukavampaa harrastajapiireissä kertoa käyneensä moikkaamassa Jallua. Ikäänkuin olisi ystävän luona käynyt. Ja olihan Jopen “isäntä”, mies jonka pihapiirissä onneton muuttovaistonsa menettänyt kattohaikara vietti kissanpäiviä herkkujen äärellä, tirauttanut ihan kyyneleen haikaran kuoltua. Me välitämme eläimistä ja tunnemme niitä kohtaan lämpimiä ajatuksia, joskus jopa enemmän kuin tunnemme lajitovereitamme kohtaan. Varsinkin, jos lajitoverimme näyttää vähän erilaiselta kuin itse olemme. Mutta ei nyt mennä siihen teemaan, vaan palataan muihin eläimiin. Halumme inhimillistää eläimiä on suuri. Väännämme mielellään kättä siitä kumpi onkaan älykkäämpi kissa vai koira. Sanomattakin on selvää että kissa, mutta miksi toimimme näin? Ja ennenkaikkea vertaammeko eläimen älyä ihmiseen? Ihminen, joka on niin sanotusti luomakunnan kruunu, ei oikeasti ole minkään ylemmän voiman luomisen tulos vaan evoluution aikaansaannos, niinkuin muutkin elukat. Eläinkunnan kehittynein laji pyrkii tietoisesti tai tiedostamattaan tuhoamaan muut lajit ja haluaa alistaa omassa elinpiirissään olevat eläimet tahtonsa mukaisiksi. Paitsi, että eläimille annetaan nimiä, niitä pidetään häkeissä, niitä viedään näyttelyihin, niitä puetaan vaatteisiin, niille perustetaan hoitoloita ja ravintoloita, useat lemmikkieläimet syövät parempaa ruokaa kuin monet ihmiset, niistä tehdään ns. kissavideoita, joista taas tehdään lauluja ja niin edelleen. Alempien eläinlajien edustajista haetaan mielellään piirteitä, jotka miellyttävät ihmistä. Ajatellaan vaikka simpanssia. Voi kuinka ihmismäinen se onkaan rapsutellessaan lähipiirinsä jäsenen karvoitusta. Sillähän on ihan ihmisenkaltainen hellä katse. Voi että. Ihan kuin me ihmiset. Mutta sitten muistetaan, että eläinhän se on. Piste. Apina. Tuli vaan vielä mieleen, että ajattelevatkohan muut eläimet meistä ihmisistä samalla tavalla? Että kylläpäs tuo Usain Bolt juokseekin kuin hirvi. Varpuset puskassa tirskuvat meikäläisen ohikävellessä, että onpas tuo Blomis sitten pöllön näköinen. Uljas merikotka leijaillessaan korkeuksissa hymyilee ja ajattelee kuinka nuo jalkapallostadionille ahtautuneet ihmiset ovat kuin muurahaiset keossaan, tosin paljon vähemmän aikaansaapia ja ääntelevätkin kuin mölyapinat. Mutta juuri nyt haluan ulos raikkaille talvilaitumille, kirmailemaan kuin vasikat keväällä, pukeudun lämpimästi näyttäen aivan mursulta, viheltelen mennessäni kuin pasilan satakieli, mieleni on vapaa kuin hiirihaukka ja muiden lajitoverieni silmissä olen laumanjohtaja, alfauros. Ja sellaisena aion kulkea jatkossakin… Koska se on mun luonto.
