The January Developer Direct has come and gone! With it, Xbox has finally achieved what many fans have desperately sought out for them to do since this generation started back in 2020: Have consistent releases in the front half of the year. Indeed, you'll be getting three major games from them between April 8th and May 15th on Game Pass. Those titles are Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, South Of Midnight, and DOOM: The Dark Ages. That's not all as the mysterious fourth (fifth?) showing is a strong return for Ninja Gaiden. A fourth entry is real and inbound for Fall of this year. Today, you can play Ninja Gaiden 2 Black which aims to straighten out problems over a decade old. With the return of 2D and 3D Ninja Gaiden, it truly is "The Year Of The Ninja" and the Dukes couldn't be happier about it. In today's Daily Fix:Sony has canceled a couple more games, both of which were live service titles. One of them was a God of War multiplayer game, and the other was an unannounced game from Bluepoint. Looks like Sony could be scaling back their live service push in the wake of the colossal failure of Concord. In other news, the devs behind Hollow Knight: Silksong potentially teased...something. A cryptic tweet involving a dessert profile picture have lead some to believe a Silksong announcement is coming with Nintendo's big Switch 2 Direct in April. And finally there's a new Steam Deck, only you can't buy it and it would probably be bad to play games on. To celebrate Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Steam Deck verification, Square Enix showed off a chocobo-themed Steam Deck complete with chocobo fur. Not the best way to play a handheld that can get very without the extra sweater.

As is customary nowadays, we kick off another new year by drafting games into our Fantasy Critic League rosters! If you are unfamiliar, think of it as Fantasy Football but for video games where scores are tallied based on each game's review aggregate score on Open Critic. In Folge 139 des PC Games Podcast sprechen wir über die grandiose Show der Game Awards 2024. Ein Sci-Fi-Spiel namens Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet rauscht da in der Zukunft auf uns zu und macht einen großartigen Ersteindruck. Zu Mafia: The Old Country, Borderlands 4 und einem neuen Elden Ring gab's ebenfalls Szenen zu sehen. Dazu kamen noch etliche Überraschungen, die euch unser Podcast-Duo verrät.
